H.O.T.!!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:17 AM) :

That picture is so...French! The pose, the cigarette, wearing only a stylish jacket despite the cold...

Well done

is it at the quartier LAtin?

Blogger Mo said ... (10:24 AM) :

the jacket looks very nice but i can't tell if it's a sweater or blazer, very sharp though

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:34 AM) :

Stylish

Blogger barb. said ... (10:36 AM) :

all about Parisien...

Blogger TEXTSTYLES said ... (10:37 AM) :

gainsbourg for the new year
très chic et cultivé

*kisses*

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 AM) :

OMG! What a beautiful man! Only French could pull this off.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:46 AM) :

what are you saying??,it's not soo french, even not so parisian.. except of course if you have a very "cliché" vision of France, and of Paris
I live in Paris and i'm soo upset earing things like that...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 AM) :

Nice picture. Is that a velvet coat? It's hard to see the texture of the pants. How do the French stay so thin? Is it the cigarettes?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:47 AM) :

'cause we LOVE french men hahahahaha

Blogger 0lga D said ... (10:57 AM) :

je l`aime... :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:07 AM) :

Is the "French cut" his jacket? His trousers? Or best of all his HAIR???

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (11:29 AM) :

How beautiful is this?! It's like Ron Wood meets Dill from the Crying Game.

Blogger NVA said ... (11:41 AM) :

très chic.....

Blogger diane said ... (11:42 AM) :

Easy elegance! This man looks as though he doesn't even realize how chic he looks.

Blogger Andre @ Unrefinery said ... (11:46 AM) :

Normally you try to avoid layering one V over another (like the opening in a jacket over a v-neck T) but it works here because the angles and depth of the two Vs are so different. Nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:50 AM) :

god is dead, but my hair is perfect.

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (12:20 PM) :

Pure nouvelle vague!!! Glad to see how, even if it's not so nouvelle, it is still quite a vague.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

Looks like velvet and I really like the low button stance on this 2-button. Kind of has the effect of a 1-button jacket but the 2 buttons close together elongate the silhouette.

@Carrot Perhaps they stay thin because the only good food I could find in Paris was cheese and bread and the coffee is good.

Blogger christina defalco said ... (12:44 PM) :

Demi Moore's next husband.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:54 PM) :

Perhaps he and la parisienne in the photo below are on their way to Milan together to the Hotel Principe di Savoia to pick up their shirts.

He has that just-fallen-out-of-bed-boy-charm.

Blogger davelane said ... (12:57 PM) :

Love the hair!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:57 PM) :

Wow... I think I am going to make this picture my background, its just amazing. The outfit, pose, setting... Good Work!

Blogger sophia said ... (1:00 PM) :

Amazing, hard to pull off but he is very successful. The jacket is great. The V necks complement each other nicely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:02 PM) :

Very "Orlando Bloom", and he is a little too aware of himself, if you know what I mean.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 PM) :

Dear Sartorialist,
Fantastic solution to link the photos to thesartorialist.com. They now open fullscreen when i click on the picture and with the zoom option i get a large version. I was one the people who commented that the pictures in the blogspot format were too big for my screen. This is a perfect solution.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 PM) :

Very French, perfect

Blogger Randy Wylde said ... (1:43 PM) :

I like when people know how to dress to enhance a particularly lovely portion of their physique. Even if it is the collarbones.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:44 PM) :

Sebastien you look just perfect honey!

Blogger Marquis de Lannes said ... (1:52 PM) :

Les parisiens, toujours beaux!!!! Bisous de Paris!!

Blogger Min said ... (1:54 PM) :

the photo is beautiful, as is the man...

Blogger swaggy said ... (1:57 PM) :

nice look. i dont know too much about this, but i like the lines and the cut (hair and jacket alike.) he does look french but if he is in france its colllld, put a heavier jacket on brotha, velvet won't do it in

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:17 PM) :

ohhhhh that's such a movie like image haha i love it! happy new years by the way

Blogger Dominica said ... (2:52 PM) :

he looks a bit like Cedric (see blog http://cedric-paris2e.blogspot.com/) but less fierce (hair) ...
Typical French or Parisian guy...VERY interesting...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:55 PM) :

beautiful!
i wish we could see his shoes

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:59 PM) :

Only a parisien could be so hot and so cool at the same time...

Blogger cami falcão said ... (3:01 PM) :

love skinny boys, specially those with great style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:01 PM) :

Marvelous. So simple yet so incredibly striking. Only the French could pull this off. I wish I could...

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (3:01 PM) :

Very nice. I wish my hair did that.

Blogger Remah said ... (3:15 PM) :

I love the v-neck and blazer combo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:24 PM) :

Louis??

Blogger morgan said ... (3:33 PM) :

the hair is fantastic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:36 PM) :

I don't see anything original or unique about this outfit. This is exactly the same American Apparel V-neck/skinny jeans/ironic beard/bad hair look that kids are wearing from San Francisco to London and beyond. Though I'm comforted to see that even in Paris there are people so derivative and sheeplike. It makes the jokes about fashion hinterlands lose just a little power.

Blogger Dr. Debonaire said ... (4:09 PM) :

marry me?

Blogger Michelle said ... (4:17 PM) :

le sigh...

Blogger Hemaly said ... (4:29 PM) :

Oh my, he looks so familiar/

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:39 PM) :

I bet the oicture wasn't taken over the past couple of days or the guy would have been found dead frozen.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

Oh for the love of god and all that is holy, even the frenchies are dressing like Edward Cullen.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:00 PM) :

Is it that warm in Paris???

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:09 PM) :

effortlessly cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:12 PM) :

The comment of "i" must be right, the real parisian style for young men is different. But if you are not french and if you love all this nouvelle vague, bohème, Gainsbourg, Sartre 60's bla bla...of course you love this shot and style...and I am not french, so you know.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:30 PM) :

this pic reminds me of the MGMT song "time to pretend" with a little Serge Gainsbourg mixed in for good measure.
Ah, the folly of youth!

Very Cool.

Blogger J.A.F. said ... (5:44 PM) :

Straight out of a Gauloise advert, the mind reels with french cool references like Godard and Assayas. The hair is absolutely amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:47 PM) :

ohhhh wow i miss paris so much.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (6:03 PM) :

When were you in Paris, Scott?
You're going from NYC, to Brazil to Paris.
I envy your work.

Such a mysterious pic this is!

Blogger Inspire the Starling said ... (6:07 PM) :

This is a stereotypically Parisian outfit/guy/image, but maybe it's his nonchalant manner which portrays this? Either way, it's hot!

Blogger Eeva Rinne said ... (6:15 PM) :

i just love the look; siple and elegant. very fresh and stylish!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

Oh boy, I want to marry this guy! What a style does he have... so frenchy so chic!

Blogger Aischrolatreia said ... (6:28 PM) :

Parisian perfection, in a picture.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:56 PM) :

he looks like he stepped out of the movie "Regular Lovers".

this is how i like my men to look: messy but elegant. he is gorgeous.

Blogger Tiger Fodder said ... (7:04 PM) :

Could he look anymore French? Nice lines. I don't like the continental addiction to cigarettes, though.

Blogger Anthony Teasdale said ... (7:06 PM) :

Good blazer, but he must be freezing with only the T-shirt on. Perhaps he was warming himself with his ciggie.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:13 PM) :

What's that in his pocket?
And his ring is charming.
Nice picture.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:38 PM) :

Does anyone else think he sort of looks like the newest doctor who?? extremely sharp and HAWT!!! gorgeous........

Blogger Love + Cake said ... (7:41 PM) :

love the deep pockets...

Blogger lai mai said ... (1:06 AM) :

positively dashing!

he's got a bit of that garance dore glow :)

Blogger SparkleQueen said ... (1:12 AM) :

I love this shot! Although, i wish his face was more focussed. That jacket fits him quite well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:20 AM) :

this picture is beautiful because of the proportions of the fit of his jacket and his hair and the expression on his face. it's so meaningful and perfectly simple.

i also think that it's a great example of the "man makes the clothes" as opposed to the "clothes make the man"--merely asserting that sometimes a really hot man can pull off anything he wants.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:35 AM) :

Elijah Wood, is that you?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 AM) :

Bonjour Monsieur Sartorialist,

Je l'aime. Parfait!

Merci, Zoé

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 AM) :

OMG! What a beautiful man! Only French could pull this off.

Yes. It is so upsetting when people think you are chic and beautiful. Life is so tough.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:21 AM) :

Fantastic. Are there any more photos of him? Would love to see them.

Blogger lucky_me said ... (3:43 AM) :

Mais il est à croquer ce jeune homme....!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:01 AM) :

i'm in love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:16 AM) :

I was worried you had lost your charm there amongst all the spreads and editorials and commercials (GANT & DKNY) but with the last few posts you are quite definitely back, glad to see that.

The Rive Gauche woman with her rough looks, fantastic jawline and brilliant color matching is probably in my top 10 favorites because of it's simplicity.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:42 AM) :

Oh, boy, it's SO French! His face, in particular.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 AM) :

Meh. He's sooo young. But his hair is gorgeous.

Blogger VIVI said ... (10:40 AM) :

Happy New Year.

I am one of your fans, I love your pictures, please keep always your blog it's for me where I find inspiration when I don't know how to dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:18 AM) :

Looks like he could do with a good scrub and a bath !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

great shot. Reminiscent of Picasso's Rose Period masterpiece, Garcon a la Pipe.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:17 PM) :

This is a fantastic picture, but I can't help but think that if the caption said Lower East Side or Williamsburg, everyone would be making fun of a hipster who spent all morning trying to get his hair like that. There is just something about the romance on Paris that changes the perception...

Blogger MommyHeadache said ... (1:45 PM) :

Yum...why no men like this
EVER in the USA?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:56 PM) :

Great style! Great hair! Greeeeat model!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:42 AM) :

even if you did not mention paris we'd know its paris.. and this is a parisian men. because to carry off such a style and still look masculine is an art only the french have mastered. the rest of mankind just ends up in the queens chamber.
your pic again has filled me with such a longing to be in paris that i'm simply going to lie down now and dream!

MARRY ME NOW

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:09 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 PM) :

I don't know whether it is the cut so much as his posture, facial and body, that looks french to me. Just like I think most of the credit for his lovely hair can go to the wind, and a good cut.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:24 PM) :

I read that I'm not the only one who love this picture so much! I'm in love with french men and Paris and France and ..whatever deals with france!he looks totally french-I agree with all these comments *love him-great-fabolous picture!and of course PERFECT STYLE*
