Comments on "On the Street......Man Stripe, Florence"
I LOVE a man that is well dressed when he gets to a certain age...
you can tell this guy's style has got better with time...
Love the blog as always <3
Nataliexxx
the buttons are so shiny!! i love how the jacket makes the shirt into an hourglassy shape :)
I like combinations with sneakers and a suit.
Peace and love !
classique! tres chic.

just great...there is nothing better than cropped pants in summer...
Somewhat Cute Totally;D
great blazer! it's all in the fit.
hot belmondo-esque older guy
great Look...like his attitude.
I love this look for guys my age. Not wild about the brass, but everything else is lovely.
Love the top & blazer, but the pants look too short, proportion-wise with the blazer...beautiful shot though (barr the cigarette :))
xx
Super! Love the slightly cropped pants, the sneakers with no socks, the stripes, the DB jacket (with brass buttons, no less!), worn casually. At a first glance a simple look, taken to the next level by these simple details! Genius!
Have fun in florence. good to have you back.
hope to see you around.
How cute and fashionable ! LOVE IT
after long time, pretty good photo! Although vintage clothes is cool, this is better!
Love the Picasso look, so hep.
I wonder where he is off to with such purpose?
SAILOR.
Yep - that totally works for him
Love how the double-breasted jacket is worn here and how it unifies what would otherwise be an unremarkable casual look. I watched "Purple Noon" last night and this look is straight out of the film.
casual but elegant
This is what summer is all about..love the classic nautical look with collarless blazer..perfection!
I like to do this but my feet always end up smelling.
Is that a cigarette it looks like one of those fake one's that help you to quit? maybe its a pen come to think of it!
...double breasted blazers are brilliant, easily messed up but when done properly they're killer.
for that reason they're a brave purchase, but one worth making to force your hand.
Great style. Like Popeye shopped at Berdorf's. Ark ark ark ark (Popeye laugh).
I want that blazer.
i think the jacket and pants work well together in terms of length--the jacket looks intentionally short to me--he's tilted forward and the front left quarter is still just reaching the traditional length for a blazer... were the jacket any shorter it would probably result in splitting of vents over his rear end
I lovvee simple cropped pants on men! :)
Oh my! He looks good with this cool jacket.
I still have to visit this place!
Does have a nautical look, like how he's paired the jacket with the sneakers.
Love this picture... a bit of a picasso touch here... I personally love to watch people around me, on the street, the way they dress, the way they move, so I really enjoy your blog. You don't just take pictures of people on the street, you capture their ways, their persona and their inner self too, in your pictures (I hope I am kind of clear here, English is not my mother tongue).
The updated Popeye, the sailor man. Timeless outfit.
love the jacket and the cropped pants, they look great together - so perfectly summery
xox.
The Voguette
This georgeous man is too old for me, but has the same thing George Clooney has...charm.
Very Sartorial photograph!
Thank you Sart!
cropped pant with jacks and navy coat ... awesome!!!
Love the Breton top!!!!!!!!

he reminds me of picasso
which is the brand of shoes ?????
He looks so stylish
He looks so good! Love the nautical stripes and the navy blazer. The length of the pant is perfect, too..and I really like that he's wearing the chucks with no socks..although it could yield smelly feet.

reminds me of Hunter S. thompson...good confident, casual look
You sure that's not Venice? Where's the gondola?!
I don't know why, but he's all Henry Miller to me. Maybe it's because I'm in my Anais Nin phase. He's irresistible, that's for sure. I just imagine that cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth is a ballpoint. He's cool like that.
Man stripe or man candy? I'll take the latter thank you!
Great outfit - perfect use of colour for the summer months. Just goes to show the benefits of keeping it simple!
Love dressy blazers worn over casual clothing - for both boys and girls, actually.
mmmmm okay
i think it needs something to lift it a little - a red neckerchief perhaps, something like that.
and when did people stop wearing socks? red socks, perhaps.
sailor top is a perpetual hit
alternate example with a girl wearing those

I found your blog today and I must say that I simply adore your pictures.
Style is everywhere!
Aw love his short pants and great nautical theme. amazed at how un-awful it looks. Love a man who can dress.
love the fashion kiwi

Nautical never goes out of style. Sailors are hot!

Updated Popeye, j'adore!
A nautical look with a hard edge. Love it.
I love florence style
This is awesome. I personally cannot pull off chinos, but he makes it look so good!

I normally think that a t-shirt with a jacket ALWAYS looks awful. But I think this works, because the neck of the t-shirt is so high. I believe the rule should be that the collar of the jacket should not touch the skin --that is, the shirt should always be between the jacket and skin. But certainly I'm no expert!
handsome meet mansome.
by chance will you be able to show us what's going on in London or in any of Africa's major cities?
i can't tell if this chap is tres a la mode, or wears this stuff every year - either way, i love it. amazing look. http://fsn.typepad.com/blog/
i love the shadow of suede that his hair is. it's so very strong when a man who has a receding hairline cuts all of his hair short rather than the cover-up. I am certain that it may be a difficult thing to see your hair leaving. as a woman it is exciting to see a man embrace the situation and run with it. i think because the choice to suede one's hair eliminates the internal conversation some might have about "does he know he's losing his hair or does he realize we can see past the comb-over?"
what a simple, yet amazing composition. Everything flows, and looks totaly stylish without trying hard in the least. Love the brass buttons. But what's that white thing in his mouth?
I love it and I love it!!!!!!!, Nice stripes, perfect blazer , the complete look is working!!! :)
reminds me of humphrey bogart!
Love how the stripes and blazer work together to create a nautical feel!

Yawn.
I believe the shoes are Jack Purcells.
That guy looks great!
even though I just wore something similar yesterday, I'm beginning to really get bored of just a plain striped t-shirt and a blazer , i was a tad hesitant to wear it , so i teamed it up with a cool belt. but i've been seeing it too much lately ,
you must have 6 people wearing that here.

confident. outfit works perfectly with his body type. would be so typical on most others. lovely movement in photo. thank you sir.
This man is stunning. Perfection sans the cig.
Good lord his testosterone has merlted my monitor!
Those tan cotton pants are fantastic, the colour makes blues pop and they aren't the dreaded chinos. I'd love to find some for my husband - anyone advise?
not a fan of double-breasted blazers, but this pic's making me reconsider.
you dont get to shhot aguy like this on everyday...
love the "navy style" vs the "hyper masculin (natural) look" of the guy
guapíssimo!
Amazing, 70+ comments and no one mentioned the obvious. Gaultier has been doing this look for (literally) decades! Which is not bad thing
Gobsmack'd
Russian sailor on liberty.

the two trends standing out to me this summer: sailor tops and madras.
the former is okay, as shown here, but madras I absolutely cannot take anymore of!
So stylish without looking like he's trying too hard.
double breasted peak with gold buttons? hmmm... I would perfer this blazer to be navy.
love how he integrates the khaki in the mix.
trop beau this man !
What a man.
What a MAN!
this is a number one....this is my friend...very cool!!!
Perfect set .. his attitude is also nice
great navy look with a touch of italian personality....
Most men I see around here aren't dressed to look good anymore. Merely walking statements! Anyone can make a statement but that doesn't necessarily make one look good.
Xavier
this chap is channeling Picasso with his stripes
Very good confidence level helps the good choices this handsome guy has made.
