Comments on "On the Street....Standing Tall, Pitti Uomo"
Don't you just love the longer cut coat? And look at the spring colors in the tie and vest. Handsome.
Wonderful posture, and great photograph! I hope this young man sees your picture and has the chance to save it somewhere! I like the outfit, very classic. Even though I usually like the lapel edges of the jacket to echo the incline of the overcoat, I quite like this in contrasting colors- having a navy/black overcoat makes much more sense than a camel color one. Jorge from W Palm Beach
This man is total perfection. I love the sunflower yellow contrast with the two blues!
impeccable! this is what being a man is all about... so classic and bold, yet freshly spring. i implore you sir open up your coat!
Brilliant! handsome and elegantly dressed. Turned out with a sense of personal style. This is what I always check in here for.
This man looks so put together-very dapper!
Magnificent!
He looks so well-dressed and as Jorge from WPB notes, his excellent posture enhances his clothes. I'm loving the Italian pants narrow cut with a deep cuff. I think the only place you can learn to shine shoes as well as his is Military Academy. I could fall in love with a man who wears beautiful shoes like that...
it's all kinda sorta perfect. love it.
the fit of the coat ... so elegant ... almost artistic!?
the shoes are brilliant.
Wonderful, good proportions, balance of colour and clean lines. A very elegant gentleman indeed.
Che bello!!
Wonderful shoes.
italian classic chic.He is looking as a Duke.
Wow. Great example of classic menswear. I love the following:
- Antiquing on toe area of shoes
- Contrasting (horn?) buttons on DB coat
- Spot of linen from under coat sleeve
- Roll of lapel on (linen?) vest
- Impeccable fit
Details worth adopting.

Oooh, this is divine. YUM!! The posture, the color, the elegance. Very very nice.
Just a thought - would not black shoes have been an even better choice?
great pose from the guy ! real chique
I just saw Gosford Park again and there's something about this that brings that movie to mind --a kind of retro, well-heeled elegance.
Other comments have touched on all the details here, I can only agree and say that the looks perfect in every way. Wonderfully done.
Perfect everything- cut, styling, colouring. Very Italian!
What's not to love?
This shot and this man are so wonderful I can smell it. I can smell the trees behind him and the wet asphalt and the damp in the air, and 5 steps closer to this man and I can smell a bar of (really, really wonderful) soap and espresso.
Just how do you manage it, Scott? It only looks like a photo on my computer monitor, but it is really time travel... can't get enough!
I am going to listen to Italian opera the rest of the day.
... and these are shoes worth including...
Let me just wipe the drool from my chin...what a gorgeous guy, from head to toe.
black shoes would have ruined it, brown was the right choice.
first class
It is indeed wonderfully done, he has an amazing coat and his shoes are perfect. He looks like (style)royalty for some reason.
I love it when a man can wear a splash of yellow. It gives his look a dimension and depth that the the light blue on its own could not have achieved. The cut of the coat, as well, works well his figure. Stunning, really.
I second Dan- very well done but not overdone
LOVE!
I like this coat's length. I didn't realize it was longer until someone pointed that out, so he is wearing it well. Men in L.A. should dress like this; its attractive and confident. He definitely doesn't sit at a computer all day - look at that posture!
yay, burgundy shoes!
Yup, indeed simply flawless outfit. Even the men in the backgound seem quite dandy as well, but our dbreasted coat wearer here is unmatched. Men in shots like these are such inspiration to me..yet again, kudos sart! Another great one
Very good looking man.
I like the coat, but it would be too cold for the winter!
he is handsome, love his look
"woot" for DB's!!!
A little bit of colour in a cloudy day!
Nothing actually matches, and yet it doesn't matter.
Gorgeous guy.
A peek of summer coming up (chest and neck) from winter. Charming.
I love the long coay. It's so rare to see a man pull this sort of thing off without looking sketchy or sloppy. He seems very confident but not conceited.
And! His shoes have such a classy gloss.
Fabulous! Absolutely fabulous. I especially like the touch of yellow (I think) from the vest.
His pants are PERFECT! The length, the narrowness, the cuffs.
Very proper, but he looks friendly - I guess that's where the hint of yellow comes in.
He looks amazing. So pulled together, well groomed, and I love all the little details on this outfit: the peek of yellow the blue patterned tie, those antiqued shoes.
I just picked up a slim Chesterfield coat that fits like this one...heavenly to wear as well as to look at. This guy looks good, and fit.
Very well!! I know this man. I met him in a Sartoria in Verona. I am happy to notice that his style is appreciate from this blog, this notice that my smell is still good… “Tommaso have a good sense of naso”! Ha!Ha!
He could look slightly pretentious in such a grand coat, but the cheerful flashes of colour really put his own edge into this.
Lovely colour combinations, the whole outfit is great.

Yummy!!
What an incredibly stylish gentleman, but doesn't look like he's tried too hard, with a touch of warmth/humour (with the touch of yellow), so we know he doesn't take himself too seriously (but serious enough to polish his shoes so beautifully).
O.K., we get it. Europe is the home of all people chic and stylish and fashionable, blah, blah, blah. Now please come back to New York!
Dear Anonymous (above): I must admit, though I am all for Greek Lovers, they only make them stylish in Italy. xoxoxo
I am head over heels with this photo. He is amazing; every detail has been considered.
The shoe color is perfect and better than black. I'm a woman and I have recently added two booties to my shoe collection in this color: patent Reiss stiletto ankle booties and antiqued platform Max Studio oxfords. The stilettos even look great with black tights. That tiny bit of color makes a huge difference.
This man *really* knows how to use color to accent classic neutrals.
This is the fashion of kings people
Prince Charming.
WOW! He looks so sharp. Even with the checkered tie and yellow waistcoat, he still looks sharp! :D
Absolutely fabulous!
So very handsome! His color combinations are wonderful.
Just enough yellow!
what an unexpected surprise in the tie and the little bit of the blazer that's popping out. --- LOVE IT!
Wonderful! I love it when people remember a bit of yellow with blue!
But ...
The buttons want their close-up Mr. DeMille!
The quality of his shoes and the way he took care of them (waterpolish?) is wonderful!
very sharp!
Needs black shoes. Other than that, perfect.
If the personality matches the look, this is the man I was born to marry.
He reeks of power and benevolence...
I use to wear a similar double-breasted top coat, in gray. It is an elegant look. However, in cold winter weather, the fact that the top "functional" button is only at stomach level is a problem. I wore mine with two scarves for adequate weather protection. Today I wear a more practical single-breasted top coat.
The peek of yellow has me dying to know what's underneath!
