Ms Bataglia has such a great sense of humor when it comes to her assembles. Love the details of the T-shirt,gloves(felt?) and the shoes. The jacket is a bit large but she has the grace to pull off all of her choices.

Blogger Michelle said ... (8:27 AM) :

She has a very playful sense of proportion - I love the long wool gloves and little red belt. Lovely as always.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:28 AM) :

Hey Sart, are you following Giovanna? How come you see her so often? :-)

Blogger Carlene said ... (8:36 AM) :

She is just too good, isn't she? She looks like she has such fun in the morning getting dressed...who wouldn't with those clothes? But it's not just her style...she just always looks so sweet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:01 AM) :

She always looks so much nicer when she smiles. But Sart you are becoming a stalker, it's very unbecoming (jokes).

Blogger Laguna Beach Fogey said ... (9:17 AM) :

Great photo, Sart, as usual. There are beautiful women in impeccable clothing. And then there are beautiful women in impeccable clothing that betrays a touch of quirkiness and individuality. She is an example of the latter, IMVHO. Wonderful.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (9:20 AM) :

Has Giovanna Battaglia EVER had an off day? I covet everything in her wardrobe, especially those gray gloves!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:21 AM) :

her gloves are spoiling it all...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 AM) :

I like her t-shirt, her coat and her gloves. Butnotalltogether. I want them for my self still, because the individual choices attract my eye, and I bet she has other ensembles that would provoke the same response.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:24 AM) :

Wonderful as always. Love the high collar and gloves - Victorian-esque and sleek.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:27 AM) :

damn girl. you look fly

Blogger momo said ... (9:37 AM) :

what great long legs! she has a perfect understanding of how to work her own body's shape. That little touch of green on the belt is sweet.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:00 AM) :

I´ve been reading your site since february 2006, this is the first time for me to comment.
Of all the people you have been showing, this lady is my favourite by far. She´s looking great- every time you take her picture!

Blogger odilean said ... (10:24 AM) :

it isn't just the play on proportions but an eye for details that draws the viewer's gaze onto certain parts of her outfit that makes her a great dresser. she draws your eye to three very import places:
1st her shoes, which elongate the rest of her body. as you gaze down you notice that her pants are hemmed well, so that it does not look like she is shrinking and the gold toe detail of the shoes make you concentrate on them. ooh look at how pretty but at the same time as you gaze down you take in the rest of her and she looks TALL (which i'm sure she is).
2nd the ribbon on her waist is a beautiful christmas garnish but it looks great with the black and white and grey scale and it is placed at her natural waist which again, makes her look elongated.
3rd is her collar which stretches out her neck and makes you look at her lovely face and smile. again, and illusion of HEIGHT.
PS now think if her pants were cut off at the calves, if her sleeves were a little too long for her arms and if she showed a lot of cleavage. she would look short.
so i love this play on proportions because it is the only Correct way to play with proportions. and i love how the details build into the whole thing. this is one smart lady.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:29 AM) :

You could devote an entire sartorial-themed blog to her. She is always fabulous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:37 AM) :

I love her! For all the reasons described above - great style, humour, and she's always smiling.

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (10:45 AM) :

What a great lady! That coat is amazing, beautiful and magnificent! I also love the simple, but elegant way she did her hair... She is a princess.

Not sure about the globes and the (Lanvin?) T-shirt though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:46 AM) :

love her

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 AM) :

what a great combination of proportion! and these lovely grey gloves...!
isn't it a little romantic?

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:59 AM) :

For me she's one of the most inspirational (or should I say aspirational?) women I've seen on here. She just knows ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:32 AM) :

she A L W A Y S pulls out the greatest outfits.
what an artist!

Blogger D said ... (11:49 AM) :

Both this and the photo above are bursting with joy! Giovanna and the dapper man are kindred sprits in these fun and chic looks.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:02 PM) :

Okay seriously, is it fair that she has such an amazing sense of style and the wardrobe to match? I hate her, I really do ;)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:46 PM) :

Beautiful and elegant - what wonderful pants. A woman who really knows and understands her own body shape and works it to her advantage in a unique and graceful way. i love her top and belt, she has a sense of humour too. Viva Giovanna!

Blogger minette said ... (12:52 PM) :

love the pants and the shoes, but the gloves take it into the costume realm - she looks like she's about to wash dishes or operate - and it takes away from the rest of the look. otherwise she looks great. - minette

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:32 PM) :

Giovanna Battaglia is a wonderful mix of self understanding, good taste and creativity. She fits the clothes wonderfully to her body and she does it with panache.

She is a real artist and knows how to project that in a very graceful way. It is a real pleasure to see her on these pages, everytime!

Blogger Anca said ... (1:49 PM) :

she elegantly expresses the art and science of choosing the right clothes..

Blogger blah said ... (1:55 PM) :

I didn't get the short sleeve jacket trend until seeing this photo. I knew it was meant to be worn with long gloves but I usually saw it on women wearing skirts. This trend looks much better with a high waisted pant. I also really enjoy the wild pattern bursting through.

Blogger Zeitgeist said ... (2:05 PM) :

Such a perfect outfit... Some people just plain have fashion genius

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:38 PM) :

I love this, especially the gloves and the smile.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 PM) :

This is ridiculously wonderful and the shoes are the hawtness.

mltt

Blogger Alya said ... (5:09 PM) :

My! I think this is one of the most elegantly stylish women I've seen. Those gloves! Stunning!

Blogger Michael said ... (5:38 PM) :

the toes of her shoes are awesome!

Blogger pearlaceous said ... (6:02 PM) :

She's always a treat to see..

Blogger Jae Young said ... (7:11 PM) :

I love those gloves and I want to steal them from her, desperately. I don't think that is grammatical, but they steal my grammar skillz from me. And she does know how to work with proportions, lovely as always, Ms. G.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:28 PM) :

Love the tee and the high waisted pants - it all looks so striking against that light gray pavement. Great shot!

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (7:59 PM) :

Gorgeous silhouette! Lean and long on top, baggy and soft at the bottom?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:56 PM) :

mmm dont like the gloves... at all

Blogger junglesiren said ... (11:03 PM) :

The colors are beautiful, as is the subject. A woman who knows what she's doing when it comes to getting dressed -- as evidenced from this and past photos.

If only American women (L.A. in particular, where I live) could get hip to feeling comfortable in their natural beauty instead of covering it up in "In Syle says so" kind of make-up. Everyone has a natural beauty, they just need to know how to enhance it with a little bit of this or that.

Bla, bla, bla.... she better wear the hell out of those gloves -- a nice playful and surprising touch.

A+ all around.

Blogger Kanani said ... (2:40 AM) :

Gorgeous! Dignified!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:35 AM) :

she is a gorgeous girl and the outfit is all good EXCEPT for the gloves...i am all for gloves normally but here she looks like she is about to wash a sinkload of dirty dishes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:44 AM) :

i am just in love with her look...tres chic!

Blogger escritora said ... (7:04 AM) :

she looks perfect. adorable! i love her outfit... once again :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:18 AM) :

Must. Have. Those. Pants.

That is all.

Blogger Susan B said ... (10:24 AM) :

It's the gloves that just make this ensemble for me. That and the fact that she obviously has fun getting dressed in the morning.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 AM) :

I ADORE this look! I can't even tell you which part I like best; the intriguing shirt, the flowy pants, those gloves, or the peek of red and green at the waist-- it's all fascinating.
Great photo, as usual!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:00 PM) :

she is probably my favorite women that you photograph. she is the best because while she wears the trends, she always takes them a bit further, gives them her own stamp, which is the sign of true fashion genius. i would love to see a blog which simply shows what she wears every day. love her, love this look! i actually bought grey long-sleeved gloves this winter, but i sadly didn't have a lovely crop-sleeved coat like hers to wear it with. i'm jealous.

only thing is... and i'm surprised nobody has mentioned this... i really have a strong desire to rip that little bit of green ribbon off the outfit. what is it? it looks like a bit of faded xmas decoration somehow accidentally got stuck to her. otherwise, fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:44 PM) :

much better than her outfit the other day. great trousers and the grey baggy gloves really work with this black ensemble.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:55 PM) :

her gloves are so sumptious.
im not usually a fan of wide-legged trousers, but these hit her at a part of her torso as to make her look chic.
also, the tan detailing at the toes of her shoes - stylish!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:22 AM) :

I can't resist the above green ribbon comment. I imagine a lot of men (and women for that matter) would like to unwrap that ribbon for Christmas!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:00 PM) :

i fall in love with her more and more every time you capture her! and this totally blew me away, it's such a "fun" look. wish i knew what it's like to have her dress instincts. those pants are so wonderful... i don't know if i'd ever be able to pull them off though, for i am quite short...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:21 AM) :

That Lanvin tee is in my wishlist...it's simply divine!

Blogger Jessie Leigh said ... (1:44 PM) :

It all comes together perfectly. The gloves, the perfect pant, the blouse. Perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:33 PM) :

Just as I favor short dresses and skirts in attempt to lengthen my 4 feet, 10 inches, she excels in dressing for her figure. Oh, to be so statuesque!

Blogger doanything24 said ... (1:08 PM) :

I want everything she's wearing-- it is perfectly balanced and beautiful.

Blogger VertigoVirgo said ... (9:46 AM) :

She looks stunning in those pants...very nice and the jackets proportion is perfect. She wears this well.

Blogger Yi said ... (5:46 AM) :

ahhh!! tres chic!!
i wish i were tall to pull of those to-die-for pants
