That is the most adorable outfit I have ever seen! I do believe that I love everything about it, the glasses are fabulous, love the leather jacket, the inner jacket the scarf the trousers even the brown leather belt that is popping out in front of his hand, and of course the shoulder bag hidden in the background! Plus the fact that he is holding a camera, It tells us a bit about who he is and what he likes to do. Gorgeous hair too!
I do believe I could compliment this outfit for hours and hours, but I will stop now because the outfit can speak for it selves!!
The layers separately are ordinary, together perfect harmony. Glasses look like Benjamin Eyewear.

The color palette of this photograph is completely inspiring. I love how the earthen tones of his scarf and blue of his cardigan mimic the stone of the wall behind him. Even the lighter brown of his belt and collar are repeated there. This would be a painter's dream!
so much going on, but it all works. I love the jacket. it's the best item of clothing he has on. also, the neutral tones are nice and the checkered shirt breaks things up a bit. I like how the belt doesn't match the jacket otherwise it would be too matchy matchy.the glasses put on the finishing touch for me. makes me wanna know what kind of shoes he's wearing. I'm guessing sneakers. Am I right? great shot scott :-)
Max @ 10.28, you're kidding me right? You must be one to match everything b/c this is an awesome look here. In the running for my "Sartorialist look of the month"....
proud of this new york boy!! he looks just as chic as any parisian or milanese... way to represent the best city on earth!

His glasses, his hair, and his frame work for him. It's a preppy-Weezer east coast look. I really like it.

I really like the mix of colors and textures, plus I'm loving the double-breasted cardigan; I've been looking for a female double breasted cardigan dress for ages. Not to mention the silhouette-trim layers on top and just the right slouch in the pants. Very nice.
he has a kind of cool and glammed up harry potter look!

Almost but no, he has a great sense of colour but he is trying way too hard to look causal. Instead too much is going on and it makes him just look unkept but not causal at all.perhaps in time when he stops caring so much about how he looks, he will get a truly comfortable style.
This guy has it all together. I applaud the layering and style. His film camera goes great with his fashion statement!

I love that leather jacket!! The fact that it is slightly too small makes it even better. When buying a leather jacket always go one or two sizes down...

Let us just muse for a minute: "Young Avedon" thought deeply of the irony that would revisit his life time and time again as he pondered being the subject of a this photograph. The captive photographer--he seemed self-conscious but managed to stand still to be captured this one of many times. This man is not perfect and beautiful but then he is all at the same time.
I am a pro photog and I have to ask, in NYC is FILM the new black, cuz he's holding a film camera. Probably paid $150 for it.
m.edwin said ... (11:26 PM) :
he does look a little affected, but this guy's badass. He looks like he strolled through Indiana Jones and The English Patient on his way to a cameo in a Julian Schnabel flick. and this picture's nice. i don't know if it's simply the lighting or a filter, but these colors look really saturated.
this is beyond just fashion. what a fabulous photos that just captures everything-fashion, attitude, lifestyle, color, texture.... this is just fan-ta-bulous. very inspiring.
Best outfit by far on this page. Everything is coordinated so well with a great attention to detail. THe khaki colors and the brown leather; even the usage of the camera in the photograph screams world traveler/safari. Which is definitely hot this spring. LOVE IT. XOXO www.ahauteaparty.blogspot.com

Wow Calvin, looks like I have some serious competition!! So happy to hear how well you are doing all the time! I am in agreement with about 98% of the comments :)

If anyone is interested, the cardigan is from H&M (and has a shawl collar). I picked mine up in Salzburg on a blustery autumn day. But, have seen it in London and elsewhere... I think it was less than 20 Euros!

i envy the scarf,
and adore the nonchalant buttoned sweater with the leather.
this photographer should be photographed more often.
ahh...
I love this
nerdy look seems to take over the whole world! I guess after D&G spring 2009 collection.
(correct me if I were wrong)
I have been looking for that black-full-framed glasses for weeks!
still couldn't find the right one. sigh.
pretty blue popping out from neutrals. this looks very similar to many ensambles in the marc by marc show (and some in the MJ show.) I really like the look of a neutral shell exposing a pop of color.

áwww he is sooo cute
love the double breasted cardigan and the way his scarf is wrapped.
makes his hips look incredibly small.
Lovely yet cool!
I just bought a leather jacket like this one a few weeks ago and this guy really inspires me what to wear with it.
this is lovely
100% style
love! love! love! fabulous.....
love the silky scarf...intelligence at its best... (love the camera too)
Awesome layering. That is how its done. The scarf is just the cherry on top. Perfect artsy look. Good job Scott!
Adorable =)
Smart look. I've never really liked the double breasted cardigan but I must say it looks terrific with the bomber and plaid shirt underneath.
I also appreciate that his pants are not cutting off all blood circulation in his legs. While I do like the look of slim fit pants, and wear them often myself, it's refreshing and impressive to see someone making regular, looser fitting kahkis look as cool as this cat does.
I love the sweater but believe the whole look would appear less affected without the scarf.
The shirt billowing out at the bottom is utter genius
This is beautiful. The colors just send me and he only used one pattern but the color is perfect. I wonder though, can he actually zip that jacket? It's always a question for me because I like the open jacket look but must it be big enough to shut? Sometimes smaller is better suited to the open mode of wearing.
This may be the best photo you've ever published on this site. The colors, detail and composition are stunning. The pose is great and the camera is a nice touch.
owww I like him! Very nice style!
if they all layered this way, the world would be a better place (giggles).

i love it when the subjects look flattered to be photographed.
Love this look! Any idea where the clothes are from??
I like this! Great color combo! The cardigan is very lovely and this little bit of plaid peeking out at the bottom and the sleeves makes the outfit so much more special! I just noticed, he's holding a camera in his hands! Sweet!
Such a great outfit. He is adorable.

I love this. Pure style. Great scarf, fantastic sweater.
I love this look.
It doesn't look contrived or like he's tried too hard which I think is the whole point of fashion.
If that camera is a $1,000.00 prop, he'd better wrap it around his neck not to drop it. But that would mess up his scarf. The jacket is too tight. How does he reach up with it and all those layers? Nice glasses.
if i were a boy this is what i would want to look like.
hell, i'll probably wear something similar anyway, because i love this entire look so much.
perfection!
J'adore ça~! Very clever choice of colors. I also like the way he assembled items in different textures into a look that is so congruent and retro chic.
Looks good...although the colour scheme is a little miss-match...!
he reminds me of a Jerome Robbins dancer from the 1960's....
lovely.
I absolutely love this look. All the layers, all the textures. Amazing.
Christ, I want that cardigan. This look is great. I'm not particularly fond of the collar on the jacket, for myself, but I'm okay with it, here. Mostly, I just covet the double-breasted blue cardi.
One word: magnificent! And hot! I love the way he has knotted his scarf, his leather jacket, his horn glasses, the cardigan, his hair, his casual attitude...This is so perfectly well-matched that I really can't avoid falling in love with him. One of Scott's prettiest shots I've ever seen!
i like that the khakis look used and abused. as if he lives in them. while the rest of the look looks new and frsesh
I personally love the decision to go with the red leather belt. Contrasting the blues, but alongside the dark jacket, it gives the eyes a much desired full range of color. Magnifique!
i like his glasses ... and the layering he made ....
Love the outfit!
the cardigan is definitely from h&m! I love it, and him.
Who makes that Jacket? Anyone...anyone...

Cool glasses ! I love guys who look like that, like they just woke up and they don't give a shit, with still the fashion attitude ! x
I am in love with this young photographer! He has combined this grey cardigan and leather jacket, glasses and silk scarf ))Cant stop to look
I love a double breasted sweater, and I NEED that jacket.
Any hints?
Are those cuffs suede!?!
perfect. the collar, the silky scarf, glasses.
LOVE this look. Is he hiding the spidey suit under there? Totally inspiring :)
x.
he was holding a camera too...was he taking picture of you too?
Ah, now that's style and personality! A fellow photographer, perhaps, too, which makes him all too creative and sharp. :-)
amazing guy..
i loveeee it. the color palette is AMAZING. The blues, the brownsss... ahhh!!!

The glasses remind me of Woody Allen
Man, that's awesome. PERFECT!!!
Anyone know where he picked up the jacket?
To mirror the comments above, this looks like it's been put together with real intelligence.
He's essentially transformed a relatively simple outfit of plaid shirt, chinos and jacket with the flash of colour on the cardigan and by going with a jacket that's cut to keep the silhouette as tight as possible amidst all the layers.

the db cardigan is from H&M, i got one :)
this is one of my all-time favorite sartorialist photos, not only b/c of the clothes but b/c it seems to capture something really intimate and authentic about this person. it's nice to see a photo that emphasizes the fact that *humans* wear these clothes!

I do hope that's not REAL leather!
I, for one, am absolutely sick of that H&M double breasted cardi.
This is perfect. A good example of how you can be totally casual and effortless but very stylish.
so much going on, but it all works.
Am I right?
great shot scott :-)
maybe it's b/c i'm from ny, but this looks is so played...cardigan, last button open, over polo/dress shirt, cashed up with khakis jeans...
walk down avenue a sunday brunch..the geek chic glasses set, once cool, now commoditized, and achingly apparent.
Max @ 10.28, you're kidding me right? You must be one to match everything b/c this is an awesome look here. In the running for my "Sartorialist look of the month"....
perfect! that leather jacket looks so supple and amazing.
This is perfect. Really.
The poor (?) single button makes the outfit look so effortless ! :)
Really like it.
Your website (don't dare to say """blog""") is a masterpiece of modern times.

I GO TO SCHOOL WITH HIM!!! OMG!
wow. he's such a character. i love how his personality is shown in his style. ♥
WOW love it !
proud of this new york boy!! he looks just as chic as any parisian or milanese... way to represent the best city on earth!
hi,
i love your blog and take a look at it every day. But i have a question. Can you show more of the male shoe? It looks like you show more womens shoes than male shoes.
Keep up the good work.
i think this photo is gorgeous.
I should have invested in scarves.
I Love his Style..Different and Unique!!! He is also an awsome guy, he is my cousins Son.
Great shot too.
He also is an Excellent photographer, should ask to see some of his work Scott.
Love you calvin
Deb
AH! He's DOPE!
the colours
the glasses
the scarf
the cardigan
the jacket
perfect harmony
this man is so adorable, i'd like to carry him around in my pocket.
This is my roommate and best friend. He looks fabulous... always does.
His glasses are awesome!!! 8-)
His glasses, his hair, and his frame work for him. It's a preppy-Weezer east coast look. I really like it.
handsome
WOW this one is getting saved for inspiration.. I love that double breasted... jacket? whatever it is it is great.
I really like the mix of colors and textures, plus I'm loving the double-breasted cardigan; I've been looking for a female double breasted cardigan dress for ages. Not to mention the silhouette-trim layers on top and just the right slouch in the pants. Very nice.
*Gasp*
Fantastic.... just superb..<3
SVAAA
I was wearing that db sweater to the gym this morning :D
Marry me?
first thought that popped into my head: this boy needs a lightning bolt on his forehead.
Love the outfit! Especially the layers. Each of them is perfect!
he has a kind of cool and glammed up harry potter look!
He looks perfect! And I'm so glad he's not wearing skinny jeans in this outfit (as per "geek chic") because I think that would just be an overload of trends. Love the way he's holding the camera!
Nice! I can never do my scarf like that. Anyone here can teach me or give tips?
ummmm, very sexy.......send him my way....
P.S. Just look at how that subtle blueish light reflected on the wall echoes that blue in his sweater & shirt...!!
Ahhhh, now i finally get it (!):
You don't have to close your jacket if you wear so much cloths, layered on top of each clothing piece. Even if it's really COLD.
Some new inspiration.
Does this guy have a blog too? I notice a camera in his hands.
And there's something about the color of this picture. Lovely.
Love it!!!!
Oh geeeezzzzz...
Look so smart huh?!=D
Love it..
Nice post friend..
very nice.
Layering is an art, and this is a masterpiece !
i love this shot!
great style!
Adorable. He should be my boyfriend. We could totally rock the colors and layers together. yeah. :) *blushes*
very nice and simple style. good mix of colors and lovely way to wear his scarf. like the trousers and the leather jacket. very good !
its amazing outfit, me ENCANTAA, ES DEMASIADOOO ESTILOSO ESE MANN
The layers are fabulous
that is a great way to wear a pea coat/blazer, all wrapped up in clean layers and textures, He wears it like a button up shirt.
and he's got a camera!
me parece un loook muy original y demasiadoo cool, its amazing
Here we go again with the gorgeous, splendid color combos I'm seeing here lately...I look forward to more!
I love the colour combination: the blue with the earth-colors.
The glasses and his hair are absolutely perfect for this outfit...love it.
When I look at him it seems to me that every layer is a other surprise...lol!
Thank you Sart.
He is really adorable. Great hair. Great photo.
Oh god!!
This is so amazing..his outfit was so good..
That was perfect outfit i guess...=D
He look so smart,,
I want this look.
Layers, colours, textures: a pure bliss.
Love the tones of the photo too, great job!
very well done. the outfit, the picture. and the colours, omg, the colours.
Gorgeous.
lovelyyyyyyyyyy
The Layers are Fabulous
love the scarf! simple and cool! what s the brand?
Oh, god. This is wonderful.
Almost but no, he has a great sense of colour but he is trying way too hard to look causal. Instead too much is going on and it makes him just look unkept but not causal at all.perhaps in time when he stops caring so much about how he looks, he will get a truly comfortable style.
Beautiful boy. Beautiful clothes. Single?
This guy has it all together. I applaud the layering and style. His film camera goes great with his fashion statement!
I love that leather jacket!! The fact that it is slightly too small makes it even better. When buying a leather jacket always go one or two sizes down...
Thanks Sart!
Let us just muse for a minute: "Young Avedon" thought deeply of the irony that would revisit his life time and time again as he pondered being the subject of a this photograph. The captive photographer--he seemed self-conscious but managed to stand still to be captured this one of many times. This man is not perfect and beautiful but then he is all at the same time.
ahh this is my friend!
you look so damn cute boy
i cant wait to hit up your closet haha
can i know his name? ;p
Mmmmmmmmmmm
nice!
What is the jacket? Anybody?
Love the cardigan, too.
Layers done right.
I hope you guys had a great discussion on photography and fashion. :)
BTW, I'm loving these double-breasted cardigans. Where can I get one? ^^
love it. i want his glasses, and his scarf--the color, the way it's tied--is just perfect.

Someone find me this man's contact information ...
This is such a wonderfully put together casual look. I love the layers, textures.
(And the camera doesn't ever hurt!)
Even though he is a great model, he is even a better photographer.
His Shirt is from Urban Outfitters, Lark & Wolff by Stevan Alan
American Apparel has one but the fabrics not nearly as nice as this.
He's perfection. The layering, glasses, vest. Love it.
IF you think he is a good model, he is an even better photographer.
soooo hot guy!
taken.
in the whole it looks really good but still...to many guys running around with "nerdy" glasses and exact same outfits like this...new uniform?
the layering here is perfection! bellisimo!
i love everything about this. the tiny hint of plaid works so well to bring it all together. its so simple, yet definitely stands out.
I am a pro photog and I have to ask, in NYC is FILM the new black, cuz he's holding a film camera. Probably paid $150 for it.
he does look a little affected, but this guy's badass. He looks like he strolled through Indiana Jones and The English Patient on his way to a cameo in a Julian Schnabel flick. and this picture's nice. i don't know if it's simply the lighting or a filter, but these colors look really saturated.
We love you, Calvin!
this is beyond just fashion. what a fabulous photos that just captures everything-fashion, attitude, lifestyle, color, texture.... this is just fan-ta-bulous. very inspiring.
loving the layers
Perfect. I love this. I'm sending it to my boyfriend.
SO perfect
Believe it or not, his double breasted cardigan is from 'H & M'. I know, because I own the exact same one! ahah mix if feelings to see it on here.
ahhhhh .......
Marry me ......
abasoulotly Gorgeous .........
love it ....
i have been shamelessly oggling this photo for days. is it superficial to fall in love on the merit of one outfit?
what a cutie!
Best outfit by far on this page. Everything is coordinated so well with a great attention to detail. THe khaki colors and the brown leather; even the usage of the camera in the photograph screams world traveler/safari. Which is definitely hot this spring. LOVE IT. XOXO
www.ahauteaparty.blogspot.com
LOVE this. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT
the ensemble is great. the blue and plaid offset the earthiness. it brightens and vamps up the outfit. look out archaeologists of the old! - this is the new uniform for the 21st century =D.
Scott, any idea where the jacket is from? thanx.
-r
I love his style, especially his leather jacket.
I'm in love.
Scott any idea what`s his number?
this outfit strikes a cord because it seems both casual and refined at the same time.
somehow he strikes of rare balance.
i think the magic in most stylish outfits are like this.
What I love about this look (other than the inspired colour contrasts) is the perfect layering. I only wish I could make my layers look so effortless and crisp!
he has got the whole package right! what a cool guy! Well done, and keep it cool :)
no better man to rep SVA on this site
Calvin knows how to dress himself :)
love the colour palette on this photo but i feel like i'm looking into a mirror. maybe i'm the only one that thinks that all us men with short dark hair and glasses look the same?
has he been photographed in this blog before?
Wow Calvin, looks like I have some serious competition!! So happy to hear how well you are doing all the time! I am in agreement with about 98% of the comments :)
chic, love the combination, the super vintage sunglasses, a scarf for some more cool.
beautiful, all
chic, love the combination, the super vintage sunglasses, a scarf for some more cool.
beautiful, all
This boy is wonderful. I want him to be mine. Mostly for the ability to raid his closet. But also because I am so drawn to that stare of his. And he is a photographer.
from time to time, i look at this picture. i want his jacket.
I am obsessed with this look. Everything is right, from the glasses to the leather jacket. I especially love the cardigan and have been looking for one like it for quite sometime and finally found one :]
http://store.americanapparel.net/rsa2405.html
This is the kind of guy I would have a crush on in high school.
If anyone is interested, the cardigan is from H&M (and has a shawl collar). I picked mine up in Salzburg on a blustery autumn day. But, have seen it in London and elsewhere... I think it was less than 20 Euros!
geek chic:D lovely! cute boy too
Love the geeky look. And the layering is excellent.
<3
Love his style!
I WANT YOUR JACKET
I love the khakis and the belt and the plaid shirt, and let's face the fact that I love pretty much anything layered. And am I glad I have glasses that look almost exactly the same.
