nice pair of boots

Blogger nurse fiction said ... (6:11 PM) :

Oh gosh! I do adore him and his pictures!

Anonymous Chesley said ... (6:12 PM) :

I think pants can be too tight. I'm seeing a lot of guys wearing tight to the point of being tights kind of pants and I am just not carried away.
The fellow in the Le Marais photo has a little breathing room all around, that seems okay, I guess I'm not a thigh gal.

Blogger Benjamin M. Dasher said ... (6:19 PM) :

This is really just filthy. I like the shows, but the rest of the outfit is too "dirty rocker" for my tastes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

Looks feminine (hips, legs)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:30 PM) :

He was born in a cross fire hurricane they say.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (6:41 PM) :

I don't know who he is, but he looks GOOD!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:47 PM) :

Kinda sexy.
Scruffy-cool, effortless, devil-may-care...what's not to like?

Blogger LastName:Cox said ... (7:05 PM) :

thank god for a pointed toe men's shoe. if there is one shoe style I am tiiiiired of seeing all over DC, it is square toed mens dress shoes.

Anonymous Venusian said ... (7:05 PM) :

The boots are mesmerising...

Blogger Natalie J Monty said ... (7:09 PM) :

Michael Hutchence of INXS, circa 1987.

Olivier Zahm [Purple Magazine]
The purple winklepickers are rather appropriate!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:31 PM) :

It's a really great photograph of a man mid-air!! I love the feeling that this is a sudden glimpse that is created by the bodies in the foreground.

However, the clothes themselves feel predictable and not fresh: plaid, super-tight (gray) jeans, pointy shoes, small leather jacket, purple, even the transparent-rimmed aviators...

I know you dislike the expression, Scott, but, unless I'm missing something, it feels a bit too on trend. Most of the people you show us are in their own orbit more so than this guy.

Blogger Mekjm said ... (7:37 PM) :

awesome. greaaaat shot.

Blogger LRB said ... (7:45 PM) :

He's definitely got the Cool Factor. Effortless.

I appreciate the slim pants as I've seen enough hip hop baggies to last me two life times!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:14 PM) :

looks like he's walking on air!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:26 PM) :

appears that he isn't even touching the ground. Guy is red hot...in a mess kind of way

Anonymous aggy said ... (8:46 PM) :

Sorry, but he reminds me of Charles Manson, never a good thing. It must be the hair. I just don't get what people see in him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:52 PM) :

its elvis of our generation

Blogger Matias - Organizador said ... (8:58 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 PM) :

I agree with some of the above comments, as soon as I saw this pic I thought of Michael Hutchence, very cool, I love this look, great shot!

Blogger JoLynn said ... (10:19 PM) :

I like this look...sort of poet-maybe past rock star. Plus...he has nice shoes.

Anonymous fashion lady said ... (10:52 PM) :

The pants is cool!

Anonymous zuccotto said ... (10:56 PM) :

Good photograph, the movement caught through the people in the foreground, as another poster said. Also like the orange tram backdrop.. movement is sort of 'packaged' here.

The boots look like cowboy boots, very routine where I live now. I've nothing to say about the clothes or the man, just like the captured moment.

Blogger kelse said ... (11:05 PM) :

floaty..

good timing!

Anonymous Matthew S said ... (11:17 PM) :

very nice shoes. where can i get the shoes or similar pair?

Anonymous duncan said ... (11:21 PM) :

Russell Brands older more down to earth brother!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 PM) :

No, it's Javier Bardem playing Michael Hutchence in a biopic.

This kind of rocker look is classic by now.

Anonymous Amor de Cosmos said ... (1:02 AM) :

This fellow just goes to show the truth of my lifelong contention that a nice pair of western boots, like the ability to quote Shakespeare or the Old Testament, is a social asset in any crowd. This is as true in Paris or Milan as in Calgary or Drumheller.

Blogger JURIS..!!! said ... (1:19 AM) :

what a nice pointy-purple-shoes !!!!
and looak at his leather jacket
COOL!

Blogger crystal said ... (1:29 AM) :

Anonymous FVAD said ... (3:05 AM) :

scrolling: starting from the uncombed hair, Aviators , scruffy beard & leather bomber; that's a look I'd Endorse..

the Drawcord, the tights , the brilliant but aliented boots & even the Glide..mmmm that's a No No..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:29 AM) :

it rocks, looks great and the situation funny, busy man!

Anonymous produse de slabit said ... (3:49 AM) :

I would say that the "poet" part is made by the papers in his hands.

I also like the little bow under his jacket. Delicious!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:48 AM) :

the taller guy in the background is less fashion, but very nice too

Anonymous irem sarihan said ... (5:21 AM) :

killer boots or what!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:57 AM) :

As others have said, very Michael Hutchence, but even spookier, Milano looks very Melbourne (and so does he). Goodness knows how the two of you are going to find anyone in Sydney.

Blogger Gaia said ... (7:04 AM) :

good photograph! i like the drive, the momentum... feminine hips & décolleté, do not like much his hair, though, looks too "fucked up"

Anonymous A chicette in Paris said ... (7:10 AM) :

Just how does Olivier keep his hair the perfect amount of French creative craziness? I wonder what it looks like when he leaves the hairdresser!
Love his purple shoes!

Kisses from Paris!

My ultimate crush. So stylish, so handsome, and such a talented fashionisto!

Anonymous Freddy said ... (9:35 AM) :

He looks very much like Vincent Gallo in his movie Buffalo66 (Gallo wears those same boots, grey thight jeans, hairstyle and the most amazing lead color trucker leather jacket).

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:38 AM) :

OLIVER ZAHM IS GOING TO SO SO WEAR OUT THAT YSL LEATHER JACKET HE ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAVE ON IN EVERY SINGLE SHOT!!

Blogger sophia said ... (10:46 AM) :

I love the photo and the boots are great

What a beautiful shot!! The shoes hardly touching the ground, it reminded me of a verse in pre-Islamic Arabic poetry. Beautiful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

the purple boots rocked the look

Blogger Betty Blackbent said ... (1:19 PM) :

For some reason, that drawstring bow is bothering me to no end.

That, and if your pants are so tight it's best to find another place to carry your keys...
Overall, though, it's a jolly look and the plaid shirt is especially nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:48 PM) :

Wham, Zahm, thank you ma'am !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:39 PM) :

gold star all around. mmm, love it. would love to be walking with him, hanging on to is hand for dear life.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:07 PM) :

boots are Gianni Barbato

Blogger Ko said ... (8:24 PM) :

His style looks like Vincent Gallo.
I like the combination of gray denim and wine red colored boots.

Great shot!

Not sure if I like that outfit! The guy in the background looks much better!

Blogger Ly said ... (10:42 AM) :

Looked as if his feet were in the air, not touching the pavement...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:57 AM) :

Anonymous En Mode Fashion said ... (3:44 AM) :

So amazing shot !

Blogger Kay said ... (5:10 AM) :

My favourite thing is by far the layering - I love it! The way the upturned shirt collar picks up the collar of the leather jacket = effortless perfection
