On the Street......Young Sydney, Sydney

I don't know if this shot is from the fashion editor, the photographer or the dad in me. This young lady just looked so charming with her cute but quiet style that I had to take the shot. Maybe it is as simple as I just wanted to share a portrait of a very cool kid from Sydney.

I think you need to be all three (father, fashion editor and photographer) to have captured that enviable moment.

Anonymous melissa said ... (11:53 AM) :

what a sweet photo. thanks for keeping this blog up to date whenever you can, wherever you can.

i like looking at your photographs as fashion photography, but also photography about life and how each face has a different story to tell. your photographs never fail to cheer me up - even in my less than happy moments they always seem to take my mind off things even if for a while.

i know you get many compliments and am unsure as to whether you have time to read them all but if you do read this, i hope this can be a source of encouragement to you too. i hope this little comment can add a little colour into your world as much as your blog has added into mine :)

hope to see you in more parts of england soon!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:42 PM) :

wow i have that exact same watch! now i feel less dorky wearing it heheh ^^ its not limited, NVA...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:25 PM) :

She's very cute and I love the watch. But if you wanted plaid shirts and toques you should have come to Canada. On that note I've never understood the wearing of toques (aka. winter hats) in the summer.

PS. we don't really wear plaid all that much, I don't think so anyway.

PSS. I still like the Photo. Keep them coming!

Blogger crystal said ... (12:37 AM) :

apparently, vingate casios are the word du jour lately :)

Anonymous Ayla said ... (9:28 AM) :

she looks like a star in an independent movie, lika a younger Natalie Portman, or what she would have looked like in a follow-up of Leon. so sweat.

Blogger Agathe PHILBÉ said ... (9:45 AM) :

only peole that are less than 20 have that kind of smart innocence in their eyes... great shot!

Anonymous Kate G. said ... (12:07 PM) :

I've always held to the belief that it takes a real person to shoot a real person. Many photographers never come out from behind the lense. I've seen many brilliant shots from a technical stand point, but it takes a heart to capture a heart on the page.

I love the gawky colt feel of her hands and legs. Good spot!

Anonymous JennyMac said ... (3:39 PM) :

Not just Natalie Portman, but Natalie Portman in "Beautiful Girls."

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:56 PM) :

that's a very charming photo and I think the watch is definitely an eye-catcher.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (6:25 PM) :

such a cute kid!

It´s probably the father in you. I´m sure it was.

Anonymous Lydia said ... (3:14 AM) :

The look is made by the up-rolled sleeves I belive. That's so nice for a lady as she looks at the same time manishly resolute and fragile. The knitwear on her head pretends to be vintage)

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:03 AM) :

cool, sweet, spunky, fresh- so nice! esp the gold digital watch. lovely style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

I actually saw this girl walk past my work with her mum and she made me stop what i was doing and watch her gracefully cross the street. I don't know her but her elegance and beauty is shocking, even from a distance.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:42 AM) :

Blogger linda said ... (10:54 AM) :

Blogger Virgin Mary said ... (3:49 PM) :

she could be a young Natalie Portman...

Blogger John Danner said ... (5:40 PM) :

First thought that popped in my head looking at this was young contemporary Edie Beale.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:08 PM) :

I saw creativity and style in my 8 year old since she was 4. I think this is innate, as you've captured here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:36 PM) :

hmm.... i don't really like this outfit... probably because i am in high school and everyone wears flannel shirts, jeans, knit hats, (and UGGS!), but i like the watch and i like her!

Blogger noelakadjtambour said ... (2:03 AM) :

she is cool in the way only young kids can be: so unassuming, so unself-conscious, so unhampered by rules
