Comments on "On the Street......Finger Waves, Milano"
That the joie de vivre I wish to have in 40 years time...
Wonderful, that jacket is superb, a beautifully balanced outfit from the finger curls down.
Love her! She is so cute. Yeah...she does have some nice finger waves going on. The wingtipish shoes she's sportin are nice too.
YES!!! i like alot the coat that might seeem to small...but is not. pretty grow up girl!
OMG!!!
I love her shoes and her tights...
great style!!!
i'm liking the velvet coat. where do i find me one of those?
Wonderful! What style - the coat is AMAZING.
Oh my gosh! This is definitley one of my absolute favorites already. Her coat looks so luxurious with her bag. The oxfords (although I don't really care for the white knee socks)and sunglasses balance it out, making it more funky than antiquated. I really hope I can have this sense of edge when I'm that old, not to mention her hair- its beautiful.
wow. brilliant!
I'm loving the inky hue of the coat and her knowing smile, but bothered by the untidy chunk of skirt showing below the hem of that beaut of a coat when all else is neat as a pin.
I adore her shoes!
I love everything about this look. That coat and those shoes are to die for.
That l'il lady is cool as funk. So is the coat
She has her style.I like her coat very much!!
Wow i love her! so stylish and elegant yet she manages to look really individual and intersting!!The coat is amazing ...her whole look is!
Sweet but not sure about the shoes...
hot mamasita. love the coat...the piping and the fabric do it for me.
LOVE HER! That coat... those shoes.. the glasses and the fun proportions of her skirt with the coat. She's doing a " little girl" look with such aplomb. Mmmm!
i love the blue (:
The shoes look really uncomfortable (but what do I know? I wear the Chuck Taylor's now and then. And something that might resemble combat boots, but I digress).
I love the coat. The wailing (is that how's it's spelled?). The buttons appear to be covered in velvet or (velveteen?)as well. It must be forty to forty-five years old.
Thomas don't wait to have joie de vivre. All any of us have is right now.
I am nearing her age and am hoping that at some point soon I can near her style. What a wonderful, confident and stylish woman.
Thanks
AWWW Que linda! She looks much more put together then half the people I see in d.c! Kudos mama!

what a beautiful woman, and what an original style?
what? i find this terrible. i always give a+ for personal style but..i'm not seeing the appeal here, especially the outfit with the shoes..
Like Jerry Seinfeld in the Marbled Rye incident, were I to spot this woman on the street, I might just steal her coat and run, run, run!
Absolutely breathtaking. I LOVE the white piping on her velvet coat, and those astonishingly unique shoes.
Love the look on her facce and her head-on into the camera stance. And look, she's not pigeon toed! Thank you for featuring a woman of a certain age.
That coat is to die for!!!!! Look at the collar!

You can dress stylish in any age. Of course that old ladies tend to be a little more conservative. She look's very good. The coat for me is the best piece.

Who is she, Sart?
Do you know?
Great coat. But like someone else said, the skirt peeping out is a little untidy compared to how execellente everything else is.

That is a great outfit. I hope in 50 years I could be that fashionable!
She's completely awesome! And that sapphire blue is so great on her.
the coat is nice but I'm not wild about it. I am loving her face and her hair. she's altogether great but her face is what's nice and the fact that there is finally a white-haired older woman in flat shoes, terrific!
If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the blue velvet! Wow. She's fully participating in life.
She is the owner of IMARIKA, a gorgeous little boutique in Milan
I love her velvet coat. The colour is perfect. Thank you for featuring an older woman.

Blue is definitely a HUGE influence for SPRING 10...She looks fabulous...
It’s so nice site. We love to see more on this site. Keep on updating… MonkAreYou Bali *fhjfg
fashion in ages is really charming...
sophisticated and funny, she seems to enyoy life. Like everybody else, I need to have this coat...
I LOVE the coat, however I'm not loving the stockings and length of the skirt underneath the coat- but she pulls it off well :D
What a coat! That's got to be the most gorgeous coat I've seen this year! And I love her hair--it reminds me of my grandmother's hair. Old fashioned and very stylish.
Love it. She looks fantastic.
I love elderly people who has style, nice!
love this pic!! especially love how her sunnies are a little wonky. she's so chic she has nothing to prove. her inky coat against the grey background is amazing too. hx
Thomas said he would like to have this in forty years - PLEASE GOD, let me have it NOW !!!!!
She just makes me smile.
wonderful woman, she dresses in colours of hope, especially the coat!
I am her age. All is fab 'til the bottom of the coat. Is that a denim skirt? Why the lumpy knee sox? Love the shoe but the white socks do not relate to the brown and ecru.
And I celebrate her verve!
the question is: how can someone be this FAB at this age?
i love love love the style!
Che bella!!!
Fantastic.
Reminds me a lot of prada.
Hmmm....coincidence?
she obviously has found the meaning of life. i hope i can too so i can look like her as time passes. love the shoes and the layering. thx for this pic sart.
What are finger waves?
ps Thomas: 40 years? Really?
looks like someone did a number on the Queen.
The jacket collar is amazing
I wish my grandmother had this style. The edges (piping?)on the coat is f--king greating.
P.s. I want to reach into the picture and fix her sunglasses. Ahhh OCD.
Oh, love this photo, and this woman. Elegant, yet kick-ass. Composed, but slightly left of what's expected.

this is me in ... 40 years?
That coat is luscious, velvet in ROYAL BLUE...brave...and amazing!
wow this lady looks spectacular!
I love this lady and her look! I wish I could take her home and have her change the way we dress. American seniors in my neighborhood are fond of elastic waist polyester pants, loud print smocks, and thick white running shoes with white socks. This lady proves chic is possible at any age. I don't understand why the 73 y.o. reviewer got so offended by our compliments. No one is implying she should wear minis and stilettos. Maybe she is stuck wearing the same uniform of older women in my neighborhood.
I agree with Thomas! the poem 'when I am old I shall wear purple' springs to mind.. I wonder if this was deliberate!
Wow, anon 1.21, you sound very angry about this! Maybe we can help explain the outpouring of positive comments...
1: She looks very Fashion - the layering, the mix of fabrics, tones and colours, the jolie-laid stockings and shoes. You have misinterpreted this look as 'frumpy' - an easy mistake to make if you are unfamiliar with this most Prada-esque of styles.
2: This is an unexpected look on a woman of her vintage as it is not necessarily flattering, but it very personal and speaks of a brave spirit.
3: Her hair is just plain cool.
We like her very much.
She looks really individual and that's what i admire, the confidence to set your own style, rather than follow the herd, to avoid the 'griege' and the blandly classic as one ages and fashion choices narrow.
Let's have more stylish and interesting older women on the site. Women of a certain age are virtually invisible and rarely cross the fashion/style radar.
Oh I love it, the whole outfit, the totally unselfconsious sense of style. The quirky wonderfulness of the shoes made me laugh and smile.
when i see pictures like this one, i take heart. there are still real people, really thinking out there. what a relief.
What a Dame....This blue velvet is a must have..and the 20's hair.... im in love with this lady....there's no excuse for anyone... this is how we should age.....lookin at her...makes me feel so happy...
there is no age limit to having an awesome style
cool cool cool
On dirait Mme Pompidou à ses plus belles heures :-)
I just saw her in the Westin hotel in Paris..just as fabulous ..such an inspiration. I love her
I thing those glasses don't fit her!!
I'm not certain what's hanging in the back of her skirt.
Maybe if she were smiling more the outfit would hold together better.
I know her very well..she is the owner of a fantastic fashion shop in Milan..and there you can find her coat, her shoes, her bag, her...
I love, love, love the classy older ladies and gentlemen who know better than to give up the styles of their youth.
They will always be those best able to pull those off.
That is a beautiful jacket, love the colour.
that is so adorable,
love her shoess
i hope i have that kind of style when I'm older (LL)
Yes! I know here pretty well...she is the owner of a beautiful little shop in milan....one of the few boutiques that still have Matilde cashmere.... the best cashmere ever ever ever!
Tina Cattaneo!! a celebrity in her own right!
Shoes really tell you who is a slave to fashion and who isn't.
Fashion never gets old, fashion is timeless and ageless...
