Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:45 AM) :

despite the relaxed quirkiness of his previous look I have to say that his look is very much improved. the last picture the clothes look very light and fresh.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:50 AM) :

My favorite is the bottom picture. It's so summery!

Blogger Barbara said ... (8:50 AM) :

This is amazing to see. What does he do now versus then?

Blogger Baking With Plath said ... (8:53 AM) :

Wow, what a difference two years can make! He looks especially great in the most recent photos. I love his style.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (8:55 AM) :

He looks fabulous. Love the tan and navy in the third shot - a lovely combination. He looks serene.

Blogger Sean Santiago said ... (8:58 AM) :

I hope that when winter rolls around he goes back to looking like a Native American ranch hand, but in the meantime I can definitely appreciate his more polished, summery style.

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (9:01 AM) :

It would seem like the first outfit would take a long time to put together- the items are not something you can just pick up at a store or through a stylist- vintage-done-well takes serious work! The last two outfits, for me, are the classic example of how quickly we get used to the good stuff if we get it once! I bet once this gent tried on a fine suit, he wanted to wear nothing else- brings to mind a Loro Piana cashmere blazer I found at a thrift store; such finds do change your perspective! Last but not least, I am wondering if anyone else notice the combination on the bottom pic is the one as Mr. Cortina's? Influence, perhaps? Jorge from W Palm Beach

Blogger InStudio Blog said ... (9:01 AM) :

Aawww - your friend is "growing up". I prefer his mature look much more and it "suits" him much better too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:09 AM) :

wonder if he ever delivered the mail he was holding in first

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:18 AM) :

The new look's a bit too late seventies TV cop show coke dealer for me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:33 AM) :

i am completely in love with the southwest print detail on the KNEES of his pants from two years ago. so strangely flattering.

Blogger spring flowers said ... (9:35 AM) :

Oh... he just oozes sexiness in the last shot. yum!

Blogger The Spicers said ... (9:36 AM) :

I saw this guy in Florence at Pitti Uomo back in January and followed him for a couple of blocks to get a better look at his outfit and the spectacular green crocodile bag he was carrying.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:38 AM) :

I think meeting you had a life-changing effect on him Scott!

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (9:43 AM) :

This is wonderful. I wonder how many people were involved in the transformation, and what triggered it? He looks perfectly, happily at ease with his new look- that's the most important thing.
I almost criticized the shirt collar outside the jacket. I won't but it brings up a point. I've made some criticisms here that I later regretted since I aspire to the open, inclusive attitude you have. Most of us dress to please ourselves, and break the rules whenever it suits us. We should allow others the same latitude.
You've made my day. Thanks.

Blogger Syed said ... (9:46 AM) :

I love both looks, the first and the last two! Plus the three piece suit is super!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

holy crap...i must see the man behind the glasses. i love all the looks. the confidence he oozes is mesmerizing.

Blogger kittenmasks said ... (10:01 AM) :

WOW. I totally wasn't expecting to see him in a suit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:08 AM) :

He looks gorgeous at all 3 pics. But the last one, with linen blazer is my favourite. These two years turned him from a boy to a man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:12 AM) :

I think there has been improvement. The first look is too much. The last picture is especially appealing: one of the most chic and comfortable looks I've ever seen on this site.

On another note, can I mention how much i enjoy the comments of Jorge from West Palm Beach?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 AM) :

whooha! i'm whistling! he looks gorgeous in the three-piece-suit, i have to say. what an improvement! i'm surprised you even recognized him, sart (or did he come up to you and urged you to make a picture proof of his mega improvement?!)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:57 AM) :

It is for pictures like these that I begin my morning with The Satorialist.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (11:23 AM) :

Love the colors of his last look!
His hair is beautiful!

Blogger thwany said ... (11:47 AM) :

he's sexy

Blogger Piztachio said ... (11:58 AM) :

ahahaha. handsome! i agree, last shot is great.

Blogger Margareta said ... (12:10 PM) :

I don't see it as an improvement, per se.
I don't think time has much to do with it, either.
(If Scott hadn't said differently, you wouldn't really be able to tell whether all 3 had been taken the same year or not, would you?)
The man simply likes different styles and choses his clothes to suit his own mood and needs. Don't we all do the same?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:20 PM) :

Hahahaha that's hilarious- "And look at him now!"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:27 PM) :

The deep blue and khaki in the last picture are absolutely perfect together. Can't wait to see how he gets even better in two more years!

Blogger JO said ... (1:37 PM) :

wow what a contrast!

...a good looking fellow - how ever he is dressed... definitely has some style of his own.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 PM) :

its not about the time...this guy has a mad sense of style. i wouldnt be surprised if he would wear that pullover from the first picture tomorrow.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:49 PM) :

Boo on the qualitative judgments. All three pictures say something different in very effective ways. He is the same man, these are different aspects of his character. We are all bigger than the clothes we are wearing at any one time. And the world would be a duller place if those cool pants in the first pic stayed in the closet.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:52 PM) :

What a transformation! I definitely love the latter picture!

Blogger .......... said ... (2:02 PM) :

before and after photos make me smile...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:06 PM) :

Every piece he is wearing in the first shot is beautiful, but together it is a bit much-- however, mixing one of those pieces with what he is wearing in the last shot would be AMAZING.

Blogger x miss nina said ... (2:08 PM) :

And we never get to see his eyes

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:45 PM) :

awesome through the ages. what a guy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:46 PM) :

A change of clothing does not necessarily signal a change in personality, change of life circumstances or even maturity. Isn't part of the fun of fashion adopting different personae? At the same time, changes that reside most deeply within may never be detected from one's outer appearance.

He is himself in both looks!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:06 PM) :

can we say...MAKEOVER!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:11 PM) :

I like this one.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 PM) :

Way to rock that Cowichan sweater!

Blogger Lenoxave said ... (4:05 PM) :

Holy cow! Now that is some kind of transformation. He looks smarvalous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:24 PM) :

Delicious! I especially like the white pocket square in the third shot, pulling together with the white trousers.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:45 PM) :

wow - any look will do me. he's got a great look and a very sexy vibe.

Blogger cami falcão said ... (5:05 PM) :

he's improved, but i'm not sure if he has improved his own style or if he is just copping what is in every other magazine and fashion shows....he doens't convince me at all.
you Sart, on the other hand, have definitely improved on your own style, good pic then and great pics now, awesome light.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:13 PM) :

he is a character. i look at him and my mind wonders a million things, yet nothing style-related.

i love most how each photo reflects something different giving us a facetted perspective.

someone i hope you meet again so that we can too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:24 PM) :

He cleans up well!

Blogger Jo said ... (5:35 PM) :

What a departure.

Did you remember him, or did he remember you?

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:59 PM) :

Wow... I'm speechless. The second photo is spectacular. The lighting and everything! Not to mention his three piece suit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

Yummy.

Blogger zuccotto said ... (6:16 PM) :

I agree with Peristeraki and Sparrow, and probably others since I didn't read every post to now.

This man loves and understands color. I doubt time has much to do with the selections re minutes to dress or any change in major interests, though it could of course. Time may be refllected in mood and occasion, thus differing choices.

I enjoy all three portraits, very good as photos and re style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 PM) :

He's sending us a message in the last picture....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:47 PM) :

Smokin!

Blogger Cesarina Ferro said ... (10:48 PM) :

All 3 do it for me! The hair, his hands, the ring. The suit pic is killer. Who is this man? Is he single? Can we see him without the glasses?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:32 PM) :

Despite the fact that he looks cleaner and more sharp than two years ago, I somehow still like his old indie flair. very emersonian.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:40 AM) :

he is giving us a lot of different looks.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:41 AM) :

he knows he looks good!

Blogger Concordia Personal Shopper said ... (1:30 AM) :

It seems like a "before and after" Sart´s influence.
I like both looks anyway.
He's elegant whatever he wears.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:54 AM) :

wow, he looks amazing now!

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (3:55 AM) :

It is your blog!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:10 AM) :

Anybody else think with the spread collar and untucked shirt, he's a little bit too much like Furio from The Sopranos..... whoever said "70's cop show coke dealer" was spot on

Blogger hoydenmel said ... (5:03 AM) :

i love his hair and sunnies!
he's cleaned up REALLYYY well too!
absolutely love the latest pictures of him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 AM) :

Sart -- did you happen to get a closer look at his lapel pin? Looks like a gold ring, but I can't see the design clearly. He's wearing it on both suits. Thanks for the superb photos & I hope you run into him again soon!

Blogger e-mommie A.K.A Iliana Zúñiga said ... (7:00 AM) :

this looks like a before and after photo of Extreme Makeover. From homeless to Smokin' hot.
BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS

Blogger Ali B. said ... (10:17 AM) :

I'm singing... "Isn't he lovvvelyyy!"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:13 PM) :

the first look- although fascinating- seems a little bit costumey and efforted for my tastes. I call this one "Idaho Morning Song..."

the latter two shots are just classic. I see the man first, not the clothes. he's making it look easy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:37 PM) :

it's amazing how much more confidence he seems to ooze in the last two photos as opposed to the first!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:23 PM) :

He is sexy

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:54 PM) :

He looks great in the last two photos, but part of that is the way he's standing and presenting himself. I'm not sure the first outfit is in perfect taste, but it is fun and I hope he still breaks out now and then.

Blogger Anastasia said ... (6:46 PM) :

wow love the metamorphosis!!
very slick...with millions of people out there how do you manage to bump into the same people? do they hunt you out?

Blogger Candice DeVille said ... (6:54 PM) :

To be perfectly honest the first look would have me moving bar stools, but look number two would have me buying him a drink without even an introduction. ;)

Blogger miss sophie said ... (8:16 PM) :

the evolution of style - i especially love how his red notebook provides the perfect dash of color to his fabulous summer outfit in the last shot. the overall look is very sexy in my book :)

Blogger Mr. Rover said ... (9:54 PM) :

Two facets of his personality- I love it! Looking very comfortable in both the country and the city looks.

And the lighting is wonderful in the two new photos!

Blogger RichRichRich said ... (10:24 PM) :

that three piece suit is SUPERB!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 AM) :

Bloody hell! What a sexy way to wear a suit. It seems like suit and sexy don't go together. But this guy just pulls it off. Picture 2 is the perfect suit. Picture 3 is the jacket recycled into a sexy legere look.

I cannot mention, that I particular like this guy's haircut.

Picture 1 were presumably his rock 'n roll days. Well, we all have/had/still have those days, when we just want to go crazy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:53 AM) :

nice. LOVE the transformation!

Blogger Unknown said ... (7:58 PM) :

never thought beige and dark blue can work so well together....

Blogger yourstruly said ... (1:08 AM) :

May I ask, who is he? He looks so handsome. Is he Japanese? He's always covered with shades, even frm 2 years ago.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 AM) :

so handsome!!!!
designer?

Blogger Char said ... (7:49 AM) :

A 3pc suit is très chic, plus are those the same cool sunnies in all 3 shots??

Blogger Olimpia Liberti said ... (11:24 AM) :

What a transformation! I bet, after you shooted him the first time, he went here in your blog and saw some photos of men looks and created his own! Your blog is a sort of inspiration for all of us! And about the pictures, I loved the light in the second one, just in his head. Brilliant as always.

Blogger Laura Pintos said ... (3:50 PM) :

Here you have the better used two years of a life.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 PM) :

The first photo is interesting, but mostly becuase it is such an over-the-top combination. He is wildly handsome in the second & third photos (second esp. - wow! what a handsome man). thanks for posting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 PM) :

He looks so inspiring. The definition of a gentlemen dressed smartly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:42 PM) :

I think he looks hot from the neck up in the first pic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:56 PM) :

The hair, the shades, the suit, the man...what a turn on.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:59 PM) :

Impeccable. What a transformation.

Blogger DDW said ... (8:03 PM) :

his hair looks really silky. l'oreal... because he's worth it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 PM) :

I love the first look. It is slightly contrived, but I feel that it shows his personality better. To me, this isn't a transformation; this is a series of photos that captures the different sides of his personality. He seems like he would have an interesting story.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:02 AM) :

Loved the original look. This guy looks great, but the original short-haired dude doing the beige jacket, blue shirt deal has some attitude. The whole white linen pant white shirt which becomes dark blue for later in the day - he even wears aviators.
He has defined my summer look - the : "I don't give a shit if you're looking at me, and I know you are."

Blogger divasoul said ... (11:29 AM) :

This is such a perfect example of being comfortable in your own skin. In ALL the pictures - whether two years ago or now - he is comfortable in who he is in that moment.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:31 AM) :

former Number (N)ine fashion victim

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:05 PM) :

Oh yeah, baby! Love the newest look especially. Very fresh real.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:48 PM) :

I've seen this guy before on your blog and I'm always impressed by his look. A lot of it has to do with the amount of confidence he displays. I think himself and a few of the other regulars make a good case for you to tag these guys in photos. That way we can easily find more examples of theirs.

I really like the look in the third photo. It's a style of dress that looks attainable.

Blogger Tim McFarlane said ... (10:13 PM) :

The first shot looks like a bit too thought out and costume-like. The newer looks are much more relaxed and fresher.
