Waris? Still laughing at his role in The Darjeeling Limited. Frankly, I find his clothing well fitting but drab. Is that a fashion or a religious choice?

Ahluwalia! Creative guy. House of Waris has amazing jewelry! But, you'd have to go to India to find even more amazing jewelry and design. He's catering to the tastes of the West. Nothing more.

Anonymous Hannah said ... (4:28 PM) :

I love the way his black headwrap and beard frame his face. Wearing lighter colors also draws focus to his face. Very fine sartorial tactics!

Anonymous marryhalal said ... (4:56 PM) :

SICK!

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (4:59 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:08 PM) :

haha this guy is funny. Love him in Darjeeling Limited.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:12 PM) :

This dude is cool, cool, cool. I really like his suit. There is something about it that draws you closer. Like what the heck is it anyway, looks like a fine wale corduroy. Great bluish tint, love the camel scarf and the pull-it-together hanky. I wish I could wear a turban now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:16 PM) :

I need him with me here in Sacramento (and what I wouldn't give to have that happen . . . sigh)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:17 PM) :

I love his pocket square! He is awesome!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:32 PM) :

This is a bespoke suit, of italian origin? I would assume a tailor from naples. i doubt this is a suit from Norton and sons, because it is not highly structured.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:36 PM) :

that is one awesome indian. represent!
ive never heard of this guy before?

Blogger The Voguette said ... (7:38 PM) :

xox.

Blogger frank adam said ... (7:51 PM) :

I love how that little handkerchief jumps off that drab suit. This is a religious uniform of sorts, but it reminds me of Catholic high school when we would find unique ways of self expression through the drab uniform. Shoes, hair, a belt, suspenders, anything we could find to adorn our uniforms became our mode of identifiable self expression. Fashion is loud even when it whispers.

Blogger  Mommy Drinks Style said ... (8:19 PM) :

Wow! A very noble face.

Blogger Mai said ... (8:24 PM) :

Ladies, look and weep.

He's Sikh. He belongs to us! And we're not about to give him up!

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (8:40 PM) :

Blogger Bookworm said ... (8:42 PM) :

Love it! The detail of the pocket hankie...the tasteful scarf....the whole outfit screams "dignified, elegant, classy". Great pick! I love how it's simple but quite a statement.

Blogger Steve & Kristen said ... (9:19 PM) :

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (10:49 PM) :

Blogger Welcome said ... (12:28 AM) :

He seems to be appearing everywhere these days.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:42 AM) :

Blogger jonahliza said ... (1:22 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:03 AM) :

god damn he is so fine.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:10 AM) :

So very handsome. Sigh.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:53 AM) :

Sikh chic!

Blogger Beamsteria said ... (8:33 AM) :

The worn-ness of the suit would otherwise seem daggy, but the decorative pocket handkerchief shows he knows exactly what he's doing... as does his stance.
This pic also shows how dusky and muted colours can be brought out by a bit of black accessorising - whether that's a turban or a handbag or the colour of your hair. I wonder what shoes he's wearing...

Anonymous jjj said ... (9:47 AM) :

no, this is not a "religious uniform of sorts." i know plenty of sikhs who wear bright colors. all the religious comments above are irrelevant, particularly when the commenter does not know what he/she is talking about. true, none of the comments were disrespectful per se, but please don't make judgments about something you don't know.

Blogger the_eye_collector said ... (9:50 AM) :

I knew I'd seen this guy somewhere before! Great combination of colours. Obviously the beard is a religious choice, but it does lend a touch of class, too.

Blogger Petulia said ... (9:53 AM) :

So awesome! The turban makes everything look elegant and effortless

Blogger Devi said ... (1:38 PM) :

Singh is King!

Blogger mi said ... (12:18 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 AM) :

powerfuL

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 PM) :

Love this!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:25 PM) :

I'm not really liking his outfit actually, but that is irrelevant because this is WARIS!! he looks good regardless

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:44 PM) :

re the "rocking the headgear" comment, i don't think he is wearing the dastaar merely as a fashion choice.

he does look great, though!

Anonymous christie said ... (11:29 PM) :

wtf are any of you talking about? it's waris. he's beautiful, smart, talented, and always dapper.

Blogger Jewels! said ... (10:46 PM) :

Waris is soooo chic...he's muse material!

Blogger Danielle said ... (12:06 AM) :

Thought I recognized him. His mother was my next door neighbor when I moved to NYC. Nicest woman in Brooklyn and she gushed endlessly about her son.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:30 AM) :

I've always wondered whether men with super long beards wear scarves and if so, how do they wear them. Does the beard go inside the scarf or out? From the photo, I guess beards go in.

Blogger Suneyla said ... (4:24 AM) :

Waris!!!!!! love his work !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:24 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:43 PM) :

Yes, awesome. The colours work extremely well. Excellent shot too -- his character almost seems superimposed on the background.
