Sart, I adore you. Your perspective on fashion is brilliant. But baby, you've gotta work on your posture! You were so slouchy I almost lost you in that chair.
Sit up and try to exude a little more power when you're on camera. I know it seems naggy, and I don't mean to criticize you. But I believe strongly that posture has as much to do with your look as what you're wearing. It gives you a real presence that people will take notice of.

thanks for the tip but to be honest to do what i do i don't really want people to notice me.
i have to walk up to strangers and ask to take their photo - i think if i would exert too much power it would get in the way - i purposely try to be very gentle and calm when working on the street and a big part of that is body language -especially when working with women. I think it is powerful to be able to make others comfortable quickly.
besides those stools were a pain and I asked if we could do it at a desk - maybe next time, if there is a next time.
great interview. interesting choices. but the cameraman took such strange angles. i think the pose comment must be related to this awkward angles chosen for the interview. a desk or a sleek armchair might improve the feeling of stiffness -of three in a row. also better light to avoid the general yellowishness would be great.

I loved that! Everyone looked chic and comfortable. The editing on the video was great--just the right length, nice cutting with video and images from shows/the street. Well, actually, I could've watched 30 minutes of that.
I loved the whole thing. I'm actually glad you guys weren't behind a desk. I got to see what the fashion critics were wearing. Some of that was pretty funny too.

Yeah, next time, ditch the stools. They're very awkward...sorta like suits that look like pajamas.
This is really charming, actually, because--no offense--you guys are all guys' guys, manly men, erring a bit conservative in your fashion choices and on-screen personalities but still obviously caring very much about what happens on and off the runway.
I LIKE the pajamas! They remind me of my boyfriend when he's walking around in the morning wiht his shirt on. Sexy.

I just wanted to thank you. I'm female and impressed male friend today when I remarked on the impeccable tailoring of another gentleman's suit. He was really surprised that I noticed something beyond his tie/color choice.
I've refined my taste and developed a bit of an obsession with menswear because you made it relevant to me, someone who otherwise only cared about womenswear. Thanks.

I just love menswear in general. It always inspired me because most menswear is very functional vs. just frills, bells and whistles. Also the models tend to be v.hot.
On another note.. Mr. Sart please try to find those ped socks because sockless did not go so well with the exposed calves. As a calve-y girl myself I know how tricky it can be with the cut-off pants and looking stumpy. I think the socklessness and the awkward distance between the shoes and the hem of the pants was not flattering (especially from the cross-legged position). Just my two cents!

I know dexter said it, above, and you have a good reason to be humble - in body - on the street, but he's right. Your posture made you look a little dumpy! And you aren't! At all!
For all of your care in noticing how people wear clothes, and thinking about what would and would not work on you, you also have to think a little about giving the clothes their due by sitting up straight! Especially in a crappy litle stool like that one.
You are a very good looking man. Own it, at least for the camera.

I adore your website, but I've got to chime in with a point about the posture discussion. I can totally understand that in your work you don't want to come off as aggressive, and that softening your shoulders may help with that. Remember though your setting. A televised interview is not the street and you are not working as a photographer in that moment but as a fashion commentator.
I'm a teacher and there is body language that I use as a teacher that I try really hard to not to allow to cross into my real life. Similarly, I do a lot of ballroom dancing and there is LOT of stuff I do with my posture in dancing that would look absurd anywhere else.
I know that the 'computer crouch' can get to all of us, but really, as my grandmother would say, sit up straight and smile! ; ) What you're saying is so interesting that it's a shame your posture distracts from that.

I agree with the posture comment. Maybe you don't want to come off arrogant or unapprocable so without knowing it, your body tries to make people feel comfortable. But you're the king of fashion. No matter what you say or do, you will always be the king. Designers, models and the everyday alike, look to you for style inspiration. There is nothing you can do about it. You're simply the best. Sit and stand tall because EVERYONE, yes everyone looks up to you.

I can def. see the small sock sensation popping up here in London....men and boys are really into jewel coloured lightweight socks with suits during office hours and ankle skimming summer trousers in down time....it wont take too long before the sock is ankle skimming too!
Sart's is a free blog and i can't get this kind of quality content anywhere else. i wouldn't publically criticize the author/artist no matter how much i love him (and I do!). Criticism is a private thing, especially when you're a guest.
