Comments on "On the Street.... Giovanna, Paris"
She's spectacular, as always!
Beautiful! the yellow brings light to the the grayness of Paris.
I love her scarf. Flawless
beautifull! but why she wears this one and same grey polo neck all the time ? it's already third picture! :)
but all in all nice :)
Stunning
Giovanna is the best! Love her shoes.
Show us the photo of the guy hext to her!
She gets an incredible amount of use out of that grey turtleneck- have I seen her without it? She looks great as usual- I love the pants and shoes. I can't imagine these pants being flattering on anyone with a less perfect figure than hers, not with this cut and texture and bright color. Making them work this well is something of an achievement, but they look great on her.
love it. love the colors, love the texture, love the shoes. very chic
Yellow pants very rarely work. But I think she just about pulled it of.
perfect- she makes everything shine!
who is she/what does she do? she is in so many photos! she looks very chic and i love the grey/yellow combination, however i cant help but feel that the pants look a little out of season...are they linen? Isnt it december? ....enough said.
Giovanna is always so fantastic! Are those yellow seersucker pants in the Winter? I don't care. I love it.
nice pants :> oh how I miss spring <3

I love the way this woman ignores the photographer to her left who was just making a picture of the Louvre.
Bellissima Giovanna! And this guy with yellow shoes touch behind her is just perfect!
Loving the color and shape!! Great Inspiration
Love the cropped yellow pants...and the shoes...and the scarf
Simply perfect or better effortlessly smart
Is that guy taking a picture of you? UHm...I'd like to see his blog ;-)
Absolutely splendid! Everything! The woman, the outfit, the photographer, the shadows on the ground...love it all.
I love how the pants without a belt create a continuous line- beware, this trick is only for skinny people!!! I love the plain texture of the sweater next to the rich texture of the slacks- which somehow work with the shoes, which are almost too much by themselves. The scarf can be tricky as the print is so loud, but she frames it well by matting it on the plain gray sweater. I guess bottom line for me is: she treads treacherous ground and breaks several rules (only ONE loud item, only ONE loud texture, EASY on the loud prints) but accomplishes a fabulous outfit! Wow, those yellow pants and the pumps are to die for!
wow
I am always impressed by people who can fit all their stuff into a flat little clutch bag - how do they do it??
Very cool shoes and glasses, too.
I'm takin' a picture of you takin' a picture of me.
wow
What material are her pants made of? Chintz? Silk? Plastic? The shoes are lovely.
so lovely. always.
♥
Love the scarf...
great combination of colors and shape, not so sure on the shoes... are them yellow and gray? If it's grey, this mise might lose its "effortlessy chic" mood.
beautiful look, beutiful colors
I love her pants and the grey-yellow combo. It's a simple outfit, yet it looks amazing.
this is gorgeous, especially the punch of yellow, but i wonder if it would look as good if she were just standing there as opposed to walking. sometimes, certain outfits look better in motion, and i think this is one of them.
obviously, she's gorgeous and the items are beautifully compiled, the gray creating a warm field for the wisteria china glaze tones in the scarf and acting as a wonderfully nothing counterpoint to the
color and texture of the pants and the party shoes.
But the middle is unresolved and cries out for an old eighteen carat-y chain link belt or something in a swamp green crocodile.
That would have been the fifth pirouette.
love the yellow pant with no belt. The sunglasses are great too.
The guy is shooting you as you shot her, silly boy should have turned to see what you were doing!
She is so lovely, just keep posting her and all will be well in the world! :--)
I love the color combinations! Giovanna always looks lovely and isn't afraid to experiment.
bella!
Wow, this is an amazing outfit. Love the gray paired with yellow... I don't even normally like yellow, but those pants are really great.
Love the color but something about the outfit doesn't feel right...
Ray of light..... :)
Simple, elegant and feminine as always. I love the grey.
Love the outfit, but the crotch on those pants is just crazy-bad. Only a model's body and attitude is saving her.
She is always looking great!
this woman can do no wrong.
I feel like I should know who she is but I don't. nonetheless she is the epitome of a Parisienne -- and yes, it's the same grey sweater and that just makes it all the better. French women don't have loads of stuff, they have a few perfect pieces. Love it, and what a great message in these times of economic strife. We can look GREAT with a few great things rather than a truckload.....
Fabulous pants! I agree like two rays of sunlight -- perfect for a cold winter day in NYC.
Glorious! Am going to Paris soon and hope to encounter such loveliness...
She looks great
i love that her scarf just complements the splash of yellow of her pants. definitely inspiration for how to do color in fall/winter.
and that walk, her posture - just goes to show that it's about the whole person, not just stylish clothes!
texture texture texture! love it! and the yellow!!
the pants are by MARNI. they are a really lightweight, almost spongy matelasse material. they were on MARNI's Fall 2008 runway. She looks amazing in them!
I like the use of colour. I love the shoes!
she could not be more chic. love every aspect of this outfit, which not many others could pull off.
Much more interesting this time, Giovanna. Love the colours and the throwaway chic.
Her hair bothers me though. It's the severe centre part. The same as on the woman in the November 26 photos titled Continuing Style, Paris. Maybe both women need to think about getting a stylish, looser cut, which is an important part of the architecture.
loving it
I love her shoes!
http://avondalestyle.blogspot.com/
Modern chic personified. And she never forgets that essential, but often overlooked element, a little bit of surprise.
Love it,yellow and grey stunning
The next time someone asks me what I want to be when I grow up I'm going to point directly at this picture.
she really is a fascinating woman! i never, ever get sick of her style.
She looks amazing!
And if this picture is shot in December/November I just ask myself why on earth I live in Stockholm and not in Paris!! ;)
My jaw dropped...Absolutely GORGEOUS! The yellow, the texture, the shoes, the scarf! *sigh* Flawless! Giovanna's just incredible!
i like the outfit but i must say: is her picture really taken 'on the street'? i thot on the street would mean a passerby but she's not passerby - surely some fashionista.
Made me smile, the shoes and the pants...also the scarf...perfect!
Two Giovanni shots in the space of a few days.... I can only say THANK YOU.
She's just so spectacular and I love the shoes in this photo as much as anything I have seen her wear on this blog.
Meravigliosa!!! Che bellissima donna!!!!!
her outfit looks effortless. perfect.
J'aime beaucoup l'effet pantalon jaune et pull...très classe...
Well she is just all round fabulous, i'd like to grow up to be her one day!
I just love the photo! Most of your photos are not only great for fashion inspiration, but they are great street photographs as well. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love yellow and grey. Excellently executed at that.
shoes=incredible
I love yellow and grey together!
In my dream sartorialist blog (it can hardly get better, but still), there's a special section for Giovanna and Yasmin Sewell. Effortless, classy dressers the both of them.
this is a very chic look and i honestly think you have to know how to wear your attitude first and then the clothes:)
she knows it very well!
shoes are the best piece!
Love it !
Love it!
The color, the fit, the scarf.
Who wouldn't want to be That girl!
I love the burst of yellow in a rather grey and black world.
Confidence. Elegance. Nonchalance. Intelligence. Seriously delightful. She floats. She is not human.
Love those pants - the length is just perfect! I agree with 'eleonora' - the yellow pants and the top look quite classy together!
Another fab find sartorialist!
I don't "get" this outfit--I see I'm in the minority, but it looks haphazard and kind of "aunty". What am I missing?
I'm just not feeling this outfit. I think she's a pretty women & I love the yellow/grey combo but somehow the bottom doesn't seem to reflect the season of the top half. And, I find the guy taking a picture of you quite amusing:)
Really pretty, though it gave me a bit of a chill.
For some reason it reminded me of the late Wallis Franken, in bright Claude Montana pants.
:(
Her shoes and pants matched beautifully! Actually her snapshot was on a Japanese fashion magazine..
I couldn't help but think of Jeff Wall's "Picture for Women" with this image. A paradox of viewing. Is he taking a picture of us? Are we looking at a picture of him? What is she looking at?... That said, the outfit is wonderful.
i dont think i've ever seen yellow mixed with grey so well! she is always impeccable, but i especially LOVE this outfit.
Gosh, how chic!!!
I like this picture. Only because of the photographer next to the lady. :)
Grey and yellow, great combination. But I would take a look at her coat, how it fits to the pants.
Her hands in the pocket and the guy behind in the coat shows that December is December also in Paris.
I do hope that she is not the kind of woman, who is rather freazing in order to look great on your pics.
Amazing as usual.
Love the vibrant yellow trousers.
lovely combination! i like mixes of grey and yellow\green!
it looks so dynamic) alive...
She has a wonderful sense of style. Simple & classic - no matter what she puts together, it always appears without effort.
since I am new to this blog and I acknowledge my ignorance to fashion, may I shy ask who is Giovanna? I have seen more picture of her on this blog and she look absolutely gorgeous with her yellow pants. I love her glasses.
Giovanna has such a great style, always looking good.
nice colors and awesome scarf.
She look so amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
Glorious!!!!!!!
Who is she?
I have no idea who she is or what she does, but that look is beyond amazing. Are those shoes snakeskin? I love every single thing about this look and may copy it myself.
magnificent!
are her sunglasses tom ford or persol? they are perfect.
The lovely Giovanna once again. A good picture and a good outfit is something that is somewhat imperfect. There is just enough space left for the viewer to fill it up in hers/his imagination. If there was a belt with those yellow pants, her outfit would be perfect, but without it,the picture is. Get it?
I like the outfit, the colours and textures are great. But, as someone has already pointed out, the crotch of the pants is horrible, way too low. A man would fit in there easily.
Love the shoes!
She's absolutely stunning. Few people are blessed with the effortless and inimitable elegance she disposes of. Giovanna and Anastasia Zammit are the few lucky ones.
She looks wonderful, as usual - but on a woman without very narrow hips this would look atrocious.
Wonderful! I love the texture of the pants with those wonderful, delicate shoes. And the nice comfy gray sweater on top makes it less ummery.
love the contrast of the yellow pants & the gray top.. brilliant (literally)!
Dear Giovanna,
Teach me.c
absolutely KILLER. this is PURE unadulterated style like you rarely see- even on a gem of a blog like this. amazing.
It is absolutely stunning. Love the scarf to go with the grey turtleneck. Does anybody know where to get the scarf?
i love her!
i must have those pants and she is the ultimate in nonchalance perfecto style. love her. love what she's wearing. love how she's walking. great.
Take-my-breath-away style.
Those pants rock.
She looks effortlessly chic, as only the French manage to can pull off with such exquisite élan. I love this look, it's practical yet she is clearly exhibiting her individual, personal style, there's no head-to-toe labels here that's for sure!
Does anyone know who her sunglasses are by? I've been on the look-out for a style just like these but havent been able to find any... merci!
She is ITALIAN.
Giovanna è italiana!
effortless chic. And she is so so nice.)
I love this look, the yellow pants are divine, her whole look is perfectly chic.
Italian woman, with a parisian style.
We all love Giovanna...
If somebody knows by who the sunglasses are, please let us know!
Per-fect!!!!!
So beautiful...Very simple, but at the same time it seems that there's a glow around her...
Oh bless! mellow YELLOW! Chic!
This feels like a breath of fresh air for the eyes; gorgeous, uplifting.
I love a nice grey turtleneck. I wear mine all the time and it looks great with everything. Very classy outfit. I like her in colours.
