Comments on "On the Street......Sisters & Friends, Paris"
The dress on the left is absolutely perfect. Their shoes are great too from what I can see.
That is terrific - to have someone close to share a love for style.
it makes me wish I had a sister
The dress is the first picture is gorgeous! :)
The shimmery tights look amazing!
I love how the bottom two both posed the same way, with their legs raised slightly.
They gray shoes and white necklace add such a nice layer to the all black silhouette!
Absolutely divine love the curls ooh i wish i had a sister a twin would do....
beautiful!
Love the first image. The tights and then the vest, beautiful!
LOVE THIS!

So cute!!!
;-)
the friends have such style
The first picture recalls Dante Gabriele Rossetti. Great !
The top picture is kind of Sart does Diane Arbus...it's wonderful. The girl on the left looks like she should be in a movie, her hair and the lace dress make her look ethereal.
The sisters and friends are absolutely beautiful. I admire their sophistication, although I wish they would add a little color to keep it lighthearted. I'm also not a fan of the pidgeon-toed stance.
Stunning!
the twins have such a different look, exotic

Homage a Diane ; Bravo !
I really have no idea what's going on in Paris since I left but I had never ever seen black so widely spread! Maybe It wasn't a misfortune as I could apprehend at one stage for I miss certain stores/shops/museums but since I'm "blackophobic" to the extreme!
absolutely gorgeous!
simplicity and understated, could be any period
wow, what lovely ladies.
legss on thatt
I love the first two - and love the second too. Big Love all around.
I love how the first twins (I've seen them before on here) keep to their romantic, Victorian styles (Velvet vest on one, lace dress on other) but still march to their own beat as individuals.
And the second pair - well they do look like they are going to a funeral, but they will be the best ones there! Love the silouhettes!

love the choice of hair style in all four looks
Quelles jolies mesdamoiselles!
Is there something in the water in Paris that makes the women so chic? There are chic women in other cities, of course, but they're not quite so ubiquitous.
My only critique is that I wish the girl on the left in the first picture would do something else with her hair. Her hair is so heavy that paired with such a light (weight-wise) outfit, it kind of throws off her proportions. And she looks like she's trying to hide behind her hair and she doesn't need to -- like her sister, she's gorgeous.
just... AWESOME. nothing much else to say. awesome, awesome, awesome.
The four of them are lovely as they can be!!!
Wowow these photos are amazing! I'm loving that girl with the lacey black minidress and patent boots, combined with her curly, radiant hair! HOTNESS.
Btw Scott, I remember seeing you around my campus, FIT, awhile back...but was a bit "star struck" to say hello. haha... great seeing you in person though!
Oh, absolutely love this! Makes me miss my sisters even more :)
xx
The second photo is reminiscent of Martin Munkasci's, Boys running into the surf at Lake Tanganyka. The clothes are negative space; utterly flat and geometric; cutouts from the landscape. It's a powerful effect.
oh god, loved the hair and the shoes of the girl in the first picture on the left side. the "black" sisters are simply gorgeous.
The silhouette of the girl with the white necklace is so very cool and elegant at the same time.
How lovely! Both pictures absolutely charming, they've raised my spirits. The 1st two look like 21st century pre-raphaelites (and I hope no one thoughtlessly suggests they straighten their hair this time) and the 2nd two look like 21st century heroines from Victorian novels.
The best part is, you just KNOW these girls swap clothes and accessories all the time. Sister = instant double wardrobe!
For the girl on the left in the first pic, I love the shoes with that amazing lacy dress (although I'm curious what people have to say about the length). I'm not sure what the weather was and exactly how practical this outfit is, but . . . perhaps her long pretty hair can keep her warm. :) Her sister is also really rocking that vest.
As for the sisters in the bottom picture, I love how the girl on the left just seems to radiate bubbly light, while the one on the right has a very demure, subtle-but-undeniable presence.
love the coat in the second picure
Love the two in the 2nd photo..so elegant!!
The friends really match : the way they both wear black but different shades, different accessories: great exemple of how black can be personalized into something that allows to make the difference

love these photos
The same twins from October 20th, 2008!
I really like the boots...
money talkin
wow i love the one on the left in the top picture!!
Beautiful! They all belong in paintings.
Love it. Any one know where the white necklace is from?
Cute and fun. Nice photos!
Looks amazing! I love the fellowship of the first picture!
The amazing blog as always!
Xoxo.
beautiful pictures!
i love the women on the right in both pictures.
So FRENCH!
I love all 4 styles!
:)
Beyond Adorable!!!!
Wow. Those curly haired twins... Does anyone know who they are? I've saved lots of pictures of them on my computer, they're always so gorgeous.
Wow. those curly haired twins... Does anyone know who they are? They're always so gorgeous...
I adore the elegant, echoed curve between the suede shoes and the cut of the amazing coat. Way to go, girl on the right side!
The two friends have an incredible gothic-chic look, but the sister on the left needs to wear some pants, leggings... anything. She has lovely legs, but that is a *top*, not a dress. O_o
love the first photo. i find the contrast thee childlike outfit with the long hair and bare legs against her sisters more grownup look with the trousers and ladylike purse really interesting.
OMG it's the twins(sisters?) with gorgeous hair! I loved their hair. Good to see that they kept it long and nice.
Both mademoiselles are equally stunning. Makes me miss my sister.
Really evocative and artistic photos, congrats Sart!
That curly hair is a poem.
Oops I was only commenting on bottom pic.
Above pic: I wonder if they know they ebb and flow with each other. One's hair's loose and the other's tied back. One's legs covered and the other's isn't. One wear's jewelry and the other doesn't. Very complimentary.
The second shot is lovely. How can you not love black? How? I love how long and lean they both look.
Top photo - Both girls are in 60's chic but the one on the left could use a handbag, while the bag for the sister on the right is out of period.
Bottom photo - Are they morticians? Are they novice nuns? Did these young women just came from a funeral? The look is too stark.
stunning, fabulous twins the make the olsens look like yesterdays news
Aaaaah, the infamous model twins and their curly hair!!! I love them both, classic beauties, they came straight off a painting.
The second sibling couple is just awesome. Fantastic!
To have a sister is the most unique and wonderful thing in the world. Once lost, you'll never be complete again.
Sigh, another reason to leave the US. Your photos are wonderful and convey the ugly truth about America's take on style, life and society as a whole.
two amazing and beautiful sets of sisiters. gorgeous hair, lovely clothes!
These sisters put Mary Kate and Ashley to shame.
The top two girls are amazing - fabulous hair! Wish I had a sister, too. Great setting, Sart - beautiful allee.
I'm struck by the two girls on top, not so much with their clothes as their hair. They appear to be twins. If so, the different hairstyles do very different things for their faces. While I love the hair on the left as hair, I feel it rather overpowers her face. (I have the same kind of hair, and have never worn it successfully long because it overpowers MY face.)
Lovely clothes, though, in both shots.
I hope it was warm.
I love the black dresses in the 2nd image. So chic!
nice pic..
i like this..
good blog..
Thanks a lot..
diabetic diets
murad skin care
I love that Chanel bag and that black trench : ) So stylish !
i love the shoes on the first picture and the all blak of the second!!
the first shot: most amazing style.. love the way the right twin's jacket & her hair seem so awesome together.. this is the first time i like a jacket like that! the left twin is gorgeous in everyway.. what legs
the second shot: great girls.. lots of attitude.. nice silhouttes.. just one thing.. black is too safe an option.. but great anywyays
Wow, nicely done with, (goes and looks back at Henri-Cartier Bresson).
gorgeous photography sart.
Study in classics - The first one is oh so pre-raphaelite, the second turn of the century with a twist, oh, I do love those!!! And the "couple" thing is a great idea!!! Last pic I liked this much was the vue de dos des roman sisters. (I must say, though, that these pics have a more garance-y feel to them tnan what you do ordinarily...)
Gorgeous outfits!
The girls in the bottom photo look Russian.. lol.
The two sisters in the first picture look absolutely darling. Like ethereal characters from a fairy tale.
Beautifully gangly (top). Beautifully beautiful (bottom).
Love both photos. These young women have a sense of style that will certainly develop in the future. Would like to see them again in five years.... lovely.
These two photos are the best ones in long time! especially the girl's style in the first pic with the dress is amazing.
love the first photo of the twins..I think you have shot them before. They are stunning and that white Chanel bag really puts a little edge in the outfit!

Can we just clear something up, if you've ever spent any decent time in France, and not just in Paris, you'll know for a fact that it is a myth that french women have some inane gift of style. Even in Paris, the common or garden lady on the street is not, on the whole, so stylish as to grace the pages of this wonderful website. Yes, like any city, there are a few who ooze style and originality and who would look great in a plastic bag but on the whole in paris there is just a lot of black with the ocassional flourish of pillar box red plus, lets not forget the baba cool trend, prevalent amongst the french youth, which is possibly as far from high fashion as you could get.
PS. Is the one on the left not cold??
Very nice couple of photos ! Bravo.
Amusing me, the first sister on the left reminds me sex in the city.
twins, first picture, love the gold shimmery tights with the hair
Anyone know where I can find those kind of black boots the girl on the left is wearing? I have been looking for something like this for ages...!!
i wish my sister and i were half as stylish as those twins.
Lovely photos!!
All the sisters look fabulous!!
xx
the fur vest in the first pic, I WANT!!!!!
All these gorgeous women in such a place like Paris. Four good reasons for me to move there. Great shots, they dress well. Thanks Sart.
The girl on the left in the first picture looks like she forgot an essential piece of clothing, like opaque black tights--better yet, colored or even white tights or leggings. It's such a beautiful lace top, especially with her pre-Raphaelite looks. The girl in the bottom picture on the right looks Amish-chic--not necessarily a bad thing but a less severe hair style would balance the look.
I love both! The two friends are so Victorian chic. The sister on the left could actually wear opaque black tights, but she looks good indeed.
both pics are great!
4 classy, stylish young ladies, those sisters have awesome hair and that dress.......what can i say? perfect!
The gold tights complement her hair perfectly. She made the right choice. Also, I love the way the girl on right placed her hands, so natural. For the photo on the bottom, I love both hairstyles, and the way that they are both walking uniformly just makes the photo stand out even more. Great photos sart!
Sublime. Both the women and the shots.
I think that the girl's black look on the right on the second picture looks too serious for her age and artificial.
Oh my goodness, the HAIR! Such lovely, lovely hair.
The second pic is so August Sander...
I disagree with the anonymous who wrote that French women are not especially stylish. I think they are definitely the most stylish women on earth. Of course, not everyone is fit to decorate the pages of Vogue or the blog of Sartorialist, but the general street look is certainly 10 to 15 percent more elegant than in any other country I have visited, including Italy. (About 50 countries altogether). I am Scandinavian myself. I love the lady in bottom phote right with the big pearls and skinny pants under the convent dress with the zipper.
that is clearly how you wear a chanel bag - with character and class...not like those hollywood starlets who slap on their free chanels on top of tacky and/or unoriginal outfit choices
all four are lovely and what beautiful hair they have. very romantic, all of the hairstyles.
Looooooveeeee your pictures!
There is enough good stuff for at least 2 pictures I think. I like especially the look of the girl on the right - this is a so called perfection in styling - love the coat, the gloves, the necklace and the shoes (altogether and separately).
Sisters from the Jane Austen era, come to life and dressed in the fashion of modern times.
wow....the last one is such class.
I find these images very thought provoking. I love the twins. Great photos. THanks for posting them. Todd

brr! nice but cold
I adore the fur vest on the first picture! Does anyone know the designer or else about this item? The first picture overall is amazing, and the twins are classic! (Who are they - whould anyone share?)
thank you!!
Stunning lines!
Seeing the first picture I momentarily wanted to become a lesbian. Seeing the second picture I wanted to be Emily Bronte and Emily Dickinson both at the same time.
I'm pretty sure I've already seen the two girls on the first picture on your blog a while ago.
The girl in the bottom picture. left, has beautiful pins.
Does anyone know the provenence of the dress/coat on the right in the second picture? I'm dying for it.
this girls coat on the right is GORGEOUS!!! HUMPH!!! :/ i love i love,,,,and her hair too! double love love
The young lady with the beautiful hair looks like one of Gustav Klimt's muses...
That amazing hair is the best accessorie!
Well...
For those who want the cincilla fur gillet ...it is Loro Piana.
The girls look great!
Thank you Sart, you are such inspirationon the everyday!
J Naseiro.
The top left gal is gorgeous, but she looks incredibly boxy in that dress. I think if she just stood up straight...
This is a pic that is reminiscent of August Sander's work. It's beautiful. Composition, lighting, movement, the gaze, the outfits. Heaven.
love these, especially the one with 'the hair'. very interesting.
http://www.paperfashion.wordpress.com/
Nothing really stands out to me about the first pic at all actually. The hair on the left sided girl throws me off and the outfits I think are simple.
MY GOODNESS! The lady on the left (first photo) looks exactly like Mona Lisa! Anyone realise that?
first picture (sisters) - LOVE the contrast between the girls. i especially adore the sister on the right, and the deep burgundy colour of her fur vest. very luxe and practical! (and i am lusting for that chanel bag, its perfection).
second picture (friends) - this is pure victorian chic. i cannot rave enough about the silhouette of the coat on the girl on the right. i know its random, but i have never considered wearing jewellery on the OUTSIDE of a coat (statement piece or otherwise, not sure why!). im not sure if its my computer (or bad eyesight) but i love how her coat looks as if it fades from black up the top to navy blue (around where the coat opens on her legs).
great finds sart!
Wish I had a sister!
Paris has style, no doubt about it.
poesie and style...
Last two - fabulous!
J Naseiro - Thank you!!!
they are dressed so well together!!
I love everyone's look, style, attitude, the individual pieces--but what I love most about the second photo of the friends is how they seem quite content together. They look very happy and very close, and I enjoy looking at that.
i coudn't help but squeal "ooh gorgeous!" when i saw the bottom right girl... is she wearing really skinny pants underneath her coat?
i think i've seen the girls from the top before... one does not easily forget hair like that.
it was Karl Lagerfeld's show? i saw the 2 ladies in black too.
The second photo of the two friends really shows the power of the accessory. Though the woman on the left is taller and glows, my eye is drawn to the woman on the right, partly because she's in the center of the frame, but largely due to her contrasting necklace, handbag and shoes. I'm lazy with accessories, but this image is a good reminder of how useful they can be.
I've never seen in Paris such stylish girls =) dress is rather dangerous due to its length 8) coats are really cool!
wow... speechless!
SOOOOO CHICK
