Hi, I'm going to put my comment here so it might actually get read.
Using the term "haters" to describe people who have a negative opinion has got to stop. We might have a different opinion but we do not "Hate". Hate is a very strong word for what's going on here.
Most everything, except the attack on Scott's appearance, has been nothing more than lively debate.
On one hand when the term "haters" pops up it sounds parochial and naive. But on the other hand it's fascist and Stepford Wive-ish.
"You must be nice to Sart or else suffer the consequences." Laugh out loud.
Same with the term "Jealous" as in "Never mind, Sart, they're just jealous."
I can tell you that I/we are not "jealous haters". Just people with ideas, opinions, thoughts and ethics.

Hehe, sorry just trolling. Honestly I look at the blog almost daily, but have totally stopped reading the comments as they can tend towards fawning praise; which imho can get a little thick. I think it's Sart's blog and he can do whatever he wants with it, and he's clearly doing a good job as we are all here. However it's nice to see a little life in the comments section.

These threads are amazing. I often want to jump in and praise Sart just to encourage him to keep going (even though the praise, as it accumulates, becomes cloying). I'd get fed up in his position, but what is happening here is so interesting (both Sart's beautiful art, but also all the gallery-chatter beneath) that I passionately want him to continue.
Thankfully, he has a wonderful sense of humor and doesn't actually need us to save him. :)
The reason this is so intense, perhaps since India, is that commenters are trying to define "What Sart is about." It's a negotiation over definitions, meanings, the boundaries of fashion. Awesome!
But Sart is King. Long live the blog.

Poor Sart, he didn't realise the whole of New York was going to go thermonuclear on him. And Phoenix is georgous. She'd still be georgous with short hair. It's Sart's blog, we must respect that and remember we all get a lot of pleasure and inspiration and amusement from it.

Well said, Plum. People who disagree aren't mindless haters or jealous. Just people with different opinions who want to be heard. It's so weird how the only thing you need to do to win an argument now is to call your opponent a hater.
Scott, I get the joke and think it's funny, but I hope you're not just laughing at the people who are disappointed with you; I hope you took their opinions into consideration and thought about why some people were so upset instead of just posting a joke and washing your hands of it. He started this blog for himself, not for public adoration. The fact that it has become so popular is due to him being himself and not worrying about what might work or not work.

Ha Ha! Scott is kind enough to let us all hang out in his comment sectin when he could just as easily cut comments he doesn't like, or close the whole thing entirely. I'm glad he is patient and understanding with some of the ruder contributions.
Just a note: I also regularly look at Cute Overload, and when Meg posted a clip of a baby instead of the usual cute puppy or a kitten, you should have seen the comments explode with opinions about what should or should not be part of the blog, whether or not to have kids, whether babies were "gross" etc. It's interesting to me to look at how readers develop a kind of proprietary relationship with a blog (and the blogger) that gets expressed in these little dust-ups!
The quality of dissent is a testimony of the quality of discourse. There are lots of people who love to do nothing more than troll the internet and disparage everything in their path, but for the most part that's not the case here. People who care about clothes are just very enthusiastic about the subject, and this has become a major forum for that discussion. You should be honored.
Now find some more trad-obsessed Japanese fashion buyers! (or get down to New Orleans)
