OK, the proportions are perfect! The loose blouse (could it be a man's shirt? they are cheaper!!!) and the long pants make for a great summery ensemble, although only for the slim of frame. Since I do my own laundry, these pictures remind me of my "picturesque" Rotterdam side street where I lived- it would take a lot of scrubbing to clean the white pants! Love the looks of the guy in white shirt and jeans, and especially his bag; and no, I am not asking where he got it, I probably can't afford it. Jorge from W Palm Beach

I love her style, but I'm not sure that I like the shirt half-tuck thing. For one, I imagine it would not be flattering on anyone with wide-ish hips. Maybe I'll come around to it.
The demi-tuck is not for amateurs... but once you've got it down...

yes. her trousers need a little hemming, but she does this look justice. it just looks very easy, effortless and comfortable. her necklace in the first photo and her floral trousers are gorgeous.
the theme i'm seeing isn't the loose-shirt-tucked-into-pants notion, but rather, the red-pattern-on-white idea. not too keen on the billowing shirt and flared pants look, but the red-on-white is fun!

I prefer the first look, especially love the shirt. The over-long pants make it look like she has stubby feet or is on stilts, though. I'm not a fan of the print on her second pair.
I like pants a tad long, but not so long that they hide one's shoes. Not crazy about patterned pants, either. I do like the loose blouse and general drapey look on a slim frame. She carries it well.

I've been away in London for the week, but off the digital grid. This morning's coffee was spent trawling a week's worth of your postings. Many fine moments, but the payoff for my absence was not the fashion, but the beautiful faces you've caught lately, some of which are unforgettable.
She looks fabulous and chic with The oversize linen male shirts. The "Madonna/Gucci pants" are totally inapropriate to cross the road, one might think. Nevertheless she proves one's totally wrong!

Her execution isn't on for me... to me it looks ridiculous and pretentious. The side profile might be really bad. I'd feel much better about this look if I could see her shoes.
Absolutely fabulous, she is up there with the Queens of fashion Anna, Carine, Giovanna, Agnes and the rest... she has her own thing going on and that's what matter.

The fabrics look really nice. Great textures and colour combinations. Maybe it's just not my style and thus can't appreciate it, but I really do think she looks messy.

No I don't get this style either. In theory is works but this is ill fitting. The trousers are too long and it makes the whole outfit look cheap and scally.
She is a breath of fresh air. I LOVE it. It is casual, classy, quirky, and sexy. It's not about a perfect hem, seeing her shoes. Her confidence tells the story, she's dressed as a memorable character.
So it seems that the half-tuck is en vogue again - in Italy, at least. I remember it the first time around, when I was in middle school in the mid-1980s (anyone else remember the Polo shirt with the half-tuck & the popped collar?). While I think it looks great on the people in these photographs, I hope this trend doesn't make it "across the pond". Can you imagine some overweight slob with baggy jeans & t-shirt trying this look on? I shudder to even think about it...

I really love your blog--this is my first time here! I am also in love with that necklace, and the fabrics look comfortable. I know the flowery pants aren't everyone's idea of fashion-forward, but I think they're really interesting. The top photo is the best, though.
Only the lady to the left as we face the picture looks comfortable to me, re pant tightness.
I still enjoy the photo, particularly re the perhaps obvious play of fingers, which I trust is another example of Scott's comment re photography and anticipation.
I once saw a painting in a Lucca museum that, to me, was all about the hands, however subtlely, and this strikes me as a today-version of that.
Fine looking people! It's refreshing to see healthy looking, slim non-smoking individuals for a change. They're obviously not from Central California!
Things I like very much:
- the severe yet feminine hairstyle juxtaposed with the loose, mannish shirts
- the half-tuck--very practical on hot summer days!
Things not so much:
- pants that completely cover the foot always look a little daft to me
-especially when said pants are white and dirty around the hems

she needs a tailor for the bottom of her daks...they'll look shabby in no time. otherwise, all good. like it.
The clothes have so much movement in themselves they look as though they're supposed to be on a mannequin...as though if she made one false move she'd disappear from view down into her shirt...Which give the sense that the outfit is wearing her, even though she has such a strong presence and style. Slightly unsettling therefore, but maybe that's a good thing, ya know?
i simply cannot get past the "elephant's foot" look of the pants hiding her feet, way too unflatering on my book, sorry

Am I the only one that finds her appearance to be trashy and clothes to be sloppy? The look with the solid color slacks would be better if it was a bit more refined, but I dislike the one with the crazy print. And her severe hair makes the clothes overwhelm her even further.
Pants are very chic but they are too long. It looks like she is wearing platforms and the whole look is too bottom heavy.
She looks good. Casual, comfortable -- like she digs being who she is.
I love the flower print pant. I have some myself but the cut on hers is much nicer than mine.... However, mine are hemmed properly.
I'm not a fan of the dragging pant leg. Seems to me one would have to discard the pants after a few wearings as the bottoms will be frayed and torn. I don't have that kind of wardrobe budget.
As for the demi-tuck.... to me it comes across as trying too hard to look casual. She doesn't look like a lady who needs to "try" at all.
What I dig most is her unreproachable coolness.
I like the outfit (well maybe less-severe hair) until I get to the ankles. The too-long pants remind me of teenagers who scuff the back of their jeans because they're too lazy to get them taken up.

no-belt is sharp. sometimes a waist looks bare without a belt.. other times, of course, a person's pants need some help. no belt, if it looks okay, always strikes me as tailored/carefully chosen sizing, which is a good thing.. at least it adds versatility

Sorry, but I think she has chosen clothes to make a statement, not because they flatter her. I'm not fond of the color combinations, think the pants are one of those exaggerated looks that teenagers get into, and the half tuck of the shirt just looks contrived. Also, the oversize clothes with that tight hairdo makes her head look too small.
I have the feeling we'll see this oh so trendy "new" and "directional" look a lot this summer and then it will wind up in the closet with all of last summer's cute little baby doll dresses.
The contrast with the pictures of "Darcy in Milan & Paris" and her "quiet chic" says it all.

The first ensemble works much better because of the shirt - it isn't falling off her backwards, as you see in the second shot. The colors work so well in both images, and the style is flattering to her. However, the slacking shirt just makes me uncomfortable in the second shot. (Maybe it's the fact that you don't see a bra strap, that makes me question how age-appropriate she dresses...)

But the half-tuck is not flattering, particularly when worn braless and unbuttoned so far. Her sloping shoulders, while great for strapless dresses, make the shirt ride back awkwardly so it looks like her clothes are falling off..

It's "HER"-- it's her style. I love it. It kills me when people pick a person's style apart with "oh it's not practical" or "pretentious!" "she should hem her pants" "I would wear a softer hair-do"-- the point is that it's her style and if it were more convential, it wouldn't be style, let alone HER style.

I absolutely LOVE her overall look! She definitely has style. She has the confidence to be a little different, particularly with the proportions. I especially like her bold colorful necklace in the top picture. It looks like something designed by Tina Frey.

Wide shirt + Wide pants = not a fan. Those pants look defenetly too wide and baggy for me. However, this lady wears her clothes beautifuly, I love the look of an oversized, well ironed good shirt! Gorgeous! I also like the rings and the colier that she is wearing in pic #1.
I also like the idea of recreating the same formula in differant ways, even the head band is present in both pictures. A very strong and clever way of creating a style identity!
Over all...I love that she manages to pull out a Style of her own... XL shirts and huge boot pants!...lol.I think is great what she is doing with her shirts the way she pull them back and tuck them in front...thats very inspirational...Tha's what we are triying to find in this blog isn't it?
I think she's so pretty! She walks this good line between severity and frivolity--plain hair pulled back/vivid lipstick; colourful necklace/neutral linen; sloppy fit/neat lines of her frame; youthful sensibility/lined face. She embodies the word "smart" in all its shades of meaning.
