he sat in front of me with a girlfriend, I was with my mom and we thought that he was very beautiful in a very special way and his hair was beautiful !

His hair is fantastic. The same outfit would not be so hot in someone more normal-looking. In other words, he gets away with murder. A tipped collar polo with a double-breasted pinstripe jacket and jeans??? I do, however, intend to adapt this with items more suitable to my frame. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

When you have hair like this (as I do, mine is probably kinkier) you have to let it do its thing. The last time a stylist tried to blow dry my hair he gave up half way through - no lie. This beast will not be trifled with.
It is its own entity, it forces its will as it pleases, it does not conform to style or fashion or even the opinions of the person beneath it. It must be free to roar.
Funny thing is that all the wresting and fighting I've done with it all my life was s in vain, now hardly a day goes by when I don't get a compliment on it in its natural, wild, bushy state. People dig it... of course, they don't have to live with it either.
Free the fro!

Though I wonder about your assumptions that my statement couldn't have come from a person of color.
If it helps to clarify, I am black and have proudly worn my hair nappy and groomed for 20 years. I mention that his hair is a mess because his curls are well, not curly - nothing about his genes.
However, I appreciate all the same your pov. It is part of the greatness of being able to share opinions on this blog. Which before now, never questioned or judged anyone's ethnicity, skin color nor race nor gender nor orientation and I am sad that now there is this topic from a fellow reader.

Speaking as a man who had hair just that colour I can honestly say that this fellow is to be admired. The amount of grief that one goes through as a teenager (especially as a boy) tends to make one shy about making a feature of one's red hair. Unlike this chap who clearly has said to himself "sod the lot of them!"
Well done, and by the way the colour usually fades so make the most of it - mine faded so much that by my thirties people assumed i had a really good highlight job -think Boris Becker.
