Welcome. :)Coming to Sao Paulo?

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (6:53 AM) :

Wow! These photos are AMAZING! I'm loving your shots from Rio!
Are you having a good time is Brazil?

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (6:57 AM) :

Oh! And I forgot to say, Natalia Looks amazing in that pink dress!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:01 AM) :

natalia is the most beautiful woman alive!

Blogger Simone Rene said ... (7:16 AM) :

Love the pink interjections between the white clothing. Thank you for returning a bit of summer to us here in New York!

Blogger TMFA said ... (7:30 AM) :

Great great pictures, especially the pre-last one!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:40 AM) :

Absolutely STUNNING.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:41 AM) :

The fourth picture is so beautiful, full of color and movement....And I love all the bracelets in the third woman´s arms, and te way she mixes neutral pale colors is very elegant.

Someone in another post mentioned Santa Tereza. It really is a very beatiful and unique neighbourhood, usually compared to Paris´Montmartre. Its feels kinda like going back in time. It has a very romantic, bucolic and european atmosphere, and probably the most beautiful architecture in the city.

If you´re particularly interested in architecture, you should go to the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), in Aterro do Flamengo. The building is a landmark and the gardens are beautiful (not to mention the breathtaking view to the sugar loaf). While in Flamengo, take your time to see the French-Style buildings by the beach, facing the Sugar Loaf. Instituto Moreira Salles (gavea) is another architectural landmark, and it has a charming cafe by the pleasant garden.

If you want some seafood, Satyricon and Margutta are the places to go. Satyricon is a traditional international celebrity spot. Madonna, Sting and Baryshnikov are all longtime fans, and the food is to die for.

Have lunch in Celeiro (Dias Ferreira) at least once. Its located ate one of the city´s most charming streets, a street you cant miss. The restaurant is overpriced, overhyped, always packed and its a local celebrity spot, but the organic food is simply divine, and its a traditional meeting place for Leblon locals and fashionable people.

Try as many juices as you can in any of the many juice spots spread all around the city. Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Mango, Apple, you name it. They are all delicious. Healthy, colorful, refreshing.

Dont leave without trying some mate, a typical drink. Th colder, the better.

If you´re going to Lapa searching for some real samba, Estrela da Lapa and Rio Scenarium are two good options.

As someone mentioned before, sunday morning by the beach sidewalk might be a cliche, but its a must do. Its a great oportunity to see a very tipical sunday morning in Rio.You´ll see locals running, exercizing, working out, walking the dog, just passing by... If you´re staying in Arpoador, wear some confortable shoes and walk all the way to Leblon´s very end (Posto 12) and back. While you do it, you´ll pass by some of the most interesting beach spots, such as Coqueirão and Posto 9, both in Ipanema, and Leblon in front of Carlos Gois Street.

In case you´re having dinner in Carlota, try the goiaba soufle with catupiry cheese. It will bring happy tears to your eyes. The same goes for Quadrifoglio´s white chocolate mousse with passion fruit sauce.

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (7:55 AM) :

Beautiful shots. I like the simplicity of the first and last outfits, and of course the fourth is like a swirling watercolor. It looks, from your pictures, like you're enjoying yourself there!

I love that first dress on her. It has a bandage dress feel to it, but isn't so unforgiving as the acutal bandage dress. And the COLOR=AMAZING!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:20 AM) :

There is a chance that I am being really annoying, but I remembered something that may help me convince you to come to São Paulo: check the work of Renata Chebel. She makes photos of São Paulo night scene and the stylish crowd in it. You can find some os her pics in: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sp00/

Please don't post any more semi naked men pics... just kidding!!! eheheh

I had forgotten how lite and umcompromised summer fashion looked like in Brazil. Thank you sooo very much for your photographs.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:24 AM) :

Heart that pink dress! Wish I could pull that off.

Also the fluidity of that tie dye pink and black sari-inspired dress is fantastic. Beauteous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:24 AM) :

What beautiful pictures. I love when great looking items of clothing mesh with a person's lifestyle. Its like they help them live that lifestyle - the vibrant pink dress with a vibrant smile, the cool white tiered dress with a relaxed cool expression. They just work so well together!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 AM) :

love Natasha! she's always so adorable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:48 AM) :

BEAUTIFUL PICTURES FROM RIO !
"Bravo" !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 AM) :

I am dropping my current life and moving there right now ... blame it on Rio

Blogger Laura said ... (12:03 PM) :

the fourth picture is so romantic...the movement, the colors. it's pure artistry and a good example of the abstract painterly patterns we see on a lot of fabrics recently.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:03 PM) :

Perfect! Welcome!
Wednesday night Natalia was using Ipanema flats!

Blogger emily said ... (12:05 PM) :

3) Very Esther Ritchie
4) Was that designed by Uli from Project Runway 2 seasons ago?!?
5) "Now where the hell are Tom and Suri"?

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:37 PM) :

Wow, I loved seeing these! I hope you will post more of Brazil. The vivid color, even the white - and the aliveness is palpable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:25 PM) :

Natalia Vodianova! Nice to see her tan, relaxed. I also love seeing the capoeirista in white pants, he's probably on his way to a roda along the boardwalk :)

Blogger Johanne said ... (2:35 PM) :

Natalia! She's pretty in pink. That dress looks gorgeous on her...

Blogger Unibryce said ... (2:55 PM) :

Please Please tell me where that magenta dress comes from. GORGEOUS!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:11 PM) :

The girl in pink looks so natural and she is very pretty! The first lady in white looks relaxed but also chic, she combines the outfit very well and wear it with attitude. When I see the man I long for summer and lazy days on the beach! The white pants look so comfortable and the bag makes the outfit a little more exiting. These pictures are wonderfully and have a great atmosphere.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:16 PM) :

Brilliant pictures, thanks a lot! I love the colors on the 4th one!

Blogger Aussie said ... (3:28 PM) :

I absolutely love the second photo

-A

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

You have captured such a romantic, shimmering world in a few photographs. That pink! and the details - the layers of the little dress and the elegantly flowing tie-dyed dress in the breeze. Divine.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:15 PM) :

elle est sublime, Natalia. si réelle et naturelle, pour moi c'est ca la vraie beauté.
does anybody know what brand this fabulous dress is?

Blogger Hek said ... (4:36 PM) :

Hotness all over the place!

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (4:52 PM) :

GORGEOUS people, clothes & pictures! That penultimate picture is just beautiful! Love the flow & movement.

Blogger Ana Cristina said ... (4:59 PM) :

My country is so beatiful... and the way we dress... with colors, "bijous", the way we walk and everything is so different and new and at the same time elegant and so simple.

I really love my country

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:07 PM) :

natalia is the most beautiful human on the planet

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 PM) :

the pink dress was lovely! :) and the light in the photos is amazing!

Blogger Iñaki said ... (5:56 PM) :

The woman in white is a chic dream!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

I don' think people are realising that this was a runway show ...

Natalia & the other women being guests ... The blonde guy is male model Alex Schultz .... Brazilian but usually found in NYC & Europe ... Was completely nude in the most recent Tom Ford campaign ... So people, he is not just some random guy walking along the beachfront of Rio! lol

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:10 PM) :

The first photo blew me away.

Blogger Maggie May said ... (6:47 PM) :

Bonjour,

The pretty pink dress is just so sweet and lovely. This is a really beautiful set of images.

Merci, Zoé

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:52 PM) :

Anyone feel a bit of a Featherston vibe from the first shot? Also, I love the vivid colour in all of Sart's shots, but the grey sky really brings it out here.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:22 PM) :

Dude, you're either a genius, a lucky bastard or both. You have an the eye of a god. I see a book...........

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 PM) :

I guess what I love is your ability to get the shot. I keep trying to guess if they pose, if you pose them or if some are just candid! I remember taking this shot of a couple on the ferry from Venice to Murano. I of course wanted it to be candid. The picture I got is of the husband/boyfriend staring at me like he's going to chew my head off. It cured me of trying to take candid photos. Your work is truly remarkable. Thanks.
Paul

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:54 PM) :

love the 2nd & 3rd photos. I think white always brings out the character but not everybody can wear white is another issue. anyway, if one can carries it with the right attitute and accesories; tht will def turn the heads!

Blogger Holly Brindley said ... (11:58 PM) :

natalia's dress is so nice, the pearly shine of it reminds me of inside an abalone shell :)

Blogger Lisa B. said ... (12:09 AM) :

When are you going to start photographing everyday people again instead of these fashion and model-types? It was more inspiring to see these kinds of looks being worn in real life by "real" people...

Blogger s t a r m | s t said ... (1:35 AM) :

the first shot is very captivating. i can't stop staring at her!

Blogger Austin.Garnett said ... (3:25 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:10 PM) :

I love the fifth/white dress. Those tiers, and some sort of trim/edging adds dimension to the powdery white number. This color white reminds me of the walls painted decades ago but got sun bleached and weathered viewed in the cool shade. Epitome of chic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:00 PM) :

OMG I love it

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:04 PM) :

makes one yearn for summer again....

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:02 PM) :

perfeito!

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:49 PM) :

These are all very simple and effortlessly beautiful. I will say that I am glad to see them; my experience of Brazilian fashion was not this way at all. I was there during winter, and though not at all cold, I was decidedly discouraged by the number of unfortunately overdressed and overdone women and the lack of the beautiful clothes I had envisioned.

Definitely use the architecture as inspiration- from the Deco through the Modern heyday, Brazil's urban areas have phenomenal building and landscaping forms that I would love to see pop up here!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:09 PM) :

oooh, good pics, amazing styles, huh?!
absolutely great to know that you are at my country. brazilian people are beautiful with one of the most beautiful cultures :)
hope you take some pictures of paulistas girls (from São Paulo)
(a tip: in Paulista avenue you can find all kinds of styles, peoples, everything!)

How can I yearn for spring/summer when fall is only approaching?? How?! The pink dress--that's how!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:54 PM) :

These scantily clad, off-the-shoulder people look both amazing and totally alien. We put the clocks back not long ago, so it's officially winter in London - although it's been unofficially winter for most of the year. They remind me that a fashion statement can be as much about what you don't wear as it can be about what you do...Is hot the new cool?

Blogger Sanna said ... (6:15 PM) :

The flowing fabric and the blonde toned guy... Lovely. I can almost feel the breeze in my hair and the rhytm of Rio!

I like the variation of detailed photos and "normal" ones.
