The rows of trees act beautifully as wings for the elf/butterfly!

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (9:15 AM) :

I love the ensamble, truly I do. It does, however, remind me of the first week of spring quarter in college when the students are wearing their new spring clothes when it is still too cold. Oh, but she looks fab!!! Jorge from WPB

I love it because she is not wearing something grey and ripped underneath that jacket but something rather unobvious - genius!

That's the most wonderful dress I've seen in a veeery long time! I want iiit ;)

Blogger Paul Kierstead said ... (10:01 AM) :

I have to say, she looks cold.

I am surprised though, by how well the black looks with the dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:02 AM) :

seriously? looks like she raided her mother's closet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:06 AM) :

OMG. WOW. Anyone can id the jacket plus gloves?

Blogger Barbara said ... (10:18 AM) :

I'm obviously the only one not blown away by the wondrousness of this girl. I loathe what she's wearing. She's quite cute though...........

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:21 AM) :

Love her jacket, but the dress was a little too much!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:26 AM) :

i love the way she's working big shoulders by pairing them with a simply cut dress in a striking and unusual print. The jacket is fabulous, i like the cuffs and the black leather gloves are a perfect detail. she looks great!

Blogger The Voguette said ... (10:30 AM) :

ahhh c'est magnifique! i love how the brights are grounded with strong blacks! it looks amazing on her!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:34 AM) :

Im I the only one who thinks her legs look like stumps in those boots? I think this lady is beautiful, but the combination of bare legs plus gloves just doesnt seem appropriate for the weather, let alone the flimsy summerdress.

Blogger Randi said ... (10:37 AM) :

amazing. love the play of textures and color.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 AM) :

Love the jacket. Not sure about the too colorful dress. But the whole thing works pretty well...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:43 AM) :

Love it but wish she was wearing tights. The bare legs throw me off.

Blogger JouJou Loves You said ... (10:44 AM) :

ACCCCCCCK!!! Talk about eye candy. What a breath of fresh air on a dreary day. Just looking at her makes me feel more alive.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 AM) :

She's freezing!

Blogger Lucy said ... (10:48 AM) :

I love her gloves. I've had enough of YSL shoes... everybody wears them now!

Blogger Aline Dahl said ... (10:52 AM) :

perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 AM) :

for me, this is one of those rare instances when Sart has captured an image of the outfit wearing the girl.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:56 AM) :

Please someone who makes this incredible dress?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:06 AM) :

love the jacket(so Lady Gaga), and the shoes...but not that dress. How could she possibly resist with only that dress on, and without tight?! It's not summer!

Blogger hc said ... (11:11 AM) :

almost too miami-gauche, but perfect city to wear in (not many) to contrast the locale's mute skies, palettes, and conversations.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:13 AM) :

Boots without stockings is an interesting choice; the flesh tone helps balance the black and the wild print. A risk on a cold day, but it works with the rest of the look. I also like the touch of the gloves.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:22 AM) :

So very pretty...it is a shame there is not a leaf on a tree! I am afraid there is a long way to go before she is warm in this dress!! Exacting style nonetheless. Time for you to head to Sicily...it is so much sexier and warmer...I would love to see this dress without the jacket because I am sure it is not meant to be so covered up!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:23 AM) :

This made me go wow out loud. It's not something I'd design or wear but it is incredibly uplifting on a grey not-quite-spring day.

Blogger Montreal Fashion Minds said ... (11:26 AM) :

Great jacket and boots, and a pop of bright color is always refreshing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 AM) :

Paris is bleak. Thank God for the fashion, the gorgeous women, hot men and perfect croissants!! All I can remember is my little school Lycee Lamartine during the winter months...I was never so cold. I bought a pink dyed denim jacket with fake pink fur underneath it and wore it over my spring dresses ....just cuz it was dreary and I liked color! Guess global warming hasn't had an effect yet!

Blogger STEFANIE said ... (11:41 AM) :

Wow what a colour combination! Josh Goot really has the most amazing prints!

Blogger Live More Now said ... (11:48 AM) :

The shoulders on that jacket are killer.

Blogger suzannemarques said ... (12:02 PM) :

i remember these boots. i went out and bought them after your first photo of her wearing them. i love this colorful pairing!

Blogger Jojo said ... (12:09 PM) :

WOW. I think that's all you need to say really...wow

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:16 PM) :

These last three photos! Wow!

Now, I want to move back to Paris. Thanks, Scott, thanks a lot!! (Angry tone)

Who makes that dress, by the way? I HAVE to have it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:17 PM) :

lovely!

Blogger joiji said ... (12:39 PM) :

she must be an artist. so stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:52 PM) :

Between the jacket, the scarf, and the wind blowing at her dress, her body looks distorted--as if viewed in a funhouse mirror.

Blogger Stephanie Clayton said ... (1:07 PM) :

I could not love this look more! Wow! Who cares that she's wearing "summer" & "winter" items together. If this is the result, then I say wear it with panache!

Blogger Jessie Leigh said ... (1:07 PM) :

The leather detailing on her jacket is painfully beautiful. Reminds me of the F/W 09 Balmain

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (1:16 PM) :

It's memorable, but I need her to look warmer.

Blogger Wanderlusting said ... (1:20 PM) :

WOOOOW!

I love it. LOVE IT! Perfect pop of crazy sky pastels anchored by black.

And that hint of yellow from the YSLs compliment the dress perfectly

This is beautiful. I am glad to be getting back to real fashion, not just folks on the street trying to be unique.

Blogger DRINK COFFEE WITH ME. said ... (1:27 PM) :

We've seen those boots on her before! I love signature pieces!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 PM) :

She's giving me reckless.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:58 PM) :

How did she pull off such a forceful look and still appear sweet and approachable? I love the color of her dress and how it's paired with the black. I'm really admiring the shiney black boots that make your legs look as if they've been inserted into a bucket, find it playful and charming, I guess.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:03 PM) :

And again.....wow!wow!wow!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:09 PM) :

it's all about framing, a nice black frame.
really nice!

Blogger Lisa said ... (2:19 PM) :

I rarely comment on your posts, but I had to stop and express my admiration for her dress. The colours just bring to mind everything wonderful about a spring garden coming into bloom--pansies and crocus and irises.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (2:22 PM) :

She wears the shoulders well!

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:52 PM) :

she wears these colours really really well. also i love how harsh the black looks against the gorgeous florals. so sexy.

Blogger B.B said ... (2:53 PM) :

That jacket is DIVINE! And the colours are fantastic, really suits her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:57 PM) :

miss this place so much...

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:59 PM) :

The dress is Josh Goot. The jacket looks like Balmain but I don't see it pictured in any of the collections on Stlye.com - if it isn't Balmain it's a very good imitation!

Blogger Solito said ... (3:02 PM) :

just perfection.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:06 PM) :

all of the contours in this outfit are odd but perfect matches, they compliment one another.

absolutely gorgeous!

Wow it's gorgeous! The texture makes it so special!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:57 PM) :

It's such a beautiful dress, and it looks great on her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:58 PM) :

This look is amazing. i would never have chosen the dress myself but it looks so good hows shes worn it, the soft feminine bright print contrasted with the tough edgy black... perfect.

Blogger Lauren said ... (5:45 PM) :

I am in love with the bright color and black combo this fabulous woman has going on. And those shoes!!! I'd die for them ; )

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:08 PM) :

If it's so cold that you must wear a jacket, scarf, and gloves, then it's probably too cold to sport bare legs. However, she is wearing a lovely, floaty dress, and I can understand her wanting to usher in the spring!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:17 PM) :

I absolutely love this look, she looks so fresh and vibrant, omg I would kill to look like this.the shoes are divinee, and the gloves give it the extra "woow factor".
all compliments!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:35 PM) :

The amazing woman is Christine Centenera - Harpers Bazaar Australia.
And that is a Josh Goot dress, anyone know where the jacket is from? LOVE!

I think she may be freezing cold with those bare legs but she does look earth shatteringly beautiful!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:41 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:01 PM) :

Parfait!

Love her blend of Balmain (-esque?) blazer, brilliant tropical swirls, and casually roped foulard. It must be very true to her personality.

Blogger Five Foot Nothing said ... (8:02 PM) :

She's been on this blog before. With the zipper dress that everyone loved. Yep, it was on 3rd December 2008.

Her name's Christine Centerera. She's the fashion editor for Harper's Bazaar Australia.

Blogger lenmeister said ... (8:15 PM) :

Blogger Hek said ... (8:25 PM) :

She is just incredible, what a fantastic look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:27 PM) :

LOVE IT! I'm quite sure the dress is Josh Goot - an Australian designer...

www.joshgoot.com.au

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:32 PM) :

She is an Aussie stylist...

Hot look but a little too cold for the Josh Goot without tights.

Mad jacket.... any ideas??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:34 PM) :

absolutely stunning...i think i gasped a little when i saw her in this dress

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:27 PM) :

WOW WOW, SHE IS CONFUSED AND I'M DAZED -ALL THE PIECES SEPARATELY ARE GREAT BUT WHEN PUT TOGETHER LIKE THIS THEY SIMPLY DON'T WORK MON CHERI!

Blogger Chris (Topher) said ... (9:31 PM) :

Oh my. I adore this.

Blogger E said ... (9:48 PM) :

So so SO perfect. That jacket would make my lifetime.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:49 PM) :

She works for Harper's Bazaar Australia, so perhaps the dress is by an Australian designer? It reminds me of Josh Goot but is too much of a swirly print for him... perhaps Romance Was Born?

Blogger Eyeliah said ... (9:54 PM) :

Wow, she took my breathe away.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:01 PM) :

Christine Centenera, she's an Aussie fashion journo (nice to see her flying the hypercolour flag in a Josh Goot). I still love the leather skirt look from last year but that's just more me, I suppose. I think some stockings would balance this a bit, but what I love is that it's not too trendy - you've got the platforms and the shoulders, but they're incidental to the DRESS. Give us a smile, though, love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:01 PM) :

so many have already commented....
she is perfection - truly. perfection
in a million ways.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 PM) :

Excellent use of black; it really frames the colors perfectly.

Wow. I rarely actually say that out loud but had to. Simply breathtaking...

Blogger wind said ... (10:21 PM) :

I think this ensemble is beautiful, strange and brave -- the finely sculpted shoulders a pair of the few I've enjoyed "big"; the dress at first glance I thought was a piece of liquid floating art superimposed -- but, speaking of art, why am I reminded
of Edvard Munch's "The Scream"?

Blogger Cassie Jo - Tofuscloset said ... (10:30 PM) :

awesome colors on the dress!!! and those boots are killer!

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (10:54 PM) :

First time I've made two posts for one pic, but I've gotta say THAT JACKET IS BEYOND FABULOUS!!!

Who designed it?

The dress rightly takes much attention away from it in this photo. I had to enlarge it to see everything, and I'm glad I did.

What I thought when I saw her enlarged: When she's a middle-aged woman she will have great memories of a well-spent youth.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 PM) :

I was in Sydney late last year and almost bought a beautiful Josh Goot dress similar to this...I wish I did, she looks stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 PM) :

so great. the dress kinda takes away from HER though.... a bit too bright.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 AM) :

The gloves and the bare legs don't work for me.
I'm freezing just looking at her. But maybe I'm just jealous because I'm in Montreal and we're still wearing snow boots!

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:00 AM) :

Those YSL ankle boots have shown up in a lot of your photos, I noticed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:02 AM) :

i love the yellow detail on the inside of her shoes.

Blogger suzzee said ... (2:05 AM) :

there's like two clashing elements that just don't go together. the structured gucci jacket alone is gorgeous... but the color of this feather light dress just kills the feel of the whole look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:50 AM) :

I think this girl has been photographed before? In new york with these boots and that short skirt with a zip that goes around it, a white singlet top and a scarf? I loved that look

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:23 AM) :

It's freezing cold these days in Paris. Her style does not go with the weather. The touch of color is fine, but there's something missing.

Blogger tizzylish said ... (5:49 AM) :

I love these how she cuts her colorful dress with her black jacket and boots...A little color does one some good in these grey Parisian skies!!

Blogger Olviya said ... (7:16 AM) :

bold shoulders and digital prints - what a mix!
it rocks with those YSL boots)

Blogger Lucinda said ... (8:09 AM) :

This is a great combination although I was a bit disappointed to hear she's an Australian just as I was getting excited about Parisians getting into Josh Goot. A great demonstration of Josh's fluid looks anyway

Blogger Un Monito said ... (11:26 AM) :

Trust me - when her boots hit the pavement, the clouds couldn't have parted fast enough...and that Parisian sun shone like it has never before. This is STUNNING. "Blade Runner" melded with delicate tulip petals. Again, nothing short of perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:20 PM) :

I believe I, too, said "wow" out loud when I first saw this. Her dress is brilliant.

My only disappointment is that there is no smile on her lovely face, to make up for her lifeless surroundings. If she had been laughing and full of life this would be a perfect look.

Blogger doingtheunstuck said ... (1:27 PM) :

WOW. I don't even care that the fabric of the dress looks too light weight for the weather in Paris. WOW.

Blogger Pelayo said ... (9:13 PM) :

Amazing!
I JUST LOVE HOW THE STRUCTURED HARD-LOOKING JACKET MIXES WITH THE FLUENT BRIGHT DRESS AND AT THE SAME TIME HOW THE DRESS GOES RIGHT INSIDE THE BOOTS (YELLOW TOO) THAT, LIKE THE JACKET, ARE STRUCTURED AND HARD.
WOW!

(I have to say im not a fan of the dress, she looks hot)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:30 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:54 AM) :

Love the juxtaposition of vibrant colours with edgy black jacket and boots!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:19 AM) :

Beautiful Josh Goot dress on Christine who always looks great albeit weather inappropriate (tank + scarf, gloves + bare legs)! I believe Josh created the prints by pouring colours onto his pc scanner and having the pictures made up on fabric! Very striking effect on a grey Parisian day anchored nicely by the black on-trend (read, chic but everywhere!) jacket and YSL booties.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:27 AM) :

lovely! i love that jacket. i wished we could wear something like that where i live and not melt under the sun. it's lovely i like the burst of colors on her dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:17 PM) :

I can NOT stope coming back to look at how amazing she looks!

Blogger Aaron said ... (10:16 PM) :

WOW!! It's a stunning dress, the contrast of the colours and black jacket isn't overpowering and works well. She's also stunning in her own right.

This season, I loved all the EDITRIX and Voguettes wearing Balmain jackets with their shades of BLACK leggings, jeans, leather pants, etc. This Aussie girl BLEW them out of the water with her FRESH TAKE on a gorgeous black jacket. She KILLED IT AT THE TRENCHES & PITS on a European gray day. "Parisian Look" is the trend this season, but she's ahead of the trend! THANKS SART.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:51 AM) :

she certainly makes a statement!

i kind of love how she doesn't really let the weather dominate her style choices (like the nyc pic late last year). at the same time, i think its crazy and wouldnt do it myself because i would without a doubt get ill!

either way, im glad to see a stylish aussie woman grace the pages of the sartorialist, and even more excited to see a beautiful dress by an australian designer featured so prominently.

Not sure who the jacket is by, but she was photographed wearing it in the March 2008 Australian Harper's Bazaar. So she had it Before Balmain's Spring 2009 show...so you would have to say she was in style beofore the other international editors. Go Aussie!

This girl definitely has some fashion sense. The combination of black and those wild and luscious colors is just outstanding. I love how the black leather jacket and ankle boots compliment the dress. MARVELOUS!
