Comments on "On the Street....Casual Chic, Florence"
Liking this.. wouldn't have guessed its not denim.
Hmmm. Well I like his pocket square and his shirt. The pants are unfortunate (and possibly hazardous if he plans on having kids in the future - and Italy already has a low birth rate so he should try to dress more comfortably - if only for the good of his country). What if he drops his hankie on the ground? How will he retrieve it?
He does have that I'm-casual-and-chic-for-work look that so many professionals in Florence have and I always found that alluring. I'm just not down with the tighties.
too much too serious for an Italian!
ah, very nice. not a fan of denim myself, but aged linen? absolutely.
the matching stripe on the belt and pocket square is lovely, too.
nice jacket...i love the microcheck...shirt from the impeccable fit...beautiful belt that arrives from the yachting...!
marco
Really clean. A few wrinkles will make it only better.
Simple and elegant!
Wow! Everything fits just so! I think this is one of the few plaid/gingham jackets we have seen in your blog- it is certainly inspiration to try something new. I even like the perfect symmetry of the belt silk bunching up at the buckle. Pure perfection! Jorge from W Palm Beach
For some reason, the circle ring on the belt really bothers me...
WOW! Perfect fit! My favorite "guy in a suit picture" yet!
sart,
you need to come see the street style in arezzo. it's amazing. probably the best i've seen in italy!
His trousers may be perfectly washed/aged linen but he doesn't look very comfortable somehow...
Lovely photo, Sart. I love the entire outfit here, especially the jacket and ribbon belt. Very well done.
FLAWLESS. No one interprets preppy like the Italians. I hope he's wearing highly polished black Gucci loafers (with red and green grosgrain under the snaffle bit). And without socks, of course. Notice the vintage watch with blue strap peeking seductively from just beneath the jacket cuff. PERFECTION.
They still look like creased jeans. A no no.
Otherwise wonderful tailoring, of the jacket, perfect cuff length, and a blue watch!
I wonder what his shoes look like.
The belt bothers me. LOVE the rest. And he proves that linen can have a second life that isn't slouchy, wrinkled and untidy.
who cares about the pants? mr clean ME, please . . .
wow. and i'm not usually into bald men. this changes everything;) i really love the belt.
What a fantastic gingham blazer!
This is going to sound juvenile but . . . his pants are so cool!!!!
i really would like to know who is this guy already.
where he works what he does,he is been in so many pictures here and on the japanese magazines.
who is he???
also the guy with the lollipop ezio manchini, who is he what does he do?
please sart ,i am so curious!
The jacket lends beautifully to the pocket square, very nice. I also really like the symmetry in the background of the shot.
He looks good. You must have shot him early, he's not all creased up yet. Nice shape & balance on fit, classically speaking. I'm going to guess the shoe is a nicer version of topsider style, navy with white trimming. Portofino in the house.
The belt really pulls the outfit together for me by incorporating the blue/white shades. Some of the earlier posts opine that the pants are too tight, but I don't see it that way. Tighter than flowing linen pants? Yes. But any different than well cut trousers? No. A great look.
He's rocking the check.
Nice, clean line on the blazer.
The ticket pocket is a nice detail.
He might be more comfortable with a higher rise on the trousers.
I'd wager a nickel that this guy is wearing socks.
man this guy is so perfect looking.
Awesome. This is the type of look I'm striving for myself.
You could have fooled me on the pants--they do look a lot like jeans. I like how the whole outfit works together without being at all matchy. The unusual belt does a lot towards pulling it together.
Wow. That is impeccable linen.
aged linen..........delightful. How cute, he looks nervous....
xCC
the denim "look" but in different fabrics ie linen, prints is very in right now (linen is always a standard in summer)
sart isn't this the guy you took a shot of not to long ago wearing a beautiful plaid suit, with no front zipper in the pant? He must have an excellent tailor. This look is great.
Oh wow.... his pants really do look like denim.
Lovely! Crisp and handsome, without looking too stuffy. The round belt buckle instead of the traditional square/rectangle is also a nice touch. One of my favorites of the past several months.
Why don't my jackets fit this well? Very nice.
the crease on the pants and the belt really bother me. I like the color combination a lot though.
i LOVE those pants so incredibly much!
All the clothes match perfectely and the accesories give a touch of modernism to break with the structured look. I think it´s perfect for a summer working day. Love the colours! they're great for his skin tone.
nice
This is what style is about: crisp and simple.
the belt the belt the belt!
wow. fantastic.
Not Italian.
More German - Scandinavian.
I prefer Italian.
way too starched.
Perfect lenght on the shirt sleeves, and on the jacket. Nice belt, sporty and casual. Love the watch, wonder how nobody mentioned it...
I always laugh when people write this but...I think I'm in love with this guy. The pants *do* look a tad uncomfortable, but overall the look is sooo well thought-out. Cheers.
i can't get by the pants... they look like denim and I hate pressed tailored jeans. I see a lot of denim for "dress up" now and I don't like the look. Put a different pair of trousers on him and I'd love this. In every other way he is totally pulled together.
Not a huge fan of the circle belt but its fine, its just those silly pants.
I honestly think the best accessory in this photo is his shaved head, it's brilliant. I am glad that men these days are no longer in fear of balding...they have succumed to the razor. Very nice. I think the Sartorialist should have a review of nicely dressed men with "no hair" as the accessory. * your fashionista in Austin.
this is guy must be german, he looks way too serious. i do like his amazing detailing. that's why i think he's german, very detailed. handsome too... :)
ooh. i cannot stand the pants. too pressed. too small. too fussy.
I don't care for this much at all. I do, however , love creased casual pants like jeans or cargo pants which alot of people here don't.
He looks really like he needs to loosen up. The belt bugs me too.
Great picture! Dude the pants are too tight though. I can't say it any more eloquently than that. The look is great though.
