I love the look of a man in a suit, and this one is exceptionally tailored and, along with the cigar, conveys a sort of "man about town" image. I also love the knit tie. Great shot and light and good colour combination, but:

xxx G&L
I love the muted palette coupled with the strong stripe.
molto casual-elegante!! mi piace parecchio!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing
WOW. On every level.
Is it acceptable for the tie to be hanging that low if you're going for the soft linen-y deconstructed look?
Great 'tache...
mostly just a very nice, almost startlingly eye-catching photo ... no mere snapshot here ... I like the way you're filling the frame more with the image, here and with the lady's picture just below ... and there's also a close-in, surrealistic quality in your deep close-up that's at once scary and thrilling... are you using a new camera, too?? Of course the guy's macho sexy chic, but, firstly, I was taken aback by the knit tie in summer worn together with a linen suit; also I think he needs a third color ... His haircut, however, is just fantastic!!
Very very classic! The man and the clothes are at a timeless portrait perfect snapshot!
That's a really great picture and a cool man! The only thing that I kind of dislike is the shadow (your maybe?) that hits his legs...
Nice Scott! You got a guy in a chino suit and knit tie as well? I'll post mine in 48 hours to keep it on an even keel. Love the scenery too. Seems as if the day was beginning to end very shortly.
Love it.
Or rather, perfection.
Everything but the length of the tie looks fantastic. Linen is a great way to beat the Summer heat with style!
www.eHaberdasher.com
LOVE that tie!
xx
The tie cheapens the outfit - plus linen combined with this type of knit, looks odd. On a woollen winter suit it would look better, but still knit ties are a no-no. We live in 2009 after all.
Your work is amazing. It inspires me.
And shows that everyone has a peculiarity.
How self assured does a man have to be before he can wear the narrow end of his tie longer than the wide end?
Perfect.
wow..I almost didn't see the knit tie so distracted by the elegance of this image..love the mood
magnifico...
good shoot
A knitted tie! Extra points Mr Sartorialist!
I am charmed with Simon's style, the air that is given smoking cigars. The tie of stripes
Excellent.

I met Simone on my last visit to Florence. He is a wonderful character and always beautifully dressed. I think his shop is called 'Andrews Ties' and is always full of beautifully crafted Italina clothes. When I mentioned to him that I'd seen him photographed, he was quite bashful. He is very welcoming and I'd encourage all fans of this blog who enjoy the the Italian cut and cloth to visit his shop. If you visit on the weekend you may also be served by his brother, a larger than life Lawyer, who is also great value.
amazing..
Oh, these men's clothes rules you all cite, they are so boring! Do you go around issuing infringements and are you as stylish as this man? He looks fantastic. His tie is tied as casually as a scarf, perfect with a crumple-pending linen suit on a hot day. The shirt and the suit are a perfect warm-cool mix and the red stripe of the tie is just enough punch. Bravo. Love it. Get thee all to his shop.
so incredibly dapper!
looks like something out of a magazine.
Love the colors working in this photo. This is a beautiful time of day, one of my favorites and that tie rocks. I want to meet Simone for coffee and conversation.
cool tie, i've never seen anyone in knit tie...nice.
oh YUM
Quite apart from the wonderful clothes and the very charismatic Simone, it's a stunning photo!
i love the linen suit... its so summery to me

Oh!! nice!
Got the same tie from my father's collection
I just love it.........and love the Sartorealist of course
I keep some photos in my computer ( if u don't mind Mr Scott ) it inspires me a lot.
Thank you very much for your beautiful hard working.
Simolino.
Nice tie!
Hey Scott,
while in firenze, would it be possible to feature Gianni Seminara of Sartoria Seminara on your site? I hear he is a great tailor.
Love your blog btw.
I love this shot * * *
the contrasts and length are gorgeous.
amazing light in this photo!
Very male, very sexy. I like the vunerability of the missing cuff button. You planned that into the shot, right?
THHIS MAN EXUDESSSSSSS SWAGG!! Delicious....mmhhhphhhh!!
Mythical
i love that tie!
Somebody warn Tony Stark. Obediah is alive!!!
Love the tie against the suit color
makes me want to shave my head.
Classy and sexy. What a great shot.
That is completely perfect.
the colors are amazing
stylish

its more the capture of a mood than clothing, excellent!
Love the tie, love the esxpression, love the sigar, love the light (the sunset).
Love Simone!
:-)
Bye Sart!
Sorry, my aplogies, Simone's shop is called 'Tie your Tie' and not 'Andrews Ties' per my previous email. Aplogies Simone if you are reading this.
what a great suit.
Love the drape of this suit, the trousers, and the functional buttons on the jacket cuffs.
knit ties are great.
He looks right out of a Russian novel. I AM IN LOVE!
Is he wearing clip-on suspenders?!?
www.eHaberdasher.com (but you won't find any clip-ons sold here!)
Perfection.
This picture is smouldering , I'm inspired!
very moody and elegant
He is such a stylish man!LOVE IT!Hey and keep up with an amazing blog!
that tie is so unexpected yet happens to be the most wonderful thing in this perfect ensemble.
The light. The light. I want to bathe in that light.
most incredible shot! perfect balance between photography, fashion and style
breaks my heart. this man breaks my heart.
perfect.
I am charmed with Scott this photo, this one is the style that I would like to see in the blog.
I am charmed with Simon's tie and well that it(he,she) combines with the suit. What looks like to me more cool is the cigar.
I love the style of Florence men, when I went to Pitti it was like WOW all the time..!
love the beard..
http://www.luxygoods.com
This man looks heavenly. Masculine and dressed to perfection :)
The linen suit and knit tie are just perfect.
I had to come back and take another look at him...wow...just wow.
oh my goodness..
oh my goodness...
it´s (so) "my thing"..
Simply fabulous!
Fabulous! Love the depth of field in this shot. Now all he needs is a good Chanel watch, ha.
OMG...*speechless* Simone, you're the man!
Oh Yeah, Baby! All Time.
honestly. This man is beyond rugged sexy.
a man with a cigar can not fail
oooo
so warm and relaxed. he kind of reminds me of josh brolin... the epitome of maledom. he looks so professional but so laid-back. this makes me want to drink honey tea...
I have been lonely too long.
--The Librarian who wears four inch heels.
nooooooooooooooooo.... i had a similar tie to this that was givenchy and i LOST it arghghhhh
i absloutely adore all knits
How cool and original is that tie?!
really love the linen and the moustache!!
My dad and I wore square-end knit ties long before it was cool.
I love the relaxed formalish look he's got going on with that tie.
WooW!
He seems to come out from a book of Dostoyevskji !! I would have called this picture something like "Lost in his deep thought"
That's it. khaki suit, my favorite. ineida
some got it others no!!! ahhaahah
why do you keep tormenting me with photos of the beautiful, swoon-throb simone? he is male perfection. dear god i need a cold shower.
that's before you even get to the clothes...
OOOH.....The rumpled wheaty suit, with the perfect amount of yellow in it, together with the blue striped shirt and the oxblood striped knitted tie........this is just too satisfying for words. Perfect and perfectly Italian. I'm an Italophile.....

Very nice style, a strong pix...

Classy looking --
he looks like Statya Oblet the famous top model !!
i like this shot, very beautiful
high waist, easy fit, love it
I love Simone but I prefer him with softer longer hair.
Beautiful.
Warm tones at sunset, great photo!
brilliant and oh-so-sexy. Very beautifully taken - gushes and so says a big fan of yours, from Singapore ;)
Superbe ! The shot and the guy !
I feel his peace and quietness while he enjoys the cigarette. Lovely picture, good style!
the tie. you object to the tie? let me tell you something . guys like this take risk, they go into fashion areas you sit and read about in GQ in the comfort of your living room, so that three years later you will have the courage to risk a knit tie. THE TIE! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TIE!
what a beautiful image!
the colors in this photo mirror the light and color of Italian architecture. can't handle the tie? get a grip.
I'm curious to know if you ask people to pose a certain way? How do you get most of your shots?
I LOVE this photograph....
Great snap
i like the way linen it turning his body
My only issue is that the back part of the tie is too long.
I have an obsession with ties.
Love the suit, though.
Ooh, nice look, but what a distracting shadow! A darkened circle in that particular area suggests an accident other than that of lighting ...
You can obviously see beautiful tayloring in this suit. It falls perfectly along his silhouette.
Oh, that light is amazing. Coupled with the blue blue sky! The gentleman's look is nice too :)
Wow! That's how I look in my mind's eye....
well, i could give a f... about the length of the tie. this man looks so amazing. and the photo is beautiful. if i was walking down to the beach and saw this... i think i would be dumb founded and stopped dead in my tracks. this is the stuff of which i dream.

where do you get such a fine linen suit?
this one makes me think of "on the road" by jack kerouac. while reading it, i imagined these types of colors, warm and sunny, and also that kind of mystery. what is he thinking about?
you're very talented, and i'm always admirative of your capacity to be here to catch the instant. the "it' as kerouac said..
Amazing picture!
this is beautiful! the light is magnificent and he looks like style personified
i looooove this.
I love it!!!!!! he is definitely stylish!
needs to redo the tie - back part is too long. Otherwise, great outfit.
great suit, great tie, great beard, great cigar....i want to be that guy
Beautiful clothes, well captured.
Great shot and light and good colour combination, but:
- back part of the tie is too long;
- that suit needs an ironing...
- wearing a jacket with undone cuff button is not a good idea. You can perfectly notice when a suit/jacket is tailor-made without that showing off detail.
I like the high waisted pants w/suspenders with the blue stripe shirt. maybe the tie...
cigar is nice
could do without the jacket... too much beige ... but then again it seems to drape him nice
he looks more las vegas to me...
This guy projects cool in such a strong way I had to write about his style in my blog
http://poh-pursuitofhappyness.blogspot.com/
keep up the good work; I love reading your blog
ah—and the braces! i've just been slain.
ohmygod i am in heaven.
steel, refinement, quirk. and what a linen to stroll in. charmed indeed.
