What a beautiful color--deep periwinkle is the essence of early spring. She looks like a hyacinth! I love the attitude and the way she's "dressed down" the dress with that casual cover-up. Nice!

Beautiful blue colour and pleating. The navy tights are a bit heavy - I think a lighter grey or even navy sheer hose next time. Her jacket looks like it was on the hook by the door and she threw it on to rush out on a quick errand.
I'm fascinated by this woman.. She looks so young and girlish while at the same time ageless. The dress is a beautiful color, and I love that it has pockets. I'm also a sucker for pleats.

Beautiful as the dress is, what I really love is the way the wet pavement, her stance, and the platforms on her shoes make her look like she's hovering above the ground!
there's something so charmingly rustic and old fashioned about this. I feel like she has a hot apple pie waiting on the windowsill or something like that. but then her jacket is so modern and masculine.

Well, ok. I admit the coat is fine. These side, slide pockets are really cool. From my own experience I know they are incredibly practical and comfortable.

I love the colour and fabric in the dress and the unexpected teaming of it with such a jacket (which is fantastic, by the way).
Only qualm I have is the shoes but that is easily assuaged by the overall fabulousness of this look.

Ethereral! The zip-up peacoat and side ponytail are nice, modern touches to balance out the look, though I'd have no problem with the standalone costumey appeal of the dress itself.
I'd half expect the collar to be rounded, but this actually works well.

I like confidence but this is sort of unearned confidence. The combination of clothes speaks only to a very limited group of expert insiders and to everyone else it looks gauche; and I don't mean geek-chic, I do mean that it's quite random and not attractive.

No disrespect to this charming and cute young woman... but that dress is awful. The whole gestalt of the outfit brings to mind the character of the mom on the show '6 Feet Under.'
I love the pleated dress, so reminiscent of vintage style. Is the dress vintage or by a designer? The collar on the dress is also stunning, bringing a strong quality to a very feminine dress.

Don´t like this dress at all. Perhaps it was ok when new,but I have a dislike for vintage clothes,they seldom fit the body of the people of today. Now if I could grab a vintage croc bag, not at all used,preserved nicely in a dust bag,well that would be another story.
I'm slightly bothered by how her breasts look. Not sure this dress is good on her. Looks a little paunchy in the stomach area. Would be better suited for someone uber skinny or more curvaceous. I like her face and hair though- very modern.

Wow she looks surreal, and kind of like she's floating. Feels like an old movie - very beautiful.
For me, the grandmotherly aspect of the dress is balanced by the sexy curviness of the close fit. Agree that it would be great with a fancier jacket and elegant haircut too.
Several commentors have noted the frumpiness of the length - that seems to be a bit tongue in cheek for the wearer. With more conventional pumps, it would be frumpy, but the platforms mitigate that factor. Also, I bet that dress looks great in motion, regardless of its length. The boy-soldier jacket also keeps it from looking too vintage-costumey. A cardigan and brooch would have been a safer choice - for her grandma. I like the look. It's fun without being fussy or silly.

That dress is from Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2007, when he was on a 70's kick. Just look at that collar. I like the dress a lot, although the accordian pleating would look terrible on anyone with hips, she pulls it off well. On the last day of his big biannual 90% off sale, there were still 2 of them hanging in larger sizes, so I assume that many people found this dress flattering. It's nice to see it off the runway. Thank you!

i like this look. it's so different to what everyone else is wearing these days. even on this site! it's not a look that everyone should run out and do, but that is the whole point. she must have great style the way she put everything together.

Tres chic! Appears (to me) very French inspired, especially with the shoes and hair. Strangely reminds me of a more delicate, earthy version of Edith Piaf. I have to give her great credit for taking the great risk of adding the jacket. Without it, she would just be another woman on the streets of New York, but this masculine jacket gives it depth and a masculine edginess.
