Comments on "On the Street....Crisp, Pitti Uomo"
blue like the new of louis Vuitton, wich i don't like.
but this outfit is great, love the shoes...and the transformer in the back.
i like the blazer & shoes (since I'm a black/blue lover !)
But the turtle neck somehow...the guy is already thin & the turtle neck makes him even thinner...
Didn't quite dig it
Wonderful picture, he looks amazing. Im loving the chocolate brown suede shoes contrasting with the blue color palette on top.
italian transformers?
Never been the first one to post on a photo here. Something must be going on in the world. This is a very very strange photo. If he wasn't so well groomed, I would hate this outfit, and definitely hate it on anyone over 55, but here it's clever/retro. And what about that rubber hose, and what's going on in the background. Where are you?
Perfect. This is such a good look, I don't know where to begin. As far as the sport coat is concerned, I'm not sure I would look good in that colour (teal?), and perhaps the lapels are slightly too wide for my tastes. But this guy really pulls it off. Are those moleskin or cord trousers? Check out the rich tobacco suede of his oxfords! Nicely done.
nice shoes....but overall...i dont like
Love this!
I can't stop looking at his jacket. Just the way the plaid is arranged, and that little bit of white pocket square.
Sharp like a tack.
WHOA... he's fierce! His outfit and posture are impeccable!
the transition from brown to black is quite lovely.
I've been looking at your blog for about a year, and am finally going to ask you- what kind of camera are you using? and how about your choice of lens?
i dig what you do.
a friend of mine does something sort of like it:
http://streetstitch.blogspot.com
where was this taken?
His turtle neck is adorable
The statues in the background are really interesting. But, I think his plaid sport coat is more. The shades are so lovely. All the colors in this photograph compliment each other. Also, I love the shoes.
wow....that detail on the jacket are soo perrrfect...
i"m luvin it...very nice..
wiiieee

this guys killin" outfit, plus his rigid pose, plus those big robots in the background...damn!
he's like the evil genius in some comic book from japan that i'm not cool enough to know about
there are some "mistakes" here and there (it seems to me there is something wrong with the sleeves of his jacket) but this outfit is quite good though, the colour matching is superb and plus I love how he looks in that turtleneck, it gives him a classy look
This gentleman certainly has style, and I love the plaid jacket and suede shoes. His overall look is put together well, but I would have paired the jacket and shoes with different trousers. I would also replace the turtleneck with a blue button down oxford, and perhaps a polka dot bow tie.
Finally, proof that the little devil that sits on my shoulder really exists. He keeps telling me things like "plaid is like champagne, there is never a wrong time for it." I always wondered where he went in private moments. Apparently he goes to Italy to hang out with robots. I miss you, little diablo.
splendid tartans!
and he pulls it off
swimmingly well
Impeccable, I like he breaks the "Total look" with the brown shoes.
Thank Sart. Its a great blog!
This is an interesting picture. Funny, I have one of myself sitting in quite the same way!
That jersey and jacket don't really work for me, very 70s like; the pattern is too exaggerated...
Not a fan of the colours either, they don't go with those shoes which, by the way, are great!
I love that grey sky and those clear trees in the distance. And, those robots in the background? How strange, yet fun!
pretentious yakuza ninja meets field of gundams
AWWSUM!
A brilliant and surreal photograph. The picture suggests an uber-stylish Bond villain and his cyborg army. Love this chap's style.
He is a nice gentleman,i love the jacket.
perfect!!
I love your photos! :)
Absolutely adoreable jacket! Lovely colours and pattern. The shoes are also vero very nice. In all, a great ensemble!
I really like this photo. I would say that, in contrast to the one posted a few days ago of the two ladies with umbrellas, this one has characteristics of "your style" as I know and enjoy it:
A subject in focus against a background which--like the street paintings of Edward Hopper--includes a hodgepodge of things on the street, or in this case a sculpture garden, but, being out of focus, turns into a backdrop with lots of visual activity yet somewhat abstract.
Color, in these photos, is sharp and intense and often engaged really effectively, in contrast to early color photography in which the advantage over black and white isn't pronounced.
In these images, with their realistic figures superimposed against impressionistic backdrops, the use of color emphasizes the contrast between the figure and the background. Especially since the subjects of these portraits have often chosen their clothes to play off of one another.
This photo and others like it make me think of the relationship between your work and the work of August Sander which you have posted here. His photos often show the way different classes and professions dress but yours are about individuals, and focused on their individuality.
Anyway, thanks for this nice work.
Let's start with the good:
His shoes are gorgeous. I love the turtleneck, the plaid jacket fabric and the beautiful roll of the lapels; I like the man's overall style.
That said, I am not crazy about the match between the shirt and the sportcoat. I like interesting contrasts but this just isn't nice. Also, the jacket cut looks like it's straight from the 70's with the narrow sleeves and wide lapels. I don't like that cut.
But those are just details. A man of style, no question about it!
What a gorgeous shot, in terms of texture, colour, and contrast. Beautiful stuff. I like the art-mobile suits in the background.
He looks so sharp that I didn't even notice the crazy background! Haha. That jacket is really cool, and I love the colors here.
Absolutely love the shoes..anybody know who makes them and are they available online?
Utterly prim.
I love it!
Love the blues in the jacket and the rich brown shoes together.
But something about the actual ensemble is off. I think the turtleneck might be the problem for me.
he´s posture is absolutely perfect! i wish i could be like him!posture really helps you to look nicer, natural, elegant... try
i love his posture and the eccentricity of his sportcoat but i am very conflicted about the matching of brown shoes with black pants. am i the only one to feel this way?
why is this so cute.
the color of his turtleneck is fabulous. and the fact that he's sitting in front of robots is a nice touch. i also love the little white pocket square that somehow brings together the combination of blazer and turtleneck.
sorry about my earlier comment...i realized that what i thought looked like a pipe is actually the seam in the concrete barrier.
btw, what's your opinion on alligator shoes? do you think one's first pair should be brown or black? and what time of the day is appropriate to wear such shoes?
Both the top and bottom halves of this outfit work wonderfully on their own. Together, not so much. Still, I endorse his bravado.
An elegant, creative-looking young gentleman. Fascinating backdrop, as always.
My comment is simply that...
...the comments for this picture are some of the funniest ones I've read on Sart.
And, nods to the gorgeous fierce villian with his Italian Gundam robot army. I love brilliant blues in winter.
