His outfit is outrageous! A short sleeved jacket?! Tragedy

Blogger InnyVinny said ... (5:03 PM) :

I love the exposed long sleeves under the blazer!

Blogger J. Wesley Brown said ... (5:04 PM) :

Is that Jamie Hince?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:06 PM) :

hack and lepere. nice shot! they totally don't look like they were expecting it!

also, they look like they had been doing some grocery shopping, not viewing the current chanel show, but what do i know?

Blogger Franki Skye said ... (5:09 PM) :

Love this picture! The perfect couple..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:14 PM) :

The picture is spectacular and so are their clothes. I love the way they are both on their mobiles looking busy and as though they can not see the camera.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (5:15 PM) :

this looks...funny! :)

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (5:20 PM) :

Great photo as always! Anouk looks absolutely gorgeous! Love the look from head to toe!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:21 PM) :

The woman on the left looks so well put together, and the face of a cherub to boot. Not sure about what inspired the man to roll his sleeves up on his jacket. Maybe he was washing his hands and wet his shirt sleeves. I love his shoes (suede wingtips).

Blogger Smalls said ... (5:21 PM) :

Damn, she's beautiful.

Like her cuffed sleeves, but not digging the short sleeve blazer on the dude.

Blogger TMFA said ... (5:23 PM) :

Oh Gosh.
I love the woman's style!
The boy is cool as well, just dont like the glasses.

Blogger Chi-Chi and the Greek Vintage said ... (5:25 PM) :

wHAT A GREAT PICTURE!!!!!! I'm not sure if they are a "couple" but they look so in sync!!!

Blogger thwany said ... (5:25 PM) :

i love the guy's jacket --- it must feel so liberating on the arms.

Blogger jkh said ... (5:27 PM) :

love love love

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:36 PM) :

those suede wingtips.. does anyone know the brand?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:45 PM) :

Her shoes seen inappropriate, given their layered attire, the weather must be cool. Stylish low heeled boots would have been better on her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:45 PM) :

huh?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:51 PM) :

I like this high rolled sleeves jacket...it makes the jacket so fresh and new..; and I adore and am sticking to those suede wingtips.
The girl's look is all right: laid back stylish one
The couple is in synch: mobile, jackets, gorgeous shoes
La brigade de la Mode

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:19 PM) :

i find both of them to be constantly lovely. the "short sleeved" blazer (is it not just rolled up sleeves?) is daring on a man and quite refreshing.
it is jefferson and anouck, no? classic.

Blogger Patricia said ... (7:00 PM) :

ANOUCK!!!! my favorite model... she looks radiant.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:10 PM) :

oh, and her bag? daunt books! possibly the nicest shop in londoon - that's very stylish...

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (7:12 PM) :

For some reason I do not like her shoes and hose here, although the color of the shoes is good with the rest of her outfit. His look is almost too eccentric to critique- what to base it upon? I DO like the way they look together in the photo- that's the most interesting thing about it!

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:39 PM) :

personally, i think that open-toed shoes with nylons is a mistake every time.
the rest, however, is very nice although not particularly striking style-wise. Her face, however, is stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:46 PM) :

That guy needs to really sort his act out. I think the worst dressed male ever on the sartorialist. Short sleeved jacket aside, the [faded black even!] jeans with the rest of the ensemble is inexcusable. And including the sunglasses he really has got nothing right.

Sorry to be so negative!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:02 PM) :

she looks like rachel weisz..but i guess its Anouk!

Love the outfits, particularly love the grey blazer..tired of seeing the black/dark blue version on everyone.

Blogger Wanderlusting said ... (9:09 PM) :

I like the shot and the overall look. But pantyhose and sandals? UNDER PANTS? I must be seeing things :P

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:21 PM) :

Love how you caught them by surprise. The self importance attitude here is palpable....oh, and a good meal would kill them both.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 PM) :

wow this is such a great photo!
love the colors & the movement!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:45 PM) :

I can't tell whether his right sleeve is rolled up, but the one on his left looks a little longer - or is that just me? I dig the look regardless, though as someone already said, not the sunnies.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:50 PM) :

what brand are her jeans? theyre gorgeous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:09 PM) :

her outfit is def. one of my favorites so far! all perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:32 PM) :

Okay, well, then, there, I think what this proves to me is you can throw on just about anything and call it stylish as long as you look a bit smug and urban. Seriously, like, anything goes, right?

Blogger Original It-Boy said ... (10:40 PM) :

Anouck L.and Jefferson H.
One of the most stylish couple in the fashion industry. Her sense of style is beyond awesome.

Blogger Nathalie said ... (11:09 PM) :

When I see two people in a public space both using a mobile phone, I always imagine they are talking to each other on the phone...(a pretty frequent situation, in fact!) I like the little potential for absurdity in that situation.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:45 PM) :

i could care less about the fellow but her outfit is to die for!! here is style!! love it!!

Blogger annalise said ... (11:52 PM) :

what is anouk's last name?
you've captured such oblivious expressions - so good.

Blogger Shaynuh said ... (11:56 PM) :

Modern "Bonnie and Clyde"!

Blogger the sophisticat said ... (12:59 AM) :

I want that jacket...
Jefferson Hack, correct?
Brill.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:04 AM) :

Very, very lovely, although I may be biased because dark wash jeans + fitted jacket + scarf is my own personal favorite type of ensemble this time of year.

I have always, always hated nylons with open-toed shoes. I think it looks strange, and if you need to wear nylons with an outfit, odds are strappy heels are neither weather or occasion appropriate. Especially because the straps are sticking out. I agree with another poster that low boots would have really completed the look.

Other than that, I love the outfits, and I love the photo, especially because they're both shifting their weight and just on the brink of movement.

Blogger mette said ... (1:15 AM) :

Oh the slimness of the girl, perfect for the jeans that are not slimmy slim and match the scarf perfectly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:23 AM) :

isn't that kate moss's babydaddy jefferson hack?

Blogger Dominica said ... (1:55 AM) :

Isn't this Anouk L. (she's Belgian - yep !) and the ex of Kate Moss ??
Forget his name..she looks fab !
Love her jean..

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:29 AM) :

not jamie hince, hack and anouk, :)
love both outfits

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:42 AM) :

i'm guessing they're talking to each other...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:08 AM) :

I love the fact that she has forgone the kind of flashy designer accessories that I loathe. They both look wonderful and uncalculated.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:17 AM) :

that's anouck and boyfriend jefferson hack (ex to kate moss and dad of her fierce daughter lila)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:16 AM) :

It's Jefferson Hack - love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:17 AM) :

It's Jefferson Hack. Who else can be that funky?!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:24 AM) :

She looks like Brooke Shields!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:30 AM) :

I have the bag! only 5 pounds, it's an ecologist bag, i bought it last March in London!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:57 AM) :

put an ericsson or a nokia logo in a corner of the image and it'd immediately be part of a very good-looking ad campaign.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:58 AM) :

jefferson hack looks cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:37 AM) :

Love her choice of clothes and the layering- her shoes don't fit the rest of the look- would prefer some short boots- besides I've done myself the thin socks- open sandals thingy and my toes kept slipping in front of the shoes and on the steet...really difficult to make more than 5 steps...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:41 AM) :

unnacessary call phone!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:04 AM) :

I love the way she looks. So cool and casual but very stylish at the same time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:13 AM) :

OMG -- both soooooooo gorgeous! Love the blues & grays... (-:

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (7:55 AM) :

I think her outfit is well put together, with the various shades of blue, the different patterns and weights of fabric. Moreover, everything fits very well. I agree with Dan 7:12 that I am not crazy about the shoes, but it may be the one item that pops. She sort of lost me on the bag, very Barnes & Noble, but I bet there is a reason! No comment on his outfit. Jorge from W Palm Beach

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:16 AM) :

Not sure about the short sleeved jacket, but really digging that flash of red sock!

Blogger sophia said ... (9:31 AM) :

Jefferson has a great sense of style always a little funky but still but together she always looks good as well

Blogger The Spicers said ... (11:05 AM) :

Jefferson and Anouk are such a handsome couple, the epitome of casual thrown-together chic. I love his suede wingtips and the short sleeve jacket is wonderful. Her jacket is fab too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:49 PM) :

hack loves those tom ford shades. he's rockin in every recent photo i've seen of him...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:33 PM) :

chic chic chic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:35 PM) :

Sorry but he doesn't look eccentric or urban or in any way stylish to me. Rather, simply a 'huh?' moment. Her ensemble is OK but nothing extraordinary. Nothing we haven't seen before and I will happily jump on the never-wear-nylons-with-open-toe-shoes bandwagon. I think commenters are confusing lovely human beings with style. Anouck Lepere certainly is a beautiful creature and as such elevates the clothes she wears beyond their actuality. But I could open a J. Crew catalog in any year and find this outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:35 PM) :

omg you guys must be kidding. just because they are CONSIDERED stylish doesn't mean they really are. don't you people have eyes? what the heck is stylish about this people? I mean, seriously, panty hose WITH SANDALS??? just because she's a model doesn't mean she can get away with everything.
i don't believe you think this is fashionable. i beleive that you saw it on the sartorialist and figured, hack+anouk+sartorialist= ubercool style WITHOUT EVEN THINKING.

Blogger miss sophie said ... (2:55 PM) :

i love this shot! it captures perfectly the moment, and it's cool how anouk and jefferson's body movements are in tandem like their ensembles. she looks so chic in her boxy blazer!

Blogger Olviya said ... (5:23 PM) :

i like the focus of the picture.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:19 PM) :

the bag is from Daunt Books, the fabulous travel book shop in London...

Blogger Watching You Without Me said ... (7:29 PM) :

are they talking to each other on the phone?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:58 PM) :

Is it possible that they're on the phone with each other, coordinating a meet and just didn't realize their proximity -- you know, they're meeting for a sleeves-rolled-up convention or whatever -- and this photo capture the very instant of their passing, yet they're distracted by the lens of the camera thus ships crossing in the night....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:16 PM) :

Hack is not wearing suede wing tips, but in fact lace-up brothel creepers, or just "creepers." The combination of bright red socks with black creepers is a classic '77-era punk/rockabilly look, especially combined with skinnyish [slightly drainpipe-esque] faded black jeans...

Blogger junglesiren said ... (12:53 AM) :

Love her (always love Anouk) until you get to the ankles. The shoes and panty hose don't work. She must have had something else on and just left them on for whatever reason.

Love both jackets and jeans.

Oooh, can't wait for the weather to get cooler her in sunny L.A. so I can dress like this.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:12 PM) :

they look like the style secret service.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 PM) :

...either that or they are radioing in to their respective spaceships.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:43 AM) :

doesn't any of u guys know Jefferson Hack?! Former editor-in-chief/founder of Dazed and Confused + Kate Moss exboyfriend whom she has the daughter Lila Grace with... If u guys don't know him I would recommend finding his pictures on style.com --> people and parties --> jefferson hack.

Not much u can say about these two, they are a coupple! and I, myself, think they look amazing! Jefferson is probably one of the best dressed men in the world.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:24 PM) :

do you that think they are talking to one another?

Blogger mimoleskineyyo said ... (3:11 PM) :

One life with one mobile...What Would they talk about?

Blogger aSmylie said ... (10:31 PM) :

Love the subtleties- the fishnet stockings worn with strappy stilettos and complimentary shades of blue.

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (8:17 PM) :

My friend Rebecca adds, "Toe-less stockings with open-toed shoes- how really awful is that?".

Blogger Ikemba Dalal said ... (11:59 PM) :

why is anouck so amazing?!
i love her!

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:06 AM) :

I love the woman's outfit, it's so unexpected! The scarf with a blazer, skinny jeans and a metallic shoes...very creative.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:58 AM) :

jeffeson hack and anouck lepore (sp?)by himself i wouldn't like his outfit but with her it compliments her outfit- which i really like. effortlessly casual and chic. doesn't hurt that she is gorgeous of course!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:30 PM) :

to anonymous... they aren't wing tips, they are what the old english teddy boys called brothel creepers...
you can still get them in carnaby street in london, and maybe the east village in nyc, maybe trash and vaudville...

Blogger CHRISELLE LIM said ... (5:33 AM) :

love their matching blazers.

love ur blog! i will be coming back for more!

xoxo
chriselle

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 AM) :

us belgians are very proud of anouck lepère. Her husband jefferson hack is also very talented and they look very casual chic in this picture!

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:57 PM) :

Why do all the models hang with Jamie Hince?
I love her mettallic shoes!

Blogger Joakim Nilsson said ... (11:08 AM) :

Love this picture

Blogger mortenmj said ... (12:07 PM) :

There are some good elements here, but overall, I think they both miss the mark a bit.
I like her scarf, and how it compliments her sweater. The colour of her sport coat is great as well, but it doesn't fit her. The breast pocket on the sport coat seems ridiculously high up as well, but that might be an illusion. Finally, wearing pantyhose and those shoes with the rest of the outfit is simply inexcusable. It pulls the outfit down considerably.

As for him, I'm not a fan of the rolled up sleeve at all, and the colour of the jeans does not go well with the colour of the sport coat. Other than that, I really like his shoes, and the fact that he's wearing a vest under there.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

Anouck Lepere and Jefferson Hack right? The look so good together and in there outfits. Love the short jacket.

Blogger PRGirlLondon said ... (7:43 AM) :

wrong Kate Moss boyfriend....it's Jefferson Hack, publisher of Dazed & Confused.

Blogger bug pin said ... (1:09 PM) :

Love her look!
I never realized until looking through your blog that "the phone" was such an important accessory in Euro countries. Blah-hate em.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:08 PM) :

French peole and there mobiles... Wait... Correction, EVERYBODY and their mobiles. Well, the woman looks pretty stylish with her skinny jeans and blazer, and I like that the man kind of matches.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:29 PM) :

Jefferson Hack and Anouck Lepore looking completely cool as usual.

Blogger Laura said ... (5:12 PM) :

she models for j.crew.
