Comments on "Night of the Man Moc, Milano"
This suits him so well. I love the colors, and I love that it looks like he didn't try too hard. Casual, simple, cool.
I love it. I like to wear shorts and jackets together. He is very stlish, relaxed and sexy. For me the shoes are the perfect break in that classic blue harmony.
i really like this whole outfit! especially the jacket.
Personally im not sure about the shoes but the jacket is great.
Hate the shoes (too rustic for the outfit), but the rest of his outfit is great!
This picture is amazing, Sart!
I like the jacket a lot -- a lot a lot, in fact. Everything else....well....maybe next time?
Jacket -- okay. Shirt -- okay. Mocs -- okay. Shorts -- meh.
All these pieces together?
NO!
Hey, didn't we see this guy last week? I like this look a little better, though. His clothes seem to fit him better than Lacoste man.
He and the girl in the picture below should date.
I agree with Mia B. He looks calm, cool, and collected. His shorts are rolled up just the right amount...just above the knee. Very cool!
What a great photo.
Why do men do that thing with their pockets? --pull them taut for a wider-effect. It's quite unflattering.
Great jacket. This is a perfect example of casual. It's cool and chic and definitely not sloppy.
You know what? This works. He seems self-assured enough to pull it off. Good on him!
What kind of fabric are the shorts made of?
i almost thought these were the same shorts has the lacoste weating guy had on.
i wouldn't think that a navy blue jacket would match with light blue shorts but apparently they do.
great picture, i love the setting
the shorts look a lot like seersucker.. i guess just not the traditional striped.
anyone know the brand of shoes?
Nothing to see here, people. Break it up- move along
That jacket looks like it has no chance of closing. Is that correct or an illusion?
i need mocs now!
The idea of walking around concrete all day in mocs makes my feet hurt just thinking about it. But I love the shrunken jackaet and blue shorts.
kool kool pics sart...
luv the indigo jacket's...it goes well with tht folded bottom berms...simple but nice...
hmmm...but tht shoes...hmmm...i not sure...
overall still nicee...

Yum :)
You have been on a posting frenzy lately, Scott, keep it up!
Seen this look in a Zara window... next!

Alan Bates of the new millennium, and that's okay by me.
Love the jacket, esp. the color. I also like his hair - both on his head and his face. So ruggedly handsome.
I'm not loving the mocs. They are too literal IMO. The shorts are nice but with a different ensemble - a t-shirt and no belt. I'm not a fan of the dressed up shorts for men.
I must say that he really is delightful and would look good in anything.
These shorts are identical to the Lacoste guy, but his was with stripes. In any case, Lacoste guy looked a lot better IMO.
You're right, they totally should date! They would look perfect together.
One word: perfect.
Not because of the individual pieces, but because of him, as a whole.
I've worn moccasins off and on for decades. Too flat for me, let's say, arch free. But, go for it. The trend will make it just that much more expensive for the rest of us.
This pic? I won't jabber at him, no praise either.
I want to shake this guys hand!
this is a typical case of: colors look good, guy looks good in the picture, yet the shoes stink to high heaven.
brilliant if you only care about the photographic aspect, yet not really a good choice of shoes if you're actually looking for substance, wearability or, indeed, style.
ciaofrommilan
where can i find mocs like this? i'm really struggling to get hold of a pair.
Personally I love the outfit, completely...Myself i'd add some colour with purple mocs rather than brown ones...but still wonderful!
Does anybody know a company that has such shoes in their collection? they look a bit like visvim, but smaller...
He should date me!!!
Is that a double-breasted jacket? I am going to disagree with several comments above, it is probably my least favorite part of the outfit. For me, a double-breasted jacket is too formal to pair with casual garments, but that is just me. Everything else is perfect. I do like the mocs/shoes, they sort of look like dessert boots, which have been on my shopping list for some time- maybe next paycheck! Jorge from W Palm Beach
I don't understand why baggy pajama bottoms rolled up into shorts are supposed to be chic. It's been shown a lot on the this site. The man looks like he's wearing slippers and underwear with a blue blazer.
But then I don't know why someone would wear sandals to work either, so I'm probably not the most fashion forward person.
Always enjoy your pics Sart.
I see Alan Bates, I see Dennis Wilson too.
I much prefer this look/gent to the Lacoste guy. This look is more masculine and appealing to me. The other? - a little too much like a guy wearing his sisters clothes?
More rolled-up seersucker. J'adore! And the blazer is perfection. Casual elegance done well. He and the Lacoste guy would be fast friends.
Confidence is the best accessory. This man wears his clothes well.
i'm surprised at the negative reaction to the shoes. i quite like them; they're a great departure from traditional formula. and, you know, i never liked shorts with sportcoats before, but this time it seems to work out. perhaps not the most sophisticated outfit, but it's certainly original, and certainly stylish.

I love the colors and his jacket. Wish that his beard were groomed closer to his face and that his shorts where trousers. I think that trousers would give him a stronger, leaner line (maybe it is the hands in the pocket).
what brand are those mocs? i want them.
An ankle moc has it's place especially for men and this is not it. This type of moc is best suited with a nice worn pair of jeans and a chunky sweater. Head to ankle looks good though.
he's so cool, but i didn't like look the shoes. the jacket's amazing!
Your composition is, once again, brilliant Sir! Simply spectacular and so energizing how the background elements pull your eyes to the subject. So very cinematic.
Too bad the individual is so bland.

the shoes are dope, where can i get them in the US? i love how he looks like he didn't try too hard but still looks good
I don't think he can button his blazer. But he looks rugged preppy head to toe.
The worn mocs with the pseudo-casual look make it too casual and not pseudo enough...if that makes sense.
Even if they weren't as old or had a little more structure they'd totally say "cool dad," unfortunately. Maybe a navy moc or a purple moc? I dunno.
He's got nice legs to be wearing such high hemmed shorts, but the hands in the pocket definitely make him look wider than he is.
Minnetonka Moccasins--the classic "straight plug" are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! Cheap--about $50- all leather and totally cool.
excellent: shoes, shorts, shirt, jacket.
maybe not: those specific glasses.
this would look good with or without the jacket, yet its such a strong piece. the shoes are incredible, laced, softened leather shoes and paired with shorts that length, its bold, proportioned, and as refreshing to wear as to see on somebody.
Not a fan of the shoes. But he does look good. Well dressed i'd say.
wunderbar
My shorts hit just above the knee, so as a heads up to those who want to try this look for themselves, I think that with the short length that I have, while it may be great for cuffing, it is not necessarily good for that carefree roll, which requires a longer length short. Also, I think that one has to have the right sort of leg - unfortunately, I have larger thighs (having run track), so while a cuff might work, rolling the hem of my shorts or wearing those cool mid thigh swim shorts so popular this season doesn't work well with my body type. I really love the moccasins contrasted against the double breasted jacket by the way - quite a lovely juxtaposition.
The color of his jacket really plays well with the background colors. This is such a great composition.

i love this guy's style, and it doesn't hurt that he's handsome as hell.
ahhh, i think i found the shoes! i didnt find the "straight plug" minnetonka moccasins la sartorialista referenced, but I THINK this man is wearing the minnetonka men's fringe boot. $40 with a hard sole. His pair looks incredible broken in!
although the elements themselves are quite converse:
formal double-breasted jacket with underwear-like cuffed shorts (please note: he's wearing them with belt like an alibi that says 'these are no underwear altough they look like it')and a crinkled/structured(?) shirt, specific(retro-)modern sunglasses and floppy outworn ankle mocs, somehow purposely parted hair and a somewhat rampant beard.
rather not a classic reputable way to dress. but this man wears his composition with such a coolness and self-confidence that alltogether he simply appears authentically stylish and radiates strong charisma!
Wow, he's totally my type. He should date ME.
Great picture, when I double clicked on the picture I could look better all wardrobe details. Noce shot, very stylish, casual, cool.
I got a pair of shoes like those in Uruguay when I was a teenager. I wore them everywhere, all the time. A practical question... How does one protect their shoes when wearing no socks?
if it's warm enough to wear shorts, why does one need a jacket?
This guy gets it all right....the shorts rolled and the casual unbuttoned shirt...his hair, the beard. I want to see a website dedicated to what he wears EVERY DAY!
could sartorialist do a short feature on beards? has he?
I love the shoes and different shades of blue
well done Ivan!...although I would prefer another kind of shoes...may be a light brown pair of sebago sailor shoes?
Greetings from Germany!
i love his pants! nice color!
