That is an incredibly awesome coat. I love she can make something so... old look so rebellious. :D

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:45 AM) :

classic! The boots set it off

Blogger Oh Dear Charlotte said ... (9:47 AM) :

Been missing your posts the last few days! Love the coat- looks like its velvut? Fit for a kingdom!

Blogger kittenmasks said ... (9:48 AM) :

I love her hair! It reminds me of that old school Pepsi commercial where the woman walks into a barber shop and gets her hair chopped off into a short bob before enjoying an ice cold Pepsi.

Blogger Roxanne said ... (9:49 AM) :

I love Myf Sheperd! The colours work beautifully.

Blogger Old Housecoat said ... (9:51 AM) :

It's all so fab! What exactly is she wearing on her legs? Might those be pantaloons?

Blogger Lucy said ... (9:55 AM) :

Beautiful! =)

Blogger Hanna Persson said ... (10:03 AM) :

I love people who're not afraid to do thier own thing!

Blogger Yana said ... (10:05 AM) :

I wonder what she feels like, what she does in life... What does she want to express with this outfit? To me it looks very strange (not in a bad way, - just a surprised and wondering kind of way...). It's irritating and provoking. Very courageous :)

Blogger Pricciao said ... (10:08 AM) :

lovely style, lovely Myf!
but i think a ponytale would be fitter for that style

Anonymous Esmoquin room said ... (10:10 AM) :

I think it's great the combination of colours. The coat is very chic. And those short (?) are really nice.

Best!

Blogger Crimsonite said ... (10:20 AM) :

:O she's got the hair style I'm currently sporting, I call it the shark fin. Her outfit is very refined; you can feel her signature scribbled all over it, because I'm she, and she alone can pull this look off. Her watch is the only thing that seems out of place, yet it's not something you would realise, until someone took a photo of her. Great post!

I wonder how representative the australian shots are...'cause if a good number of people are so cool, it would be worthwhile to go spend some time in Sydney... I agree, the buttoned-up shirt creates a good balance with the very casual -rest. posted from Chicago...city in search of more style.

Blogger The Voguette said ... (10:24 AM) :

the shorts are my favorite they complete that outfit for me.

amazing suede detailing on the coat as well.

love the whole look!

I love whatever it is she's wearing on her legs under that shirt and the reckless look of the whole outfit. The colors in this photo are amazing, well done.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:31 AM) :

wow, did this just come off a runway!!?

Blogger junglesiren said ... (10:42 AM) :

A very charming personal look.

Don't try this at home kids -- it's a look you can't just wear you've got to BE.

If I were to read a description of the outfit I don't think it would translate but seeing this girl (model?) with my own eyes I'm completely disarmed.

Love it.

Anonymous suzanne nelson said ... (11:11 AM) :

That coat is completely to die for. i'm intrigued by the fabric i'd love to touch it! I agree with
kagitsune 9.44am, she's wearing a floral print and some wonderful shorts (vintage underwear?)and makes it look so edgy, a bit subversive. A female counterpart to Adam Ant in his early eighties heyday! Perfect backdrop too.

Blogger indigo warrior said ... (11:24 AM) :

That is one outrageous look. Crazy bloomers and striped socks! And finally, some buttons.

Blogger The Comet said ... (11:28 AM) :

the color composition is like an old school still life.. lush fruit resting..

Blogger Ivan McK said ... (11:29 AM) :

Her hair sort of makes the outfit... like one previous commentor stated, i love how she can make it all look so rebellious.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:46 PM) :

Forget about her outfit (I mean it is fantastic) but her HAIR is where it's at!!!

Blogger Rico said ... (2:01 PM) :

What I find striking about this series of photos is how very different the light is. I have wondered at times whether you were using a different camera, but ultimately realized it was truly just the light. This seems to affect people's color pallets. Though the looks are often parallel to what we might see in other places, the color sense does seem slightly different. I'm wondering if you have picked up on this?

Anonymous kristine said ... (2:32 PM) :

horrible. is it fashion to wear random stuff just to look different?

Blogger Soren Lorensen said ... (2:46 PM) :

Blogger K'arhol said ... (2:51 PM) :

but it looks just pretty

Blogger Philippe said ... (3:00 PM) :

I'm not a Doc Martens addict but it's an nice part of the fashion history...
Anyway I really like this pix, not because of her outfit (which is cool especially haircut and jacket), because of her face... she appears to be so strong and powerful...that carries everything...

Blogger just.a.train said ... (10:11 PM) :

I love the boots. And to me, the coat gives her outfit a civil war kind of look.

Blogger CW said ... (10:12 PM) :

The coat is OK. The shoes work well for her. The rest....not so much.

Anonymous deborah cooke said ... (11:20 PM) :

Some of us wear clothes, some of us own what we wear ... model Myf just completely rocks in this. The shorts, the coat, the Docs. Style that you simply can't learn.

Anonymous geezi said ... (12:31 AM) :

I think the look means nothing if the boots or hair were any different!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 AM) :

I would never have had the stylish ingenuity to even imagine these pieces together but she pulls it off and looks effortlessly friggin amazing at the same time!

Anonymous Peta said ... (1:32 AM) :

Yes, she's a beautiful girl and no doubt she could wear anything and look amazing. Well, almost.....so, maybe I'm the only one here but I think the outfit would look that much more amazing with one or two more contemporary elements (other than her hair) to contrast the overall vintage feel. A different top and a really striking bold piece of jewelery would highlight the coat even more- but this is just my opinion :)

So...um...Scott, there are a lot of pictures of Sydney siders but very few Melbournians to be seen......is this because you saved them all for your Saba campaign? Or will we see some on the blog soon? The suspense is killing me!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:05 AM) :

The coat looks very Heimstone from Paris.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:07 AM) :

East West Leather Co.?

Blogger Jadore-Fashion said ... (2:30 AM) :

love the shoes!!

Anonymous Chalaceeeeee said ... (3:09 AM) :

That coat is freakn awesome!!!!

Blogger Petulia said ... (4:53 AM) :

it really seems like fashion is Australia is more relaxed..I am not seeing a lot of structured -tailored looks. No heels, very chill:-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:46 AM) :

I enjoy the shorts she has but I'm undecided as to whether I like them with this outfit. Her skin is beautiful, though and she can clearly put together an outfit but I'm not sure about the watch...

Either way, I love the Docs I think they make this outfit. I've been looking for a good second-hand pair so that I don't have to break them in!

Blogger Sushi said ... (6:47 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:58 AM) :

hmmm not a fan, sorry.
she look like she's part of some photo shoot rather than "on the street"

btw, when are you going to post some more pics from melbourne???

Anonymous Amy said ... (9:07 AM) :

I don't care for the shoes. The coat is okay. Not my favorite outfit. Australia is a bit separated from the rest of the world. I know cuz I used to live there.

Blogger Wondering Woman said ... (9:22 AM) :

She looks like she just got caught rummaging in the dumpster in the alley.

Blogger doingtheunstuck said ... (1:48 PM) :

Great style. She looks like she just stepped off a runway—so put together. Smart color choices, and those shorts are awesome. (You picked a wonderfully complimentary background)...I wish I could tell what that is on her necklace.

Anonymous STORM of London said ... (3:51 PM) :

This coat is awesome and goes perfectly with her shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:11 PM) :

the outfit not so much. the teen angst and social disagreement? YES!!!!

Blogger Olviya said ... (4:32 PM) :

very interesting make up and hair...
looks bit gothic, no?

Blogger Mimi said ... (8:58 PM) :

great look from myf!

not necessarily representative of australian style in the SLIGHTEST (she's now based in new york, correct me if im wrong)

never would wear it myself, but some models can make anything look good :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:00 AM) :

Why does everyone love Myf Shepherd so much? I really don't see anything special...

Blogger Susie said ... (6:15 AM) :

OMG! I had this coat or one almost exactly like it. It was in the early 70's and mine was suede. Even back then it was so cool, but its cooler now. Wish I would have kept it!

"Why does everyone love Myf Shepherd so much? I really don't see anything special..."

Does that mean that you can't see the personality piercing through the screen? Or the vibrant style with the I-don't-give-a-damn attitude?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:52 PM) :

The Coat is American Retro FW 2005- I have one.

Great look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 PM) :

maybe I should get myself a pair of Doc Marten's. they're cool

Blogger C A said ... (9:29 PM) :

Blogger Tiffyee said ... (10:31 PM) :

Myf looks gorgeous!

Anonymous Mich said ... (5:43 PM) :

Ohhh...definately NOT MY STYLE. I don't think it's great fashion to just put on random pieces from grandpa's closet. but well, we are all different...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

hi this is really amazing

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 AM) :

it's a bit ridiculous

given that models can wear anything...it's sort of like... do you have to flaunt it like this? I'd rather see her in black jeans and a white t shirt.

the necklace is a little...odd. umm

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:13 AM) :

perfect Hippy Grunge, although a bit polished. In India, sabyasachi would be inspired :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:15 PM) :

TO LAST ANON:

So are you saying that models can't have they're own style.. You'd prefer them all to walk around wearing jeans and white tshirts? Thats the most ridiculous thing ive ever read on a fashion blog. I love the fact that she does have a sense of personal style and isnt just relying on her physical appearance.

Blogger creative cookie said ... (11:33 PM) :

love love love this.

Blogger Annmarie said ... (9:55 AM) :

my favourite!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:01 PM) :

Are we sure this is not a Heimstone coat? If it is not, it very well could be...for those of you diggin the coat check out Paris design duo Heimstone and you'll see why.

Blogger Gladys said ... (4:13 AM) :

i like the way she looks more than anything else.

Anonymous Diana said ... (10:57 PM) :

I don't know if anyone said this already, but this picture has the same coat:
http://streetpeeper.com/fashion/myf-shepherd-model
It's the same area of syndney too, although the girl looks pretty different, but I feel like it has to be the same girl

Blogger booradley said ... (5:10 AM) :

IT'S NOT A VINTAGE COAT!! I can't remember who makes it, but I saw it in an Australian magazine very recently. It's chic, but definitely not vintage.
