Comments on "On the Street......Off Chapel St., Melbourne"
amazing! love the subtle jewelry
She is lovely. This illustrates perfectly how one can wear a nearly monochromatic outfit that still looks properly balanced due to the variety of texture. Her hair is perfect, too.
adore her top... she looks so effortlessly kwl! :-)

Beautiful texture in that Swaeter, and I love her hair on her..She is stunning!

Very exciting to get a peek at Australian Street Fashion! This lass, with great concentration, has perfected the art of leaf levitation, and thankfully it has been captured on film!
I'm so excited that you are visiting Australia. I hope you are pleasantly surprised by what is going on here.
jus hung out in a bar full of aussies... none of them looked as beautiful as this.
very nice!!
Welcome to Melbourne, very sorry to read about your father - he seemed like a wonderful and talented man.
I hope you enjoy your time here.
great outfit.
I Looove the hair! She looks a so boyish yet so chic!
she reminds me of jamie lee curtis in trading places (in a good way).
yay for the sart in australia!
very melbourne
I love how peaceful she looks.
Scott, are you coming to Sydney?
This is what Melbourne fashion is all about: Black on black, fitted cut, amazing fabric and a tasteful splash of jewelery. She's lovely.
she's head to toe incredible; literally, her hair and her shoes, are of exemplary techniques.
ps. the pants are nice too.
i adore the leaf flying right in front of her. magic! her top is divine, and so is her hair! Have you decided if you are hitting sao paulo after aussie? i really hope you come...
loverly.
I served this girl at work that day! And hounded her about that jumper... It's amazing! x
Love this minamalist chic look. Heading to Australia in a few months, can't wait to see more style in person.
i love love love melbourne! can't wait to see more
I love how the leave is floating in the lower right hand corner too...
http://seenbyvictor.blogspot.com
She has such delicate features that you would think that stark black would not sit very well on her but somehow she manages to get away with it so as not be drowned by it.
I love the leaf floating in the foreground, just as she is pushing her hips forward to effortlessly hover on the pavement.
Wonderful shot!
Love her SHOES!And all these texture, golssy & fluffy, nice try!
THAT SWEATER IS LOVELY!

The bowl-cut is lovely ad her necklace is a perfect embellishment. Looking forward to seeing more.
haha I love that leaf levitation comment.
wow.
i'm pretty sure she was also captured by the facehunter when he was here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_6UzdmF8O-Oo/SRLGlK_1aOI/AAAAAAAAJL8/o3ZfoWsSJmU/s1600-h/IMG_9041.jpg
and another with her colourful bag: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_6UzdmF8O-Oo/SRLGl1Km3sI/AAAAAAAAJME/f_71u0VJVNU/s1600-h/IMG_9230.jpg
This top has served her well! :)
Really nice sweater. It remembers me the ones of Burberry's Prorsum for last winter (men collection).
Best!
Jose
:) call me crazy but I'm kind of hypnotised with the 'floating' leaf there... the whole photo has a 'star treki' alien feel
mmmhhhh
Elizabeth.
Very exciting to see your impressions of Australia. There is a certain clarity of light in New Zealand and Australia that you seem to be capturing perfectly. - Not an easy task as it usually washes street shots out.
Her sweater looks so tactile - it just makes me want to reach out and stroke it.
Like the chic slouchiness of the outfit's silhouette too - would have prefered different footwear though.

Just lovely.
i totally know what you mean about the quality of light, peter thomson! i'm from melbourne but am living in the united states right now - this shot made me homesick! it just looks so melbourne...
i like the floating leaf.
alpha60 top. this girl works there, too. everyone seems to have photographed her (and the top). she's cute...love her hair.
she looks great because it's wearable and trendy. Love the details and the powerful black colorr.
It's great you're showcasing Aussie street fashion! I was there last winter and really don't understand why my Filipino bosses have the impression that all Australians dress badly...
wow... i mesmerized by the floating leaf and yet gave me the impression that she was near to floating as well... it is somewhat magical... great shot sart...
i wish i was her! so cool!
That top is just incredible! Love the texture!
Love the floating leaf too :)
xx
wooo melbourne!!! she looks rad!
www.herinfluences.blogspot.com
haha i noticed the floating leaf too...this girls look is so effortless!
hey Sart everyone is SO excited you are here...hope you get interviewed for the morning shows and local news!!
her face ahnd hair cut looks so fresh! the mix os textures is amazing! :)xx
She looks as if she wouldn't make a sound when she walks...x
I really love her outfit. The texture of that shirt, the shape of the pants and shoes and hair and.. awesome.
The levitating leaf is the highlight for me
Sooooooo excited about u being in Melbourne - all time favourite city!! Can't wait to see more pics...
It looks very 80's, but not in a good way. Sorry.
I love wandering around Chapel Street..especially the Windsor end with all the quirky op shops. It's the best place to people watch...Melbournians have amazing style (and I'm not just saying that cos I am one...)
it's all about the floating leaf
This could be anywhere. I'm thinking somewhere in France.
I'm looking forward to more of your "I am a camera" takes on Australia.
My feeling about the fashion here: anything looks good on a thin girl.
This illustrates perfectly how one can wear a nearly monochromatic outfit that still looks properly balanced due to the variety of texture. Her hair is perfect, too.
Sell Digital products
I <3 it
Finally, a female NOT wearing those kill-your-back, ill-your-feet, break-your-ankle ridiculously high heels.
I love her hair more than anything!
I love how her hair cut accentuates her delicate build. The sweater is so feminine that it makes the flat shoes look actually very sexy!
she looks like a chic alien pixie with access to a great hairstylist. i especially love her pants. pleats done right!
She is lovely! And I especially adore her sweater ;)
Hope all's well in Australia!
xx,
L.F. Wynn
wow what a face! such amazing eyes. loving the texture of her sweater and the subtlety of her demeanor AND the entire outfit.
Wow, I love that girl. She has ace hair.
are you sure this isn't paris? haha
the hair, the sweater, the pants...perfect
Ohmygod, you have hit our gorgeous cities of Australia. Cannot wait to see what you do in Sydney for Fashion Week. I love this girl - it is so deliciously dark, lean and very very Melbourne.
that girl obviously loves her jumper as she wore it on face hunter a few or more months ago! very cool but funny to see her captured again wearing it
fabulous hair. more melbourne pics!!!
Look at that swan-like neck being shown off with the scooped neck textural top. The pants look as if they're satin or satin-y-esque; as if they'd feel nice to the touch and drape gracefully. She's at ease, I like that.
this is so beautiful!
it's pretty how you caught leaf before it hit the ground.
this girl look amazing- as does your other photograph of melbourne so far Sart, but please can i ask that you venture to the other side to caputre what many feel is the 'real' fashion area of Melbourne, say Gertrude/Brunswick/Smith Streets? I know you wont be dissapointed!
my sis would love to see the picture of ppl in melbourne streets. She lives there but she's currently holidaying here. My condolences for your father's passing. He seems to live his life well.
love it love it. hope you're enjoying the country - sydney is better! haha kidding, I'm a tad biased. the leaf is actually amazing, lol. can't wait to see who you find in sydney.
brooke
I have seen her before in the melbourne street fashion blog - great look.
She looks good, but as an ex-Melburnian, it is disappointing that everyone there is still wearing black. Yes, all black is back, but they've never stopped wearing it in Melbourne, especially on Chapel St - they lost their colourwheel about 20 years ago. They are so scared of colour, and so conservative when compared to Brisbane (Queensland) fashion.
Fantastic to see you in Australia, about time Australia got some fashion love. Love the jumper paired with simplicity of the gold pendant.

so cool
LOVE
I've noticed a lot of completely black outfits lately. I like it.
www.sunshinecitylassie.blogspot.com
Wow! He's smart. She's cool. Great pics.
Other than her cool look, I love the levitating leaf!! Hah :D
Wow! He's smart and she's cool. Great pics.
yay you're in melbourne!
how i longed for this day :D
...have fun ...
great looking woman.
lovvvve her pants.
this look is absolutely gorgeous and her hair is fabulous!!
i love her look! that top!
Oh, no. Yeah, she's fab but you realise she's only the tip of the iceberg? Melbourne's a much more exciting city than Sydney, fashion-wise, though I'm not sure Chapel Street's the place to find it. Try North Fitzroy, Brunswick, Carlton or the back lanes of the CBD. Nobody does vintage tweed, layered blacks, asymmetrical cuts and schoolgirl flats like Melbourne.
She has the same hair cut I had when I was 12.
Being a doupleganger aside, she has a gorgeous sweater and a great sense of colors.
oh yeah...so Melbourne at its best: the quiet understated chic, sensuality, and minimalism..(love the levitating leaf too, now that's very Melbourne too..we're experience the most demonstrative Autumn in Aus. down here!)
I must say I don't love this look. The long top elongates the torso at the expense of the legs. The texture of the top is okay if you like that kind of thing, which actually I don't, but there is no definition of shape (e.g. a tighter pant that would contrast with the top) and the necklace cuts across the neckline to no great effect. And I don't get those pants - they're like something from a school supplier's. She has a great face though.
Stylish! :) love it!
Love the outfit. Love her features. Absolutely LOATHE, LOATHE, LOATHE the haircut. Am I the only one who feels this way?
Perfect match for Erica Shires' photo of a levitating girl.
http://bit.ly/bLcxO
i love your work and i love that you're here! hope you'll be back in melbourne soon. am i the only melbournian who actually sees colour worn by fellow melbournians? I myself wear lots of colour.
Scott.. I love how you caught the leaf on the bottom right falling...you can see the shadow that it created on the concrete.. Very cool!!
more melbourne... please - you must surely have no end of fabulousness???
i'm in love with this awkward elfin lady
Love your work Sart, but what's with just two pics for Melbourne, and a whopping eight pics for Sydney?? Given Melbourne's reputation as the style capital of Australia, it does seem strange. Maybe the weather was a bit too cold here for your liking.
...First of all:
Very sorry to read that your father passed away...
...
i love your photos - and especially in this one:
The leaf!
i'm fallen in love with this outfit
So very Melbourne! Can't wait to see more of your stuff from our lovely city. Sorry to have missed your party the other night. Look forward to seeing the pics though.
Looking forward to your book launch! :)
She has so feminine hair.
Black in Fashion.
She is beautiful. Also the complementary textures, balance and merely her posture. However, i was hopeing that you, the Satorialist would dig a little deeper into the dense layers of Melbournes laneways and streets. I think you would have found that Melbournians can wear colour wonderfully! So elegantly yet with playful undertones. Think locally hand crafted jewellery, hand printed fabrics, organic fabrics and natural dyes, not to mention our devotion for anything vintage!
I hope you enjoyed your time here in Melbourne!
x Miss L

A beautiful girl, and if I'm not mistaken she works at Alpha60 [a Melbourne label] and is wearing their designs...
