Comments on "On the Street......In the Mix, NYC"
Ooh I love this! It's indeed a very versatile look and that's always good for me as inspiration :)
great look! Looks fashionable but also sooo comfy :)
Wow! She's so perfect!
I love the shirt and the shoes ! !
she's gorgeous !
xoxo
It is a lot nicer than what we wear in America isn't it?
No jeans or sloppy t-shirts!
Pure love! This is something I would totally wear...I like her style a lot!
Its good to see you back in NYC. I love the hint of color and the way she mixes multiple colors very well.
I am so happy you are back in NYC. I love the photos from Milano and Roma and Sweden, but there is something about that City vibe. Glad to have you back.
Hell yea i'm inspired. I love mixing patterns and color so this is right up my alley. Another great find Sart!
awesome look! i love her shoes
x
too cerebral. i want to see the idea, not the thought process.
each piece on it's own is brilliant, save the hat. once assembled though, it gets too busy. the red splash is haute, but it's placement looks entirely contrived.
Miss Frugally, this photo was taken in NYC!
amazing :)
Beautiful shot! love the lighting...and she looks fantastic! I love all the layers, but it is not bulky...
The hat! Is there another that would pull this outfit off with such a funny twist, and still keep it together?
is this a fedora or trilby hat? she looks fantastic!
um love this. she totally nailed it.
ooooh! me encanta, podría ser yo pensando en mi imagen (encima que no traduzco lo lio más jajaja)
I agree, this is wonderful.
I absolutely love the shoes.
So beautiful! Everything just makes perfect sense, which is how great style should be defined. Her intelligent smile tops it off beautifully. You know she knows.
Definitely a special look love the hat really cool!
everything is great- leather with a fur collar is something i have been chasing for awhile. i think that hat is what really completes the look though!
This look totally inspires a whole wardrobe of outfits..thank you
Scott,
It is an inspirational look. I love how she also uses the elements of good taste and style.
Best - Charles
ah she's adorable
absolutely fantastic...something to aspire to. oh, how i miss good american fashion.
I love this look too!!!
It´s beautiful...!!
Really beautiful... Impish smile. =) So cute!
I love the colors, patterns, and proportions, but the fur is raggedy, and skirt and blouse both could use an iron.
I used to dress like this in college in London in the 90s so this photo makes me smile. Her hat is great and i love the splash of red - that and her happy face make the whole outfit.
You have such an eye for details - the second shot is art!
I like it too.
Something about this look is a little too "swiss alps nanny", maybe it's the hat. Love the shoes. Wish I could see the guy behind her better.
color and texture are great. love the hat...
Love her style! I like the different textures and patterns! Nice hat too!
So interesting. That pop of red makes this look a bit whimsical. Like she didn't over-think it, it's just natural.
Miss Frugally: This person IS in America! Hooray!
She's so cute!
Love the shoes!
genious
it's just amazing! The skirt ♥
don't like the hat with this outfit which is girlish but the hat is matronly looking
Really cool style, love it!
this is wonderful! one of my favorite shots definitely.
this is fantastic
Mix and match that seems like the pieces are effortlessly put together. Thank you for showing photos of people who dress up well and therefore, providing us the inspiration. I'm so impress by your keen eye for details.
Love this look too !
It shows she has personality and some 'dare' ...
LOVE LOVE LOVE the herringbone skirt ...
Coming Fall '09: Swiss Alps chic...
I see this girl everywhere! And Every time I see her shes stunning! Im so glad you found her!
Charmante
the little bit of red peeking out makes me smile =)
oh my sweet jesus. she is perfection.
Nothing in your blogs from London - that figures!
very much "alice in wonderland"
Sart. you have such a great eye and a way with light - its really stunning. I agree the mix is fantastic.
I'm inspired!! Love the shoes and the skirt especially..
a modern day Mary Poppins
most beautiful baby bird EVER
This look can inspire everyone! Perfect mix!
Love it! Great to see people having fun with fashion, creating a character to be for the day – and what is wrong with "swiss alps nanny"? Agree with (almost) everyone: it's all about the hat.
pretty. must be indoors affair it's freezing outside.
euh i noticed only comments in english you allow.
wonderwonderwonderful
This is so gorgeous! The textures and play on patterns are perfection.
this outfit = better than sex.
the blog is amazing!
This is one of my favourite posts of yours recently.
I really like mixed prints, patterns and textures when done well. And this is the epitome of done well.
http://thestitched.blogspot.com/
Incredible.
I love it! The mix of the colours and the prints and the textures is fabulous.
Wow! This is one of my favorite looks ever, so inspiring!
These pics look wonderful!!
And this woman looks wonderful as well. Where in NYC is this taken?
For me, it's the skirt not the hat. But really it's the whole thing not one piece. She has a smile like the Cheshire Cat - she KNOWS whatever she knows....I am inspired.
Her style is a perfect mix of masculine and feminine. A bit quirky. Comfortable without being too casual. And not a bit concerned with what's "in fashion", I especially love that.
And she's so pretty!
She's fab. Not many people can pull this look off. She does.
I love the way that the red just peeks out enough to give the outfit a pop.
I love the mix of patterns and texture! That hint of red is a nice shot of color. It's all very nonchalant and has that thrown together at the last minute kind of attitude.
beautiful! I usually like most of what I see on this site, but this is a step above...I not sure what it is about it though....
great shot...the layers make the outfit amazing...she looks inspiring indeed...
If I dressed like this I would look sad and silly--it's not for everyone-- but on her this look is terrific. Color and texture is excellent--and I love the peek of red sweater. Beautiful tights and wonderful boots.
She's has taken the world's most beautiful colors - and combined them all in a stunning way.
Wonderful! One of the best looks I've seen.
so lovely. the shoes are magical
this is lovely, the shoes are magical.
this, is perfect.
omg!! wonderful... shes just amazing!!
i love the combination! =D
OMG I saw this girl at Whole Foods later that day!! I thought the same thing, great mix. Love the shoes!!
Ahh I love the mixtures of color and texture. I really like when a look can be pulled together through a diverse mix!
Very well put together! She looks awesome and Cute!
I love her shoes! (Chloé, if I'm not wrong...? ) I also love the guy looking at her behind.
That's cool!
The textures, patterns and colors all result in total eye candy. She looks fabulous..why can't Californian girls dress this way?!
i love the tweed and polka dots. the hint of red is awesome too.
God, this women is a style visionary. I would have thought to mix up all these patterns. Genius.

This is just fun and wonderful.
You are so right, she looks really trendy yet comfy. Love how she combines differnt patterns and colours...the effect is fantastic. Great shot!
X
I wish I had imagination and sense of fashion to make things work like this and pull it of the way she does!
I love that you said a man could be inspired by this look. It made me feel better about having felt inspired by this look.
The skirt is really, really great. I love her shoes too. I love masculine inspired looks on very feminine forms.
i am in love! who is she!
She's adorable.
I always admired those kind of people who can mix all the patterns and look good.
I am just crazy for this outfit. I keep coming back to it!!
I am coming back to your blog after ages. Great shot and she looks stunning with the right mix of course
She takes a good picture, sweet, demure pose. Love the close up where you can see all the textures, prints and details. To elimate some of the bulk in the waist area it would've been better if she were wearing pants with a wider waistband. Also this could be improved if the bag were more structured and the fur was less unkempt. Btw old lady shoes just aren't attractive.
I love this, its so pretty. Easy to pull off and low-key and adorable!
This is the kind of girl I could get wasted on Boone's Farm with...
This girl is a cutey to boot! I like your perspective and use of the available lighting--it does not overpower, the light is an accessory that accentuates her look. She seems dark, smoky and sexy (sly smile!)while the shock of red sweater adds a jolt. Bomb genius, Sart!!
did she make that hat?
My thought: Who needs a relationship when your clothes are so satisfying?
beautiful, I love it when a keen sense of personal style overcomes the usual fashionista looks.
the red point make her more stylish.
OH GOD THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL
i love the colours...such a great mixture...amazing
adorable
Very thrift shop look.
if only thrift shops carried chloe shoes and bags by jane mayle!
I can't get over this outfit.
I have purposely gone to look at it every day since it has been posted - it has reminded me to add just a little pop of color to seemingly drab outfits, and inspired me to play with textures and patterns
Thanks for the inspiration!
I actually love the lighting of this photo
...she looks amazing, as usual... this super fab lady is my friend, & trust me, she looks this good... like... every day...
hmm... I think you've taken a picture of her before! in a red coat and long skirt
