Comments on "On the Street.... Vintage Lacoste..., NYC"
oh, don't get me started. Vintage Lacoste is so funky. I still have two long-sleeve polos my mother gave me before military service. 10 years ago, and still rocking the hell out of these flimsy china-made polo players.
with a smooth, soft finish inside. still wearing them!

In context with the background, he looks like a construction worker (with those shoes, anyway).
Love the vintage lacoste but the shoes spoil the whole look.. I hate the sports-shoes-with-jeans-look..
yes I love vintage lacoste. Its not the same anymore. One of my prized pieces is a dark green lacoste made in France, with L-A-C-O-S-T-E spelled out throughout the crocodile (I havent seen that in any newer lacoste shirts, does anyone know the story about that, contact me!) Sadly it doesn't really fit me anymore, but its too hard to let go.
Ill try to post some picturs of the detail on my blog
he looks fierce and I HEART the kicks.
it's just so pure and perfect.
I'm very amused by those bright blue pants. But I don't know that I'd go out and find a pair for my boyfriend.
I like the two shades of blue and mix of materials and textures. The trainers look a little battered and bruised and that gives the look a different edge...a lived in and realness. If they were pristine hi tops as seen on the Jill Sander runway this would be much more fashion...but for everyday streetwear this looks good.
i really like vintage lacoste. i'm a big fan myself.
sart, when will we see the outcome of the makeover? i'm anxious!

i can't tell if those are blue pants or jeans the color of the ones elementary schoolers wear. the shoes are fine, but certainly not note-worthy. the top can only be appreciated insofar as it is vintage lacoste. seriously, take a step back and look at it. not so much.
sweeet pic and omg what an amazing jacket. love how the orange contrasts the blue
Great colours in this shot, the orange and blue really pop.
I think the shoes are perfect, and I love the whole outfit.
(are the shoes vintage NB's?)
Who would believe this would work? But, yet, it does in a very strange and unexpected way!!!
I've been collecting vintage Lacoste men's sweaters - usually v-neck pull-overs. They have the best colors and I love the texture of the knit

he looks hot!!!!!
Nice pants. They look blue, no?
Electric... Dude looks golden--pure style and effortless attitude. The cut and stacking of his jeans are perfect.
And sir, your eye for composition and color must be commanded (time and time again): the sleek electric blues mixed with the bright orange and yellow, all framed by shades of grey-- just awesome; and to think, this is just a snapshot...

I worked at a men's vintage store that mainly housed vintage Lacoste. The store was poorly advertised, so no one really knew about it, but most of the customers that came in were females intent on making these rather large men's shirts their own. Of course they were all horribly oversized and looked ridiculous, but because "Lacoste" and that little croc were on the shirt, they paid for it.
Some just pay too much attention to labels and designers; attention that should be redirected to the actual garment in terms of its look and quality.
I am not suggesting that this fellow is a whore for labels, this is just a general comment generated from the mention of vintage Lacoste.
wow! that's an amazing color story!
hehe I like the background...
K
Elegancy.
I know him - he's a designer for the Gap...
OH MY GOD ! VINTAGE LACOSTE !........
And ??? Marni, C.P. company, Jil, I've seen this try on every 75% off rack for years. What is really so terrific ? Now, dude looks cool and pleasant, nice looking guy. It's a nice piece to ownb. Day in the life.

you wont see it in any new lacoste pieces because your item is fake-lacoste have never altered their logo in anything other than colour-also this piece is not vintage lacoste its "IZOD" lacoste a 60/70 sub section of lacoste and often looked upon as inferior.
wow, gorgeous! he makes construction debris look beautiful.
i love the whole outfit but the shoes
ruin the whole thing....
love from geneva!
People - snap out of it and get over yourselves. Put your thumb over the little aligator and what do you have? A boring blue rain coat over polyester pants with equally blah shoes. Not even any acessories accept his earphones.
This is MORE boring than the majority of outfits I can see outside my window right now. There is nothing special here.
im loving this look except for his shoes. If he went for a cleaner, crispier pair of white sneakers like canvas adidas or common projects it would make it better.
love the outfit...the shoes i feel add another dimension to the monochromatic look. in addition the shoes being worn in makes it feel more effortless.
The composition of the picture is amazing! love the vividness of the orange and yellow. Also like how the blues in the jacket play off the sign in the background, the shoes match the street and scaffolding, even his skin tone works with the surroundings. Great details!
I would love to know what he is carrying - a shopping bag or man purse?
i think whatever it is that he is carrying is quite interesting ...
What an amazing look...vintage Lacoste is quite a find!
And as others have mentioned, really love the complementary colors in the background -- it sets off his trousers (Light wash jeans?) especially well.
The background does the trick. It gives an intresting look to the pic.
john, i think you bought a fake lacoste shirt...they never had LACOSTE spelled throughout the logo, as far as i can remember.
the vintage lacoste looks wicked on him, the jeans and shoes are not my cup of tea but they look comfortable on him so kudos !
I KNOW THIS FELLA, HE ALWAYS LOOKS SO HIP AND SOO FRESH. HE'S A DESIGNER! I WISH I COULD MELT AWAY AND POUR MYSELF INTO HIS TINY CLOTHES EVERYDAY! HE'S MY FASHION HERO.
I don't get this look.
What is everyone so ecstatic about? Yeah, he's wearing a vintage Lacoste... so?
And the shoes... don't get me started.
The only thing that I can say is the combo of blues looks good, but I have to agree with a previous poster, with the background, he looks like a construction worker, and that's not an attractive look.
Put him in a Gallery opening and we'll see the difference.
Gorgeous! He looks cool, hip and super chic without trying too hard. Perfect!
i know that guy! i loves him to bits! he's so put together! the decisions he makes are very purposeful without trying too hard! not only is he a designer, but a dancer and a rapper as well! xo
Love this man's look! He looks so sleek and hot. I have a slight obsession with vintage lacoste wool sweaters. I collect them, and love them! Great photo.
i love the colours put together and i really like the length of the raincoat - reminds me of a parka and i like parkas.
i really don't like the cut of his pants in relation to the trainers. i think it's because they're runners and their thinness/the height of their sole is out of proportion with the bagginess of his trousers(trackpants?).
i think like someone said above something simple like adidas campus' or just tighter pants.
overall though, something i really liked!
very jil sander & definitely current. kudos to vintage. ^^^ a designing, dancer & rapper that understands silhouette... we must meet.
very nice and well carried style.
nice blog and nice post of shoes thanks for sharing. I would like to share sports shoes collection from Vans Trainers UK
