I actually like the colors... well except for the shoes. For some awkward reason it makes me think of black socks. Yep, it looks like he has on those tapered pants with black socks.
This is a boring outfit in my opinion, except from the very nice pants and shoes. Perhaps I can't stand the sight of that jacket because I'm from Sweden which makes me pretty tired of heavy winter jackets and such.
I made the mistake, several years ago, of buying a similar duffle coat at a Burlington Coat Factory Store (I know). Short of arctic conditions, I would say there are very few occasions to wear such a piece- why not layer a sweater underneath a lighter coat? Puffer jacket, perhaps, puffer long coat, no. I do love his hat, scarf, trousers and especially the boots. I think his color combination is right on, and looks gorgeous with this background. Jorge from WPB

This coat looks like the black Woolrich snorkel coat I own. These down-filled, coyote collar coats are worth every penny you pay for them. I am not really sure they make them anymore, I bought mine 10 years ago, still looks new. Very durable, built to last. Great shot, Sart!

Great photo Sart! Parkas are so functional and great pieces for winter. When it comes to parkas I prefer the Canada Goose over Woolrich anyday!
i like the color and texture of his pants... i have been looking for some medium gray flannels for a while, but everything i find has been really wide legged and i haven't found a pair that i'm invested in enough to have a tailor recut them.
i feel compelled to say i like the chukka boots because i just purchased some very similar... they look dark brown to me, not black
however, i'm still not sold on how the boots look on his or my feet... hmmm... they do look better in the picture than from above on my size 13 feet

Initially I see this pic and I think yeah, so what. Then I admire the clean line of his slacks and boots. I see the scarf stands out b/c it's same color as his beanie and the two together dress up the jacket a bit. So there's a color story going on that I like and the gravel beneath his feet are a part of the color story. Coincidently fantastic how he coordinates with his surroundings.
This is not a duffle coat, it's a parka. (A duffle coat is wool with toggle closings, and would not have a fur ruff.) Good-looking parka, though.

This appears to be an example of affordable fasion. Similar trousers can be bought in Sears. The coat is similar to the US Army "Fishtail" parka (even though this one has either or real fur collar or a very good fake. The most expensive pieces are the muffler and what appear to be suede ankle boots.

Sart - shame on you. This is a military-style (USAF precisely) parka, not a duffle. Wouldn't a duffle have peg and loop closure and a flat hood? Although, I have to say I love the color, especially set against the lining/interior color barely visible.

I don't understand why a lot of people are complaining about the jacket. I don't know about other countries, but if you are Italian - especially northern Italy where it's colder than the warmer south- chances are you have this jacket. It's a fashion statement, you just have to have a woolrich arctic parka. I work in new york now and everytime I walk down fifth avenue and I see someone with a this parka I know they are Italian (well, along with the Prada shoes, Gucci glasses, Eastpack backpack, and that whole Italian mannerism). And yes, I'm Italian too :)

As said before, the guy is Dutch and the jacket is a Woolrich Arctic Parka. The pants are probably Incotex and the shoes Santoni.
im loving that this looks like a normal, regular everyday guy. and while i do hail from a sub-tropical climate, i do believe that most normal folk WOULD wear coats such as this one when living with very cold temperatures! not all of us sacrifice warmth to look utterly chic and fabulous.
i like the colours, especially the little hint of pale yellow on the underside of the coat next to the grey and his blue shirt. i like that he looks warm and comfortable. i especially like that he is well-dressed without having that extra pizazz so many of us have come to expect.
