Now he looks comfortable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:54 AM) :

dapper, indeed. also love his grin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:55 AM) :

Each picture has a certain freshness about it. He looks like he is full of life!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

maybe it's the way he is posturing but the double-breasted jacket looks too tight on him

Blogger CW said ... (10:01 AM) :

Two different looks by changing jacket and tie in the airport waiting room. Well done, sir. And where did you get the turtleneck? I want it.

Blogger J. said ... (10:04 AM) :

Nice colors in the last one, really like the color of the jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:19 AM) :

Robert Polet is very chic that's true. It was pretty funny that he had only dealt with Frozen Food (at Unilever) before he comes to Gucci... But he definitely looked the part... People may not like what he did with Gucci but it is a good job in financial terms anyway.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:08 AM) :

His choice of colors is great - why doesn´t his smile reach his eyes?

Blogger Mr. Glenn said ... (11:09 AM) :

Truly nice clothing makes people happy...naturally.

Blogger MCCVI said ... (11:11 AM) :

That DB does not look very well fitting.

Blogger ododo said ... (11:14 AM) :

bellissimo!!!! elegante sportivo...ma tanta classe

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (11:22 AM) :

I think there are so many cliches associated with tweed (college professor, staid Brit, etc) that whenever one wears it you have to go either truly traditional (and further the cliches) or wear it with innovative pieces and, to paraphrase Paula Abdul, make it your own!!! For the bottom picture, I believe he does neither, but I bet he is warm! Love the pic on the top. Jorge from WPB

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:30 AM) :

Something about him is funny and elegant at the same time, disconcerting....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

Another inside job ! This is Robert Polet , CEO of Gucci .

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:10 PM) :

This clothing could have made him look like he was trying way to hard, the blazer, turtle neck, AND a cup of tea? But its the grin of self knowledge combined with fun that lets him pull it off so well.

Blogger junglesiren said ... (12:35 PM) :

He is the very definition of dapper. He rocks the tweedy look quite nicely.

Blogger Amra said ... (12:47 PM) :

What a smile!:D

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:02 PM) :

I want to buy a navy suit (although a single breasted one) but they're almost always pinstripe.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 PM) :

I hope he got a bonus this year.

Blogger hc said ... (1:08 PM) :

6/10. pocket squares have met their end. however, i appreciate the extra fabric in his jacket. comfortable is the new perfect fitting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 PM) :

See how his clothes fit? Snug and smooth agains his body? See how none of the buttons strain, the sleeve inset seam rests on the point of his shoulder, the jacket cuffs end just beyond his wrists. He uses many colors and some layers to create texture and interest. If his pants cuff above his ankles, I will be so disappointed. But, I bet his socks are little peeps of surprise.
Thank you, and well done.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:16 PM) :

Jack Lemmon chic. I bet he's just a cute when he's rumpled.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:20 PM) :

my friend I doubt that is a cup of tea, rather it is most likely an espresso (un caffe)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:53 PM) :

What an elegant man - with a smile like that he will disarm even the fashionistas.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (2:19 PM) :

Hello, gorgeous!

Blogger Ty Carter said ... (2:21 PM) :

Dapper indeed. Awesome work

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:27 PM) :

Mr Polet.... Like the expression in his face matching to each outfit! Business. Casual. Great to see the difference. Very congenial.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:28 PM) :

PS. Have a nice and sunny weekend!! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

The two looks are very different and say different things about him, but they both suit him perfectly. I suspect he is very interesting.

Blogger Julicious Fashionicious said ... (2:52 PM) :

Old classic!!Great that he is smiling!!

Blogger Wanderlusting said ... (2:58 PM) :

What Colin Firth will look like one day. Charming!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:22 PM) :

A full sized gentleman in well proportioned clothing showning 2 sides to his personality with reference to each city.Man maketh the clothes not the other way round

Blogger Mocchachica said ... (3:50 PM) :

This gentleman makes me smile. He's so bright-eyed! When a person like that smiles at you, you can't help but smile back. :-) I like the outfit in the second photo, great color combination.

Blogger Glenn said ... (4:02 PM) :

Not crazy about the turtleneck.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:28 PM) :

His smile is 100% class.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:04 PM) :

he tickles me. quality, approachable clothing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:25 PM) :

i love his smile!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:27 PM) :

So what if he IS Robert Polet. People that run companies can have style too. What gets me in these photographs is the CHARM that eminates through the lens. His smile makes me want to smile back. He smiles with his eyes. It is a wonderful thing to capture. Thanks sart.

Blogger Gillian said ... (6:09 PM) :

adorable! he looks like a mix between colin firth and george hw bush

Blogger Cassie Jo - Tofuscloset said ... (6:54 PM) :

lovely smile!

Blogger stephced said ... (7:08 PM) :

he's so cute, i love him!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:29 PM) :

clothing aside, his smile would cheer anyone up, as a garden gnome would likely do - say as a garden statement in a bed of daisy of delphinium...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:46 PM) :

smart, handsome, great casual look with the turtleneck

Blogger Rita said ... (1:05 AM) :

He looks so adorable in that second picture!

Blogger Lucy in the Sky said ... (4:58 AM) :

he's so adorable! love his smile! <3

Blogger emmanuel said ... (6:38 AM) :

two styles that make me think about Marlon Brando and the last tango in Paris...

Blogger STEFANIE said ... (8:56 AM) :

He's wearing a great smile!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:28 AM) :

The gentleman in the dark blue suit is very Cary Grant-elegant. Can I marry this handsome man? (Just kidding.)

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (9:32 AM) :

Inspiring in a different way- looking comfortable and composed in any situation. My shirt cuffs never show when I wear a knit shirt or sweater with a jacket- reassuring to see that his don't, either.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (10:40 AM) :

He looks like a very kind man.

Blogger LE CALZATURE said ... (11:01 AM) :

Very adorable man. Looks very comfortable and friendly. looking very sharp! Like his dress sense - the combination of casual with elegant. And of course the italian espresso in his hands does really make the difference!

Blogger Mina said ... (11:49 AM) :

Oh my goodness. In the first picture, he looks like an older version of Colin Firth!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:23 PM) :

Very nice !--Id love to see his shoes and socks ! :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:26 PM) :

AW he's so cute look at his face! He seems so sweet! Top outfit is very sharp, bottom one is equally so. He reminds me of Franklin the Turtle with the turtleneck and smile :D

Blogger Jespper Letargo said ... (3:06 PM) :

Even above the clothes and the pose he has to maintain, a real happy man. I don’t know his life, I don implicate complete satisfaction, I´m writing only about that victory implicated in be able to smile to photographers whit out no sign of hesitation.

Blogger Nostalgic Nosh said ... (5:27 PM) :

I love it, he looks so friendly. I want to meet him on the street.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:23 PM) :

I love smart suits such as these, so fresh yet original, i wish more men would look this sophisticated.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:31 PM) :

Ahh... this look easily could be found if u surf the web for 5 minutes everyday.

However, the "holding a cup gently" pose really matches with what he's wearing now. Green + coffee = Comfort

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:55 PM) :

what a smile!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 PM) :

I don't understand the second image, it looks rather generic and the look on his face is a bit creepy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:30 AM) :

I love his sheepish grin. He reminds me of Jack Lemmon.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:34 AM) :

great, like an english!

Blogger THE VEGAS STYLE GUY said ... (1:38 PM) :

What I love with this man is simple: He's appropriate for himself, his position and his age.

No logos screaming at me. No awful too short pants. No "look at how fashionable I am" false details and NO cigarette!

AND he has happy eyes, his most important detail.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:36 PM) :

Wow...so much texture in that blazer and sweater. Very classic looking.

Blogger Scoop said ... (11:29 PM) :

What a delightfully happy little face he has! Charming.

Today I met this site and I'm impressed.

Blogger Love + Cake said ... (2:20 AM) :

Love that second one. Classy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:58 AM) :

Scott, I contacted you when I was finishing a book cover portrait, trying to find an image of a man in a double breasted jacket. THERE WERE NONE. Now, they seem to have sprung up everywhere. Serendipity.
Now, at least I know my fictional subject will be in sartorial style.
Best regards, Marigail

Blogger Esti said ... (2:12 PM) :

Besides a very elegant businessman, he definitely is a happy guy. That makes his outfit much-much better!

Blogger Irene O. said ... (1:46 AM) :

Is he jack lemmon?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:44 AM) :

I like the suit picture, although a gentleman never puts his hands in his pockets.
The second picture is too "gauche-caviar" for my taste.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:58 PM) :

This world needs more people, whether in a superb jacket or a NASCAR T-shirt, with a kind smile. Bless him.

Blogger hippie_cyndi said ... (3:27 PM) :

other than the joker smile....he looks good.

Blogger crowsfeet said ... (11:48 AM) :

This gentleman has been added to my "damp towel" list... his clothes are dropdead in both shots, but he could make a damp towel look chic. Anything he wears plays second to that face. His expression is so warm and genuine and charming. I can't say if he'd shake my hand or kiss it, but I am certain either one would make me weak in the knees.

I'm so glad to see 2 other commenters see the resemblance to Jack Lemmon.

Blogger lilalebkuchenherz said ... (2:33 PM) :

seeing his grin i would like to give him a hug

Blogger Sinead said ... (11:11 PM) :

Such a happy face!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:43 AM) :

This guy has the greatest smile. :D And the choice of camel and subdued green is impeccable. Love how how you caught him mid-tea. ^^

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:05 AM) :

I'm not the slightest unhappy to see a confident well dressed man..I was getting a tiny weeny bit tired of (mostly) black clad dudes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:30 PM) :

hey lookit
he's smiling!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:00 PM) :

Looks very American

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:33 AM) :

He just looks so friendly! Warmth is emanating from this photo.... (giggle)
