Botticellian - la Primavera!

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (5:07 AM) :

That is a beautiful dress, I adre this 1800 shape mixed wth the oriental green and yelow print, really really interesting. Her sandals and her hair cut also ook brilliant. And the green + blossomed background could't flatter more this outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:23 AM) :

Gorgeous dress, a beautiful print that isn't overwhelming, fantastic look complemented by her hair. Pity about the mobile phone.

Blogger S. said ... (5:30 AM) :

Is this the Prada runway dress?

wow. I am speechless partly because I never thought I would see anyone wear such a costly dress IRL, besides it's also a dress that you can't wear too often.

The theme of Prada was inspired by fairies.. and she really does look like one, she is so natural..in her element like she is floating.. and the hair cut is very Jane Birkin.

Blogger An Upstart said ... (5:35 AM) :

From afar she looks like Charlotte Gainsbourg. I loved that Prada dress, but I didn't think it would be pull-off-able. Clearly, I am wrong.

Blogger Nor said ... (5:38 AM) :

Oh this is just lovely! Possibly the best styling I've seen of the Prada SS08 collection.

Blogger Moon said ... (5:52 AM) :

i love this dress. the colour is really interesting, the pattern is a conversation starter.

however, something seems amiss.....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 AM) :

beautiful dress, fresh

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:06 AM) :

holy smokes she is perfection.

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:17 AM) :

a pre-raphaelite is a pre-raphaelite is a pre-raphaelite :) A two tones scoring mix :)

Blogger Unknown said ... (6:18 AM) :

that is a fantastic dress. she was also in garance doré's blog yesterday. http://www.garancedore.fr/2008/06/24/fleur-de-saison/

Blogger la principessa emicrania said ... (6:19 AM) :

aw, what a beautiful shot! it feels so fresh i almost cannot believe it's taken in the odious milan...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:32 AM) :

normally i do love butter yellow, but i don't like this dress, so i don't know why, but she still looks like a beautiful flower. maybe, it's just the shape of the dress. what i do love are the electric green sandals and her smile.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:36 AM) :

I love her hair with the dress -- both long and flowing and light.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:12 AM) :

i want this dress so badly.
te neckline is perfection.

Blogger Nerine said ... (7:57 AM) :

I don't think yellow is the best colour for her, but it is a beautiful dress and she wears it well.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:59 AM) :

prada dress? she look so magical

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:03 AM) :

Skirt's a little too flowy (the pleats kind of irk me, too), but other than that, this is gorgeous. I want to make one of these Maxi dresses *right now*! Anyone know a good strappy sleeved pattern? ^^

Blogger Jessica said ... (8:05 AM) :

she looks amazing - fresh, natural, and very comfortable in her skin. this is a statement piece but she pulls it off with elegance and ease. what is it that italian women have that american women don't? they always look so chic, refined, put-together, and never fussy. incredible!

Blogger miss sophie said ... (8:19 AM) :

it's jane birkinesque, and while i'm not a fan of the fairy print prada that everyone's been raving about, this works on her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:39 AM) :

Beautiful citrus colours.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:40 AM) :

I am fed up with normal adult women wearing dresses that seemed designed for pregnant ones or for girls of 7. When will this trend finally end? I pity all the men who are having to put up with this. On top of that, this lady looks like a vegetarian. If at least she had put on high heel shoes... But yes, the picture is great, as usual it tells an entire story, it makes me smile, think and dream.

Blogger a reference said ... (8:41 AM) :

She looks sweet and I know the long dress is going to come back in a big way, but this time around I'm hoping that it will look a little less innocent!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:02 AM) :

It's funny , you can find the same dress on a photo of Garance Dore but i'm not sure that the same woman ....

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (9:13 AM) :

Oooooooo!...stunning dress, perfect sandals. I want! If only I had a few extra thou in my clothing budget...

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:17 AM) :

Wow, the catwalk translated into real life. A beautiful whimsical feel. Lovely.

Blogger Baking With Plath said ... (9:20 AM) :

This outfit is perfection!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:36 AM) :

very very nice. I love the green sandals. colour combination perfection.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (10:01 AM) :

Such a gorgeous dress! Wow!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:07 AM) :

this dress is the epitome of summer
i love how the green in her sandals pick up the green in her dress
this look is so simple yet so wonderful

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:24 AM) :

LOVE the dress--and the stylish wristband :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:35 AM) :

i LOVE this dress and will never ever be able to have it, so i'm glad she's enjoying it and looking amazing in it. she also breaks my rule about women of a certain age having long hair and does it well. :)

Blogger Lizzie said ... (10:43 AM) :

Must. Have. Dress. Cannot afford :(.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:50 AM) :

I know that girl: Aurora from Vogue Nippo, she's really nice like her faboulous dress...

Blogger ricola said ... (11:14 AM) :

NIce Job of keeping it simple. And very nice job of wearing yellow and making it look alive.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:34 AM) :

I hope no one really thinks that the average person walking around the streets of Milan looks like this. I mean, these are obviously just a small handful of people that the sartorialst sees walking in and out of le sfilate. I mean, this woman works for Vogue Nippon...this isn't some random student on the street who's walking down to Duomo to hang out among the pigeons.

I think it's only fair to make that distinction.

Blogger liz song mandell said ... (11:43 AM) :

wonderful. i love the colors and flow of her dress!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:05 PM) :

Where is this dress from? I love the effect the sandals have on the entire aesthetic. The dress would be radically different with any other shoe.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:05 PM) :

Gorgeous!

Blogger brittney perry said ... (12:20 PM) :

I don't think I've every lusted after anything like I lust after this dress... unbelievable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

the print is gorgeous, but i dont like the dress itself... its not only about yellow, its just not my thing

Blogger alex said ... (12:56 PM) :

The dress is faboulous and she combines it very well with the sandals. Simply look, less is more.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:00 PM) :

She manages to make this disinctively Prada dress very much her own; although i have to question if the green sandals aren't a little too 'matched'?

Blogger ricpic said ... (1:55 PM) :

Ditto what the first poster said: a living Primavera.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

Wow, this is perfection. All the greens come together beautifully, and I'm so glad to see someone wearing the Prada fairy collection on the streets! It totally works even though I wouldn't dare wear something that expensive outside my home... haha
I also love the cut of the dress, it is very flattering on her and would be on basically anyone

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

I, too thought of Jane Birkin when I first saw this photo. The whole thing is lovely.

I know these women don't like to wear much makeup (if any) and I usually appreciate that. Here, however, it seems that she could have used a little bit to go with the soft look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:05 PM) :

oh, that dress!

Blogger Monica said ... (2:05 PM) :

She pulls off the dress cos she's tall. The comeback of long dresses isnt doing us petite folk any good. :(

Blogger elin said ... (2:12 PM) :

lovley dress, amazing picture

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:40 PM) :

@ isa @ 9:02 - it's definitely the same woman - same accessories and cell phone - but I think she looks so much better here! the flowing hair makes the wearing of the dress feel more genuine, a little more effortless. lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:52 PM) :

What a beautiful dress! She looks as if she just stepped out of an Edmund Dulac fairy tale illustration.

Blogger Vivek R. said ... (3:11 PM) :

wow! I really love this look... its gorgeous!

Blogger The Spicers said ... (3:39 PM) :

LOVE the dress, love her styling. She looks comfortable AND incredibly chic, a tough combo to pull off!

Blogger riennahera said ... (3:56 PM) :

well, it is not difficult to look good in Prada. most of people do.

Blogger Ammie said ... (4:01 PM) :

James Jean for Prada! He's an amazing artist. Nice to see this on someone out and about.

Gorgeous spring colors, and nicely framed by the beautiful flowering tree in the background.

Blogger Syed said ... (5:08 PM) :

I am totally in love with this dress, and the photograph works wonderfully!

Blogger brandon reichard said ... (5:33 PM) :

if by any cance the new batman film needs a costume for the poison ivy character, then this is it. not that i can claim much knowledge of fashion, but i think this is the worst dress i have ever seen. it is usually a bad idea to chug absinthe before clothes shopping. the tree in the background would have made a better dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:12 PM) :

I have to say, I detested the Prada collection that this comes from, but out of context, this girl has made the dress look lovely. I guess for me it's all in the intent of the look, really. She's taken it in a different direction than it was presented on the runway, which is refreshing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:33 PM) :

oh my gosh, exquisite

Blogger fashionista said ... (6:48 PM) :

My first reaction was "oh my gosh, where did she get that dress!?" Gorgeous.

Blogger Ms Nellie said ... (10:20 PM) :

Oh my, I think i'm going to have a tailormade dress exactly like hers!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 PM) :

The girl herself looks luminous and lovely ... however I must admit that personally I am "maxi-dress"-ed out. My favorite part of this look are her her loose/casual hair and minimal makeup.

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:05 AM) :

i have those shoes and love them dearly

Blogger S. said ... (12:18 AM) :

love this outfit, its so simple yet so ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:43 AM) :

Oh this is a fabulous shot. She really pulls off this outfit well. I wish I had this dress too!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 AM) :

Gorgeous! Is this Tammy Kane? - see UK Vogue Apr 08 page 96 - she appears with this dress!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:12 AM) :

What a beautiful dress, and how well it fits with her hair, and shoes. Everything says: summer!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

this prada dress is stunning...bohemian mixed oriental. reminds me so much of jane birkin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:03 AM) :

this Prada dress is stunning..bohemian mixed oriental!! she reminds me so much of jane birkin.

Blogger Natalie said ... (10:35 AM) :

She looks like a fairy :o) Only the sparkling wings are missing! Lovely.

Blogger Laurenn said ... (3:52 PM) :

It's a lovely dress in an amazing color. It's kind of an odd length if you think about it, but she makes it look amazing anyway!

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:41 PM) :

i love the dress and the little green sandals to match. great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:05 PM) :

Hmmm yeah... in spite of the matchy-matchy with the footgear, it's Lady Harlech all over again.

Blogger The Humansong said ... (4:15 AM) :

The dress' print reminds me of this one illustrator, James Jean. Surprisingly enough he was actually commissioned by Prada to do create some ads as well as work on the interior wallpaper for their Beverly Hills and SoHo Epicenter stores.

Is that print actually by James Jean himself? If so, to have it exhibited in the SS08 collection is just... mind-blowing. Wow.

Sorry for the artnerdery.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:47 AM) :

Funny how I hated the dress on the runway, but I love it on her. What can I say? She pulled it off!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:57 PM) :

I think the dress really looks so great because she's wearing it so casually. If it were with heels or with her hair put up, it could look kinda frumpy.

But she does this great, breezy, summery thing with it! Gorgeous. The matching sandals show that she's having fun with it too.

Blogger miss ghesquiere said ... (3:36 PM) :

How weird, i thought Jane Birkin beofore i read any of the comments. she looks incredible. i am so incredibly sick and tired of a american tabs and crappy shows like fashion police (and JT) trying to push the Herve Leger "sexy" look down our throats for the millionth time. A woman doesnt have to be sexualized, a woman should look like THIS!!!! I LOVE YOU!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:56 PM) :

Sometimes you dont need a lot to get a great result...! Simple, pure yet colored and lovely!

Blogger pearlaceous said ... (10:30 PM) :

Runway to realway.. Love her matching green flats..

Blogger CULTURE CREATORS said ... (8:52 PM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 AM) :

makes me think of zucchini flowers. excellently worn (:

Blogger maria said ... (4:17 PM) :

does anyone know which is the label of the sandals?i really love them.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:53 PM) :

I'm not normally a huge fan of grown women in so called clothes, but I feel this particular combination of woman + dress give it a unique feel. The color choice of the dress is sophisticated enough to make it look more mature and less infantile. She's also pared down and not looking overtly sexy. Nice choice!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:14 PM) :

is this the same woman in the "two for fashion"???

if so wowowow...
maybe the 2 of them are tracking you down sart.

anyway great style. love their attitude.

Blogger junglesiren said ... (12:19 AM) :

Is she Jane Birkin's little sister? Wow, she looks so much like her. I hope it's not cultivated. That said, I don't much care for the barrage of maxi dresses out there. Whether it's Prada (not quite maxi in this case) or Forever 21, it's so trendy that I can't get into it. It's this year's baby doll (another unfortunate fashion misstep.)

That said, Aurora is sexy even if the dress is not. And honestly the dress isn't horrible I just don't think the color or the cut or the neckline works in her favor.

Blogger Miss Cavendish said ... (4:54 PM) :

Lovely, but may we snip the hair an inch on bottom?

Blogger Shayela H. said ... (8:59 PM) :

Oh my god. Maxi dresses are not my thing, and for the most part I know I cannot wear what I see on your site. I'm jealous of the individuals who can pull off such interesting attire, but I'm not willing to try it because I know it won't flatter me. That said, I WANT THIS. I shy away from designer clothing, but that is a beautiful, beautiful dress and a beautiful, beautiful woman. Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin both popped into my head even before I read the comments.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:43 AM) :

trembled blossoms!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:02 PM) :

would have been perfect with a shoe less matchy-matchy- something to match the scoop neck color- is that brown? great prada graphic maxi though- really pretty and perfect forest-nymph looking girl to pull it together!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:52 AM) :

that is one of the best dresses of PE08...Prada number 1 as usual!!!!

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:45 PM) :

the colors are perfect and her lack of jewelry or too much makeup makes the look cool and breezy

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:55 AM) :

was that PRADA?... rei (theanne69@yahoo.com)

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:10 PM) :

Gorgeous mix of colours and I love the way it floats. Absolutely beautiful.
