On the Street......Fifth Ave., New York

This is the first time I have seen a men's jacket with a peplum-ish waist detail that looks reasonably normal.

love the colour of the jacket:)

Blogger stylethread said ... (10:23 AM) :

I don't know what it is, but I love the combination of black and green in the spring. Maybe it reminds me of life emerging from death.

Blogger TEXTSTYLES said ... (10:25 AM) :

actually more than normal, quite attractive. he sports it well

*bisous*

Blogger May Kasahara said ... (10:34 AM) :

that color is sultry.
green leather FTW.

Anonymous Elaine said ... (10:35 AM) :

He is a sweet young man! Thanks for the front and back views! The green color of the jacket is wonderful, as are his stance and smirk. Also the green on the building - love the artistic quality of the photos - with the taxi and spire in the background

Blogger Toil and Trouble said ... (10:43 AM) :

the green jacket is nifty. i'm kind of digging that from the back it has a bit of a doublet silhouette. i'm not digging the rolled cuffs on his jeans. is he going wading?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 AM) :

"reasonably normal" compared to Michael Jacksons leather jackets maybe.

Blogger norawoah said ... (10:48 AM) :

I love the cuffed pants and the flat shoes. Great look paired together!

Blogger Jen O said ... (10:52 AM) :

What a terrific doublet effect in back, it has possibilities... also the green leather--a real double take on that one.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:07 AM) :

Looks like a styler from the front and a woman from the back. That waist detail blows it.

Anonymous suzanne nelson said ... (11:12 AM) :

Cool jacket, nice details, beautiful colour, it looks really good on him. I like it when men use colour well. I'm not crazy about the rolled cuffs either but at least he's wearing jeans that fit reasonably ok and he's not exposing his underwear, the waistband isn't around his thighs or the crotch around his knees; i really hope that tend will die a death this summer...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:18 AM) :

He should give the jacket back to his sister. I love the intense color of the jeans though.

Blogger The Voguette said ... (11:41 AM) :

I love it!! he looks great!!

Blogger Angeles Almuna said ... (11:45 AM) :

Anonymous SallyO said ... (12:14 PM) :

The green leather is cool! He looks as though you have totally made his day!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 PM) :

love this jacket...reminds me of the jackets worn during the Italian Renaissance...did he mention where he found this jacket or who is the designer? I like everyone love the green color...kind of a mix between green apple and puce...lol...but it works..and love his attitude...style is 90% attitude.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:23 PM) :

AND the coolest shopping bag in New York as an accessory!

Anonymous Annie said ... (12:52 PM) :

Love the color, but I'm not crazy about the detailing on the back. It's too "foppish" for my tastes.

Blogger defeated.censor. said ... (12:57 PM) :

I enjoy the jacket, I don't think it's quite apple green, but I love the color most definitely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:24 PM) :

i love the jacket! its reminds me of my mother

Blogger Maria Kiriakov said ... (1:36 PM) :

Love the photography! Very inspiring!

Blogger Maria Kiriakov said ... (1:40 PM) :

The photography is great! Very inspiring pictures!

Blogger Krishna said ... (1:51 PM) :

Love the jacket - the back has a doublet Tudor/Toreador look, and the front has that long zipper! It's the perfect green to with the black - not too sure about the shoes and the rolled up trousers, but a good look all-in-all.

Anonymous George said ... (1:57 PM) :

colored leather is happening!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

No, actually the "coolest shopping bag" would be a reusable one!

Blogger Devon said ... (2:47 PM) :

this is so cool, your blog is utterly amazing!

Anonymous phyllis said ... (2:53 PM) :

That's gotta be a vintage jacket - so cool!

Blogger Caroline Bingley said ... (3:10 PM) :

I disagree. Yes: Gorgeous face. Great shoes. The green of the jacket is beautifu. He is dandy enough, however without the "peplum-ish waist detail". It's different yes, but not wonderful in my opinion.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:17 PM) :

Takashimaya... One of great Japanese department stores! My grandmother used to take me to the one in Ginza.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:21 PM) :

adore the shoes and rolled jeans!! nice, subtle details on the jacket (not to mention the color) makes it feel fresh, modern. great shots.

Anonymous Abigail said ... (3:42 PM) :

I can't tell if he just looks exactly like Cillian Murphy, or if he is, in fact, Cillian Murphy. Either way he's gorgeous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:56 PM) :

Jesus, I've been looking for a green leather jacket for MONTHS !!!! I'm jealous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:59 PM) :

Love everything about this ensemble except for the shoes.
I wish he was wearing a more substantial shoe, or even a boot - a nice ankle boot w/ a thin sole and small heel.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:24 PM) :

I want to know what's in the bag ...

Anonymous M said ... (5:25 PM) :

Zipper placement confirms that it is a woman's jacket...sometimes men can pull off women's items just fine, othertimes...well, it just looks like they raided their sister's closet.

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (5:35 PM) :

Great colour combination, subtle shape, nice proportions. Perfection.

Anonymous marC said ... (6:06 PM) :

There aren't many guys who can pull off the jacket length along with the cuffed pants, yet he makes it work. And that splash of green in an otherwise monochromatic look is brilliant.

Anonymous olivia said ... (7:22 PM) :

I am not against it per se, but I do think there's a good chance that's a woman's jacket. I love the color.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:33 PM) :

You haven't seen that on a men's jacket because it is a women's jacket. The zipper is on the opposite side.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:38 PM) :

With that face (and hair!), he could be wearing a plum velvet duster with a frothy lace ascot and I'd think he was perfect. I'm guessing that jacket (borrowed from the women's dept. no?) is just a bare hint of the attitude within...

Love.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (8:55 PM) :

From the back, it looks like a jacket for women, but from the front it's a men's jacket...

Blogger JoLynn said ... (9:54 PM) :

I absolutely adore that jacket!

Blogger spiceamI said ... (1:19 AM) :

Great ensemble. Scott, I heard that you were visiting us here in Australia.

I'm hoping that you will find some time for a 'fashion photo fix' around n' bout in Melbourne and Sydney. There are some great stuff out here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:37 AM) :

I wonder if the bag was an accessory or a purchase... and if it was a purchase what was inside... if it was an accessory what was inside? Yes this has filled me with wonder, and judging by his gaze this was his intent. Wonderful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:01 AM) :

I love the colour of the jacket - pretty unusual for leather.

Not sure about the rolled-up jeans, though!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:26 AM) :

what are those shoes?

Blogger Susie said ... (8:22 AM) :

I love everything about the look. Its great and looks perfect on him.

Anonymous sanmiguelense said ... (9:05 AM) :

The perfect outfit for the top floor of Takashimaya!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:55 AM) :

... honey , does this jacket make me look too Takashimaya ?

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:30 AM) :

Very Renaissance! Very Cool!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:53 AM) :

I bet that's a womans jacket

Blogger Celia said ... (12:19 PM) :

Silver zipper, white cuffs, white soles.

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (12:36 PM) :

Three top-heavy outfits in a row. As if the legs are screaming for Spring. These shoes are so flat they look damaging to the normal foot. Some arch support please.

Blogger Kelly Walker said ... (2:48 PM) :

BEAUTIFUL color
<3

Blogger Metro Profiles LA said ... (3:18 PM) :

I'm not so into the peplum waist and would like the jacket better without it. But I love the front view- black contrasting with the green and the white on the shoes. Even the shopping bag looks good with it. Very nice!

Anonymous noel said ... (3:49 PM) :

vive l'empire state building!!!
great jacket, agreed. isn't peplum of ancient greek derivation?

Blogger Ayana Campbell said ... (5:17 PM) :

love this jacket...the color is gorgeous!

Anonymous kayWard said ... (6:25 PM) :

Give me his address. And if the green coat goes missing, it wasn't me.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (10:02 PM) :

Very nice jacket and hair. The cuffs are trying too hard to push the envelope. Maybe they'd look hipper on a taller guy.

Blogger Starck Mad said ... (11:18 PM) :

This jacket looks great, from the front. You can't go wrong with a simple, body-hugging leather jacket.
From the back? Sorry, but it looks like something Tonya Harding would 'take to the ice' with.

Anonymous Adam said ... (1:04 AM) :

it's not a men's jacket...look at the zipper. :)

Blogger Harsh Sethia said ... (4:20 AM) :

I love the jacket!! Fab colour and the all black with one key colour always works :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:25 AM) :

ohh this is totally on my satorialist favorites list!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 AM) :

he is sweeeeedixh! like every great looking people :))

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:35 AM) :

I think the color really makes this jacket. If it was dark brown or black we wouldn't look twice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:18 PM) :

i really shouldn't be wearing such flat shoes given my stature, but i absolutely LOVE his shoes!! does anyone know where they're from?

//n

Anonymous Devi said ... (8:26 PM) :

hi anonymous at 11:18 am!
i am his sister, but it's not my jacket.

it's our step-grandfather's. my brother found the jacket while rummaging around gramps country house.

haha, and yes, anonymous at 9:31 am, he is sweeeeeeedixh.

and he's the best looking brother in the world.

Blogger chloe said ... (11:01 PM) :

he looks like Montag from the Farenheit 451 movie.

like his jacket a lot!

Blogger Varia Karipoff said ... (6:38 AM) :

oh my god i have the same jacket and i live in melbourne.

Blogger Ruhvana and Flanelli said ... (11:19 AM) :

I really like this look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

People

Either zips have a different 'handedness' in different parts of the world, or this is definitely a man's jacket. The moving part of the zip is on the (model's) left hand side - which is exactly where it would be in the UK on a man's garment.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:55 PM) :

He looks like he could kill could kill a polar bear with one foul swoop.

I like the rolled cuffs. They sqy, "I don't believe in tailors.. so get over it."

Anonymous Anja said ... (4:28 PM) :

For the record, this is not a one hit wonder, he always dresses this good (and better). And it doesn't even looks as if he made an effort. Unfair.

Tillräckligt snällt?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:26 AM) :

Black with a shock of color always works, every time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:34 AM) :

ah! i saw this person on the subway last night. you should have gotten a shot of his striking blue eyes, just because.

Blogger The Modern Spirit said ... (5:10 PM) :

Sweet jacket!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:44 PM) :

Change the shoes, roll down the trousers and he's onto a winner. I adore the green jacket.

Anonymous David said ... (5:45 PM) :

i'm not seeing peplum. that looks like the standard kidney belt feature on the back of a motorcycle jacket. if he zipped it the back wouldn't flare out, it would nip in.

Blogger dalia said ... (8:08 PM) :

that is a lay-tees jacket, sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 PM) :

Reminds me of Peter Weller for some reason. Great look.

Blogger fanch said ... (12:06 PM) :

When will you stop with those ridiculous rolled trousers ?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:29 PM) :

i think his look is fresh!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:32 AM) :

I like the combination of green and black, and agree about the peplum. However, no matter how often I see it I am never going to like the rolled up trousers look.

Blogger Matt Wilson said ... (9:42 PM) :

GIMME

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:28 AM) :

Everything about him is perfect.....except for the shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:51 AM) :

He is wearing street vintage style, the green jacket is dividing opinion though, I say wear what you feel comfortable in.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:07 AM) :

its puckering not peplum......
