I love this style and her hair is so modern.Simple and Chic!!!!!!!

Anonymous Elaine said ... (10:30 AM) :

What a wonderful hair style. Love the black and white outfit, the white trim at the hem of the skirt, and the extra-long sleeves used as a muff. It's nice to see comfortable flat shoes for a change.

Anonymous AMY said ... (10:31 AM) :

Love, love, love the entire outfit! I wish I could see what type of bag she is wearing. Does anyone know where she got these shoes? Is the skirt actually two skirts? Adorable!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:33 AM) :

Nice haircut. But I think her clothing could be more flattering.

Blogger miss sophie said ... (10:36 AM) :

i'm not that tall, so i almost always avoid long skirts past my ankles. but on her the long skirt and oversize cardigan goes really well with her features. her outfit is almost like an extension of her own features. such a comfy and intellectually chic look!

Blogger Joyce said ... (10:36 AM) :

Love her hairstyle... and the whole classic look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:50 AM) :

An example where a great haircut makes all the difference.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:54 AM) :

she is so beautiful, she reminds me of a japanese geisha

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:18 AM) :

Wow! What a stunning beauty! Her style shows a lot of personality which is very important in my eyes. Moreover that asymmetrical, fashionable haircut fits her perfectly. Love it! It's awesome, indeed.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:24 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:30 AM) :

Oh my...her style is so 'fresh, clean and suits her....head to toe.perfection..thank you.....

Blogger cathycathycathy said ... (11:30 AM) :

Everything about this is absolutely gorgeous.

Anonymous style Ph.D. said ... (11:35 AM) :

She looks wonderful, and especially against the warm tones of the reddish brick and stone.

As a silhouette I find it a little less than it could be--although this may have to do with the pose. One wants a little more narrowness at the bottom to balance the bulk of the cardigan. But if she were to stand differently, or walk or sit, the skirt might conform to her body more, and provide that relief to the eye. Anyway a good example of an Asian woman working her look, and taking advantage of Japanese design.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 PM) :

I really love her hair

God I love this shot. Something about her expression and her arms, the DOF, and the angles of the building.

Anonymous T o n j e said ... (12:36 PM) :

Wow, so clean..

Blogger Miiicha said ... (12:37 PM) :

ooh ! I love how the red brick wall makes her and her clothes stand out more.

Blogger Johanna said ... (12:50 PM) :

Stunning hair and stance.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:52 PM) :

I like this one, except for the hair style.

It's nice to see the modern take on traditional styles. Or is it traditional styles using modern garments? Which ever, it works.

Anonymous angie said ... (1:02 PM) :

Oh no! I don’t like the outfit at all. It's SO unstructured. I love an unstructured voluminous outfit but this is just unflattering. But I love her hair and she is a beautiful gal, who turns heads for sure.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:09 PM) :

wow. she looks remarkable. the hair is AMAZING. women can be much more seductive when covered up.

for me, this type of modesty and grace = true style.

Blogger cmc said ... (1:12 PM) :

with that haircut, she could make anything work. it doesn't hurt though that she's wearing a great cardi!

Anonymous princess glee said ... (1:15 PM) :

The picture captures a chilled, silent kind of mood. Simple color, simple lines, stripes on a sweater. Spare is good.

Anonymous suzanne nelson said ... (1:18 PM) :

i love everything about this photo, especially her hair and skirt. the girl is beautiful, she looks so serene and elegant. for me, there's something very unexpected about this image, i feel very surprised - in a really good way!

she looks so graceful. like a ballerina.

Anonymous cleeoo said ... (2:32 PM) :

Whaouuuuu ! j'adore cette élégance simple !

Blogger RUinSTYLE said ... (3:01 PM) :

First off her hair looks fantastic. Very chic. Secondly, I love her outfit. It's very difficult to pull this off as there is no tailoring and can create a shapeless figure but she successfully looks charming and stylish in a carefree and subtle way. Very knowingly breaking the concept of fashion and it's ridiculous 'rules'. I say thumbs up!

Blogger me said ... (3:03 PM) :

Beautiful. The hair, face, placement of her feet and the whole modern take on a classical contrapposta really add so much to this image aside from the clothing.

Blogger An (ex) alien in new york said ... (3:22 PM) :

The haircut, the lighting and the attitude. That's what makes this.

Blogger SavvyApprentice said ... (3:34 PM) :

great black-white coordination. the hair goes perfectly with the outfit.. and look at those lips... pure beauty

Anonymous Dina said ... (3:45 PM) :

I like that you can see her black Peds peeking at the edges of her flats..

that's how I wear mine too.

Blogger Nadine said ... (4:11 PM) :

Stunning. Obviously she is very beautiful, but I also love her short hair, off-white stiped cardi, long skirt, the trim on the skirt (swoon!) and the flat shoes. She looks incredible and unique but also comfortable and practical - a remarkable achievement.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:29 PM) :

love her face and hair the most in this pic!

Blogger indigo warrior said ... (4:43 PM) :

The photo is stunning.

She is way past fashionable or stylish. She has something few people have. She's positively elegant. Who can pull that off these days?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:59 PM) :

Composed and graceful, femininity defined. Btw she is not a geisha.

Blogger Mai said ... (5:11 PM) :

lovely pic, she has an amazing haircut!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:16 PM) :

The outfit overwhelms her figure and it gives her body no semblance of shape. Can't even imagine how odd it would look from the back. But with amazing hair like that, I forgive all.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:34 PM) :

aw, look at her little footie socks! She looks comfortable and elegant.

Blogger Deafkid said ... (5:36 PM) :

pretty, like a painting

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:37 PM) :

Wow. Comfortable, quiet and delicate details, sophisticated, textural, soft yet strong, unexpectedly chic. She's knows she's going against the trends, and it seems to make her even more stylish. I love how her sleeves have become a muffler. Her clothes are loose, unstructured, and yet they oddly convey a powerful sense of structure to me. She looks like a work of art. Her clothes are hiding her body and yet you get the impression that a beautiful female form lies beneath. Her hair--what a flattering, modern foil to the rest. I don't know if she could pull off the look so effectively without that cut. I love, love, love this blog, but this is the first post I've ever replied to. Something about her look speaks to me in the most pleasant way. Perfect.

Blogger Rita said ... (5:54 PM) :

How beautiful she is! And her hair, wow, can she pull it off perfectly!

Blogger TheMinx said ... (6:15 PM) :

Blogger beths said ... (8:48 PM) :

I so enjoyed the suspense about the skirt length as I scrolled down to view the photo for the first time. It did work at many skirt-length positions . . .

Anonymous Hannah said ... (9:51 PM) :

Sublime! This girl is art! What a look, and what a cool demeanor!

Blogger sillyfilly said ... (9:54 PM) :

She looks like a dancer.. the way her feet is poised. So graceful. Sometimes it's not what you wear. Really, it's just who you are.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:13 PM) :

I love the hairstyle...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 PM) :

Very pretty. I love the whole look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:48 PM) :

the lovely haircut reads as a touch grown-out/shaggy but nice nonetheless. the outfit is fine, it's the pose that makes it work and even so, I'm still opposed to the footie-socks showing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:00 PM) :

This is incredible. There is something about the way her skirt echoes the shape of her hair that is just stunningly subtle. Not to mention her face is absolutely gorgeous.

Blogger alegna said ... (5:31 AM) :

For me, this pic is all about her hair. The cut is beautiful. The shape of her skirt is interesting but much too long in length. Although I really love her sweater even though it is a bit oversized too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:50 PM) :

OMG this woman is stunning. LOOOOVE the hair. I can see what people are saying about the skirt echoing the hair, and I agree, but I still don't like skirts of that length. Still, a marvelous look. Would love to see inside her closet. Bet she also mixes it up with much sleeker looks. Marvellous! I wonder who does her hair. :)

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:32 PM) :

Did you notice her little socks peaking out of her flats? Lovely.

Blogger E. said ... (2:12 PM) :

Looks so comfy...Amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

I think the shoes might be Marc Jacobs Collection Fall 08-- the little socks which some commentors have notice is actually the velvet lining of the shoes that is meant to be seen?

Anonymous stella said ... (3:11 PM) :

gorgeous. she has an intuition for simple soft black lines.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:33 PM) :

A perfect combination of traditional and modern. A reminder of that skintight is not always necessary (if ever).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:41 PM) :

a special lady, but she reminds me a bit of a nun. Great haircut!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:03 PM) :

All the people talking about how the clothes don't "flatter" her clearly have a quite limited expectation of what cl1othes are meant to do for the wearer... here she is not flattered, per se, but there is something dramatic and poised about her silhouette, which is far more exciting.

I think I will take from this look a reminder to sometimes wear things that don't always make me look taller/slimmer for the sake of the pure drama of it!

Blogger Jessie Birnberg said ... (4:44 PM) :

Luv the hair. She is so gorgeous. However, there are three of us viewing and we, "oohed" and "ahhhed" until we scrolled down to see the way long skirt. You lost us. Love the pic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:58 PM) :

She's a knockout, I'd love to meet her....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 PM) :

This woman, she possesses that type of beauty and presence that is ethereal, transcendent, and timeless. She is a muse-- the type of beauty that inspires fashion rather than follow it.

And the stark and graphic lines of her clothes, hair, and stance so beautifully striking against that warm terracotta background. Once in awhile sir, you give us something quite special! Thank you.

Anonymous irene65 said ... (9:34 PM) :

what lots of people seem to not take into account is that there are other issues at work in the sartorial world than dressing to optimize the illusion of a tall/svelte body. There are cultural issues of modesty that don't have to be dispensed with in order to be fashionable. This woman is a perfect example of this - she is exquisite!

We could all learn a lesson on subtlety from her...

AND THAT HAIR!!!!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (10:49 PM) :

Looks like it's a doubled skirt or something.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:50 AM) :

it's her sweeping left foot and the warm red bricks behind her that transform confirm this outfit's magical expression of taste

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:36 AM) :

love the shapes, the volume and the flow. the contrasting balance of firmness and fragility. i imagine that she is petite, yet she doesn't let the outfit (or the grgeous haircut) swallow her. and maybe it's the photograph, but the detached confidence is almost rebelliously holistic.
