Comments on "On the Street......Vika, Paris"
really ysl style. So elegant and wearable. Love the belt and the bag, when it is black accessories are powerful.
I wish you a good weekend and thanks to share very often so great pics of streetstyle.
It's like: the best of the eighties + dicretion and restraint = Vika in Paris. Love her nonchalance too. Great post!
wow it´s a perfect look!!i love it!bS!!
Great look and outfit !!
perfect,
perfect.
perfect!
Understated elegance
Power shoulders and pigeon toes - juxtaposition is motion.
Fierce! Love the coat and shirt fabric.
LOVE IT,
http://jozeextravaganza.blogspot.com/
love love love. that coat with shoulder pads is...hmmmm...Not a word to describe, I love it so much!
like how the gold belt makes the trim of her aviators really show up
This is lovely. It's the eighties without seeing her underwear!
the big-shoulder look isn't really my thing, but i appreciate how she really pulls off the proportions of this silhouette without completely losing her own shape. and that gleam of her gold belt completely anchors the look.
perfect!!!!
Well-composed of various angular shapes. I especially like the belt...a little gold is needed to break up all the black, and this one is the perfect finishing touch! Bravo!

great sartorial accomplishment...she also wears my favourite type of tights!
It is Black again... The accesories, the belt and shades add a nice touch to an otherwise plain outfit.
looks good....but also looks like a jedi warrior
Only a woman as beautiful as this one could pull off this hairstyle. The magnificent belt cuts the somberness of this outfit. Such art in this photograph - the balconies, the man's silhouette in the background, the green plants, and that she is standing on a white square/rectangle...
Everything about this photo is perfect! This woman is an enigma... a beautiful one. From the aviators to the heels this woman is a force to be reckoned with. I love this image. Tres bien.
star trek anyone?
This is so perfect it makes me want to giggle. So Paris.
She can totally rock this look! Very beautiful and strong.
Makes you wonder 1.what she's thinking of, and 2.where she got that belt from.
Well, she is undoubtedly beautiful, and all the accessories are great and chic, but did we really need to have the eighties back? And the padded shoulders? REALLY????? Beside that all the rest of the look I find it stunning as her distant expression.
This is a smokin' hot look.I love how the 40's vibe is pulled of with the 80's big shoulders and the rockabilly hairdo.
So many pretty ladies with short haircuts out there...makes me want to chop it all off and give it a try!
Holy David Bowie, Batman!
But those shoes...wow.
Hi, I love all your photos. I was looking through NPR this morning and thought of you while reading this:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/pictureshow/2009/04/on_the_street.html
I adore this look! The simplicity combined with the aggressive 80s edge is to die for.
She looks a little bit like Batman...
no silhouette should be put to rest. everything is cyclical.
this ensemble proves that power and the feminine are one in the same.
m.
She reminds me of Leslie Winer back in the Eighties. Remember her?
I learned about the Sartorialist from Bill Cunningham's On The Street feature on NYTimes. I am addicted to both!
80s Re-loaded
i am new to your site and must say - love love love!!
checking every day and still have to catch up on past posts!
CLAP CLAP CLAP for her!
...and for you, sartorialist, i wish i´d have your eyes and vision.
cheers!
soo cool the blazer and the yst shoes great lookk!!
This is such a chic look!!
It's the perfect combination of masculine and feminine...I love how she wears her hair and aviators... =)
je t'aime
I want to be this woman.
Eccellente!
Very cool!!!
Looks unashamedly 80's, and normally that would make me hate an outfit - but this is just great. Topped off with a wonderful haircut.
This is such a hot look. I love everything about it. Especially the hair.
This is something I would definetly wear. So stylish and beuatiful!
i have found my style icon! love the mix of masculine hair and stance with the quirky, feminine outfit. i generally have doubts about how well wardrobe reflects one's personality, but is there any doubt that this woman is amazingly cool, intelligent and interesting?
Love everything about this! Very androgynous.
She is Russian couturiere - Vika Gazinskaya!
Do you know she's from Russia? I almost always like her style
The gold belt is perfection matched with the black outfit. Such a small accessory can do so much! Stunning.
She's so Bladerunner. love it.

wow, I absolutely love it...the shoulders, the lapel, the shoes and the belt. I want it all!
Could she BE any cooler? I think not.
Boss-eighties look. Nice shot aspect.
That is one ugly coat. Those shoulders are clearly just hanging there empty. But the rest of the outfit, including haircut and shades, is great and suits her.
SOOOOO STLYISH!
BOWIE?!
this is the best blog about trends!
This girl is so cool and femenine
No, no,no! I strongly dislike this look. Shoulder pads? Aviators? And that hair?
interesting but... i hope not with the shoulders. the 80s are still too close for me and i cringe every time it's tapped for inspiration.
Ahh I love Vika! One of the best people to streetstyle ahaha :D
ha. so chic. robot chic. love.
Wow, her jacket is perfection. I love the shoulders!
Very sophisticated, and a good utilization of silhouette
Damn, she's looking cool..
I LOVE the hair and the attitude within it.
its smoking hot. it just is.
Black how... original. Lol
if you "cut up her head" the outfit looks like meryl streep in "the devil wears prada"
What a fantastic look! Everything works together so perfectly.
ah!amazing look!you see one such on the streets and you wouldn't take your eyes off her. she carries off the aviators and her hair really really well. kudos!!
I'd do anything for this kind of lady. :)
its amazing. absolutely perfect outfit. that belt. lust.
Vika Gazinskaya :) She is very stylish and has her own view for how to wear!!!
I love the over-padded shoulders..
i love what it does to her shoulders
look at the shadow her spiky heel casts on the ground..
and I agree she's perfect.
wow. the entire outfit looks amazing. love love love the belt!

For me, the belt and the glasses totally bump this outfit up from simple chic to HOT. I'm really digging that belt.
Sci-fi chic.
The shapes echo each other, but to what effect?
Is the economy getting to The Sartorialist?
GORGEOUS!!!
xx
Vika is always bad ass. She can never do wrong in my book. I don't know if anyone agrees with me but I feel like Vika always finds the best way to meet architectural with organic. She is rad!
the shoulders really are amazing!
That belt...It's the key.
black = chic
i love it!!!
The shots of Vika here are always instructive, but I guess I'm the only one who finds this one, especially the hair, somewhat dreary. Maybe it's the color, or the fact that we're in April now?
this is sooo cool !! I am dazzled by her outfit :D
Great outfit! Love the shades!
Exciting to find you! We will be following. best from Santa Barbara. s
loving the hair!
well, i like her shoes.
No. This was me in 1984. Let it be.
PLEASE do a style profile of her! Vika is amazing.
yes i second that- do a style profile please!
http://stylelikeu.com
i am loving the short hair that is so in right now. its giving me urges of chopping it all off. im torn!
maude
tresCHICago.blogspot.com
absolutely perfect.
The black, the shoulder pads, the fem-hawk...what's not to love about this look?
Olive
www.visforolive.blogspot.com
elegant without fun = frosty
only hipsters like the 80s.
top shoes, but what´s up with the hair?!
She reminds me of a lesbionic robot. Pretty awesome look. I love it !!!!! Or, should I be ridiculous and pretentious and say: j'adore cette femme lesbionique!
It looks so forward yet modern and cutting edge! Love it! <3
omg! stunning & adore her shoes.
I was born in 89, so I missed the power shoulders the first time around. This look is austere, chic, and to me very fresh.
Gorgeous outfit and beaut hair style.
Hot and channeling Annie Lennox.
B-E-A-U-tiful! Vive la France~!
I second Laurence John's comment.
this silhouette is on a higher level.
nice belt
though i dont like her shoes, so general
she is as always - very good looking)
but sometimes i would like to see some new points in her style.
I must admit I love this look.
it's masculine in a very nice way , very elegant.
www.fashion-intervention.blogspot.com
i really like the silhouette.
and i want that kinda hair!
Impressive! Simple, classic yet so elegant.
www.becheapbechic.blogspot.com
stunning!! xxx
I always think about one thing when I see her: what will be the best for Vika - to be designer or stylist? In the the situation when the most of fashion's workers don't know what to wear - cause designers don't know what to produce in crisis( pure luxury, closer to client, low budget...), Vika shows high level of fashion passion, which became more & more rare... So sometimes She looks better than her collections)
Respect from Russia.
Love. Very Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow with a hint of 80s Cold War tension and hint of Jetson future world. Bad ass. Feminine. Nonchalant. Elegant. Dangerous. She rocks.
sharp stuff!
Near perfect, not quite though, simply because I don't think the whole shoulder thing is working on this.
the outfit is gorgeous and simply stunning
She looks incredible. Incredible. I sort of want to be her.
Isn't that La Roux?
Love her style!
her hair looks so great on her, and i suspect no one else.
she also has a very YSL air about her. stefano would adore her.
making navy the new black; so fresh!
Ahh now this is how big shoulders should look. It's understated and it works. Fantastic!
Too untouchable, shoes are not good.
laroux's style. i love everything she wear. where does the idea of putting that belt into black outfit come from? beautiful!!
