Blogger James Taylor said ... (5:42 PM) :

This gentleman has appeared on this blog a few times. He looks good here. Not many men can pull off white jeans. Fortunately he can. I think I can too!

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:44 PM) :

Amazing picture!

Anonymous Vermine said ... (5:59 PM) :

Hey, that's mister Persol / tight white tee.
Still rocking the tight white and nicely working the shades.

The contrast is fun and interesting between his minimal elegance and those hyped Balmain shoulders...

That's a quite good photo that questions fundamental fashion concepts and maybe deviances.
Male and female acceptation of exhuberance in style too, for example.

Very well done.

Blogger Becca. said ... (6:01 PM) :

i love the military jacket!
would you like to swap links?
xx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

I love these two! They are always in The Sartorialist.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:08 PM) :

love her jacket....saw them few times on different magazines. Can anyone tells me what is that brand??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:14 PM) :

Ok, now she is trying too hard. I'm getting a bit bored of the Balmain look, its being used too much at the moment, which is the problem...only a few have been able to pull it off, such as E. Alt

Blogger Carlos Mangubat said ... (6:14 PM) :

Blogger FIDM Blog Girl said ... (6:40 PM) :

love the balmain jacket!!!!!!

Blogger indigo warrior said ... (6:47 PM) :

I *love* the broaches/button covers on her blouse. It's so nice to see pretty, femmie things. And of course, love the buttons on the jacket, wish there were more!

There is always room for more buttons!

Blogger rebecca joy said ... (7:38 PM) :

that jacket! and he looks like he belongs in a calvin klein catalogue. love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:58 PM) :

He is gorgeous.

Blogger Jonathan said ... (8:07 PM) :

I love the simplicity.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:14 PM) :

I think her shirt is DELIGHTFUL! A match made in fashion heaven!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:16 PM) :

I really can't decide how I feel about the Balmain jacket. Honestly, I like it but know that it is completely over-done. Women need to put those in their closets for 10 years, and when they become suburban moms it will be useful again. Because
1. Their daughters be the hip girls.
2. They will remember and remember their youth.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:25 PM) :

White pants look great on a man - who'da thought!?

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (8:29 PM) :

You've posted lots of pictures of George Cortina but this is the first one in which he's smiling. He looks GREAT!

Anonymous Yvette said ... (9:22 PM) :

Yay to the guy, and nay to his lady friend.

Blogger Patrick Mercier said ... (9:28 PM) :

He is definitely emanating an air of self-confidence and yet his outfit alludes to so much simplicity. Way to go Mr. Cortina !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:31 PM) :

Can you say "Bal-mania"?

Blogger Matthew Archer said ... (9:57 PM) :

anna is so great.

Blogger CW said ... (10:00 PM) :

He's dressed very Nautica/Lauren. She's dressed very 1980's, like one of the secretaries in the opening of "Working Girl."

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 PM) :

Mr. Cortina is the epitome of style! Always elegant but understated.

Anonymous Rob said ... (10:04 PM) :

He's amazing. Why is he always on her arm? Should be on mine, or me on his. Very handsome man.

Although... She is rockin it. It just seems like they don't quite fit... together.

I don't like coordinating looks for couples by any means. But I think you should at least look like you're both going to the same place.

Oh well, maybe they aren't.
In any case, together good, amazing separate. Or maybe I just want him to myself.

Blogger kelse said ... (10:36 PM) :

she means it.

Blogger Yoli said ... (10:37 PM) :

This reminds me of Carol Burnet acting like Vivian Lee in the sketch of Gone With The Wind.

Blogger Roo said ... (11:07 PM) :

OMG I have never seen that Balmain jacket on a normal person!!! That one is my favorite, I was soooo pissed that it sold out on net-a-porter.com in less than a day. it makes the jacket seem a tad bit more attainable to the rest of us, even if its just a tad.

Blogger xiao said ... (11:24 PM) :

what a chic jacket!! i love it!!

Anonymous elisabeth said ... (11:46 PM) :

He is simple perfection - crisp, casual and striking. In contrast ( not to say that contrast can't be terribly interesting) she looks fussy, a bit over done. Perhaps if she wore the jacket with a simple white T.... to my mind it's just too much of an otherwise good thing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 PM) :

chris martin would be proud of this jacket

Blogger Heather Li said ... (11:55 PM) :

Mygawd... Love the slim-fitting navy turtleneck and white jeans. So sophisticatedly casual.

Blogger Justine Pombo said ... (1:54 AM) :

How does she have that jacket? I would kill for the Fall 09 Balmain tailored jacket. Her and the guy are very stylish and look good together though.. his watch is nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:03 AM) :

interesting, love the duo and the balmain jacket of course.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:08 AM) :

George is one of the funniest men i've dated. A true class act.

Anonymous suzanne nelson said ... (3:27 AM) :

Love the gentleman, nice twist on a classic colour combination and a siple jeans and sweater look. Yes, he pulls of the white jeans very well, i like his manly watch too - a Rolex?? The lady - i'm sorry oo many trends on one body. The Balmain jacket is everywhere - for a reason, it's fun and different - but i think it looks better fastened. I don't like it with he leather leggings and dangly earrings, personally i think the jacket looks better dressed down and so do tight leather leggings-neither is happening here. The gold bracelet, ok, it's a pet hate of mine, but don't mix gold and silver unless you're Pam Hogg...

Blogger Love + Cake said ... (5:34 AM) :

Loooove her outfit!! The pants, the jacket...brilliant :)

Blogger Zubaida Jacob said ... (5:36 AM) :

hot balmain jacket!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:12 AM) :

She looks too Balmain! Who's the person behind the designer cover?

Anonymous noel said ... (8:21 AM) :

i love this photo. it's carefree and uncomplicated. cropping is charming, suits the people's expression

Blogger LivingGolden said ... (8:21 AM) :

He looks fabulous. Simple and clasic and elegant. She is beautiful, but I'm not feeling the outfit. The balmain + the broaches + the earings + the bracelet is completely overdone. I've yet to become a true fan of that jacket. There was one picture I saw on here where someone puled it off. Otherwise, the jacket makes you look like you have a humped shoulder.

Anonymous sarahn said ... (8:46 AM) :

I might be the lone dissenter, but these Balmain jackets just look ridiculous. So obvious and costumey.

Even in a casual outfit, the accessories really make the gentleman look put together. The white jeans are so stylish.

Blogger Ruhvana and Flanelli said ... (9:12 AM) :

That jacket with leather is almost too powerful combination, but it looks good on her.

Blogger Jazzbuff630 said ... (9:20 AM) :

Love the jacket, and the guy looks
Steve McQueen-level cool

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:24 AM) :

Anna has always been a great fave of mine but lately not so much. Her style seems a bit off it's usual easy chicness. It's like she's trying too hard. She looks restrained. George is the best!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:30 AM) :

actually the jacket would be cool with white jeans as well.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:43 AM) :

Happy that the 80's are back at last?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 AM) :

She is so 2009.
He is timeless.

Anonymous princess glee said ... (11:24 AM) :

Hurry, hurry, step right up and get your tickets to the greatest show on earth...

Anonymous louise said ... (11:33 AM) :

Obviously Anna dello Russo lives for fashion, and can wear anything. Still, I often feel she's overdressed and wearing 'it' items rather than expressing herself. I know she's a collector, and has access to everything, but this jacket, as beautiful as it is, is overexposed already. George Cortina looks natural and chic.

Blogger Pam said ... (11:50 AM) :

I love his style. He always looks fabulous!

Anonymous fi fy fo fum said ... (11:57 AM) :

I'm afraid her outfit is a little too pantomime for my liking.....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:11 PM) :

The jacket is to Michael Jackson for me...... Will last for about five minutes. Just my opinion!

Blogger kellywinonaoxford said ... (12:22 PM) :

I can't imagine wearing an $11,000 jacket. Ever.
Unless it was a costume I had to wear for a film.

Anonymous evalyn said ... (2:33 PM) :

Yeah, he's cute. But her - she's amazing. I never thought anyone could carry off that combo, but she does it. The pants are perfect for the jacket, and the blouse. . . well done.

Blogger Wanderlusting said ... (3:42 PM) :

HE, though, looks fabulous - maybe because he is in contrast to her but really, this is why NOT following every trend and relying on simple, classic looks will always stand the test of time.

Anonymous Tilly said ... (4:04 PM) :

the strong hard balmain jacket contrasts beatifully with his soft fresh look but I wish she had worn something simpler underneath to really show it off. theres too many things going on with her outfit

Blogger dani said ... (6:07 PM) :

what is the brand of the white pant?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 PM) :

I am dying to know what shoes he wears with his white jeans? Anyone have suggestions? i never feel totally satisfied with the choice i make..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 PM) :

Hmmm... A heavy, black, 19th-century-inspired military jacket with exagerated shoulders and ornate stitching from Balmain... worn over a Givenchy white top with a fancy collar... festooned with more Givenchy- baroque pendants on the chest... all over tight black (looks like)leather pants...

A bit too much no? Especially since she wore it during what appears to be a sunny, spring day.

Blogger Lucy in the Sky said ... (3:45 PM) :

woah another woman in that Balmain coat?

Blogger junglesiren said ... (3:47 PM) :

Ms. Anna always looks good. Even though I don't like the Balmain jacket she does rock it as well as Michael Jackson AND Sgt. Pepper did.

Mr. Cortina is really the epitome of Euro cool. He always looks like he's on his way to his yacht.

They look like they're going to different events.

Blogger Jatlee said ... (6:01 PM) :

i have seen her some where?

Anonymous CK Dexter Haven said ... (6:05 PM) :

That dude is always right.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:29 PM) :

I don't think her outfit is too much. It would be if she had on lots of make-up and very "done" hair and were not smiling un-selfconsciously.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (5:57 AM) :

I like his outfit.

Anonymous Bazza said ... (7:56 AM) :

Do they make that shirt for men?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:01 AM) :

Wow -- great smiles, good colors; but not loving the leather pants!

Anonymous ERD said ... (5:45 PM) :

He looks good no doubt but can't get behind the leather pants!

Anonymous Elan said ... (2:04 AM) :

The lady is just perfection. The shoulders, the leather tights, just clearly define the word edgy. this is love.

Anonymous les jumelles said ... (7:08 AM) :

i love the bracelet!!!

Anonymous Jannemieke said ... (7:44 AM) :

I know it is a Balmain jacket, and I should love it, because everyone else apparantly does, but I think that jacket looks like something she stole from someone who works at the circus. Just because it has a name or brand does not always make it a beauty!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:05 PM) :

bro is better dressed.

Blogger Shaynuh said ... (3:50 PM) :

I love that Balmain jacket!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 AM) :

I love the Balmain Jacket..

Blogger Bryan said ... (11:02 AM) :

Echoing the wish to know what shoes he's wearing with this.

Blogger premsone said ... (6:56 PM) :

The more i looked at this picture the better and better it looked. At first I dont know how nice it was to see them two together. Separate they would look just great. Together her jacket gets iffy. But separate it is more understandable. He just looks awesome, impeccable. Individually she looks great too.
Then I started thinking why not? Fashion is about expressing who you are, and it is not discriminating. Two people with two very different looks might have very different opinions and thoughts, but to see them together with those smiling faces I think its just wonderful! It makes me feel good after a while! Great pic!!

Anonymous crowsfeet said ... (9:37 PM) :

never get tired of white and navy -

I am already tired of the jacket that is wearing her -

quite a study in contrast!

Anonymous Angel said ... (7:46 AM) :

I D.I.E. for her jacket!!

Love, want! Viva La Balmain

xx

Blogger Maria D.L.A. said ... (9:28 AM) :

Who she is?Anna Dello Russo?really?love her and her strong outfit.
I think that in general you need to have a strong personality if you want dressing eccentric (and not easy) jacket.love it.

Blogger Elizabeth said ... (12:43 AM) :

I want those leather pants... it is EXACTLY what i'm looking for. The Balmain jacket.. mmhhh not my style. A very nice couple.
Elizabeth.
