Comments on "On the Street......Floral Beauty, Governor's Island"

I love how she's wearing all floral, yet doesn't look tacky or OTT.
wonderful paisley isnt seen enough anymore..it can be timeless :)!
By all traditional thinking, this young woman is a splendid cacophony of what not to wear together--black felt hat, a print dress that could have easily been resurrected from a 1950s summer, black scarf, black hose, white sandals and flowers in her hair. Stuck on the cusp between winter and spring and ready to dive either way. Rather than comments on what she's doing wrong, I hope that people see her for what she truly epitomizes--the relentless hope that conditions will improve. But if not, she'll adjust. Human resiliency is a wondrous thing.
Picture perfect :-)

Nice image great colour
wow, I dont like it... :D
It's too much! The flower in the air, the dress, the hose, the shoes. My eye doesn't know where to settle. She's enjoying herself but her appearance is the definition of "busy."
Completely amazing! I love the flowers in her hair!!!
Completely amazing! I love the flowers in her hair!!!
The print/color of her dress and her makeup are wonderful.
Beautiful photograph. Gorgeous girl.
Perfection.
the colours of her dress look amazing together.
Love how the dress makes you dizzy and the tights make it even better/worse.
I love having a glimpse into the trend-free side of fashion. She's absolutely stunning and her outfit and smile exude joy. Thanks for covering this event - I don't think I've seen so many consecutive smiles on a streetstyle blog!
i love oversized flowers. this chic did it right.

I love love love those tights.
I love all of the separate pieces of this outfit, but am having a really hard time deciding what I think of all of them together. I think I'd like to see her standing up or in motion.
she is adorable.
So cute!
It's like grandma's homedress...
Super style, super combination! lovely!
Beeeeautiful! She must be from the South or something.
Wow. I gotta say I love your "On the Street" series of posts. Great to see different, individual styles of people in REALITY.
If anyone would like to post their own styles or works (if you design) peepmyline.com is a nice little community on the come up.
The outfit is great. I think the blanket takes away from the great colors - it sort of blends the blues of her dress and tights. Had she been sitting on the grass the contrast would be more apparent.
I also think she'd look great without the piercing.
Her nails match perfectly!
the tights are from FREE PEOPLE!
I'm not a big fan of the tights with the dress, but I love those vintage shoes, funky eye makeup, and bright flower! She just pops!
Excellent! She is a Beauty!
"You're never fully dressed without a smile." It doesn't get better than this.
She makes up for the fact that so many of these fashion pictures are cluttered with faux somber expressions.
Beautiful girl! Wonderful look...
beautiful!!, a great outfit.
I love her dress blue and pink perfect indeed!

Ohh, so beautiful!
pink eyeshadow - wheee! And check out those razor sharp eyebrows!

those tights are stunning
this girl must be some kinda special awesome! i bet she has a hairless cat at home or something equally as rare and amazing!
Excuse me? Nothing about this is good - she's young and beautiful dressed like her old granny.
I'm so glad you've been covering Gov's Island. I spent most of my time as a child there because my dad worked for the Coast Guard and I've always thought that it was one of the most beautiful gems in the city. I'm now in Oklahoma City, 13 years later, and your pictures bring out both the best of the island's beauty and some fantastic style shots. Thanks.
This is a gorgeous photographs, as are all of the Governor's Island series of photos. I love the colors, the smile, the sitting pretty. Perfect!
I like her makeup.
The color palette is beautiful. Not so sure about the dress though.
your photos always capture that beauty... cute outfit!

so pretty! i love all the patterns and that flower...
Her outfit is a vibrantly beautiful trip
I like the way her leaf and paisley stockings echo the leaf and paisley pattern in the dress.
For a women to wear an outfit of florals boy to you need BIG kahunas. This lovely lady just epitomizes understated cool. She has a great confidence about her and the mix of textiles in this photo is almost touchable. great photo.

Whoever said that she must be from the south just insulted the south. Fantastic makeup, love her eyebrows. I'll pass on the rest.

She is amazing!
So so cute!!
You always take fantastic pictures..greetings from California
Love the tights and the whole look. It's very unconventional.
Definetely beautiful...:))
Cheers
Monica
so not mainstream. notice how the pink nails are the same as the pink dress. and the towel magnificently adds to the noisy colour.
exactly that.

governor's island?! in NH by chance?
probably your most colourful pic of this month. :)
i am WILD about this look. so original, great mix of patterns and colors and styles! love it!
Young, spirited, idiosyncratic - redefining what works and what doesn't. Don't fool yourself thinking her outfit is the result of an accident: note the eyeshadow and nailpolish. She is brilliant. Love her!
beautiful tights!
Beautiful, daring and fun. It should inspire more of us to take fashion risks!
There's definately a lot going on in her outfit but I think it works and that she pulls it off. The colours are so pretty and I just love all the florals, especially her tights.
- Charlotte. =].
the mix is great. Love the entire outfit.

Those flowers in her hair are best of all. Followed by the matching fuschia eyeshadow.
(Although her smile may trump the fashion altogether).
I'm not sure about the shoes, but I like that she has her own definite sense of style.
Also, J'ADORE this new seasonal trend among American women of wearing big flowers in the hair! It makes me anxious for summer to really get here!

STUNNER.
she has such a pretty smile.
the outfit is too much though. either have just the flower & dress or the dress and tights. shoes are cute too.
Those flowers in her hair are too cute! I love the colors!
Adoreable. I want her whole outfit.
i love you photos sooo much! they're amazing!
It's a perfect outfit to make one feel serene and sweetly melancholic. Is there a specific name for the shoes? I thought it's oxford but I keep getting mixed feedback. thks!
aah my eyes are aching!
nice smile :)
