and the scarf!

Blogger Heidi said ... (9:10 AM) :

first!

Blogger jued keigh said ... (9:11 AM) :

eccentric looking guy. very interesting.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:11 AM) :

cargo pants? are we in 8th grade?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:35 AM) :

I love all the gray tones.

Blogger Blue Floppy Hat said ... (9:42 AM) :

I love the monochrome, but the whole shot gets elevated to another level by the fact that he has his hat off..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:44 AM) :

Ah, spring really is coming, isn't it? What lovely details: the scarf, that hat, the necklace, and that hair. Here's a striking, seemingly effortless man. Beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:45 AM) :

Yet again: greys, greys, greys. Yes! I can't get enough of them :)). Gorgeous.
And very, very interesting man.

Blogger Lord Marrowgar said ... (10:03 AM) :

I've only left one other comment on here, and that was for a friend of mine. All I have to say is PERFECTION!

Blogger Luiza Sauma said ... (10:22 AM) :

so cool

Blogger la.petite.figue said ... (10:30 AM) :

This is classic Paris, an effortless yet meticulous look, and his face is wonderful -- nonchalant with a hint of a smirk. And, of course, Parisians know how to tie a good scarf.

Blogger Luciernaka said ... (10:38 AM) :

Oh. He is dashing indeed. I like the subtle references to Paris in his attire. Black and White Stripes, cigarrette, fedora, beautiful person. Slightly ironic in a lovely, calm, casual way.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:41 AM) :

beautiful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:44 AM) :

The ring and the shirt echo. Cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 AM) :

enough with the scarves already. at a point it makes no fashion statement other than baa baa.

Blogger Karmander said ... (11:20 AM) :

Love this....entirely my style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 AM) :

Yuk. Cliché. Annoying.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:30 AM) :

great from the waist up, but the trousers are hideous

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:32 AM) :

Verrrrrrry nice.

Blogger odilean said ... (11:57 AM) :

this one i love.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:11 PM) :

This is a beautiful look.
I love your older subjects. They face the camera in such an assured and tranquil way.
Hope to see the "silver fox femme" again soon.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (12:43 PM) :

Love all the layers and shades of grey.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 PM) :

it's the shades of grey that really makes this work - i'd love to see this shot in black and white.

Blogger lara said ... (1:23 PM) :

the detail is lovely
so is the scarf

great photography again sart!

Blogger tamlee said ... (2:07 PM) :

i would like to (at age 55) morph into a male version of myself and dress exactly like him.

Blogger Bella07 said ... (2:28 PM) :

a definite cool dude.

Blogger m said ... (2:44 PM) :

Chapeau

Blogger Cheltenhamdailyphoto said ... (2:55 PM) :

Only good things are the hat and scarf.

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (2:58 PM) :

This is very chic and simple--exactly what I'd expect in Paris. It's also true androgynous dressing; it would look equally great on a man or a woman without "compromising" masculinity or femininity.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:05 PM) :

Love all the different shades of grey! Fantastic hair and beard too.

Blogger Sam said ... (3:08 PM) :

Is this the guy from Big Trouble in Little China?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:13 PM) :

i love the monochromatic scheme!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:17 PM) :

I love the lavender hat.

Blogger Barb said ... (4:45 PM) :

I like the clothes, but the head is just too "Pirates of the Caribbean" for my taste.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:22 PM) :

what a hip dude!

Blogger Laurence John said ... (6:11 PM) :

the gently rumpled look works well with his face, hair and physical type.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:28 PM) :

i love the way his dainty hands are holding his hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:16 PM) :

i like all that combination..

nice..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:44 PM) :

I like this.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:52 PM) :

I really want to see what shoes he is wearing!!!!!

Blogger Vie Chaotique said ... (7:57 PM) :

This is going to drive me nuts - he looks really familiar...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:18 PM) :

So haggard, but still so fresh. I love him.

Blogger RudesMuse said ... (12:47 AM) :

unreal look, mixes highs of the fedora and leather with lows of cargos. Beautiful chain which is layered over scarf. nice work!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:25 AM) :

The grays are work together beautifully, and I love the amulet peeking out underneath the scarf...but what really makes this photograph for me is the slightly raised eyebrow and the relaxed but slightly haughty air of a man who's laid back and confident. I may be a college student, but to me this expression is the epitome of cool.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:30 AM) :

The greys and his facial expression give off a calm, cool, and collective look! I love it!

Blogger biglakestyle said ... (5:34 AM) :

Would never have given him a second look on the street but then again, the scarf, the wonderful way the fabric folds around his neck and accents the vertical lines in the jersey. I very much agree with the post about the older subject's faces; visions of serenity and competence no matter what their walk of life has been.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:17 AM) :

I know this man. he owns a select clothing store in Osaka japan. A charming man, all smiles.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:36 PM) :

Are you seeing the pendant? That refines a gamin look I see all the time in Paris, never tire of. And such lovely fingers.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:56 PM) :

He's Asian Johnny Depp!

Blogger Liz said ... (4:28 PM) :

I really love it all, except I think the pants could have been different.

Blogger tintin said ... (5:20 PM) :

Under the beard lies a great face. He needs a shave, haircut, manicure, a grey suit, white shirt, black knit tie and suede tassels. He'd look brilliant.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:06 PM) :

one of my favorites... ever.
so fun to read the comments on this one. i love what he is wearing, and the mood of the photograph is so quiet but interesting.

Blogger O!Lightning said ... (9:31 PM) :

this man is gorgeous!
and VERY well put together!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 AM) :

What an extraordinary face.

Blogger Luisa said ... (10:07 AM) :

Is that Akira Isogawa?

Blogger pepastyling said ... (12:10 AM) :

He looks fantastic, any tips on where to find a a beatutiful grey shawl in NYC? they went extinct..I've been looking!

Blogger ideaguy said ... (6:34 PM) :

it's the hat. has been since the 30's; finish a look-or anchor a look around a true Vintage Fedora, quality goods-and it feels all there, visually. The range and scope of hats is such that whatever statement is being made, the hat reinforces it-like a quick jab from a good boxer. it's the hat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:42 PM) :

this guy oozes "cool" without even trying. love it

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:03 PM) :

love everything about it...even the ciggy on the bottom right

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

everything about this photo is perfect, sart, subject and background. reminds me why i love neutrals.

Blogger paiget said ... (7:50 PM) :

I think this is simply a beautiful shot. His clothes seem reflect his personality, which to me is effortless and cool. I love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:18 AM) :

Wow, Vincent Gallo is here in paris!
Love this guy.
