I love this outfit- the coat is gorgeous and the greyish tights look much better than black

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:14 AM) :

Love the slight suggestion of vunerability created by the feet pointing fractionally inwards. Nice touch.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:20 AM) :

I absolutely LOVE the shoes. Whose are they?

Blogger Stef said ... (8:20 AM) :

She's looking great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:21 AM) :

Edie Sedgwick?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:43 AM) :

I love her pose, it seems very serene and calm.

I also love your blog! I just recently discovered it and I've spent the last couple of days going through your entire archive. All of your photos are so great, some are just so beautiful that I don't even know how to describe them. Thanks so much for this blog :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:49 AM) :

Nice jacket, nice shoes, nice tights. They should be in my wardrobe...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:53 AM) :

Is it truly this warm and snow-free in New York? It seems strange to imagine in frigid, snow-covered Montreal. It's funny, but even the sight of her cute shoes gives me hope that maybe I'll be out of my snow boots soon enough!

Blogger Rachael Hutchings said ... (8:55 AM) :

She makes me think of Audrey Hepburn.

Blogger Carlene said ... (9:27 AM) :

I love this so much! Gimme about 9 more skirt inches, and it's me all over. Is the coat vintage or just vintage look? It's fabulous!

Blogger laia. said ... (9:30 AM) :

Oh, I am so in love with those shoes. Everytime I see someone wearing them my heart breaks a little.

Blogger Charlotte said ... (9:45 AM) :

What a cute combination of coat, skirt and shoes! Pretty girl!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:49 AM) :

great jacket! think it would have looked more chic if the skirt hit the knee, but great pic otherwise!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 AM) :

love her hair in the classy little bun, love the sunglasses, love the coat, love the skirt, love the stockings... but I can't stand the shoes! What material are they? They look kinda trash-bag-ish for some reason... :/

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:04 AM) :

Wow, never mind her clothes, but there's a nice calmness to the photo, especially when you enlarge it-something seems very still about it, which I like.

Energie

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (10:05 AM) :

Fantastic photo - she looks wonderful against the warmth of the brick wall.

I love the simplicity of this and how contemplative she appears. Large sunnies, a coat which envelopes her and those booties!

Blogger Blankpagey said ... (10:13 AM) :

Very nice! I like the short skirt and the cardigan, they go very well together!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:25 AM) :

She's so hot, she makes me want to be a lesbian

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 AM) :

Oldy but goody

Blogger Please Type Legibly said ... (10:28 AM) :

I love this look on her, though it has to be cold...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:31 AM) :

Very pensive.

Clothes and grooming really nice.

Shoes belong to someone else; I can't figure out how somehow so elegant could choise shoes so depressing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:09 AM) :

lovely lady. can you say "sexy without rubbing it in"?
I would probably ask her what's on her mind. chances are, she would shake me off and walk away but it would be worth the try.

I think this picture is more about mood than about style. the backdrop is fantastic - the meaty nuances of the bricks evoking fire, blood, passion somehow.
trouble is, you can't walk around with a constant brick backdrop can you?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:18 AM) :

She strikes me as a younger Anna Wintour.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:24 AM) :

b.t.w. not able to post on style.com but love the pics there!
carine, divine w/blonder hair!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 AM) :

She looks great, but cold. I know that it's been a little bit warmer in Manhattan lately, but does anybody have an opinion about dressing warmly vs. dressing stylishly?

Blogger tn said ... (11:49 AM) :

I love the look from the hem up -- the coat is stunning, and the hair and glasses look great. Legs somewhat unfortunate.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 AM) :

Wow, I love the monochrome opaque tights to booties. What great legs, she's the type of woman I'd love to date (btw; someone should make a singles site for fashionistas) I think the skirt is too black though, it's an abrupt transition.

Blogger Sam said ... (12:01 PM) :

Nice stems. Too bad those big, silly sunglasses cover up what are probably beautiful eyes and cheek bones.

Blogger Supplicem said ... (12:02 PM) :

I like her melancholic expression... and of course love her shoes

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:10 PM) :

VERY Audrey Hepburn except for skirt length. I like the pose.

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (12:18 PM) :

Nice photo, Sart. I really like this look. It accentuates her beautiful legs. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but she sort of reminds me of Audrey Hepburn. Her enormous sunglasses are a ubiquitous accessory for young women here in Southern California, so I'm glad to see someone wearing them in Manhattan. Not a big fan of the enormous sunglasses, though. What colour are her shoes? Pewter?

Blogger Cassaundra said ... (12:19 PM) :

oh, she looks so sophisticated - although, the shoes and tights seem a bit awkward. i would have liked the tights ..maybe in another color. or perhaps a different color shoe. despite that, she looks just gorgeous.

Blogger BOOM 456 said ... (12:22 PM) :

So cute!

Blogger M said ... (12:48 PM) :

Love those shoes.

Blogger Austin.Garnett said ... (12:54 PM) :

fabulous shoes! i love the grey tights in grey shoes. hair pulled back looks really chic, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:59 PM) :

Sart this is another hit.
I love her! sun glasses cover her face but she's a doll, all about being fragile. Her pose is adorable, this is the kind of look a japanese girl would pull off.
I say she wears vintage fur in a very elegant way.
She looks like a little figurine on a wonderland window display.
Very sweet and sexy...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:59 PM) :

omg! I luv her coat and shoes.
it's been hard for me to find nice wedge heels.
she looks chic and cute!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:12 PM) :

very contradictory - the haircut, the coat, the shoes. Love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:15 PM) :

I love it all, but the length of the skirt - too short.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:31 PM) :

love the jacket and the Dries van Noten shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 PM) :

What a beautiful silhouette and what a beautiful coat! Her pulled back hair and glasses work wonderfully for this streamlined pose. I would like to see the skirt a bit longer but on the whole she looks quite smashing.

Blogger Rumi Neely said ... (1:58 PM) :

Just the kind of simple but clever dressing I love..she looks like a polished waif.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:59 PM) :

she looks perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:12 PM) :

I don't think I'll ever understand the appeal of wedges. And those boats are certainly no exception.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:22 PM) :

This woman is so lovely. The coat is amazing, and her pose is so cute! However, it does seem that those shoes really take away from the beautiful shape of her legs.

Blogger Héloïse J. said ... (2:38 PM) :

luv luv the combination of the white fury coat with the stratchy skirt <3

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:42 PM) :

Wah. I wish- so much- that she was wearing black shoes. Same ones! Just black!

Otherwise, fabulous. This is something I would wear in a heartbeat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:43 PM) :

she looks perfect!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:53 PM) :

I love this look. I thought she was Kate Moss for a moment! That jacket is gorgeous - it has such a vintage Jackie O feel to it.

Blogger Miss Cavendish said ... (3:01 PM) :

I love how her topknot finishes the look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:05 PM) :

how wonderful to see this combination of texture and color done perfectly!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:12 PM) :

Channeling a little Audrey Hepburn on top...

Blogger Alya said ... (3:16 PM) :

How cute! The pose and the picture is adorable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:20 PM) :

caio, bella!

Blogger Lilith said ... (3:30 PM) :

She looks great! Proof that women CAN wear miniskirts past 25.

Blogger Susan B said ... (3:43 PM) :

That is the jacket of my dreams.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:44 PM) :

When she goes to bed at night, she dreams that she is Audrey Hepburn.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:46 PM) :

Love the look. The shoes are FIRE!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:56 PM) :

I don´t like the shoes. Nothing wrong with the girl though.

Blogger Bella07 said ... (4:00 PM) :

Très chic, no?
I like the pensive thought with the big glasses...
"Should I have really eaten that blue frosted cupcake?"
colors minimal, love it.

Blogger Katharine Smith-Warren said ... (4:13 PM) :

shoes and small hair do it

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:32 PM) :

her coat is absolutely amazing! and she looks so sweet and comfortable, and stylish. as always.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:40 PM) :

Love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:07 PM) :

Oh, she is sweet...and a little bit edgy too. the coat is very elegant, in a talitha getty sort of way, and the shoes and severe librarian...but the great pins bridge the gap between worlds. and the bun, a much underrated hairstyle, keeps the whole thing looking not-too-busy.

Blogger AdamfromVA said ... (5:22 PM) :

i love it minus the shoes. they are a little over the top.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:32 PM) :

Just lovely!

Blogger cheeks said ... (5:56 PM) :

opulence meets gIrL nExT dOoR~

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:37 PM) :

Your photos are so inspiring...
I'm glad internet allows me to follow up your work even from so far away here in Brazil.
Thank your for such beautiful images!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:41 PM) :

I love the whole large sunglasses look, even if it is a bit trendy.

Blogger Pure allure said ... (6:46 PM) :

Great outfit, specially nice shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:29 PM) :

love the Dries shoes! I'd love to have them in purple.

Blogger Françoise said ... (7:36 PM) :

i used to have similar shoes 10 years ago. they're long gone. they did not flatter my legs (which are thin), and they don't flatter hers somehow. must be the wedge. i love her face, though, and her demeanor. i want to know her, so i can borrow her coat. :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:44 PM) :

love those warm wooly tights - gorgeous charcoal colour, am heading out now to get some!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:09 PM) :

I love it except for the shoes. They look ok in the small pic, but when enlarged, they just look plain odd. I second the 'trash-bag' comment about the material of the shoes...

Otherwise, I love her demure look and delicate features.

Blogger graziella said ... (8:36 PM) :

Channeling Edie....love her look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:27 PM) :

where are her sunglasses from?

Blogger V said ... (11:52 PM) :

Wow, she seems very young and girlish, but when you look at the bigger version of the photo, you see that she's definitely in her thirties (hands and mouth). Beautiful, htough.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:50 AM) :

Ok! Paris and Milan are fabulous, no arguments about it. But I'm so glad you're back in New York.

Welcome Back Sart!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:33 AM) :

I rather like the combination of those shoes with her tights -- the matching colours elongate her legs. The bareness of the legs also work fantastically with the volume of her coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:46 AM) :

Sart, you must remind us when you're posting on style.com!!!!!! (that woman you shot Sunday with chartreuse ruffle dress under dark black cape-coat is fabulous). I wish the style.com pix could be viewed larger.

This woman is fabulous, too, of course.

Blogger Carol Diehl said ... (1:52 AM) :

Skirt too short? I didn't know my mother was checking out your blog. I find it interesting that commenters often complain about the very thing that makes a look special. The short skirt with those shoes is great! The look is charming, dressed up, and a little edgy. One of your best pics.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:06 AM) :

Shoes are Dries Van Noten Winter 2007. Pretty certain.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:56 AM) :

to me that is perfectly balanced proportions

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:28 AM) :

Like many, I too think she is gamine and pensive. I'm just not a fan of fur.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:46 AM) :

Love, love, love! everything but the shoes.

Blogger MH said ... (12:37 PM) :

They love you Natalie. And I agree, you look gorgeous. XX

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

Beautiful picture - love everything about her! the tights, the jacket, that wonderful cute skirt. Except the shoes are horrid. Really.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:02 PM) :

I'm so pleased to see olive green shoes all over the place! A little more va-va-voom than black or brown, but still neutral and versatile.

Blogger Barbara said ... (2:37 PM) :

Love this. She looks so small.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:53 PM) :

It's not the shortness of the skirt that bothers me, but the proportion seems off w/the shoes and jacket. Sart has a pic up on Style.com of a girl in a very short brocade skirt w/puffer vest and tough boots, who looks just perfect!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:17 PM) :

This is perfect... but if it was me I'd skip the shoes and opt for another pair. It's all beautiful in such a quiet, serene, almost untrendy way. And the colors are perfect for her. The first time I've seen a miniskirt worn in such a modest way - and it looks so much better here!

Blogger photolexx said ... (3:57 PM) :

I love her shoes, they are great!

Blogger lucylove;; said ... (6:10 PM) :

She reminds me of Mischa Barton *shrugs*
this is a great picture though.
she's gorgeous.

Blogger Scent Hive said ... (9:40 PM) :

She's a beautiful woman no doubt, but I guess I am the only one not loving this outfit. First off, there is something about the tights and shoes that seem cheap looking to me, and I am sure they are not! She does have great legs, but somehow the shoes make her calves look less slender than they are. I don't think they are flattering at all. And while I like the jacket on its own, her top and bottom halves feel disjointed. For some reason, this picture makes me unsettled. She looks like she's been stood up and her tights and shoes are just awful and her gorgeous gams derserve better.

Blogger Style Child said ... (10:16 PM) :

the shoes are Dries Van Noten...stunning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 PM) :

everyone, you simpley must see this other photo of her on superfantasticpicturetime. she has the same outfit but looks like another person.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:53 AM) :

wonderful coat

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:55 AM) :

she is embarrassingly perfect.

Blogger hoi polloi said ... (12:03 PM) :

I love the jacket and the miniskirt, but I don't like the shoes

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (1:32 PM) :

Holly Golightly from waist up.

Carine Roitfeld from waist down.

Now, isn't that a great combination?

Blogger pearlaceous said ... (6:38 PM) :

Love her ensemble, very chic and simple, and perfect for early spring..

Blogger Jane said ... (11:47 PM) :

i'm obsessed with this one. flawless and absolutely glamorous! i'm so glad you caught this on film!

Blogger Jini said ... (9:23 AM) :

she manages to wear a skirt of that length without looking suggestive at all - nicely done. looks great with the coat.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:46 PM) :

she is very en pointe. this is the only way to wear booties-- with similar colored tights. i love that gray was so big for fall/winter and i too will rock it as long as i can. the collar is awesome; the volume on top is a nice contrast. and then her hair is out of the way to show it all off. perfect.

Blogger Caroline said ... (4:52 PM) :

so so so amazing. as usual.

Blogger Karmander said ... (6:07 PM) :

This is a perfect example of how one creates a personality through clothes, and this is one of the most complex I've seen. You've got a little audrey, a little edie, a little rockstar...This is a woman struggling between agist expectations and her youthful spirit. Furthermore, the shoes do make her legs look a little too straight...but if they were sexy shoes that kicked up her calves and pumped up the vava-voom, her whole look would immediatly become a trampy joke. No, the shoes protect the look. It's all very Truman Capote. The man would have a field day analyzing this chick.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:20 AM) :

She's looking like she's praying or want her wish come true just right now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:54 PM) :

adorable :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:00 PM) :

ARE YOU KIDDING! The shoes are the icing on the cake!. My guess is they're Chloe's, perhaps the wedge Silverado's?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:02 PM) :

The shoes are stupendous! Are they Chloe's? The wedge Silverado?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:09 AM) :

This is not just an outfit but a persona

Blogger Steffi said ... (3:55 AM) :

I love her knees. :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:41 PM) :

natalie Joos should be a fashion consultant!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:45 AM) :

All the anonymous comments about the choice of shoes in this picture, makes one wonder about who these anonymous commenters really are, perhaps..but I think the whole look would definitely fall SHORT and not SO by using this method adding classic signature pieces with ssome rebelious pieces into the mix

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:31 PM) :

very chic, audrey hepburn with a twist. love the shoes.

Blogger stacy (la, ca) said ... (10:33 PM) :

Yes, a lovely look, and I like the look and proportion of the Dries shoes.

But I think the elegance and balance factor would go *way up* if the skirt was a pencil skirt to the knee. Just obscure the hemline-to-knee-area with anything (even using a finger between your eyes and the screen, and you'll see how your mind's-eye wants to see the balance of a knee-length pencil skirt! And suddenly, she's in the East 60's, not the West Village!

Blogger Hayuju said ... (2:03 AM) :

Really love her shoes!

Blogger Mare said ... (6:42 PM) :

i like everything but the skirt. it's too tight for the length, or two short for the outfit...
jacket's pretty.

Blogger ModernGear TV said ... (2:42 PM) :

I LOVE this pic! Was it candid, or did she pose this way? Her outfit speaks chic confidence but her pose is little girlish with a hint of shyness, like waiting for a boy or a friend who is slightly late. I love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:34 PM) :

o.m.g. audrey hepburn plus a little jackie o.

love! nice shoes too

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 PM) :

Allison Sarofim - one of the richest little girls in the world. In case you wondered why she is so calm! She's beautiful and pretty cool, love her Dries shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:54 PM) :

The shoes are very different, and they help to keep her ankles from looking too thin. The jacket is just amazing too--I like the tights, it's nice to see heavier legs, instead of stick thin ones, The skirt helps give her legs more shape but I would have added another inch of skirt anyway. the sunglasses are great too---I like how she is standing on this darker bit of sidewalk with the wedge shoes, and the whole photo feels serene. She doesn't appear cold to me, just lost in thought.

Blogger FeiraChic said ... (4:11 PM) :

Absolutely beautiful! It all fits into place, and so does the brick wall!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:05 PM) :

Love the jacket. I agree with a previous poster who thought the skirt was out of proportion though. Plus she looks like she's freezing.

Blogger JB said ... (1:40 PM) :

Modern-day Holly Golightly. Lovely.

Blogger Holly Brindley said ... (6:14 AM) :
