Comments on "On the Street.....Anastasia, NYC"
That scarf is so beautiful :) I love that her clothing so structured and fitted, yet her hair is long and flying free.
Love the masculine tailoring but feminine touches that balances so beautifully! She looks gorgeous! May I ask who she is? (please excuse my ignorance :))
xx
The heels and toe cleavage!
I absolutely love a woman in a men's suit, and this one actually fits her well.
so chic
love how the guy and girl are dressed in similar colors
love how they're almost twins
Wow...that's actually a full-on men's double-breasted suit. Bravo.
wow. she rocks that suit! stylish, beautiful, AND professional at the same time!
Wow, a power suit. I guess that shoulder pads really are back. But, shouldn't it be tailored a little more in the waist? Especially if she's going for the skinny, cropped leg a la Tom Ford.
I like that the color of her scarf perfectly matches the color of the suit.
Please, Dear God, don't let the return of leggings and shuolder pads herald the return of big hair!
Love the color and cut of this suit. The shoes complement perfectly this business attire.
I adore the ladies' double-breasted jacket! This is how I dress for work most mornings. It's been a long time since we've seen this silhouette on the streets--mostly short, tight, stretchy single-breasted jackets (and I have those too.) I realize that this jacket style doesn't flatter large chests, short waists or plus sizes, but there's no reason for tall, slim or well-proportioned figures to deny themselves this option.
Of course, I meant Thom Browne, not Tom Ford.
Somewhere...in the back of a closet...in the bowels of my house...hangs a suit in that cut...in that color. I believe the designer was Paul Smith.
I thought it was a fluke when I discovered that an aging jacket by Ann Demuelemeester, also a resident of the aforementioned closet, bore an uncanny resemblance to a jacket in Marc Jacobs' Spring line. Now I'm beginning to think that my clothes, after years of hanging around--bored and listless--have come to realize that they're beautifully tailored from exquisite fabrics and are renting themselves out as muses. Good for them. I can't wait to see the Gaultiers and the Muglers, and. . .
I love the subtle gradations of the suiting fabric and how the scarf complements it tonally - but I have to say, I have never liked a double breasted jacket on a woman, and this one is no exception.
Scott, When are you coming out with a style book? Honestly, every shot is great.
Her suit is very nice as far as how it's constructed (her shoulders are rather square though). I like the outfit as a whole, but her shoes seem a bit high and open for the season, its not quite spring yet. She must be cold.
The shoulders make me DIE!!!!!!!! I luv it!

she looks like the 21st century jackie o'
WOW such a beautiful photograph. I love the double breasted jacket and the grayscale of this ensemble.
She looks wonderful

Makes me wish i had never plucked my eyebrow...
i think i love her
I do not care what the trend-setters and fashion editors are saying, shoulder pads are plain wrong
I love this photo. It just diffuses a sense of power and confidence.
Do you think she's wearing pantyhose/knee-highs with those heels?
Great find. Keep them coming!
wait! haven't we seen her before?
Love that masculine/feminine style, the grays, the print of the scarf and the way it's tied, the beautiful cut of the shoe, the strong shoulder...
i completely agree with the toe cleavage thing. it balances the masculinity of the suit, the structured tailoring. i absolutely love it; it's a pairing i might not have though of, but will definitely emulate.
nice attempt but the DB cut is just a little too masculine
Beautiful! Just so simple and elegant (and comfy!).
So classy...

She's gorgeous. And her style in this photo makes her seem incredibly professional and sexy.
When a suit is worn right it should have that effect.
btw, I love the photo. the reflection off the stone in the background gives the illusion of more depth and there's a nice contrast of colors between this background and what they're wearing...
this is anastasia barbieri, fashion editor for vogue paris and vogue hommes internationales.
i'm not crazy about the strong shoulders. i know it's supposed to be back in fashion but i thought it looked silly when i was a kid in the 80's and it still does this time around. but somehow the strong shoulders in the 40's (i think) conveyed elegance and power...
the scarf is great, as is the 'unstyled' hair in contrast to the sharp tailoring of the suit.
suits like that are amazing and stand out well, she looks really fresh!
WHERE did she get that suit... Gorgeous woman lovely look!
Confident and elegant. A vibrant scarf adds to the only time I've ever seen a woman pull off a double-breasted suit, and does she do it well!
Great shot, Scott.
she shows you can be sexy without showing skin or a too tight outfit.
Who is that gentleman/ i've seen him before.
DB jacket on a woman!!! ggrrrr!
I love the total look of Anastasia, all except the shoes. I think a high heeled bootie or chunkier shoe would have been much more stylish. This is a real man's suit (as opposed to a woman's version) as it's buttoning from left to right, and she does it justice as she's a stunning woman and would look great in a black plastic dustbin liner....!
This man is absolutely gorgeous!
I didn't even notice that woman because of that man!
So chic and beautiful and oh so very sexy this man is!
Anyone know anything about this man?
She looks STUNNING! That's how I want to dress when I grow up. ;-)
I'd like this better if she'd had the jacket tailored to suggest a waist. As is, it looks a bit overwhelming on her.
that's pretty classic
she looks like katie holmes
is this Anastasia famous? or just a fashionista? she is very stylish!
Oh dear... I so want to like this. However, I just can't.
Nice Louis Vuitton scarf!
She is absolutely stunning and the outfit looks great, but having said that, I don't think the double breasted jacket is particularly flattering.
I'm not such a big fan of the boxy man's suit. If anyone else were to wear it, they would be seriously derided, however she is so beautiful that it doesn't really matter.
THE MAN ON THE RIGHT IS OLIVIER LALANE who also works at VOGUE PARIS and VOGUE HOMMES INTERNATIONAL with ANASTASIA BARBIERI
The girl is very beautiful but the outfit is plain horrible.Shouder pdas shhould be banned forever and the shoes are very wrong. There is no balance or proportion in the whole thing.
how can a human being be so gorgeous?
exquisite tailoring...i'm so envious.
Aren't the trousers a little short?
she looks gorgeous anyway!
pant suit
pant suit
pant suit!!
this is perfection... especialy with the man accessory
This lady is so gracious!
She's perfect!
Ali McGraw in an eighties powersuit!
The resemblance with Ali McGraw is quite uncanny. Look here:

omg, 1987
Beautiful lady, but her jacket is too large for her. She should have a tailor slim the body, remove the sleeves, soften the shoulder slightly - narrow the sleeves and reattach with a roped shoulder. This will present a much more refined and flattering look.
It suddenly hit me coming back to this picture a third time...Mariel Hemingway in a power suit!
