Clean & simple. The perfect outfit.

Blogger Thomas Modeen said ... (6:01 PM) :

The safety-pin provides an interesting, diverging, take on the outfits formality...

Blogger The Concrete Commentator said ... (6:01 PM) :

hmm.. is that a safety pin.. love what he's wearing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

is that a kilt pin in his jacket? genius!

Blogger Danimal said ... (6:02 PM) :

Perfect. I wonder what hair product he's using?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:06 PM) :

Normally I don't comment on menswear, but this is just too perfect to pass up! I love, love, love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:14 PM) :

Tres cool.

Very chic. He looks like a character from "Twilight".

Blogger The Other Gotham said ... (6:27 PM) :

I loved the safety pinned YSL pieces!!

Blogger Nikki - - Monomestile - - said ... (6:47 PM) :

beautiful boy! I love the hair and the whole outfit looking very casual and very schoolboy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:50 PM) :

you can never go wrong with a classic look. who's this guy btw?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:18 PM) :

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but the cigarettes just ruin it for me...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:36 PM) :

Owen: The guy is Gustav Broström from http://modeman.feber.se/

Blogger Adriana Ximenes said ... (7:40 PM) :

The current super haircut ...
I found this interesting hook in the coat ...

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:54 PM) :

I adore the nappy pin detail, it really works here and the sweater underneath... perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:30 PM) :

1st thought: is that a safety pin?
2nd thought: bravo to whoever fit his suit.

clean, sharp, architectural: the perfect menswear equation?

Blogger swilek said ... (8:33 PM) :

i concur, i LOVE the kilt pin fastening his coat together! I have never seen it done like that before...very classic!

Blogger donut said ... (8:44 PM) :

CUTE ALERT!!!

What a sweet little face! Watch that ciggy! that poor girl looks flammable!

Dan, he's probably using a matte pomade like American Crew Fiber.

Blogger kara rosales said ... (9:00 PM) :

that's one definition of corporate.

Blogger Jules said ... (9:10 PM) :

I love it...the safety pin is a good special

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 PM) :

i love this simple and classic look. and he's a cute guy. :]

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:21 PM) :

yes i agree!
the collar on that jacket looks so good turned up... who'da thunk?!
whose pieces are they?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:23 PM) :

I just chopped my side part off. Don't tell me it's coming back in again!

Blogger Patricia T. said ... (9:25 PM) :

Yea he looks like Dr Cullens.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:27 PM) :

Adore this outfit, it's sleek, retro, and modern all at once. His side part is adorable, I also love the fit of his jacket and the pin (if that's what it is). Detest the cig though.

Blogger yankeegrl506 said ... (9:30 PM) :

VERY stylish. I love side-parted hair for some reason and i CANNOT rave enough about the jacket. The guy himself looks really young, and if I just saw his face, I would think he's in high school, which i guess is a good thing (I'm in high school, too)...

Blogger J U L I O said ... (11:13 PM) :

Is that a safety pin he has? It looks great on that jacket. Love the hair also, maybe I should leave mine like that.

Blogger diane said ... (11:51 PM) :

The only thing that makes this interesting to me is how his jacket is fastened.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 AM) :

That is a very sharp dressed man!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:32 AM) :

And he's 17. SEVENTEEN!

Blogger Breathless said ... (1:34 AM) :

This is great, very sleek and somehow still relaxed. Love the pin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 AM) :

he looks fantastic

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:45 AM) :

He has the demeaner of a young James Cagney from a black and white movie waiting to be made. Awesome.

Blogger erin nuts said ... (1:51 AM) :

Totally obsessed with that safety pin.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (3:59 AM) :

I have to agree with anonymous 7:18pm but this is a very cool look!

Blogger Iris said ... (4:00 AM) :

Wow! Who's this young man?

Blogger petra said ... (4:22 AM) :

i was about to say he looks swedish, so thanks Niklas for confirming! The pin makes the outfit interesting.

Blogger Sehb said ... (5:18 AM) :

Where did he find such a nice coat ? I'm jealous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:52 AM) :

honestly now, the fact that he is 17 ruins the whole picture...this isn't a suit for a school boy...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:04 AM) :

Great suit, great safety pin. But it is all a bit too neat and clean. Makes him look a bit like a schoolboy.

Blogger LivingGolden said ... (8:23 AM) :

His coat is amazing, but the look is almost ruined by the safety pin. It reeks of trying too hard to be different.

Blogger Emily L. said ... (9:26 AM) :

I LOVE the kilt pin. LOVE it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 AM) :

I think I am having a Sartorialist obession. The photos make my day, great images on style.com as well.

Blogger PicasaDegas said ... (11:23 AM) :

I can't believe nobody commented on the pockets on the suit. They make the suit have that modern/retro edge. Love the pin although its not the first time he's done this kilt pin on a suit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 PM) :

This is too contrived, too "home made". Adding a safety pin doesn't make the outfit any less trite, in my opinion. Uninteresting briefcase, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:28 PM) :

Dapper

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:13 PM) :

Very Tintin

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:57 PM) :

Very sharp. I really like the contrast between his youthful face and the professional outfit, haricut and portfolio. And the safety pin injects some youth and fun into the outfit so that he doesn't look either too severe for his age or like he's wearing Daddy's suit.

In the props to Sart on the photo portion of the comment, I love how he's standing in conversation with the girl, but he's looking a little warily at the camera. Also great how her muted color palette compliments his muted color palette. And the overall gray tones of your outdoor shots today are great (although they make me shiver a little in sympathy with the cold).

Blogger Pundit said ... (2:58 PM) :

Very handsome, indeed.

Blogger Passport Stamps said ... (3:14 PM) :

as someone said clean and simple

...and the pants are interesting too but the pin steals the spotlight!

Blogger CW said ... (3:45 PM) :

The safety pin shows that the suit jacket is too small.

Blogger The Guard said ... (4:27 PM) :

Fresh..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:38 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:19 PM) :

StocKholm ?

Blogger John Danner said ... (6:14 PM) :

...Pin closing the jacket is new to me. f--king great hair. He's 17, no shit?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:41 PM) :

Did I just find my dream man?

Is he really seventeen? Says who?

Blogger Maria said ... (10:02 PM) :

LOVE the safety pin!! Genius.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:59 PM) :

Isn't he 16? :o

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:22 AM) :

Absolute chic. love to him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:09 AM) :

I love his hair. It really helps him look polished and put together.

Blogger Nat said ... (3:15 AM) :

What an adorable face.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:10 AM) :

fresh and slim!!nice hair cut!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:10 AM) :

Yes he is 17, I know him in person. And yes, it is in Stockholm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:05 AM) :

He's seventeen, and he's my friend too.

Blogger Ace Azri said ... (9:27 AM) :

AWESOME LOOK! *jealous face*
adore this so much.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:48 AM) :

he looks like TInTIn :D

Blogger David Findley said ... (10:40 AM) :

His relaxed demeanor, that he 'owns' the suit, that's what makes it work. Inspires me to turn it up a notch!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:56 PM) :

anybody know where to find this jacket? i like the style of collar and the pocket...

Blogger Lia Martins said ... (6:13 PM) :

Love it. Indeed, if I saw this boy someday I'd certainly ask him to marry me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 PM) :

He's got the Tintin look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:10 AM) :

Good to see Gustav get another look in on the blog. He's got a special talent in style, and it shows here (though the brief case is a bit ordinary). The jacket reminds me of vintage YSL.

That's no ordinary safety pin, by the way -- it's a Raf Simons brooch.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:54 AM) :

This guy could easily get a job in the Twilight movie.. Love the dangerous classiness.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:11 AM) :

I've seen that already, huh? Stockolm?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:12 AM) :

Nothing bold except for the safety pin...and still...its perfect.... he popped out from that cruel intentions movie.... and the hair... sooo JAMES DEAN...zexyyy...the gals vest is awesome...

ps: quit smokin pal!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 AM) :

His bag is from swedish Palmrgens!

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:48 PM) :

much much much much much love. this is perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:22 PM) :

he looks like Malfoy from harry potter series.. no offense.. he looks charming

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:13 PM) :

but everyone dresses like this or has the same haircut in Sthlm. Besides the hip crowd, they all look pretty much like young lawyers.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:08 PM) :

He's the guy that does Stockholm Street Style. Modeman

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 PM) :

too cute! i love the whole look, but to be honest im surprised to see 17 year old boys wanting to dress so (dare i say it) corporate. very rare!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:51 AM) :

Love the dress and basically the look on the face of the boy. So confident and corporate..

Blogger About Me said ... (3:25 PM) :

gotta love the safety pin.

Blogger Shift Operations said ... (11:25 PM) :

His hair is real swell. Terrific shot.

Blogger lipsticklondoner said ... (1:29 PM) :

perfecto chic! I want his number yummy!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:36 PM) :

love the safety pin. down with the carry all though, too passé, too "am going to the bank to check on my account".
cigarette gives the naughty guy touch to this otherwise clean-faced "I'm just soo perfect" Nordic man (who never withers)
nico

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:12 AM) :

I'm more interested in how he used the safety pin! Genius!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:37 AM) :

so handsome

Blogger Stephanie said ... (11:44 AM) :

love the placement of the pin or whatever you call it. So unexpected

Blogger Preppy Cool said ... (8:32 PM) :

Very Holden Caufield... Safety Pin is a nice touch.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:41 AM) :

He looks fantastic!...i like the classic form.

Blogger Kent Johnson said ... (10:03 PM) :

This outfit and the shot so rock!

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (6:59 PM) :

Always love the jacket collar worn this way and the pin makes the perfect statement for it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:39 PM) :

He's just fifteen years old, and he's in my class so I would know.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:34 PM) :

So sick of swedes even though im one myself.. tired of the perfection and the grey colours.. but yeah he do look good.. but looks just like every other swede.

Blogger Molly B said ... (4:16 AM) :

dig the safety pin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 AM) :

the safety pin is toooo cute!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:53 AM) :

He's 17? we're of the same age..he's really cute...the cig is a deal breaker though...wonder what hair product he's using...

Blogger Anan said ... (12:40 PM) :

I agree, he does look like every other Swede, but I appreciate it anyway. Oh to be back in Sverge. And as much as I love the hair, this would look great with a hat. I can spot a Swede a hundred yards away if he's wearing a hat.

Anonymous principe di montenevoso said ... (8:29 AM) :

molto urban - dandy !!!!!!!!tanto cool

Blogger Jamie said ... (8:41 AM) :

Excellent - quintessential Sweden!

Blogger Lily Fritsch said ... (12:10 AM) :

I love the pin holding his jacket together.

Blogger A said ... (11:19 PM) :

I don't know what the etiquette is on old posts... is there a moratorium on commenting? I was cruising the archives looking for something I wanted to revisit (so many of your images leave a long-lasting impression) and I don't know how I missed this. I grew up in the 90's so the pin says "grunge" to me... it's a little touch of punk, like the hair. Borderline. Love it. Hmmm... he'd be legal now. :)
