Comments on "On the Street......George St., Sydney"
Great shoes. What does that signal means?
Best!
Jose
cool heels, love the street sign in the background
just...wow !
i like the way she makes everything work for her, even making the boots look like an essential part of the outfit rather than a trendy accessory - may be that is one definition of personal style ?
Love the YSL's. They have a really simple design, and that is what makes them beautiful. Really cute girl too, that was such a lovely smile!
lovely girls wears lovely shoes:)
Good Morning Sydney,
This looks good to me.
Is that a menswear vest she is wearing?
H
such a simple color combo, but so stunning.
cool print skirt.
is that an oversized vest she's wearing?
Salut,
twitter is so practically ;-)
Great shot! The black outfit in the magical sun. The shoes are nice too. Where do you find all these people!?!
A bientôt,
Jérôme
beautiful shoes... ysl? she looks so happy in them!
I love how she dressed the whole look up with those stripper inspired killer heels.
And what a gorgeous girl she is! Love this picture, makes me wish I lived in a sunny place too.
x!
http://thischicksgotstyle.blogspot.com
love how the crosswalk sign emphasizes the shoes... premeditated?
Those boots and that sign! So fun. I can hear Nancy Sinatra's voice now...
Got to love that sign. "Warning! Runaway legs!"
of course. YSL Tribute Platforms.
What great hair! Wonder what products she uses.
xx,
Sam
www.prettylovelythings.com
it's like two personalitys in one. angels and devils. AMAZING. P.S. i totally heart those ysl!
One word comes to mind... GEORGEOUS!
so young and cute... =)
The photography very beautiful: present, living. The correct light, necessary rakurs.Shoes cool! ))) YSL - yea...
She looks great! The combination of shorts and YSL boots make her legs look short though.
How she carries herself makes the look. Put those clothes on any other woman, and it's not quite the same. She's fabulous.
the miroslava duma shoes! beautiful.
I'm so tired of seeing those YSL platform boots! They've made their way into many closets, but do nothing for those who wear them. The gorgeous girl you snapped just had her leg line truncated by those boots. Shame!
this is just amazing, the easy fabric and the heavy shoes :) great shoes :)
What a wonderful shot with the road sign's feet going the opposite direction!
this girl gets it!
what a rebel punk she is.
...
as we can clearly see that in sydney are only pants and flat shoes allowed.
love the YSL's...
but not with this outfit.
Funny with that sign and those boots:)
effortless style + amazing photography..
Lola.
visit me sometime
nice photo! love the ysl pumps! nice blog as well.
I like the legs on the board.
So Funny...
Monica
love those killer shoe of the season YSL heels
I know that I seem to be the sole deviant on this entry. YUCK. I don't like the boots or the outfit, and especially together. I know that there is this resurgance of 80's -esque fashion...I lived it the first time...I just don't dig it. Something new
The woman, though, is quite beautiful.
This girl seems very chill and confident. Hot style too, and those sexified shoes add a perfect touch!
The composition is beautiful. Everyone is talking about the yellow sign but I can't help but to notice her hair suspended against the yellow wheel.
She looks angelic and beautiful. I don't think this is a men's vest, but whatever it is, it works for her. Truncated? No, there is nothing truncated about this look. She has terrific calves therefore these shoes work perfectly with her body. It just seems as if the shoes accentuate her calves.
those shoes are killer,luvs
Nice heels, but love the skirt :D Somehow it reminds me of summer, I love summer, I see sunshine i nsummer, so I love summer :D
The killer heels!
Does she feel comfortable in those shoes?
I love her shoes.
the YSL tribute boots.
I just can't .
wow
check out my blog, its new but its getting there.
www.fashion-intervention.blogspot.com
Her shoes are unbelievable.
Soooo cute, love her shoes and nice curly hair...Very good pix.

charmig shoes
Well I think the sign is saying what everyone is thinking.
"These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do ..."
That's what you call a bona fide cutie pie.
She looks like Zoë Kravitz.
I like what she's wearing but I must say those boots (from sole to top) look as long as her calf and therefore the proportions here aren't as flattering as they would be on a tall woman. That's alotta shoe for a little girl.
Also, I'm not a big fan of petite women (like myself, all 5'4" of me) letting their skirts pass their knee. It's not the most flattering hem line on us. I guess it's a question of looking "not bad" to looking "your best".
That said, if I saw her on the street I would likely find the girl and the outfit charming... this venue brings out the knit picker in all of us.
Waaouawww beautiful shoes and nice pic
great shot Sart - nice to see the Australian light...nice and bright! 'The Rocks' area near the Harbour is one of my favourite spots!
I like the way you have captured that big coat hanger in the background
Love the outfit, effortless and then bam: Tributes (love them in the bootie version!). Gorgeous pic with the bridge in the backdrop!
xx
ysl shoes all over the globe. i would have preferred to see something else from down under, not those same shoes all over again! not that I don´t like the outfit, and the girl is lovely, but I just got tired of seeing them and wanted something else from australia
I guess the shoes are cool- but they look SO painful to wear. I man, is it beautiful to ruin your feet and stress your skeletal structure?
I can't see the "yellow wheel" behind her hair, which greendress mentioned. I just thought I should point out that the faint structure behind her is Sydney's Harbour Bridge and this was shot at the Rocks.
Beautiful look. :)
You captured the Sydney daylight beautifully and the juxtaposing of the sign and the impossibly high shoe-boots - love it...
For those wondering what the sign is: it's for a pedestrian crossing.
Yowza! Those shoes pack a punch, especailly if you're scrolling down and they appear last.
Amazed you found a part of that street with noone walking around in back of shot...I'm over the shoes already, and her outfit isn't that original for Sydney, but she's cute none the less.
Hopefully you found that point of difference between Syd and Melb you mentioned when you were talking to Patty.
the sign is indicating a crossing
Welcome to Sydney, its beautiful! I love it here!
flor.
http://almosteiffel.blogspot.com/
Great shot with a beautiful girl and 'our' icon in the background.......the coat-hanger! Gorgeous.
Love the shoes!
The sign indicates that it is a pedestrian crossing, it includes the white stripes on the ground, which we call 'zebra crossings' =)
esmoquin room. The sign means it's a pedstrian crossing. great style. Great hair. Lovely girl
I think the printed skirt is the best feature, and I also like the slouchy top. I love black altogether and am glad it's still in this late in the year. Perhaps it's a transitory color.
Not too hot for the shoes...
www.sunshinecitylassie.blogspot.com
beautiful shot, great outfit & lovely hair - welcome to Sydney. Yesterday was freezing - you and she make it look like a warm spring day
the sydney picture has to have the harbour bridge behind it, I feel so ashamed...as thats the entire depth of the city. fashion in sydney is not very good!
What an amazingly beautiful shot. The clearness and blueness of the sky and the sunlight. We love being in Australia!
the sign means there is a pedestrian crossing.
but i like how someone interpreted it as "warning! runaway legs"
her shoes are amazing. and the Bridge looks lovely, blurred in the background.
Welcome to sunny Sydney. fabulous girl, fabuous shot.
Not a big fan of the clunky boots, but they certainly make that outfit. Love it--simple but stylish.
liking the shoes very chic, power back on
i love that everyone loves our pedestian crossing signs, hehe!
anyway, i think she looks fabulous, and im loving it was shot at the rocks :)
but surely there are more than 4 fashionable people you've shot in australia so far??
then u're in australia now...so u should go to Indonesia, Jakarta or Bali, My beloved Country...yes I think u should go there...
Killer heels! srsly...
Its like the sign in the back is telling you to look at her shoes. Great composition!
love the shoes! I need some.
Lovely Autumn sun in Sydney
God I hate the shoes - they're big, clunky, awkward and inelegant. But she's young I guess it's more important to be noticed at that age than to actually look good
@CurveSmart - that part of Sydney is really quiet usually. Hardly any people walk down there on weekdays except for the occasional tourist.
This outfit is nice but nothing special. However, I don't see how she could have walked around in the Rocks with those heels. She would have rolled her ankles soooo many times!
OOOH... love the sweet, innocent smile with those super-vixen heels...
The sign means... pedestrian crossing.
It's freezing in Sydney... this outfit seems silly to me.
That skin, that hair, those shoes! I am so jealous!)))
the sign in background marks a pedestrian crossing as a sydney sider this person looks very unsydney. but great- and ill claim everyone looks like this.
Is this Sidney Poitier's beautiful daughter?
How cute is she and those shooties to match?
Pretty girl and lovely photo. Don't much like the shoes (agree with the comment above that they truncate her legs), but the rest of the outfit complements her petite figure.
Sart - re: your comments reported in the Age and SMH today - we Melbourne girls are happy to agree that Sydney fashion is sexy and well put together - but saying we're "dowdier" and less feminine? Maybe on Chapel Street - but we're a different breed north of the river!
oh my god i misssssss sydney!!!!!
Am working just around the corner... I can't believe I missed you in action yesterday!!
Oh welll... Hope you are enjoying Sydney's many beauties... Not to miss for great atmosphere & inspiration: Darlinghurst cafes/bars/restaurants/clubs, Paddington's leafy streets & boutiques... Surry Hills with its own East Village feel... and la plage (Bondi, Bronte etc)!
Oh I absolutely adore Australia!
It was so cold in sydney this morning - I am sure she is standing that way cause she is cold! Just cause the sun is out does not mean it is warm! Great shot though!
An article in the local rag about this blog. Link below:
http://www.theage.com.au/lifestyle/fashion/the-sartorialist-rates-sydney-vs-melbourne-fashion-20090428-al54.html
Nothing is to be expected from any city...'not sydney' - I say WHY NOT. It's a photo not an all day moment, surely to see detail of outfit one may remove their jacket.
Sartorialist welcome. I love her shadow.
To see what i've been doing in your absence in my capital - Canberra: capitalthread.blogspot.com
I thought you'd never make it here, pity Melbourne was so rainy on the weekend.
the sign means its a crossing or walkway, you can see the zebra stripes on the ground.
were you only in melbourne for a day? thats a shame. you should have checked out the fitzroy/brunswick area. very 'melbourne chic'
Great shoes and gorgeous girl
I'm surprised these pictures are from Australia. I know it's nearing winter, but it's not as cold as here in New Zealand. I always find Australians wear loads of colour. We have heaps of black clothes here and I find it depressing - but whenever I go across the ditch I see colour so I'm a bit disappointed in seeing the black clothes :(
The girl is beautiful, I do not think the outfit is really flattering, though. I do not like how the vest goes with the skirt. I agree with the comment on the 80's: we already lived through them, I do not think we need to go there again! Regarding the shoes...believe it or not those kind of shoes are usually quite comfortable, at least much more than they look!
ouch! I'm in love
amazing shoes!! i want them, i do want them!!
I love how she appears to be throwing the bridge over her shoulder like a cape or a shawl. The composition of this photo is simply perfect.
Looks rubbish.
It means there is a pedestrian crossing, it is there to prompt drivers to slow down i guess.
I love her boots!!!
She looks perfect in the sunlight.
I think the pic was taken at CG end of George St. I work a few minutes walk from there.
mmmm....pretty
I lived in the CBD area of Sydney for a few months about two years ago. I always loved the fact that the women in that area always strutted about in killer heels despite the fact that the streets of Sydney can be very steep. This girl doesn't look like she is from Sydney but I love her outfit and the photo.
Beautiful shot - love the skirt, the girl and the exceptional background. Not so crazy about the YSL shoes though.
Interesting article on the Age today. The comparison between Sydney and Melbourne is always an interesting one, not sure if I truly agree with your observations though!
article here:
http://www.theage.com.au/lifestyle/fashion/the-sartorialist-rates-sydney-vs-melbourne-fashion-20090428-al54.html
aha, the sign means that she is in a pedestrian zone, though I wonder how far she'd get in those incredible shoes.
I'm from Sydney! WOOHOO yes sydney has style. Sartorialist, try Oxford Street in Kingscross, Crown Street in Surry Hills, King Streetn in Newtown and Crows Nest is nice too; might find a few innovators =) hope you enjoy your stay here
I'm a Sydney sider and I've never considered those signs cute or weird before, they're normal for us! I've never realised they don't have them other places..
Cute shoes, but you wouldn't get far in the Rocks wearing them!
Check out Glebe & Newtown while you're here..
We've almost entered Winter here in Sydney. But in heels like that, would you feel the chills?
Lovely girl but i think the shoes are horrible.
Great shot!
The skirt is from an Australian brand called 'Barkins'. It can be purchased here for only $40AUD!!!
http://www.barkins.com.au/www/518/1001127/displayproduct/printed-splatter-skirt--1135280_skirts--1026597_.html
Yay Sydney! Is this The Rocks? She looks amazing and i love the fact that no one knows what the sign means, dont you have them out there in the wide world?
Her skirt is from Barkins on Hunter St in the city - $40! (I have the same skirt!) mix and match your Ysl's with your cheapies and you'll look this fabulous!
wow..never seen those people in Australia before.
More eye-opening to me.
I love her outfit.
the shoes dont need any comments, but i dont like her clothes with them.another scirt?
Love the shoes and the top. This picture was taken about two blocks from my old apartment!
means pedestrian crossing
This is a good photo of her, ok outfit but personally the shoes looks out of place and uncomfortable for the time and place. I'm surprised you found her at the Rocks.
She is beautiful but I think the proportions are off from head to toe. Each item would work separately but together it is a shapeless outfit.
The skirt needs a trimmer top; the vest needs a more fitted and/or shorter (if a skirt) bottom; and I think the shoes need either black hose, trousers, or a short dress in order not to break up the leg line.
Even the purse is too long. Shorten the strap or wear it cross body.
I feel like this is a case of beautiful items that don't fit; and yet I can see them looking great in their current size on this woman if she only picked different things to pair with them.
Sydney has killer style. So proud to be living here!
Love this girls YSL's!

Cute girl. But this ensemble first appears to be all about the shoes. She seems too short or petite for them. Maybe it's just me being a little tire of seeing them on this blog.
Her hair is great. Its texture and the skirt's print works well together. Her vest has an interesting loose cut.
This comment has been removed by the author.
HOw can she wear them without falling down. She looks great.
hey sart i want her number now!
it would be awesome if the sign in the background had her shoes in sillouette instead!
she looks fab! also looks fresh down there at the moment.
love everything of this look. The black and white suit well and the shoes are amazing and fun!
Hahaha thats a pedestrian crossing sign...There is a zebra crossing next to it! Don't you have those in the nothern hemisphere? Btw love the outfit! Amazing shoes, fantastic pattern in the dress and that hair... everything just works!
Okay - those have to be the coolest, funkiest (is that a word?) shoes ever!
that skirt is in barkins for $40...im sure i saw it today...
I want to go to there..
AHHH! that dress is amazing. It reminds me of those marble paintings.
The sign is there to indicate a pedestrian crossing
Really wish Sart had spent more time in Melbourne.. and hope he goes north the Qld.
a great model pose meets a great photographer.
It's those shoes again!
Superb framing. I love the arch surrounded by vertical lines. Awful shoes.
Is this the girl from the Virgin adds at central atm?
where do you find these people? I guess I don't get out enough in Sydney, she is very cute and the shoes are just great.
Sign means pedestrian crossing. Nothing pedestrian about her, though!

YSL YSL YSL LOVVEEEE EEEMMMM It's a fantastic picture
The girl's name is Assia Benmedjdoub and she's a fashion journalist for Ragtrader magazine. Trust me, she always looks this flawless!
cool.
She is fabulous!
these boots aren't made for walking..
look great though. man you're photography is exploding!
I agree mot made for walking made for looking at them, they're really cool loved the girl and her look!
That skirt is from Barkins, $39.95.... love it, esp with the luxe shoes.
amazing photo - love the crosswalk sign, why don't we have those in the US? Fantastic shoes - info? www.lotussarasota.com
i think these shoes are from cos, i saw them there earlier! geourgous!
know that I seem to be the sole deviant on this entry. YUCK. I don't like the boots or the outfit, and especially together. I know that there is this resurgance of 80's -esque fashion...I lived it the first time...I just don't dig it. Something new

http://www.moremony.com
This outfit is nice but nothing special. However, I don't see how she could have walked around in the Rocks with those heels. She would have rolled her ankles soooo many times!
it's a sign for a crossing
i love her hair
i was a little obsessed looking at this girl at fashion week - she has the most beautiful smile in real life - slightly buck teeth- even more adorable than anything else with that gorgeous face.
I'm sorry, but these ankle boots have to go. They're ridiculous - am I the only one who thinks this? (Probably...) This outfit would be much more pleasing to me if she had on a simple pair of flip flops or even some kind of espadrille... So, so sick of the boot thing. They make short women look shorter and every outfit look tougher than it should. Tougher than it deserves to be. Enough with the stupid boots.
i'd definitely follow her rather than the directions of that sign
love the gucci's! Best shoe innovation in 5 years!
Great shot! The black outfit in the magical sun. The shoes are nice too.
I agree mot made for walking made for looking at them, they're really cool
Its a pedestrian sign to walk across the road. Its about 3pm somewhere around the Rocks, its Autumn..a great time of the year in Sydney.
Paul
