Comments on "On the Street....French Cut, Paris"
H.O.T.!!!
That picture is so...French! The pose, the cigarette, wearing only a stylish jacket despite the cold...
Well done
is it at the quartier LAtin?
the jacket looks very nice but i can't tell if it's a sweater or blazer, very sharp though
Stylish
all about Parisien...
gainsbourg for the new year
très chic et cultivé
*kisses*
OMG! What a beautiful man! Only French could pull this off.
what are you saying??,it's not soo french, even not so parisian.. except of course if you have a very "cliché" vision of France, and of Paris
I live in Paris and i'm soo upset earing things like that...
Nice picture. Is that a velvet coat? It's hard to see the texture of the pants. How do the French stay so thin? Is it the cigarettes?
'cause we LOVE french men hahahahaha
je l`aime... :)
Is the "French cut" his jacket? His trousers? Or best of all his HAIR???
How beautiful is this?! It's like Ron Wood meets Dill from the Crying Game.
très chic.....
Easy elegance! This man looks as though he doesn't even realize how chic he looks.
Normally you try to avoid layering one V over another (like the opening in a jacket over a v-neck T) but it works here because the angles and depth of the two Vs are so different. Nice.
god is dead, but my hair is perfect.
Pure nouvelle vague!!! Glad to see how, even if it's not so nouvelle, it is still quite a vague.
Looks like velvet and I really like the low button stance on this 2-button. Kind of has the effect of a 1-button jacket but the 2 buttons close together elongate the silhouette.
@Carrot Perhaps they stay thin because the only good food I could find in Paris was cheese and bread and the coffee is good.
Demi Moore's next husband.
Perhaps he and la parisienne in the photo below are on their way to Milan together to the Hotel Principe di Savoia to pick up their shirts.
He has that just-fallen-out-of-bed-boy-charm.
Love the hair!
Wow... I think I am going to make this picture my background, its just amazing. The outfit, pose, setting... Good Work!
Amazing, hard to pull off but he is very successful. The jacket is great. The V necks complement each other nicely.
Very "Orlando Bloom", and he is a little too aware of himself, if you know what I mean.
Dear Sartorialist,
Fantastic solution to link the photos to thesartorialist.com. They now open fullscreen when i click on the picture and with the zoom option i get a large version. I was one the people who commented that the pictures in the blogspot format were too big for my screen. This is a perfect solution.
Very French, perfect
I like when people know how to dress to enhance a particularly lovely portion of their physique. Even if it is the collarbones.
Sebastien you look just perfect honey!
Les parisiens, toujours beaux!!!! Bisous de Paris!!
the photo is beautiful, as is the man...
nice look. i dont know too much about this, but i like the lines and the cut (hair and jacket alike.) he does look french but if he is in france its colllld, put a heavier jacket on brotha, velvet won't do it in
ohhhhh that's such a movie like image haha i love it! happy new years by the way
he looks a bit like Cedric (see blog http://cedric-paris2e.blogspot.com/) but less fierce (hair) ...
Typical French or Parisian guy...VERY interesting...
beautiful!
i wish we could see his shoes
Only a parisien could be so hot and so cool at the same time...
love skinny boys, specially those with great style.
Marvelous. So simple yet so incredibly striking. Only the French could pull this off. I wish I could...
Very nice. I wish my hair did that.
I love the v-neck and blazer combo!
Louis??
the hair is fantastic.
I don't see anything original or unique about this outfit. This is exactly the same American Apparel V-neck/skinny jeans/ironic beard/bad hair look that kids are wearing from San Francisco to London and beyond. Though I'm comforted to see that even in Paris there are people so derivative and sheeplike. It makes the jokes about fashion hinterlands lose just a little power.
marry me?
le sigh...
Oh my, he looks so familiar/
I bet the oicture wasn't taken over the past couple of days or the guy would have been found dead frozen.
Oh for the love of god and all that is holy, even the frenchies are dressing like Edward Cullen.
Is it that warm in Paris???
effortlessly cool.
The comment of "i" must be right, the real parisian style for young men is different. But if you are not french and if you love all this nouvelle vague, bohème, Gainsbourg, Sartre 60's bla bla...of course you love this shot and style...and I am not french, so you know.
this pic reminds me of the MGMT song "time to pretend" with a little Serge Gainsbourg mixed in for good measure.
Ah, the folly of youth!
Very Cool.
Straight out of a Gauloise advert, the mind reels with french cool references like Godard and Assayas. The hair is absolutely amazing.
ohhhh wow i miss paris so much.
When were you in Paris, Scott?
You're going from NYC, to Brazil to Paris.
I envy your work.
Such a mysterious pic this is!
This is a stereotypically Parisian outfit/guy/image, but maybe it's his nonchalant manner which portrays this? Either way, it's hot!
i just love the look; siple and elegant. very fresh and stylish!
Oh boy, I want to marry this guy! What a style does he have... so frenchy so chic!
Parisian perfection, in a picture.
he looks like he stepped out of the movie "Regular Lovers".
this is how i like my men to look: messy but elegant. he is gorgeous.
Could he look anymore French? Nice lines. I don't like the continental addiction to cigarettes, though.
Good blazer, but he must be freezing with only the T-shirt on. Perhaps he was warming himself with his ciggie.
What's that in his pocket?
And his ring is charming.
Nice picture.
Does anyone else think he sort of looks like the newest doctor who?? extremely sharp and HAWT!!! gorgeous........
So brilliant. So beautiful.
love, mav
I love this photo.
The hair, the jacket, the pose, the cigarette. Sooo hot
Not only do you capture great style, you also take great photos. :)
wow. bonjour mon beau.
the boys is like so french
love the pose
that is a such a win... classic.
zero critisism.
perfect outfit, perfect moment.
WOW! He's perfect.
Pretty awesome hair. and jacket.
The Kucher comment was hysterical.
This café is in the 3rd arrondissement near rue Charlot, the 'new' (soon has been) place to be.
Nice, nice, nice. Nice.
wow.. he is very sexy. modern. french.
nice capture of a moment.
le frenchie
anyone else see Jean-Pierre Léaud?
love the deep pockets...
positively dashing!
he's got a bit of that garance dore glow :)
I love this shot! Although, i wish his face was more focussed. That jacket fits him quite well.
this picture is beautiful because of the proportions of the fit of his jacket and his hair and the expression on his face. it's so meaningful and perfectly simple.
i also think that it's a great example of the "man makes the clothes" as opposed to the "clothes make the man"--merely asserting that sometimes a really hot man can pull off anything he wants.
Elijah Wood, is that you?
Bonjour Monsieur Sartorialist,
Je l'aime. Parfait!
Merci, Zoé
OMG! What a beautiful man! Only French could pull this off.

Yes. It is so upsetting when people think you are chic and beautiful. Life is so tough.
Fantastic. Are there any more photos of him? Would love to see them.
Like many have said - he is SO FRENCH!!!
ahahah most of the Parisian boys are dressed like this, LOVELY dandies!
xoxo
Sarah from Paris
Beautiful !
I live in Paris too - do you have his number by chance ? ;)
Love love love the french
Charming, blasé and self confident
He has it all!
Mais il est à croquer ce jeune homme....!
i'm in love!
I was worried you had lost your charm there amongst all the spreads and editorials and commercials (GANT & DKNY) but with the last few posts you are quite definitely back, glad to see that.
The Rive Gauche woman with her rough looks, fantastic jawline and brilliant color matching is probably in my top 10 favorites because of it's simplicity.
Oh, boy, it's SO French! His face, in particular.
Meh. He's sooo young. But his hair is gorgeous.
Happy New Year.
I am one of your fans, I love your pictures, please keep always your blog it's for me where I find inspiration when I don't know how to dress.
Kisses
Vivi
Looks like he could do with a good scrub and a bath !
great shot. Reminiscent of Picasso's Rose Period masterpiece, Garcon a la Pipe.
This is a fantastic picture, but I can't help but think that if the caption said Lower East Side or Williamsburg, everyone would be making fun of a hipster who spent all morning trying to get his hair like that. There is just something about the romance on Paris that changes the perception...
Yum...why no men like this
EVER in the USA?
Great style! Great hair! Greeeeat model!
*-*
Kisses!
Nanda - Brazil
oh please, dear french guy - could you marry me?
(why do i never ever see a man like this in my town?)
Mais oui, mais oui, c'est vrai, il est à croquer !! =)
J'aime ce style un peu dandy..!
what a beautiful, lithe and elegant male.
my god, those french...meow!
oh gosh, he's gorgeous
He's deliciously androgynous. Beautiful wintertime in Paris look.
typical french look ! I like it ...
I know this guy!!!!!
It was in september.... I remenber...(fashion week in Paris at Marché du carreau du temple);..
French style...I like it
And Monsieur Sarkozy can thank you, Sart, for the sudden influx of foreign women into Paris. But seriously, thanks for posting. So yum.
I love this photo! Simple candid shot.
www.quotunquoteonline.com
Ya, that is NOT America, coming from an American x
Haha. Is that the singer from BB Brune?
Aka the French version of the Jonas Brothers. Sans the purity rings.
this is so cool!
i love his jacket and his hair :p
you can find guys dressed like this all the time! (but sans the hair maybe)
i love everything about this man, wonderful!
just like a godard film
VERY Parisian. j'adore!!!
I think there is something to be said about the simplicity, and effectiveness, of a simple white undershirt. Haines couture!
Great photography, very french looking
love this out-fit!
GREAT photo… very french indeed!
Congratulations!
Super french, actually... How beautiful...
xXx
French style!
Love it!!
Cool look !
Moi j'adore ++++++++++++++ beau gosse, quel style!!!!!
the blazer and t-shirt are so perfect together, but best of all is that hair!
Wow, this is one hot French man!
devant mon café préféré du 3eme :)
Edward Cullen!
:)
tres beau... j'aime bien cette photo!
SHARP.
his collar bone amazes me
i want that jacket
very nice
if I was there, I would probably be staring at a guy like that.
and be humiliated by the staring.
He's beautiful.
I bet he looked even better in motion
even if you did not mention paris we'd know its paris.. and this is a parisian men. because to carry off such a style and still look masculine is an art only the french have mastered. the rest of mankind just ends up in the queens chamber.
your pic again has filled me with such a longing to be in paris that i'm simply going to lie down now and dream!
MARRY ME NOW
I don't know whether it is the cut so much as his posture, facial and body, that looks french to me. Just like I think most of the credit for his lovely hair can go to the wind, and a good cut.
I read that I'm not the only one who love this picture so much! I'm in love with french men and Paris and France and ..whatever deals with france!he looks totally french-I agree with all these comments *love him-great-fabolous picture!and of course PERFECT STYLE*
The white cotton V-neck t-shirt has got to be the most universally flattering piece of clothing.
I am addicted to the photograph of this fine young gentleman. Thank you for finding him in the world and for taking the time to share him with the rest of us.
Fantastic! Love love love.
perfect
He sure does make me want to have a french love affair.
If you took more photos of him, PLEASE post them. I'd die to see more of this piece of art.
this looks like a shot taken straight out of a french movie. i love the black velvet
darnn.. now we're talkin about HOT! yes, HOT!
twilight hair!! LOL
oh no, now other readers are going to hate my comment for sure
LOL
likin' the tops.. :)
love how you capture things Sart.. :)
cool (^_^)
French men can dress!
I know this guy
Handsome, great style.
breathtaking.
I really love this; for some reason he reminds me of the young man in 'Grey Gardens' whom Little Edie always called 'the Marble Faun.'
this defines french dressing
A chraming 2009 version of Jean Pierre Leaud. Nouvelle vague is back! And it rocks!
Love it.
very frenchy!
i love this guy.. oh yeahh..
simply flawless.
French style, totally!!! I love this blog!!!!
I love French male style. Male styles in the states are just awful.
best photograph in a long time. beautiful.
This look is rampant in Montreal.. I guess its a French thing
S

"Haha. Is that the singer from BB Brune? Aka the French version of the Jonas Brothers. Sans the purity rings."
That's what I was thinking, too!
He's beautiful. This picture took my breath away.
Sous ces airs d'innocence... Just the typical Parisian teenager (to the question above: we don't stay thin only bcause of cigarettes, we pay muuuch attention to food portions...)
woouuuu! I believe that I fall in love! jeje!
Saludos desde Argentina...
