Comments on "On the Street.....Winter Scarf, Summer Style, Sydney"
the perfect balance of the fall and spring. pretty.
Gorgeous! The color combo is stunning.
I love this! =)
So proud of our down under style. Apparently we aren't that far away after all :)
fantastic outfit. i especially adore the heeled oxfords with the billowy harem pants.
perfect!
xox.
The Voguette
Love her. Beautiful colors without overdoing it.
Aladdin's clothes,
Peter Pan's hair,
and Mary Poppins's shoes.
love how her shoes change the entire feel of the outfit!
Wow, I can only say it is amazing-the colours and the picture itself!
She's so pert and adorable - love her bob, calm expression, mixture of colors (pink shirt, light blue purse and light blue on her cool shoes). The draped scarf is gorgeous. Just noticed the brown sleeves. But the pants are atrocious.
Nice mix, relax and she looks beautiful!
Oh wow, what a fabulous, gorgeous pair of shoes! Love them at first sight, just like I loved Dorothy's ruby red shoes in The Wizard of Oz!
Gorgeous colours! i love her scarf - she has draped it perfectly. Those shoes with the pants work well but are unexpected - i like that - they provide a good balance. She looks great!
What a great shot. That scarf works so well with her shoes! Love her ethereal loose sexy clothes and bag in the parklike grounds. Great length and color of her hair. She actually looks a bit like Ingrid Bergman or Isabella Rossellini.
love the colors - especially the scarf in contrast with her hair!
so bohemian, so chic
there is nothing wrong with this outfit. I am all over it.
Cutest shoes ever, ever, ever.
Love it all ...the photo and the scarf, and most of all the way she has put herself together.
those pants... what a flop!
Wonderful upper half, so elegant and relaxed, with such a fresh balance of textures and colours. The shoes provide a playful formal accent. But I think we might all like this outfit less if we saw her walking in those bedsheet pants.
beautiful casual look - the colors are gorgeous and the shoes make it perfect.
Like the harem pants - shoes combo... the scarf only so-so...
By the way--did you take any pics during the Cutler Co party??? Post a few!!!!
Beautiful colors in this photo. I love that there are like a dozen different shades of green! Her teal scarf with the olive jacket is gorgeous.
Well, well, well and sigh...I look at these pix for style and/or fashion inspiration. I'm not finding a whole lot in Austrailia. Perhaps it's me and I'm unable to tune into the current zeitgeist that is Astrailia. The people look healthy and fit like Southern Californians, I like that...
so casual and chic. beautiful shot.
Love everything about this photo. =)

I love her shoes, awesome...

great shirt/scarf. now, if only we got rid of one palette to make it less busy.
i love the shoes and i love them more with the pants!
Wonderful! Totally! Bohemian chic, and she is so cute. Love the shoes, the trousers, the scarf, and her face. This girl is really a pretty one.
marc jacobs shoe. i believe fall 07.
like the shoes!
She's very cute!
What an amasing outfit! Artistic..
Mir those pants are not those that I love .. but I love this look! everything is quite right!
;-)
Love every element and love the shoes, but love them separately from the outfit...for me they somehow don't quite jive. The scarf is amazing. The shot itself is quite stunning.
Overall, style down under is definitely cool. You should come 'up above' to Canada someday.
All these photos of Sydney reveal a remoteness that I can't quite pin point. Everyone seems a hair out of touch...maybe that is la moda there?!
They are stylish, but seem to lack edge or sex appeal....maybe I have just been in NYC too long...
oooooooooh love the outfit
Love love love this. When visiting Vienna with one of my more stylish friends recently, I was surprised when she ranted about the popularity of drop-crotch pants, equating the look to a diaper. I insisted to her that they can be incredible sleek, stylish, and feminine, you just need to be able to work them. I wish I had just had this picture in my pocket :). Also a stunning display of personal style: you can tell from her eyes that this outfit is a perfect painting of who this woman is and how she felt that day.
Pretty colors. The shoes and bag just seem out of place-a small vintage clutch and simple greek sandals would have been just perfect.
I love it! The colors are so improbably, but they look amazing together! And the loose proportions are lovely. I have a scarf about half that big and it is the most functional piece of clothing ever.
An interesting solution to the classic conundrum: How to dress between seasons when temperatures swing through wild flucuations and the threat of sudden discomfort is high.
I swear, this girl has an absolutely adorable face.
This is beautifully relaxed. The flow and drape of all of the garments is exquisite.
That scarf is beautiful. I wonder what the fiber content is? I wonder if it's handwoven. I wonder if I can ever weave something like that?
Love the scarf
good style!!
love it all except the shoes. The shoes really don't do it in my opinion. She's really pretty though, go us Aussie girls!
Fashionwise, I think she's got way too much goin' on...
Love the rich coloured scarf, wrapped so perfectly, and gorgeous against that striped top!
xx
I love the scarf, but the pants could be darker, maybe a brown-blue stripe or marl to pull it all together! Her style is brave though!
the PANTS.
love the shape
I think she has a bit of a kooky art/drama teacher vibe going on, but the shoes kinda sorta balance that out a bit. I love her hair, though.
I love this, i like how the colors end up working and being a new combination. it's very unique. thanks for the inspiration!
This is just fantastic.
nice pants
I know her, her name's Lia-Belle King. Cute.
She's cute and the scarf is gorgeous - too bad about the rest of the outfit.
I love this outfit. Everything from the proportions to the color palette is so beautifully put togeather... I really like it!
http://bsasjournal.blogspot.com
gorgeous all the way.. i cud never mix things like that :(
i love the colours! how inspiring. i think its a mixture of spring and fall. not much of summer tho.
really liking it - hi lia!! (a friend from jkt)
Droppy, poopy pants look...entrancing.
mythical shilouette ..
I <3
FvaD!
great mix and love the scarf, darker is better! the white trouser's shape is great with shoes like that! love the coolness attitude by the bag and the jewel, more the hait dress is great too
yes - she looks lovely, but i know i would just feel like a sack of potatoes in trousers like that!
what is it that can make them look ok ? a fabulous no-doubts-about-it skinny bod maybe ?
: D
very awesome and unique
i love the fact that her style and outfit appear so effortless. just beautiful.
the pants & the scarf
and she is cute
Lovely shoes!!!
xo xo
beautiful, the green scarf on the white trousers..love it
DAMN I MISSED YOUR PARTY!
argh, i wish we cud meet you before my best friend leaves to london for good! we're your biggest groupies!
gaz
The drape of the shirt against the billowing pants is definitely nice and says summer. Not sure about the jacket and scarf combo which might be fine in fall. Shoes are great but not with this outfit.
good!!! I couldn't pass.
lovely from head to foot :)
(sorry. I'm not good at English)
good! I couldn't pass

love the entire outfit!

Simple Bohemian ease...., could be a character out of a Woody Allan movie
Love the shoes, the scarf, the top...not a fan of the pants, maybe a bit too wide ;)

Someone anon said "They are stylish, but seem to lack edge or sex appeal....maybe I have just been in NYC too long..."
Well, to a large degree that is very true - primarily as Sydney fashion is based around comfort. I know the saying "beauty is pain", but I think a lot of Aussies have moved beyond that - it is the evolution of fashion with comfort. The edge comes from the natural sexiness that exudes from an sunny and healthy climate, not from channeling ones inner pole-dancer ;-) And sadly our season is 6 months behind Europe and the US - it requires originality to look original in the Sth Hemisphere!
Love the pants and shoes. And, the constrasting light and dark feeling of it all.
I love the volume going on, anchored by the slim, structured shoe. I do like feeling swathes of fabric about the body.
Nice combination, love the scarf!
The attitude is great, but please come back to Melbourne where there's much more edge to the considered winter street style. Linda B.
i agree with all the comments above in regards to her outfit, but what i found really beautiful is the background. the softness and richness of it. it is almost like a painting. bravo mr.
i dont particularly like the outfit, but this girl has 100x more pizzazz then the majority of people i see in sydney on my day to day travels. how are you finding such stylish people!
It looks so comfy!
The girl in the green scarves! ;)
Beautiful. Flowy and easy.
great photo. setting is amazing. this mix actually works on her.
i just looooooooove those pants!!
she looks really cool and relaxed. i love her pants <3
Oh I wished I'd been at your party in Melbourne! I'm sure it was filled with beautiful examples of Australian style...definately next time!
Love this look. I've seen those shoes around and could only imagine them with fitted, 40's style clothing. She really has changed the way I view them. Great creativity with the combonation of shapes and colours.
In fact, I love her short hairstyle.
and her outfit is pretty cool!
I love the way she dresses !
My God, the translucence of that scarf takes my breath away :)
I love the loose flowing lines of the clothes. It emphasizes the ease that she is standing with and the comfort that she is dressed for. The heels add an unexpected sharpness to the outfit along with the short cropped hair that stop the outfit from turning into the otherwise bohemian look. Very nice!
very spring! very fresh...
:)
The perfect balance of not only spring and fall, but cute and casual.
This is really cute. I'd dying for a pair of harem pants but alas, they don't suite me.
http://whatsontheoutside.blogspot.com/
wow...
I love this harem pant and shawl to match together.
Loving it. :))
Really nice picture. Good work!
I love the summer scarfs! Very pretty.

The general look sounds familiar to me, that's exactly the way so many girls dress up in spring time here on my little mediterranean island, but forget those terrible shoes! What about wedges?
What I've been enjoying about your blog, other than the subject matter, which is fun, is the photography.
when are u coming back to ny ???
My sister wears winterscarfs, even when it´s 80 degrees outside.
love the ensemble. the scarf is a nice addition of texture and color. the pants look stylish and comfy.
Fabulous!
I've always been a big fan of the summer scarf look, and I definitely think it's time for the resurgence of Hammer pants! Faboosh indeed!

that color combination is beautiful! wonderful photo, as always.
http://erosandthewhale.blogspot.com/
i LOVE this outfit! it's aawesome!
Her white paints give the impression that she's vanishing...
wow, love it.
digging the shoes!
Loving the shoes & scarf. The pants... gotta go!
Sart, I hadn't been missing sydney too much until you post these images of the fantasmic blue skies, the dry eucalyptus backdrop, the opera house, all that jazz. so now i have a third love (after my two grandmothers) that i miss about sydney: the blue sky!
when are you coming back to the city to hang out?
Sweet zombie jesus, those pants are terrible.
the colors...the layers...the hair, ADORE!
but would probably go with another pair of shoes though...doesn't seem to work out with her amazing clothes.
in between.
Love everything about this outfit except the shoes. Beautiful, chic pieces.
http://www.fashionroadkill-halifax.blogspot.com
so well put together. love the balance of color, texture and the tiny stripe makes it! she's flawless to me.
Nice mix, relax and she looks beautiful!
Free movies download
great neclace
i love that she looks a bit swallowed up/enveloped by her outfit. yay Sydney!
The shoes make this look so fantastic.
Great shoes!
MARC JACOBS SHOES!
i want the scarf and the shoes !!!!
Love the shoes on this one. (I see that I am not alone in that sentiment.)
I would never wear harem pants myself but that's only because I could never carry off the look like she does. The juxtaposition of her hands casually in her pocket and the boho scarf paired with these heel are awesome - she totally works this outfit. And the expression on her face, great! I love to see people take the time to play around with fashion and not be so safe. Thanks Scott!
Really Love her scarf and her trousers
Nice girl
Love the combination of colors and silhouettes! This is one of the few times I've seen harems worn without seeming like the wearer is trying too hard.
I think it takes real guts to wear an outfit like this. The combination of colours and fabrics are unusual and beautiful.
I love this site because it forces people to be more accepting of global style. I say lets appreciate people who dare to wear, and not condemn them as some previous comments have because we wouldn't wear it ourselves. Thankyou Sartorialist for posting a beautiful Aussie girl.
I know her! Liabelle! Lovely as ever!
I think Sydney style is very underrated - it has a cool confidence that can be overlooked by UK/US fashion world - thanks for reminding us!
p.s. I miss Sydney...
love this look...
does anyone know who these pants are by?? i just have to own them!
thanks!
xox
I love her style she look so casual and very confident in her own style.
this makes me proud.. of my country.. sometimes if fashion tv is on, they present australia as this horrible trash/sex scene with no style. Satorialist has proven that wrong.. thanks
this is absolutely breathtaking!
she seems almost angelic and ethereal
like by applying the denim color around her neck within the scarf and the stark comfy white at her legs and feet, completely opposite of a heavy affect..vvery light
says the self proclaimed stylist student haha
:)
She is so cute!!!
I love it!
i love the marc jacobs shoes!
The perfect in-between season outfit.
You just don't see fashion like this in California, where designer flip flops reign supreme! :)
0mar
shoes the best..
Sooo beautiful.
Love the top half - very mysterious and fairytale-esque. However the hareem pants and shoes i'm not too sure about... but interesting non-the-less; she certainly has a very unique style!
leanne :)

One of those outfits I just look at and instantly love. I would never think of putting something together like this. She has a real Scandanavian look about her outfit and the bottle-jade scarf is just really exquisitely wow. Fashion inspiration and totally adorable style!
Comme des garcons pants i beleive..
This scarf looking good on you. Nice photo.
I love the color of the scarf! It is so unusual. Cool chunky heels. Winter scarves can be really fun when you work on it!
She looks so fresh with short yellow hair.
The loveliest fashion scarf color - teal. I have a teal pashmina from Yours Elegantly that I bought online last week. Awesome so I guess teal is a color I love and can't resist. The overall look is so adorable and stylish.
Comme des garcons pants i beleive it..
