Comments on "On the Street......Green & Blue Al Milano"
is that a jumper in the second picture? im confused!!
http://ohdearcharlotte.blogspot.com
cool! (woman with blue sweater)
its like a obi belt
Wow, great finds! It's amazing the kind of themes you run into in the street.
European men so know how to dress..these guys look fabulous. I love the deep green.

The lady in the second photo is so cool. She seems fun and energetic. And I love the color of her dres.. FAB!!

Love the rich green and blue combos repeated in both images..but adore the creative sweater carrying solution..
That woman in the second photo is amazing! The components of her ensemble appear so ordinary at first glance, and then suddenly they come together with such grace and elegance. Gorgeous.
Sartorialist is amazing. These images are so natural- the best thing about these pictures are the facial expressions, the fact that these people don't see fashion as "stuck up", it is a natural process, thank you for your work.
what a strange way to wear that jumper...anyway i like the combination: blue & green
i wish the guy on the right would have pulled up his trousers,
the man on the left is the whole point of the picture
Who are those two good-looking Italian boys?! Wherever they're going, I want to go, too.
Sig. Blue & Green - buy some summer socks or wear a lighter shoe.
Proper emperors news clothes turn out this whole sockless movement.
Don't misunderstand me, with a moccasin, a driving shoe, a pump - all good. But with a heavy Derby, Oxford etc. the balance is thrown as too as the function is being ignored.
wow. another stunner. 2 for 2 today! nicely done.
...btw, what cute black heels down there on the lower right...
beautiful colors! You have such a great eye - and thanks for picturing a woman with style who is not 20. We need all the inspiration we can get.
those are amazing navy pants.
Are they hemmed a special way or rolled?

What I fine so inetresting iis your focus is not on celebrities, which is very refreshing. Lisa Staples
The suede blouson jacket looks fantastic - we seldom see men wearing them here in the U.S. - yet another example of how we ought to take style cues from the Italians...

Love it! Very classic!
thanks Sart! incentive for me to lose weight and get my waistline back so i can wrap a sweater like green/blue lady! on a "more profound" note: beautiful colors - studied, but casual elegance. love this woman!
Love the guys outfits !:P
Those first two guys have got it completely right! For the woman, I think the idea is good, but it doesn't turn heads nearly as much as the mens' outfits do.

Love this green. So cool with yellow glasses and bic blue "belt"!
The guy on the right with the jeans on looks so cool and composed. Despite me thinking he's not the main intention of the picture; the chilled out aura he seems to radiate makes him stand out even more to me.
And the lady's idea of using her sweater to add a bit of flavour to her dress is simply amazing.
How devastatingly beautiful.
Oh i love your emphasis on everyday fashion! beautiful!
second picture, second picture - *gasp* - i love it!!!!!
I love green and blue! My favorite colors. Thanks for sharing with us.
how the woman tied on that sweater is so perfect..
love the man on the left in the first picture! it's interesting how his pants are cuffed and he's not wearing socks
http://fashionhandglide.blogspot.com
I am totally going to steal her sweater-tying idea.
My Favorite colors
The gentleman with the rolled up navy chinos and the green jacket looks sharp! I only wish the guy with the saggy jeans next to him was cropped out.
what kind of jeans brand does the guy wear?
WWWAAAHHHH!That's exactly the thing I like to see on this blog:well dressed people ,as Anitane said, so natural. The look of the men in Italy is wonderful and how inspiring (and inspired too).Fashion is about REAL people and not zombies-models on cold runaways.
Ladies I got a question for you.Do you think sartorialists are more attractive guys?
What a great way to carry around a sweater! I'm always stuck somewhere freezing to death and I hate bringing a sweater with me because I hate carrying it! Can't believe I had never thought of this before!
Some people say, "Blue with green should not be seen." But I say, "Green and blue: that'll do."
men with no socks and the jumper/cummerbund. This makes me very happy.
Just love the blue & green, especially her dress...have not seen it in awhile and I just love that you show us fashion of every age, every style preference....you are the best!
thank you............L
I love Milano, so many fashion trends are born there!
Michelle
Best sweater wrap technique ever! I am so stealing that!
Ciao, I've been living in Milano for 7 months now, what is with men not wearing socks in smart shoes?? loving the blue & green though! thank you for your beautiful blog, I'm addicted!
Seriously...how this woman can take two of the most preppy colors and combine them into Italian fashionista....love this look! I now know what to do with my sweaters!
i love the color combo...so fresh!

cuffed trousers...
the light in these photos is gorgeous and clear.
i like what the man on the left (first pic) is wearing. his blue trousers, slightly short and the shoes- somehow it just works.
This is pretty cool.
mmm...india green with emerald buttons...swoooooon
the guy in the first pic is perfect !!
...fit,color,proporcion,shoes,hair...
simple coolest !!

digging the fabulousness of the simple ensemble with outstanding colors!
and p.s. I think i might have to copy the way she wears her sweater around her waist!
I had never thought of that! very cool.
the gentlemen, both such simple getups but one so much more outstanding he out shines his friend.
looking at the two of fellows, I wonder for myself, is it time to give up jeans and wear a stylishly cut black pant? they are both as easy to wear but one seems so much more together. hhhmmmmm?
oh god i love the green jacket on the first picture!
I finally realized it. I have a problem with navy blue. It has always been... too close to black and clashes with it. But I'm seeing on this site that navy and black are being mixed. Sorry, can't deal with it... yet. Also, navy has airs. It's too crisp for it's own good. See, I've got a problem with it. Not that I love black all that much.
So with these two pics I prefer the bottom one because the blue is dark, but it's not navy. And I love the combo of that gorgeous green and blue. Really great! I'll look for pieces to do that with.
Showing just enough ankle, great look.
http://www.alistair1958.blogspot.com/
Beautiful, especially the second shot. Effortless, that's what makes it so.
http://thesophisticat.blogspot.com
the guy with the scarf is gorgeous.
This blog always makes me wonder where all the superbly-dressed people come from, ha ha. Fab!
Love your work.
Is their a correlation between smoking and looking smokin' hot?
Nice information provide by you.
You are doing very well job! keep it up.
you have managed to capture so many well groomed gentlemen; most recently first pic "green & blue al milano" and "modern sleek, milano" ... these gentlemen, and various others, outshine the gentlewomen :)
Oh SART!
Great shots as usual, but I miss your daily full coverage of Firenze, Milano and Paris. I checked your GQ Link, but just a slideshow with pictures from your main site.... We were so spoiled by you in the past....
Does anyone know what those jeans are?
Love these colours together!
www.notavailablesorry.blogspot.com
love too how you capture the way colors become seasonal trends in italy -- one year it is all navy and green, next year fuschia and grey might be everywhere...
I want that guy's green jacket.
Now that is adorable!
Nice!
People are suggesting the man in the jeans should have been left out of the picture, however the juxtaposition of the two styles is what makes them both work so well.
Also, that picture perfectly sums up what makes this blog so good - capturing the different levels at which style exists. Great!
Oh, I love green-blue combination!
Peace and love.
Renata!!!!!
the kelly green is fabulous!
Oooooo-la! Sir Sartorialist you've outdone yourself. Usually I think you do men much better than women. What I mean is, the men you capture are stunning icons of style; the women (for me) often don't quite suffice. But this woman is my favourite ever. Divine green dress, the best jumper-round-the-waist technique ever (I've already used it!) and the yellow/gold is picked up in her strappy shoes and specs. Bravissimo!
i would die for that green jacket!!!
anyone know what it is and where i could grab one!?
Beautiful boy, on the right in the first photo. Looks like my ex.. Can't really consider them "boys".
Gorgeous guys!! They look so effortlessly cool!
I didn't think it was possible, but someone has finally come up with a stylish way to tie their jumper around their waist!
Who is the guy on the left!!! I looove him!!So cute!!
I prefer the guy on the right!! Like this no jealous!!
I love the scarf of the guy on the right, does anyone know where it comes from?
to eduardo--- the scarf is by eairth from spring 2009 ---www.eairth.ph
The top gentleman's hais is so great!
21arrondissement.blogspot.com
i love the length of the mans pants.
Europeans are so adventurous but natural in their fashion selection.
Amazing! Do you think it was her intention to mimic an obi belt?
Kim,
www.runwayrundown.com
I like how the woman with the upper measurement to rival my own has tied her cardi into an obi-like belt.
is the guy on the right in the top picture wearing levi's red jeans?
there awsome jeans.
I like the combination of scarf/short-sleeve polo. Never thought they'd go together.
Blue/green. Never thought they'd go together.
But they work on them! Thanks Sart!
Maybe the green dress wearer is a cyclist? I tie my cardigan that way around when i'm wearing skirts or dresses, as it stops my skirt from riding up. Not quite so elegantly though, must try harder.
I love the way the woman tied the sweater around her waist. Practical yet chic.
The most amazing blends of color and sound I've seen in Italy are undoubtedly the most daring and elegant in terms of mixtures !!!!
That green jacket is soooo RICH! The color puts me in a good mood. Good morning.
The scarf on the guy on the right is awesome. And that green jacket on the guy to the left....delicious! So rich in color...its so eye popping!
What an original sweater carrying idea!!!, great picture!.
Jimena
What an origial sweater carrying idea!. Great picture!
Jimena
Whos is the guy on the right??? Love him!! look so cool!!
The guy on the left reminds me an awful lot of Pauly Shore. Although better-looking.
The Jeans are to be that way. Over there, the long crotch is the trend going on with denim.
His jeans aren't baggy!
Get with it people!
Now to only figure out what brand they are...
The lady with the sweater around her waist is inspiring. Inspiring because I had never thought of using a cast off sweater that way before!
go go green...
If you were to ever get serious about photography as a craft, you could do something worthy of August Sander, though I know that might be the furthest from your intentions.
Either way, glossing over your snapshots is always a pleasure. Thanks.
it´s unbelievable i loved this jacket from the first moment i saw it on this blog. not long time ago i found this jacket in milano in my size. it´s from lesentier.
i wore the jackets only a few times in front in the mirror and closed the buttons and then all the button seams unfasten. it was so an expensive jacket and such a poor quality :-(
