Comments on "On the Street....Near Le Marais, Paris"
OMG!!! that's how individual STYLE is born. How old is she anyway? She looks 12/13...
Great background and picture!
Interesting sneakers she got. Love the outfit, but the coat is maybe a little bit too much. (Although I can imagine it is becoming cold in Paris now.
incredible photo.
wow. pretty unusual look. strange. but somehow it works.
She looks great! Love the coat ande the mini dress!
Rhooa ! On dirait un petit écureuil !
Lovely clothes assemblage !
Am I the only one who don't like her style??
Love the figure with coat against that background!
pretty cool! i just hope it's not real fur, that would be sad if it is.
Love the top half and the coat.. but what the heck is the bottom half doing? Looks as if it belonged to another outfit...
Narnia!
i love it
it's like a deleted scene from the cutting floor of Star Wars
loves
I love how the color of her hair blends in with the coat! Just fabulous!
comfy boho
She's got an ethereal pixie quality to her, but the sneakers ruin it for me.
SO cool!! goes to show some people are just born with what it takes to have great style. thanks for posting, Sart, Happy Monday!
What are her pumps? Nice.
the leggings, the ankle socks and the shoes truly ruin the look.
Not on purpose. there are times when people are being fashionable, and other times when they simply have nothing else to wear...
So urban and cool, but the jacket is too much.
Looks like some manga character...
I would never try this all, but is is so pleasant to see
this is fantastic! absolutely loving the coat.. i think its genius how she paired it with the sneakers.. mixing the sheek with the grunge gives it a defiant feel, like she is challenging someone to question her fashion choices.. the coat wouldnt be nearly as memorable for me if it wasnt paird with the sneakers.
and the backdrop on the photo is absolutely GORGEOUS.
probably my favorite picture on this site to date. love love love.
props sart.
The way the hood frames her face and works with her hair is magical. Not a big fan of the whole thing, but that part is beautiful. You have a great eye for spotting it!
this is not style. this is fashion overkill. you can't just throw on a bunch of random stuff because you have not done laundry and be stylish. it is an art and she does not achieve style. her leggings and top are average pieces that everyone is wearing right now, the coat is nice but not suitable for the outfit, and don't even get me started on the shoes. i don't mean to sound so negative but i work in the fashion industry and this is just bogus.
um, wow.. amazing.
Seriously?
I love this, even the coat that looks like it could have been made out of a whole zoo of marmots. I hope not. I don't know anyone who could carry this off, but she does. Its so kooky.
nope
kitchen sink design statement
if its cold enough for fur then it's cold enough to wear stocking or socks, at least.
This looses all the way around.
She's actually 19, we went to high school with her. She's studying university in France now though. She always had an amazing sense of style.
everything about just fits. shes got style. and if you take any one single thing off of that outfit. i guarantee that it would not have made this blog.
I love the coat and how it matches her hair. The print of her tunic goes really well with it, but I'm not crazy about the piece itself - maybe if it were knee length or long and worn with tights & boots.
I don't like the leggings or shoes. But she is super cute, and it's not awful.
Awesome.
For real?
Wait...for real?!!?
love it as a whole
the wild child, france 2008
I will forgive her outfit for her young-ness. the time we all make fashion mistakes. The shoes and ankle socks are - (sorry but...) - awful!!! so unflattering. I wish white ankle socks could be banned from any use other then sports.
the modern french yeti
Yeah no way guys. I love the photo just like I loved some pictures of natural disasters that were taken but that does not mean I love the actual outfit. I don't think I would ever like the fur. But the other individual pieces are ok just not together. I mean ankle socks, come on.
is no one else getting Princess Mononoke from this?
still amazing nonetheless. SHE WORKS IT.
hah she looks like a tribal yeti
ew fur. Cool sneakers though and a very pretty girl. Background is the best part though.
Nanook of Le Marais.
Fab.
Nanook of the hood!
no likie.
I did a double-take; I bought a very similar tunic/dress at Forever 21 early this spring.
No, really! Tacky tacky tacky. I agree with the person who wondered if she had anything else to wear... Cute little face, though, she looks straight out of Dr Seuss - the Grinch!
No, no, no
OMG. i know her. she's 19, and she has always had the most eclectic style. love it or hate it, katia is too cool to care anyway...
What a babe.
I love her. love. AND it is odd because I abhor 1920s cotton repro dresses (too A&F) as well as too short leggings, and dresses over leggings, and "I'm always board in class so I doodle on my sneakers" sneakers, oh yeah and ankle socks too. BUT I love "her" that face owns it all. She makes it all work because she's young and doesn't know better so it is all fresh to her.
Oh yeah, the Foxy Cleopatra fur, needless to say, a great replacement for the dowdy pilled knit cardi this outfit is usually seen with.
what a minx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! babe you look like a cuddly bear.
come home Katia, stop walking the back sts of paris.
eli says HI
what a great, individual, freaky style!
her hair belongs to this coat.
it is great how sometimes elements that wouldn´t work together in theory end up making a great outfit.
good spotted!
oh my gosh! i have that dress!!
Not a fan of fur, but I love the way it blends with her hair. Very Renoir.
she is young. probably not a lot of money. is not trying to please anybody. she is not TRYING to put together a fashion statement.
(she reminds me a lot of my daughter)...
her natural, gorgeous face framed by the hood is stunning.
I love it.
oh funny, that little eskimo makes me laugh!
her hair looks so furry, and of course the background does a lot for her.
the shoes/socks .. hmmm, dont know. but honestly, what kind of shoes would fit better than those?
LOL!! It reminds me of an episode of "I Love Lucy" where Ethel in an effort to disguise herself as an exotic beauty combines American Indian, Eskimo, and Asian costumes to come up with an outfit that Fred will not recognize her in. This outfit certainly is pretty individual and unique, thank goodness.
this is amazing.
look how gorgeously her hair sits beneath that hood.
one of the best i've seen on here.
gahhh!
I love it! So individual. What a great look.
Amazing that her shoes match the background. Wow!
Great photo!
HAHAHR wow. I miss you babe. :( L
Cute.
Anouk of the North....
I say the shoes need rethinking.....
hmm, No!
Totally amazing. Probably one of my favorite Sartorialist photos ever ever ever
where is she going? beautiful girl
This reminds of my own student youth in Vienna some 40 years ago. But I combined fur and innocence with leather loafers or boots.
The whole outfit must have cost her $50 bucks. Clothes + Ebay = priceless. I love this time period of "Vintage". Vintage 2008 and beyond...the time period celebrities and ordinary people paired $2 white tees with $1400 shoes. You could say people are bored....ACTUALLY you can say that. Vanity has turned BORING...overabundance has turned SOUR. The only thing worth watching is COUTURE. Because who is crazy enough to spend $30,000 on a dress while children are still dying of starvation in Africa. Jeans and T-shirt = Originality + Communism. I rest my case....
This is great. I love the layering...
xCC
Looking at Parisian girls always makes me regret my choice to stay in the states.
Fantastic ... love the whole look, it reminds me of a young Bjork. She's beautiful too, amazing facial features.
i have the exact same dress!but i would have never thought of wearing it in this combination, probably looks awkward on me 2
but it works on her!..maybe except the shoes
that coat is incredible!!! and her shoes and jumpsuit/dress fits perfectly, oh what a cool outfit!
australians in paris!!
Yes! Very björk-esque.
Awesome.
nice dress...
Great photo, but I don't really like what she's wearing. The coat seems a bit much, but I guess its keeping her warm...
