I love the interesting pop of color in a pair of shoes!

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (8:13 AM) :

It would appear that the first example is one of those Doc Martens by CDG, for which I could never find retailers- I ended up picking up a pair from my thrift store!!! The second example, my favorite are the well-worn oxfords by the guy slightly to the left of center. As the NYT was pointing out, people look at 2-3 things: your watch, your belt, your shoes. You can create an expensive or trendy outfit with these 3 and some basics. I guess for women we would add a handbag? Again, buy a classic! Great pictures!!! Jorge from WPB

Blogger David said ... (8:16 AM) :

Brave but misguided.

Blogger Rianna said ... (8:21 AM) :

Those blue shoes are divine!

Ah, I totally adore the Docs with the floral pattern! It is just so hard to find anything like this here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:27 AM) :

YAY!!! 8-) YSL and Doc Martens - I've never came across such a mix!
So much fun!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:29 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:30 AM) :

Does anyone know where this fabulous coats from?

Blogger Dominica said ... (8:37 AM) :

We all had those Dr Martens when we were teens...OMG, they still look fab !
But nowadays, I would prefer to (try) walk in those turkish silky blue ones...
Very SACT-like...

Blogger stephanie-sarah said ... (8:40 AM) :

:O love the floral docs! so quirky <3

Blogger The Spicers said ... (8:45 AM) :

The shape of this coat is magnificent! Also love the idea of a sleeveless coat. Not to mention the shoes...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:47 AM) :

That coat is unbelievable!!! I love the electric blue pumps too. WOW. So who designed the coat??

Blogger James Jean said ... (8:53 AM) :

Love the detailing in the first pic and those blue, what look like platform heels are awesome as well

Blogger NVA said ... (8:54 AM) :

fresh like uuhhh....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 AM) :

this is prada from 07, if i'm not mistaken.

Blogger Mikelle Street said ... (9:06 AM) :

The first picture makes me wonder if that's a male or a female. I mean, looking at the shoes, makes me think girl because of the designs and prints but the actual structure of the boots makes me think man. Then the purse, well it's bulky, short handles, that's a man bag, and then I spied that long strap, and lack of pockets, it it a purse? The hand, could be either one and the watch seems to be for a man, but who knows...
Oh, and btw, I am a lover of peacoats but I hate the back of this one

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:08 AM) :

indeed! dramatic they are

Blogger Krysta Marie said ... (9:09 AM) :

oh I love the blue shoes! they brighten up an everyday outfit. The bag on the top photo I have the same one, couldn't live without it!

great photos

Blogger *Super Star Sumz* said ... (9:14 AM) :

I love both of these looks!

Particularly the young lady with the blue shoes. Not only is her coat beautiful and unique, her shoes are enviable :)

Blogger Flike said ... (9:25 AM) :

oh man those floral doc martens are so great

Blogger cami falcão said ... (9:26 AM) :

first coat is great, but that crop on the neck....

Blogger The Concrete Commentator said ... (9:49 AM) :

Wow! Nice coat and I do like the boots, but I really like the bag.

Blogger Jinsol said ... (10:16 AM) :

Those blue heels are absolutely gorgeous! I also love how the lady on the left has a blue backpack too.

Blogger Laura said ... (10:28 AM) :

The cut of that sleeve in the first photo is genius!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 AM) :

I love the look of the woman next to the one who has received all the attention: Marginal and discreet elegance. All in the details.

Thank you for inspiring me every morning!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:35 AM) :

I saw a pair of floral doc martins at a shop in NYC in the late 80s, and I didn't buy them because I just couldn't afford them (I think they were probably $100, which might have been a million for how broke I was in those day.) I will always regret those boots!!

Blogger Ruhvana and Flanelli said ... (10:49 AM) :

The last picture's coat is out of this world, I love it! and the blue shoes aren't bad either...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:50 AM) :

Those flowered shoes are just loverly. What a delightful way to herald in the spring! :)

Blogger Mele said ... (11:11 AM) :

Like it, like it, like it! Yes! Especially the shoes from both pictures.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:14 AM) :

Yes, the coats are Prada, I've got the same one but with regular sleeves and without the bow on the strap across the back. Best coat I've ever had!

Blogger norawoah said ... (11:19 AM) :

Oh! I am in love with the proportions on this coat.

Blogger joiji said ... (12:11 PM) :

the first coat is perfection. prada? of course prada. genius!

Who's the brilliant mind that thought of this coat? Who's the brilliant mind that was attracted to wearing this coat and wearing it with these stand-out shoes. Brilliant!

Oooo, my brilliant mind remembers the flowered docs from an earlier post. I bet this is the same woman with the metallic purse, gray dress and metallic-y jacket.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:42 PM) :

i like how the backpack offsets the adorable shoes!!!! and it wasn't even intentional!

Blogger BetwixtandBetween said ... (12:46 PM) :

i LOVE the doc.martens, and they look especially goodd there...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 PM) :

They are both great but I love the boyish feel of the first photo the best. It's effortless.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:33 PM) :

Very Paul Smith' ish

Blogger little homie said ... (1:45 PM) :

why cant we see their faces? haha

Blogger diane said ... (1:48 PM) :

Coats and shoes may come and go, but the coat in the second photo is a dream.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:16 PM) :

where's the bag in the first pic from? YSL?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:32 PM) :

LOve the coats - but I would look like a misguided granny if I wore those doc martens.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:35 PM) :

Love the coats, not entirely sold on the shoes though.

Blogger Fannah said ... (2:37 PM) :

Whoh, floral Docs.. which fabulous blogger doesn't have them yet? And the coats are both to have a lot of pleasant, but haunting dreams about.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (3:09 PM) :

Those blue ones are the best heels in weeks.

And...it seems, 90% of all the stylish ladies are wearing Louboutin's!

Blogger pigeon.toed said ... (3:10 PM) :

both of those coats are amazing!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:48 PM) :

Both are superb.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:14 PM) :

BLUE SHOES! Uber ferocity. Love the YSL bag also in the first pic.

Blogger myslak said ... (4:50 PM) :

We can see real fashion statement on both pictures. Strong and even a little risky look is all we need on the streets to feed this kind of blogs.

Blogger August Clothing said ... (6:13 PM) :

Both coats are great...the look with the blue shoes is superb! Love not only the color, but the proportions of everything too.

Blogger BelleAfriq said ... (8:52 PM) :

The shoes are just stunning...stunning!

Blogger Eva / Sycamore Street Press said ... (11:49 PM) :

i have those floral docs! i bought them when i was a teenager and absolutely loved them, but haven't worn them in years and years. i have been trying to summon up the courage to wear them again over the past year or so. now i think i'll finally do it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 AM) :

Love the Muse!

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:15 AM) :

Interesting...The pumps are nice.

Blogger the sophisticat said ... (4:45 AM) :

Photo 2: beautiful. The coat is really beautiful. And the shoes just top it off.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:29 AM) :

Those shoe must be giving her that posture problem.

Blogger Salóme said ... (9:31 AM) :

The first picture!
Wow!
..the photographs here seem to be getting increasingly inspiring.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:22 PM) :

The boots look like Oilily but i have never seen the Do Martens so could be wrong.

Blogger Olviya said ... (12:39 PM) :

oh, the shape of the coat is abs musthave for me!

Blogger Passport Stamps said ... (3:19 PM) :

All I can say is

F E R O S H!!

Blogger secondvurss said ... (5:51 PM) :

nice coat! the color of the shoes is unusual. is that leather? very curious.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (1:07 AM) :

Very lucky to have the owner of a cobalt blue backpack next to the wearer of the cobalt blue shoes. And a cobalt blue sweater ahead of them. But you seen to have great photo luck.

Is the blonde wear Louboutins? I like the blonde purse with the blonde hair and everything else dark.

I wonder what they are waiting for. Interesting group, even from behind.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:18 AM) :

oh oh the blue shoes are beautiful !!!!!!!

Blogger Lisett L. said ... (9:12 AM) :

(just a side note - the girl on the right in the second picture looks a little like Blake Lively)

I love, love, love the first coat, definitely something I'd wear. The second is cool, but I'm not a fan of sleeveless outerwear (probably because I live in a Nordic climate and it just doesn't make sense). But for me, the shoes and the Docs make the picture - nothing like good footwear to create a memorable outfit.

Blogger Tom Morris said ... (6:46 PM) :

The blonde reminds me of my wife. Beautiful hair, handbag, coat, Louboutins, legs! Simple and stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:23 AM) :

The Juxtaposition of the Jansport is probably the most progressive fashion piece I've seen in a while. So stupid-it's awesome..some next level fashion!!

Blogger Disneyrollergirl.net said ... (8:19 AM) :

Excellent! Love both coats - thought they were the same but now I'm not sure...

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (10:36 AM) :

Love the Docs - so very 80s.

I still wear my purple pair. Does any one know the brand of gum called "Thrills". That's the colour they are.

Blogger westendie said ... (11:35 PM) :

I like the random backpack ;)

Blogger brlfvr said ... (2:57 AM) :

Really love the whole ensemble of the first photo. Somehow I don't think it suffers from trying to hard. It's playful!

Blogger eloise in berlin said ... (5:03 AM) :

what stunning coats for starters, and yes the shoes rock! Bravo - great spotting...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:22 PM) :

I like the blonde girl's outfit better. Love her coat. Hot.

Blogger About Me said ... (3:33 PM) :

I love the Doc Martens more than the YSL bag.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:44 PM) :

oh.my.word. those blue pumps...i don't know what to say. I want them to materialize out of the photo and onto my feet.
This is another example of one of hundreds of photos you are able to capture so candidly. I love it.

The floral docs are wonderful. But looks a bit odd with the big boots, wide coat hem, large bag... and very skinny legs!

Also, the bag and the boots each look great on their own. But if I were going out in those boots I would find a more striking bag - one in a colour picked out from the boots, or something thoroughly outrageous like stripes or checks. This look doesn't do justice to those boots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:31 PM) :

In the blue-shoes photo I agree with those who love the look of the young Palomino on the right. All sexy wavy lines - from the pony's tail to the black-stocking legs.

I would like to OWN the blue shoes and grey coat, but I would like to BE the blondie.

Blogger mimi sioux said ... (11:48 AM) :

the shoes are pure brilliance !!

best I've seen in a while..

Blogger Kelly said ... (3:22 PM) :

He He... I noticed a few comments about the blonde to the right and my first thought was boring.... and typical. Body clinging coat, Louboutin's, long blonde hair... but I think it's really the gutsy coat and shoes next to her that make me think such.

Blogger kit said ... (1:36 AM) :

Oh, how I have always loved those floral Doc Martens. So nice to see them out and about! And the bow coat with the blue shoes... Perfect.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:01 PM) :

oh my gosh i love those docs!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:40 AM) :

love how the blue jansport back and the blue in the far back are in this picture to complement to lady's fab shoes.

Blogger Sarah said ... (11:04 PM) :

I had those Docs as a teen!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:18 PM) :

i just love looking at those bright blue shoes! oh and the coat is just magnificent! 10/10 for this one!

Blogger Lily Fritsch said ... (12:11 AM) :

I want the drop waist to come back!
