wonderful paisley isnt seen enough anymore..it can be timeless :)!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:26 AM) :

By all traditional thinking, this young woman is a splendid cacophony of what not to wear together--black felt hat, a print dress that could have easily been resurrected from a 1950s summer, black scarf, black hose, white sandals and flowers in her hair. Stuck on the cusp between winter and spring and ready to dive either way. Rather than comments on what she's doing wrong, I hope that people see her for what she truly epitomizes--the relentless hope that conditions will improve. But if not, she'll adjust. Human resiliency is a wondrous thing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 AM) :

It's too much! The flower in the air, the dress, the hose, the shoes. My eye doesn't know where to settle. She's enjoying herself but her appearance is the definition of "busy."

Blogger Virginia de la Reynares said ... (10:35 AM) :

Love how the dress makes you dizzy and the tights make it even better/worse.

Anonymous Hannah said ... (11:07 AM) :

I love having a glimpse into the trend-free side of fashion. She's absolutely stunning and her outfit and smile exude joy. Thanks for covering this event - I don't think I've seen so many consecutive smiles on a streetstyle blog!

Blogger Cleo said ... (11:20 AM) :

I love all of the separate pieces of this outfit, but am having a really hard time deciding what I think of all of them together. I think I'd like to see her standing up or in motion.

Blogger kristensta said ... (12:08 PM) :

Beeeeautiful! She must be from the South or something.

Anonymous pml said ... (12:23 PM) :

Wow. I gotta say I love your "On the Street" series of posts. Great to see different, individual styles of people in REALITY.

If anyone would like to post their own styles or works (if you design) peepmyline.com is a nice little community on the come up.

Anonymous Chago said ... (12:24 PM) :

The outfit is great. I think the blanket takes away from the great colors - it sort of blends the blues of her dress and tights. Had she been sitting on the grass the contrast would be more apparent.

I also think she'd look great without the piercing.

Her nails match perfectly!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

the tights are from FREE PEOPLE!

Blogger Bookworm said ... (12:30 PM) :

I'm not a big fan of the tights with the dress, but I love those vintage shoes, funky eye makeup, and bright flower! She just pops!

Blogger BlumeBloom said ... (12:34 PM) :

Excellent! She is a Beauty!

Blogger Caroline Bingley said ... (12:34 PM) :

"You're never fully dressed without a smile." It doesn't get better than this.

She makes up for the fact that so many of these fashion pictures are cluttered with faux somber expressions.

Anonymous Craig S. said ... (2:43 PM) :

I'm so glad you've been covering Gov's Island. I spent most of my time as a child there because my dad worked for the Coast Guard and I've always thought that it was one of the most beautiful gems in the city. I'm now in Oklahoma City, 13 years later, and your pictures bring out both the best of the island's beauty and some fantastic style shots. Thanks.

Blogger Eralda LT said ... (2:56 PM) :

Blogger Liz said ... (6:24 PM) :

For a women to wear an outfit of florals boy to you need BIG kahunas. This lovely lady just epitomizes understated cool. She has a great confidence about her and the mix of textiles in this photo is almost touchable. great photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:28 AM) :

so not mainstream. notice how the pink nails are the same as the pink dress. and the towel magnificently adds to the noisy colour.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 AM) :

Young, spirited, idiosyncratic - redefining what works and what doesn't. Don't fool yourself thinking her outfit is the result of an accident: note the eyeshadow and nailpolish. She is brilliant. Love her!

Blogger harps said ... (12:52 PM) :

beautiful tights!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:16 PM) :

Beautiful, daring and fun. It should inspire more of us to take fashion risks!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:24 PM) :

There's definately a lot going on in her outfit but I think it works and that she pulls it off. The colours are so pretty and I just love all the florals, especially her tights.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:02 PM) :

Those flowers in her hair are best of all. Followed by the matching fuschia eyeshadow.

(Although her smile may trump the fashion altogether).

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:35 PM) :

I'm not sure about the shoes, but I like that she has her own definite sense of style.

Also, J'ADORE this new seasonal trend among American women of wearing big flowers in the hair! It makes me anxious for summer to really get here!

It's a perfect outfit to make one feel serene and sweetly melancholic. Is there a specific name for the shoes? I thought it's oxford but I keep getting mixed feedback. thks!
