These pants are popular in moscow huh. Great photo!

Blogger D. Debil said ... (9:52 AM) :

The strange crotchline in the purple one is jarring in this otherwise fabulous outfit.

I don't know what this garment is called, but I predict a very short shelf-life for this style outside of the native zones where this is traditional dress.

Blogger Dominica said ... (9:53 AM) :

wow ! Ab-So-Lu-Te-Ly beautiful !

In every kind of way -- the colours, that face - the way she looks, that attitude !!

Moscow is indeed very surprising ! Or are you just in Paris and testing us Sart ?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:53 AM) :

Such a beautiful girl. And such beautiful colours. But the jumpsuit is not beautiful. At least not with the blazer.

A pair of jeans would suffice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:54 AM) :

Very, very pretty. The jodpurs are perfect for her frame.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:54 AM) :

where do you see green? the m.c. hammer thing is purple and the scarf is blue. Is the jacket dark green velvet?

Blogger Sasha said ... (9:54 AM) :

my eyes are scanning up and down contemplating the shape and material of the jumper, but all i can really concentrate on are the oh-so-brilliant colours, that shade of purple, the bangles, the crispness of the blue scarf, and the elegant neutrality of the shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 AM) :

She looks great and fresh but I am a little bit disappointed - this is so not Moscow style!!!! She could be any girl from Paris to Amsterdam. I lived in Moscow for 4 years and I haven't seen much girls looking like that. I want real spirit of this crazy city!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:01 AM) :

the jumpsuit has a difficult cut, but she works it so well. and the colour/texture combination of the purple and blue is beautiful!! inspiring.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:02 AM) :

This woman appears poised and assured with her wonderful mix of rich sapphire and amethyst, gold and pewter. Wow, love this photograph.
The fluid styling of the outfit takes the scary out of the harem pants. Good thing she appears to be six feet tall.
What time of day do you shoot? Your lighting is always tender.

Blogger Mo said ... (10:02 AM) :

I noticed that too, dene. Only in this case, it's a hybrid of a jumpsuit and drop-crotch pants, which takes it to a whole new level :P

Blogger The Khaki Crusader said ... (10:07 AM) :

love the mysterious aura of her

Blogger MAJoR said ... (10:08 AM) :

I wasn't sold on the droppy pants look until now. If you're gonna do it, this is how it should be done. Great shot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:09 AM) :

Three years ago they were very fashionable in Buenos Aires, apparently the fashion arrived now at Moscow or returned again.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 AM) :

i'm not big on that kind of pant. colors fantastic. shot is beautiful.

Blogger marie said ... (10:14 AM) :

oh, she is gorgeous! i love the colours... is she wearing a kind of overall? great!

Blogger Miss Urbanita said ... (10:15 AM) :

Fantastic jumpsuit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 AM) :

She is so beautiful, as are the colors, and overall I like the outfit - just not the pants.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:22 AM) :

Hate the overall, but those colours! That face! That hair!

So she looks fabulous anyway:)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:31 AM) :

Beautiful..

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (10:35 AM) :

It's happened- drop-crotched pants that I think look good! I think the elongation resulting from it being a one-piece helps, as does the draping of these. Nice colors and accessories. The trim on the shoes echoing the gold of the bracelet and bag makes them relate nicely to the rest.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:36 AM) :

What's with the "change the diaper" look these days?

Blogger The Concrete Commentator said ... (10:37 AM) :

M.C. Hammer pant with a twist! Love the pant and the bag together. The shoes and the bracelets are fabulous. The jacket add's an interesting touch..not sure what to think about it. Background has a nice Autumn feeling. Nice photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 AM) :

I just love those shoes. /Michaela

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 AM) :

While I am definitely NOT a fan of the "harem" pant, she definitely wears it well and looks great. Love the bangles. And the gold bag is so eastern!

Blogger TEXTSTYLES said ... (10:45 AM) :

i need that jumper in my life
she is fierce, actually the embodiment of fierce
the colours and that clutch!
i die

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:48 AM) :

I haven't seen any gents from Moscow. Only french-styled girls. Sart, did you see anybody?

Blogger Andrew said ... (10:51 AM) :

While I enjoy the colors and subject of this photo, I have to say that this purple onesy looks like a giant saggy diaper.

Blogger May Kasahara said ... (10:53 AM) :

I love love love these colors

Blogger Marquis de Lannes said ... (10:58 AM) :

L'echarpe bleu, avec la tunique mauve, audacieux mais reusi!

Blogger Marquis de Lannes said ... (11:00 AM) :

L'echarpe bleu, avec la tunique mauve, audacieux et reusi!

Blogger Stephanie said ... (11:12 AM) :

The purple-violet-royal blue mix is so fresh, and what beautiful shoes! She's just gorgeous, too.

I'm wondering if these pants would be just the thing to disguise my short legs/long torso dilemma!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

Too much like a baby romper....i think the drop crotch look is okay if its punked up or worn tongue in cheek.....but it doesn't work if you try and pretty it up like this.....wrong fabric, jacket too smart etc.........just looks like an almost dress gone wrong..........

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 AM) :

Loved the other pants, but this is a fright to me. I have a thing against jeweltone colors together for some reason. One is enough per outfit.

Blogger Michelle Ann said ... (11:22 AM) :

Jumpsuit... noooooooo. But the colors are nice and she is beautiful.

Blogger Piztachio said ... (11:25 AM) :

lovely!

Blogger Shaynuh said ... (11:27 AM) :

I love the colors they all compliment one another! I <3 her scarf as well as the bangles she's sporting! :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:28 AM) :

Is the Moscow vibe a little somber, or is it just me?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 AM) :

I wish to see your photos taken in Istanbul. ı wish to see how my people looking with your eyes.

regards.
Ayse

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:42 AM) :

she is beautiful and has a personality adn attitude that come through so strongly.

diaper pants are just weird.

Blogger jkh said ... (11:45 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:45 AM) :

Anonymous @ 9:54: I believe he's referring to the green fence....

Blogger Wanderlusting said ... (12:04 PM) :

NOOOOO! Hammer pants invaded Moscow!

Loving the combo of purple and gold though, as well as purple and blue. Nice to know it can be done!

Blogger Steph said ... (12:13 PM) :

Yuck. I say no on the pant. But the colors are so lush, and the scarf is riiich. It's a really beautiful ensem when you ignore the saggy diaper thing going on.

And I love the shoes too.

Blogger Olviya said ... (12:21 PM) :

i love this gold clutch!

Blogger Margaret K said ... (12:32 PM) :

Love the shoes, and the colours are mesmerizing! Although I'm not quite fond of the jumpsuit, she wears it very well. Great shot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:34 PM) :

Oh? I'm native moscovite and interesting fashion. But! I've never in my life seen such pants.. And you found two hmmm... I must say all that shots you've made yet are not Moscow style. but they are stylish, no doubts.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 PM) :

What's up with the Hammerpants in Moscow?

Blogger maggie_hogan said ... (12:38 PM) :

i just can't make myself like those harem pants. they're not flattering or even bold, just silly looking

nice colors though

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

sorry, the green is where?

(i love the blue scarf with the purple jumper tho! awesome combination!)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

Man, these Russian girls are seriously beautiful. And they have a little bit of a sneer to them. I love it! She looks as if she knows how to walk in those heels. She presents herself very well. A model? Or just a pretty damn good photographer? Maybe both. Also, I like this color combo a lot, very deep hued and rich. Happy Halloween, Mr. Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

She is beautiful, but I still don't like the jumpsuit/pants. Like a friend said to me the other day: if you have beautifully-shaped thighs, why would you completely mask that? The colours here are exquisite though - even love the tone of the shoes against the jewel tones in the clothing -and I'm loving the hair cut. It's so great to see women with short hair. Makes me happy. Down with the idea that every woman should wear her hair long with blonde highlights...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

Gorgeous shot, gorgeous woman, gorgeous hair, gorgeous colors....but WHAT. IS. UP. WITH. THESE. PANTS. Anyone who thinks they do anything better than appear to be containing what fills a baby's diapers is fooling themselves. It's a seriously disturbing trend.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 PM) :

Why, why is such a beautiful woman wearing this jumpsuit???
Good choice of colors, tho. But still... it doesn't save the outfit. I am so glad I didn't see anyone wearing them when I was in Moscow in Nov and April.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:16 PM) :

I dunno about this.

Colors look great, so does hair, face, and clutch.....

That being said, the shoes make her ankles look sprained and bulged, and those pants/jumpsuit make her look either a) pregnant or b) like she has just soiled herself.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:19 PM) :

i am decidedly not a fan.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:30 PM) :

I never thought I would see the day that "Hammer Pants" would be back in style. They are not Too Legit and She needs to Quit wearing those.....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:31 PM) :

I don't think those are called harem pants.... Harem pants don't have that sort of dropped crotch and they have big billowy legs.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:31 PM) :

I would sure like to know what the 'real' people of Moscow are wearing...

Blogger Gia said ... (1:46 PM) :

i have to say i don't like it...the only thing i like is her bag!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:56 PM) :

these things look like the person stepped into a sweatshirt. eww. the colors are amazing, and she helps by being absolutely beautiful, but its hard to deal with the shape of these pants.

Blogger cami falcão said ... (2:00 PM) :

this is just great, Russian girls rock

Blogger Mushlya said ... (2:07 PM) :

great picture!
but this look seems very very fake to me.
I can hardly imagine walking around Moscow with bare ankles in October.....:-O

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 PM) :

think this more fluid fabric is making the hammer pant look a lot better than it could!
love the bangles. and the velvet

Blogger Alexandre A said ... (2:08 PM) :

She wears clothes as well as she's definitely hot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:08 PM) :

This picture could be from any European city.
Russian women in general do not dress like this.
They dress to look as sexy and expensive as possible.
Show us some of that !!
We are so used to understated luxury - we need to be shocked by something totally different : Russian style.

Blogger norawoah said ... (2:10 PM) :

She is fantastic, isn't she!?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

Wow they are not afraid of a drop-crotch pant in Moscow. I'm really feeling it though, and she's got all the proportions right. These women are all striking in an unconventional way.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:26 PM) :

wow...i know it's not a best style competition between cities, but regardless--i've gotta give it up for moscow.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:28 PM) :

Bonjour,

I love the attitude of this woman. She can definitely wear anything well. Although I do not like the fit of the pants. Lol.

Merci, Zoé

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 PM) :

very rare look on Moscow streets. she seems to be ready to go to some party...
It's hard to find these looks, good work, Sart!

Blogger Miguel said ... (2:39 PM) :

I have to say I love the combination of colors and the contrast in the colors of the shoes.

Blogger Laura said ... (2:43 PM) :

the pant makes her look like she's hidden a diaper in there... but otherwise a beautiful, striking outfit!

Blogger John-Bryan Hopkins said ... (2:44 PM) :

WONDERFUL.

SUCH A FRESH LOOK

THE HAIR IS GREAT TOO.

VERY PRINCESS DI 1982

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:00 PM) :

Can you spell MC Hammer? When did those pants come back into fashion? And how soon can we get them to go away again?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:19 PM) :

anyone know what her shoes are?

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:21 PM) :

the drop-crotch pants are one of my least favourite fashion items, but perhaps I'm just a sucker for rich purples because I don't find this outfit offensive to my eyes. I enjoy it and the juxtaposition of the pastel green fence and the length at which it hits her. It helps with the proportion of her outfit :) I just can't focus on the waist down alone :) It's a strong, yet fun look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:24 PM) :

The jewel-colored purples and blues are amazing. I love her bangles and shoes, and her hair!!! But I am definitely in the anti-baggy-jodhpur-ish-jumpsuit crowd. Also, there seems to be some texture from underneath the jumpsuit showing through at the hip -- it should be smooth there, not texture-y.

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:31 PM) :

I'm just thinking of the impracticality of a jumpsuit like this. def not for those with a weak bladder (sorry). As many have said though, I love the colours and her face is super intriguing but I just don't think the harem pant is flattering.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:40 PM) :

This is a woman who is able to display her idea of SEXY!!!! Love.

Blogger Breathless said ... (3:44 PM) :

I love all the rich colours!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:05 PM) :

Fabulous!!!!!!! from head to toe. I love everything about this woman, I was beginning to worry about fashion in Moscow. I love these pants

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:14 PM) :

Oh no! escape the killer-drop-crotch!!!

lovely colours, pretty girl...but the pants!!

Blogger Andromeda said ... (4:29 PM) :

the richness of the colors is amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:43 PM) :

the colors are lovely, confident pose, great lighting... but the purple thing gives a whole new meaning to "dress pants."

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:20 PM) :

Love the colors.

Great photo - purple against the green fence - love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:23 PM) :

jumpsuit = heinous

nice colors though.

Blogger Rakel said ... (5:27 PM) :

I like so much those colours together!

Blogger crystal said ... (5:34 PM) :

Interesting outfit, but the colors are beautiful, beautiful!

Blogger shemtov said ... (5:49 PM) :

it takes talent to make those pants look modern like that! shes got it going on here.. im also surprised how she made so much jewelry not look so overbearing!
the bag is pretty nice but the tuxedo jacket is my favorite part. she matched herself up so beautifully. well done!

Blogger Brigadeiro said ... (5:49 PM) :

OMGosh, how amazing! The rich purple, and the drape of the piece, contrasted with the strict velvet blazer & blue scarf is just stunning! And top it off, that large gold clutch & shoes! I'm in awe! LOVE this!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:26 PM) :

I can't imagine the "drop crotch" catching on for too long, if at all. On the other hand, if people can get over how it looks, I wonder if it would hide my thighs well?

Blogger Petulia said ... (6:39 PM) :

Now, this is a killer look! Love the shoes and the draping of the trousers. The gold is great, especially when paired with the blue + purple.

Blogger Bluetramontana Style said ... (7:03 PM) :

intense...

Blogger aviewaskew said ... (7:11 PM) :

the shot transcends the 'pants'..she is stunning.

Blogger Ivy Lane said ... (7:34 PM) :

She's a beauty..colors are great, love the shoes.. can't get with the low crotch thing going on there...Want her hair style!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:09 PM) :

It's interesting somehow. I just don'think it flatters her at all.
But she is pretty and has great hair :]]

Blogger Melissa said ... (9:05 PM) :

the colors compliment each other so much... pants are to die forr

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 PM) :

I'm tired of people expecting women's fashion to be about what flatters the figure and shows off the body. It's very refreshing to see women wearing clothes as art pieces rather than falling back on proving how thin or toned or traditionally beautiful they are. This is a very cool and defiant look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 PM) :

The all-in-one gives the appearance of a dress over tight pants. I couldn't wear it myself, but this woman obviously can.

Your Moscow pictures are a revelation: individual and creative with a literary imaginativeness that conjures up all sorts of very Russian tales. More please!

Blogger Cammila said ... (11:00 PM) :

I'm impressed that these pants aren't wearing her. She has the presence to pull this off.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:38 PM) :

I have to say, when I first saw the saggy pants on the blog (on vanessa traina in paris & on the graphic designer in moscow) I thought they were bizarre. They diminished the women's curves and looked somewhat macabre. But these...they are lush. The color, the texture, the fabric and the outfit ooze femininity. Great eye, Sarto!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:22 AM) :

I am sorry, but this getup is bleak. Who said pants like these are okay? They are not okay!!

Cute shoes, though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:52 AM) :

After seeing these four Moscow girls I understand why Slavic (Russian, Polish, Czech, etc) girls dominate the modelling industry. They are absolutely the most beautiful women in the world.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:13 AM) :

if you're interested about the weather in Moscow, it's about 10-13degrees centigrade. so she is not freezing :)
P.S.: we're dying to hear your comments on Moscow style, Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:36 AM) :

So many different elements, and I love it!
The drapy purple garment is beautiful and her sharp cut hair is amazing...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:58 AM) :

Oh...not those pants again. Surely they look even more unflattering from behind. However, the colors are stunning together, and I do love the shoes.

Blogger Siru said ... (8:01 AM) :

Gorgeius hair!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

i love how the golden leaves, the golden clutch, the golden hair, the gold-trimmed shoes altogether create a very unified composition. great shot.

those colors work marvelously together. as do the textures. she works this look so well!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:17 PM) :

my favorite outfit this week.
i agree, the jumpsuit is odd, but it works for some reason.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:35 PM) :

ooh, I love this. She pulls it off very well!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:20 PM) :

A gorgeous woman, but I can't stand that purple jumpsuit or whatever it is. I'd love to see more of her, though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:20 PM) :

show us the real russia!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:32 PM) :

To the anonymous commenter who wrote, "I'm tired of people expecting women's fashion to be about what flatters the figure and shows off the body. It's very refreshing to see women wearing clothes as art pieces...": I do notice that a woman like this need not worry so much about flattery. Some of us, however fabulous we are, need more help from our clothes and probably couldn't do "art" justice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:13 PM) :

Love the colors in the shot - the blue/purple outfit against the green fence; the gold at her hands and feet and gold leaves in the trees at her face.

Blogger melur said ... (11:50 PM) :

nice match!

Blogger Mary-Nelson said ... (2:26 AM) :

the jumpsuit that everyone is referring to is junya watanabe or inspired by. nothing new, and always appropriate when worn by the right person, which is the case here.
i think that the point is that she, the proportion of her look, and the background make for a great composition as a whole photography-wise.

Blogger Cheltenhamdailyphoto said ... (5:31 AM) :

Beautiful - on her. This girl could wear anything, clearly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:10 AM) :

Lovely colour combination.
But why does she have the scarf wrapped around her neck, as if the weather asked for wamth, if she is not going to wear any socks?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:01 AM) :

I love that color! Purple is my favorite and this purple just scream at you in a very positive way. But I'm unsure of how much I liked the jumpsuit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:24 PM) :

I don't like the purple jumpsuit-thing.
Still, I think she's very pretty and the outfit is very well put together.
And I love how she's wearing blue, gold and purple bangles that match the other clothes exactly!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:42 AM) :

Love it, love it. I'm entranced & envious simultaneously.

The green tint is from her suede (or velvet?) shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:05 AM) :

I LOVE those shoes! And this is the first look I've seen in which I really like these pants... she really pulls it off!

Blogger Wilhelm Carñes said ... (11:31 AM) :

The crotchline is wrong for her, and generally, anyone. And the shoes, jewelry and handbag look cheap. The scarf is too large. And her haircut keeps with the strangeness. Altogether, more awkward than appealing.

Blogger Hek said ... (8:23 PM) :

The girl looks beautyful and all, but the way this photo is taken and the background makes this art. What a gorgeous moment.

Blogger Cassaundra said ... (1:40 AM) :

the shape she created is so original & lovely.
her hair is quite cute, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:51 AM) :

Girl! Rock on!!! Damn, this takes big ones to pull off in Moscow. Big props on attitude and brilliant colour intuition. You look STUNNING!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:51 PM) :

.....Wow she is beautiful, and the colors and lighting enhance her shiek style. I like that jumpsuit and the shoes are pretty hot!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:37 PM) :

I love this in fact Perhsaps my favorite. I mean look at the color, texture and backdrop. She has incredible style, from bangles to shoes!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 PM) :

I love how the jewel tones work together with the gold bag and chunky bangles but the outfit just seems strangely structured esp the jumpsuit...

Blogger Stacy said ... (1:59 PM) :

love it. the shoes kill.

Blogger greennail79@naver.com said ... (8:03 AM) :

i love it so much.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:59 PM) :

just wanted to leave a bit of an observational comment about the comments. I find that when judging outfits from, say, NY, or Paris, people simply judge the outfit, how the person is wearing it.. etc. However, when I read people's comments about all the photos from Moscow, a lot of cultural (often misguided or ignorant) references, attitudes, expecations come to affect how people see the outfit.
Oh and by the way, drop crotch is very in right now here in Sydney too, it's been on the runways since the fall - hence WHY you are seeing in in Moscow - not because like some put it, Russians have "an eastern infulence", that's a bit laughable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:21 AM) :

I love the shoes!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:41 AM) :

I WANNA MEET THE GAL.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:34 PM) :

the harem pant doesnt get to me, but the jumpsuit factor does... other than that I really dig this
