Carved out of--what? But meant for the ages.

Many ages.

His youth is perfectly captured here. He'll never be this young again.

Be THIS again.

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:26 PM) :

the texture and color of his hair along with his classic oval face would be a delight to paint....i just may...thank you for the inspiration, as always.

If only we could buy hairstyles (regardless of our hair-typology) to match out style.

Where did you find the fellow? I'm quite envious of how you're constantly surrounded by eye-catching people on the streets.

Blogger penny lane said ... (7:31 PM) :

He reminds me one of the main characters of the french movie "Water drops on burning rocks", directed by Francois Ozon. Great movie by the way!

beautiful shot of a gorgeous model, nothing fashionable going on though *shrug*

Blogger 1 said ... (11:38 PM) :

It's not always about the clothes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 AM) :

You have no idea how much it means to have a picture of a redhead guy get so many positive remarks.

Redhead for life!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:28 AM) :

I used to have red curly hair that went all the way to my hips.
- I thought it looked to special, but I really miss it now.
Red is harder to pull of as a man, but he looks beautiful and fragile and so intense

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:36 AM) :

cute

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:29 AM) :

who is him?
i think i am fall in love

Blogger Cherry Tree Wood said ... (8:28 AM) :

this picture is over sensitive!

Fragile, slightly angry...deep faraway look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:31 AM) :

David Brunier is a model, not a dancer. His eyes are actually blue, hard to tell from this photo.

Sart: How do you use natural light to such great effect?! It must require a lot of trust from your subjects.

Blogger Sally Christina said ... (11:20 AM) :

Insatiable...you can't buy colour like his!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

It is interesting how many people used the word BEUTIFUL. yes, that is what he is, handsome is not the right word for this kind of beauty.

Blogger Katarina Kühl ~ PencilFashion said ... (1:03 PM) :

adoring.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 PM) :

oooooh he NEEDS to be a model. wow.

Blogger Aziza said ... (6:26 PM) :

What a striking man...this shot of him is brilliant :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 PM) :

He is gorgeous. Wow

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:28 PM) :

Unbelievable. He looks like he should be in a Renaissance painting. Red has always been my favourite hair colour on men. Auburn will do also, of course. :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:13 AM) :

Ratatouille?? I think so. http://pegpeg.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/ratatouille-foto1.jpg

Blogger Suzy said ... (2:15 AM) :

Like a less silly version of the character in Ratatouille?

Blogger Giulia said ... (7:36 AM) :

he's the guy version of the "those dancing days" singer. he's face is so artistic.

Blogger Landis said ... (9:49 AM) :

he's like tilda swinton
and james franco's
love child.

hot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:59 AM) :

Although I don't have such beautiful red hair, I have the same texture of hair, and it is difficult to get a cut such as this that doesn't frame my face and make me look too...cherubic. also, his look would be so different if he had pronounced facial hair.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:44 AM) :

love

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:02 AM) :

um...hello, Dorian Gray!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 PM) :

looks like the guy from Ratouille.

Blogger Jamie Welsh Watson said ... (1:18 PM) :

Amazing portrait, Sart.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:42 PM) :

I have red hair (I'm a girl) and it's nice to see a red-headed guy working his hair without shame.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

Why so serious?

Blogger pretty said ... (5:06 PM) :

We could have gorgeous french red-headed babies, me and him ;)

Blogger Jaime said ... (6:01 PM) :

Wow. That is an incredibly arresting picture. A serious work of art.

Blogger Jeffrey Byrnes said ... (6:08 PM) :

Joel Meyrowitz would very much love this photograph, as he did a body of work on Red Heads. Great portrait.

Daywalker.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:00 AM) :

What a beautiful young man. He belongs as a statue in Greece.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:44 AM) :

Flâneuse watched the boy from the painting. The boy was solemnly assessing his coiffure, a mane unparalleled in Flâneuse’s interested observation. The boy from the painting darted his hands in, around, and out of the flames atop his crown, in a sudden movement that spoke of necessary restraint in taking his hair from unruly to half-tamed. Such hair must be treated as the finest pastry, the moment between perfection and destruction could rest in a fleeting pat. The boy from the painting rested his hands, and glanced at Flâneuse in the glass. Flâneuse rose slowly from the frame and brushed her own tail of flames around the boy’s ankle as they finished his toilet for the day.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:26 AM) :

He could be Tilda Swinton's son! Gorgeous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:49 AM) :

what a pretty boy

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:17 PM) :

ohmygod. his so hot

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:30 PM) :

Blogger furia said ... (10:35 PM) :

Thank you very much for this shot. Is perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:56 AM) :

i wonder if he knows hes a god? this boy is so cute, so casual, and yet something sophisticated comes across in his eyes. i wonder if he is trying to look serious/sad or if that is his true personality. either way he should rejoice in his good fortune to be born a man, in europe, with such amazing features. im sure he could get whatever man or woman he wants :)

Blogger O!Lightning said ... (12:27 PM) :

OH YES!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 PM) :

I wish i had vibrant red hair, white skin, and freckles. He is wonderful ^.^

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:29 PM) :

I think it's pretty disingenuous to say "on the street" when you are taking a picture of a model, especially a picture where it's not about the outfit they out together, but their pure beauty. When I see "on the street" I don't expect to see professionals at looking good, but the unknowns. I think it would be more fair if you would label when you are choosing someone from the fashion industry to feature and when you are truly photographing someone "on the street."

Blogger kissy k said ... (3:59 PM) :

what a beautiful young man!!! there needs to be more positive images of redheads so.......fantastic!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:17 PM) :

Very interesting character, i like it....

Blogger Isabelle said ... (6:40 AM) :

i'm breathless

Blogger The Sartorialist said ... (8:14 AM) :

mdesiree
i did shoot this guy "on the street" in the same manner i shoot everyone - his background in a dirty delivery truck.

whether it is clothes, hair, posture I will shoot whatever inspires me.

Blogger miss sophie said ... (10:44 AM) :

as fey and arresting as can be... :)

Blogger Sara L. said ... (1:49 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:59 PM) :

oof. this beauty hurts!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

Definitely a dancer...looks like he's wearing ballet getup.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:20 PM) :

i can't tell if it's a guy or a girl

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:16 AM) :

he totally looks like the guy from ratatouille!!

Blogger Jen Renninger said ... (2:29 PM) :

This is just so beautiful. Sometimes your pictures feel as if they are movie stills, just waiting for someone to press play so we can keep following the story line.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:11 AM) :

i love it. his facial expression shows calmness yet he has almost a silent power to him.. and his red hair its amazing. i wish i had hair like him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:18 PM) :

the boy is gorgeous. Interesting. I love red head guys.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:51 AM) :

Dorian Gray.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:33 AM) :

Oh, it's a crimson tide, and my fingers are ready to set sail.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:24 PM) :

Stunning!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:20 PM) :

i love this picture, and while i agree with the masses that he is incredibly good-looking, i think it is a testament to your photographic eye that you chose to shoot him. i have a feeling that if i saw him on the street in the marais, he wouldn't look as distinct or stunning.
also, he looks a bit like the male version of gemma ward: fifteen and slightly alien-like.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:52 AM) :

reminds me of Michelangelo's "David"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:38 PM) :

envoutant.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:00 AM) :

I surfed here a couple days ago, and now had to come back just to see him. He's like all of worlds chocolate cake combined in one. I'd give him a home any day.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:09 AM) :

He should be a model

Blogger Megan Whittaker said ... (3:19 PM) :

what a beautiful redhead

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 PM) :

Without doubt one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful person ever to be photographed by you. There are no words for this creature.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:34 AM) :

i have to go to paris
just 1500 km :D
he's amazing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:19 PM) :

He looks just like one of my two brothers...

(damm, I have straight hair)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:10 PM) :

I thought this was a woman, but either way, I really like *his* hair...red hair is such a rare color (seriously, i don't even know 1 natural redhead) so it looks so exotic and beautiful when i see it.--sidra.

Blogger mademoiselleb said ... (12:00 PM) :

He has such an interesting face, he should be a model.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:53 PM) :

does anyone know his name? he's definitely a model. was in the yoji yamamoto spring09 show i think. the most perfect looking person!

Blogger ren said ... (4:34 PM) :

he looks like the painting on the cover of "The Picture of Dorian Grey" by Oscar Wilde. he's got that vain, almost evil, look to his pretty face.

Blogger Ben1980 said ... (6:14 AM) :

Wow He is beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:06 AM) :

this is David Brunier. he's beautiful but I think he needs to gain some weight. he looks a little too adolescent...I love the red hair though!
