Blogger willie norris said ... (5:27 PM) :

possibly one of my favorite looks. i love how he's wearing flip flops.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:40 PM) :

Not sure where the macho comes in (maybe it applies more to his personality than his appearance!) but this guy certainly looks pretty hot to me! Love the simplicity, love the hair and beard.

Blogger Jilly Pfifferling said ... (5:40 PM) :

I love this guy. Attitude all the way.

But also the precise moment that Sart captured is perfection!!

Blogger emed0s said ... (5:47 PM) :

Looks like one of the bosses in "The IT Crowd" ... lol

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:49 PM) :

just fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:53 PM) :

He looks cool and simple. Gorgeous! Rawwwwrrr!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:05 PM) :

It's a nice look, but the only way I see it being macho is in a YMCA, macho, macho man kinda way.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:21 PM) :

love the shorts

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:26 PM) :

Am I the only one that just hates flip flops on men, outside of the beach? Don't you think loafers would look far superior here?

Blogger Scot Meacham Wood said ... (6:33 PM) :

good mercy . . . . now THAT is a marvelous look. love the shorts, love the ascot, love the flips, love the shot.

Blogger Linda said ... (6:43 PM) :

I'm surprised to see an Italian wearing flip flops on the streets of MILAN! That's a first. Great look though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:17 PM) :

he's brazilian vogue editor

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:19 PM) :

Fabrizio! It's nice to see he's toned down the pretentious affected look he's known for. He looks sharp. Good for you Fabrizio! Now if only we could get him to change his haircut.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:25 PM) :

Linda, he is not italian... far as i know Fabrizio is Brazilian...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:03 PM) :

He's very nice from the knees, but instead if the flip-flops adding a quirky touch, they look lazy and bring the look down a bit. Sorry, but no.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:08 PM) :

flip flops < espadrilles.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:16 PM) :

I'm curious if this shot is staged?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:29 PM) :

My dear,
I totally agree with you! They (italians) don´t!
He does because he is not italian... he is brazilian and lives in São Paulo.
Usually (we) brazilians know how to use flip flops...
After all, Brazil exports HAVAIANAS for the entire world!
We have the know how! ;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:34 PM) :

It's August, and he's better off at the beach in that.

Blogger john said ... (8:41 PM) :

This is my summer look, but naturally, it doesn't look this wonderful. I love wearing a long sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up matched with khaki shorts and moccasins and a leather belt. I'm not sure I can make the ascot work for me - in NYC. Milan, yes; US, probably not.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:48 PM) :

My dear,
I totally agree with you: they (italians)don't !
But he does, because he is brazilian (he lives in São Paulo)and usually brazilians know how to use flip flops...
After all, Brazil exports HAVAIANAS for the entire world!
We have the know how! ;-)

Blogger t does wool said ... (8:54 PM) :

he has it all together...yes,he does!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 PM) :

The flip-flops are hardly unheard of in Italy, but indeed it is quite unusual to see them being worn someplace other than the beach. When I made my first trip to Italy (Firenze in August; oh, the humidity!), my ubiquitous-in-SoCal flip-flops drew more than a few puzzled looks. :) I have since learned to select more appropriate footwear; when in Rome...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:01 PM) :

Fabrizio is my neighbour here in Brazil ! he is not an italian using flip flops... he is great.

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (9:04 PM) :

Aside from the neckerchief he could look like anyone on the street; The catcher is that other people on the street don't look like this- at least not here.
It could be argued that this is simply the way smart people walk about town. Yeah, I like that!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:13 PM) :

Flip Flops? Havaianas from Brazil!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 PM) :

He has a great beard and a great style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 PM) :

Take that Glenn O'brien! (regarding his comments about flip flops)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:38 PM) :

what i want to know is what's in the bag?!

Blogger Karen said ... (9:52 PM) :

I'm glad that's a scarf at his neck and not a gold chain. Nice selections for casual attire. So much better than the faded t-shirt and baggy shorts that's the standard uniform for young males around here. Yet nearly as comfortable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:54 PM) :

shorts as they should be worn, and love, love the ascot - wish he'd gone for a more casual belt though

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:57 PM) :

some how the flip flops don't look out of place with this outfit. in fact, they sort of make the outfit stand out. wierd.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 PM) :

nice.
what I like most is the way he looks natural and in his own skin, compared to the previous shots of him, which, although more unique looked too staged.
I forget the exact wording, but the saying goes something like "pick what you wear with much care, and then wear it as if you did not".
This one hits the mark!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 PM) :

Not a big fan of the flip flops (should be driving loafers or espadrilles--like the others said). Great color choices...this guy has the look down, in spite of the shoes. He looks really natural to me.

Blogger natalia said ... (11:42 PM) :

so. well. put. together.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:57 PM) :

Fabrizio looks chicly dangerous!

Blogger thwany said ... (12:31 AM) :

i wish i could grow a beard like his

Blogger Mira Vales said ... (1:04 AM) :

I completely agree with the look. Keep it clean and simple baby, although - not that sure if my idea of a 'macho man' includes the big shopping bag;)Otherwise - perfection in simplicity.

Blogger nyc/caribbean ragazza said ... (1:11 AM) :

love it except for the flip flops. It could be because before moving to Rome I lived in L.A. for 10 years where people think it's okay to wear flip-flops, t-shirts and shorts everywhere.

Blogger Sublime Hallucinations said ... (1:45 AM) :

The scarf definitely adds that extra something.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:55 AM) :

good look lose the damn flip flops unless he's going to the beach or is around a pool.

Blogger Sonya Worthy said ... (3:12 AM) :

I think it's the black belt that makes the flip flops work. Without it, I think he'd need something else, but still, no socks.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:32 AM) :

the comment about being better with loafers...
how could someone who reads this blog not realize that the reason this photo shows great personal style is because he is NOT wearing loafers. ARGG
sometimes the comments in this blog kill me (but the photos never disappoint).

Blogger Unknown said ... (3:49 AM) :

Macho Man? hahhahahhaa...Love the flip flops, the shorts and the shirt. Great choice for his neck...casual and formal. Cool.

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:04 AM) :

i love the detail on his pockets - those shorts are such a beautiful colour and texture. and he's got such wonderful colouring for the colour combination of scarf and pale shirt. i like this a lot more than the last look i saw him in - but for some reason i still keep expecting him to disappear into a late-nineteenth century carriage to rescue a damsel in distress.

for me his masculinity, or his "macho" quality is very retro still - maybe not what a lot of other people have come to see as such though.

Blogger Mr. Fletcher said ... (4:11 AM) :

Main problem with flip-flops in Milano is that if you ever walk on the streets for more than 3 minutes your feet get an ugly, dirty black.

Usually i don't like flip-flops beside on sea resorts, but they look kinda good in this guy outfit.

Espadrillas? eeeeeeeew
Please, please, please!
i thought we left them in the 70's...

And yes, like an anonymous said, this looks macho in a very, very, very village people way...

Not there's anything wrong with it.

M

Blogger Mr. Fletcher said ... (4:14 AM) :

Oh, btw, Linda, there's a lot of people wearing flip-flops here in Milano. Unfortunately to much worse effect than this guy.

Last year they were all the rage, this year they're a little less "in".

M

Blogger Olviya said ... (4:29 AM) :

yes, I agree with other bloggers - flip flops are very stylish detail to his general look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:47 AM) :

Chilly cool. He has a pirate look in the classical sea-faring way. Especially the scarf and flip-flops, combined with the beautiful watch make him really interesting. He looks like he can think of many other things besides what to wear.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:24 AM) :

i really want to add a few neckerchiefs to my wardrobe, where do i find them?

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (7:47 AM) :

He is so elegant!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:48 AM) :

Simple and sophisticated. Fabrizio looks like a very self-assured yet charming man.

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (7:52 AM) :

I wish I could pull off that neckwear... One thing that comes to my mind is how flip-flops/Havaianas may be for younger guys. I find myself wearing them less and less; after all, you never know what/whom you are going to run into, and even though you want to be fresh and relaxed, you still want to be more presentable. Jorge from W Palm Beach.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:18 AM) :

His beard is the ulimate accessory !! Might this be a Fall 08 trend?? I sure hope so

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:36 AM) :

he is a bit austere for his age.

Blogger so said ... (11:02 AM) :

his look is perfect for summer...

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:08 AM) :

Has a real Hemingway, young "Old Man and the Sea" vibe. I dig it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:43 AM) :

OK. I got it, I totally got it. Now to find the right shorts.

Blogger J.P. said ... (12:28 PM) :

This guy looks awesome. I am not sure I would change a single thing about his look.

Blogger Richard said ... (12:53 PM) :

I like this man and his look.

Blogger The Domina said ... (1:04 PM) :

This is great for me until the flip flops! Why won't they die? There are so many other lovely choices in footwear these days!

Blogger Milena said ... (1:32 PM) :

A man with fabulous facial hair like that deserves applause.

Bravo!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:37 PM) :

That man is HOT.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:07 PM) :

He really looks good. I am not a fan of flip flops or beards. However, he makes this work and is truly wonderful to look at.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:17 PM) :

there's plenty to nitpick here - the footwear, the mismatched leathers (watchband and belt), the stuffed pockets. to those of us who don't live in GQ advertisements, however, the look is natural and stylish. though, I really do wish he had forgone the flip-flops.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:22 PM) :

I'm loving the beard and the hair. Very handsome indeed and I heart the scarf and the flip flops.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:32 PM) :

How strange combination for us (brazilians)!!!

For us "Havaianas" are to much, very... very... popular. But he is really gourgeuos. How beautiful face and all his style!!

Blogger Jeffrey Byrnes said ... (6:00 PM) :

The garment around his neck strikes me as odd for mens fashion. I am not to familiar with that look. However, it has me thinking that it is a look for this year. I have seen a number of women wearing scarfs around their necks these past summer months. Either way I like his look, regardless of the neck apparel.

Blogger Dats said ... (10:55 PM) :

ilove it! ifimnot mistaken he got lots of pics here somewhere....KUDOS!

Blogger cami falcão said ... (9:05 AM) :

macho man? really? ahahha....for me Fabrizio looks like the opposite a 'macho' should look like.
his beard is great though, and Havaianas always rock!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:03 AM) :

sometimes when i browse through the comments on this blog i have to fight an overwhelming urge to go and put on flip flops right away - just to rebel against the predictable flip flop haters. Maybe this is an australian thing. but i don't think never wearing flip flops automatically gives you good style. that would be like saying wearing head to toe chanel or worse, carrying the latest "it" bag gives you instant good style. rant over.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 AM) :

He´s brazillian, so the flip flops make a lot of sense.

Brazillians know how to handle flip flops better than anyone anywhere in the globe.

Blogger Keisha Kornbread said ... (1:35 PM) :

He could get it!!

I love how casual he looks.

Blogger bobbbyg said ... (5:53 PM) :

this works anywhere and, please, there absolutely is a place for flip flops and this is it. almost perfect take on the summer uniform.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:18 PM) :

This brazilian is so Hot!
He´s Vogue Brazil Editor.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:51 PM) :

I really can't tell you how much this photo intrigues me. Every time I come here, I just stare at this picture.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:39 PM) :

Bravo!!!!! this guy knows what time it is. I had seen this guy in others pictures and he got a great sence of style.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:47 AM) :

a little bit rough and absolutly delicious...i wish he was MY neighbour!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:38 PM) :

I'm brazilian and say: Fabrizio looks like great, in Brazil or in Italy... Congratulation Fabrizio!!!

Blogger Kat Walks said ... (7:17 AM) :

he looks a bit like a roman warrior. i feel like going on this blog for me is 60% checking out hot men, 30% admiring the photogaphy and the rest is actually about the fashion.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:02 PM) :

I love seeing this guy on the blog, he's smokin'. Love the weird details others declare "over the top;" love those bold, dark eyes framed by bold, dark brows; love the almost cartoonish hair. Yay, Fabrizio!

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:17 PM) :

love the whole look! i'm sure his persona has a lot to do with it. however, i think different footwear would have brought it all together better.

Blogger I ♥ You said ... (4:00 PM) :

random but he looks like a grizzly jim from the office.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:18 PM) :

He is crushing it. That's a good thing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:26 PM) :

about the only time I've seen a man wear flip flops in the city and manage to look pulled together ..... he looks great!

Blogger Stratos Bacalis said ... (9:21 AM) :

Love the whole look - still not able to find a decent neckerchief in Greece. Flip flops are ubiquitous during summer in cities as well in Greece due to heat and humidity.

Blogger Steve said ... (8:51 PM) :

Great summer look! I use a similar look regularly, although it looks much better on him :(

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:25 PM) :

the bag is from carshoes...probably full of driving loafers

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:43 PM) :

Frabrizio arrasando!!!!!!!!

Blogger Alex Palma said ... (5:03 PM) :

Fabrízio sinônimo de elegância...

Blogger Yanti and Richard said ... (9:51 PM) :

Oh God! Why didn't he put the car shoes (thanks 8:25pm) in that bag on?? Perfect 'cept for the flip-flops.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:01 AM) :

i don't particularly like this look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:31 AM) :

FLIP flops should only be worn in the beach where the sandy floor makes a good support on your feet. Otherwise it is not advisable to wear them on pavements or hard surfaces, this aside from the fact that you can get all the filth, germs and diseases on the street.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:53 PM) :

I love this out fit for a guy and it does look manly!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:44 PM) :

this is how men should wear shorts, if they must. absoutely no shorter. this man really perfects it here!

Blogger nidyawiguno said ... (5:18 AM) :

he's outfit reminds me to a sailor hahaha. but it's so stylish actually :) or should i say.. a stylish sailor? :D nah, just kidding! hahhaa

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:54 PM) :

This is how a man should look in shorts. Masculinity is not dead just yet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:59 PM) :

Fabrizio RULEZZZZ!!! He is fantastic! He is just fascinating, there is something about him... (sigh). Seriously, I could just stare!
