Comments on "On the Street....Casual Friday at Pitti Uomo"
oh I like his style and also especially I like his hair!!^^
omg.....you've made my day.
what a dish!!
I find the shape of his pants and shoes ‘trop manieré’ for my taste, but I adore the colours, shapes, details and layering of the rest. Bravo!
gorgeous the purple shirt
Martijn always rocks !
Love the colour scheme - well done.
Finally adding some Dutch flavour to this site :-)) Great news! This is Martijn Lusink - creative/ buying director at retailer "Oger" in Holland (www.oger.nl). Always looking at his best - WOW!
handsome! love the jacket... and the man!
Purple is always hot~
He's very stylish though i'm struggling a bit with the tightness of it all. It's almost like he's had all this for 20 years and won't admit he's gone up a size. He's very trim of course, but, well...i'm not too comfortable. I hope he is.
Ken, meet Barbie (just below)
The gentleman on the left ( the walking, blur figure) seems to be much more interesting. I can recognize beautiful suede shoes.
Well he's a delicious thing, isn't he.
I wish more men would dress this way -
vest+tie+jacket=YUM!

nice layering~
Martijn Lusink, looking good, as usual.
Hey, my fellow country-man.
Martijn Lusink.
What's exactly the 'Pitti Uomo'?
Nice fine, Scott.
Its very business casual.. Good style. Like the sweater mix on there.
here we have it: the ONLY person to ever use his double zipper... and use it well.
Love the Lightweight slim fit chino's. Very Steve McQueen. Nice accompanying jacket also.
Where to get a decent quality pair of chinos online my friends? (minus Ralph Lauren as they dont ship to the UK)
Everything about this man is impeccable.
Wow! Casual Friday with style indeed! Italiano style.
So perfectly handsome. Love those nearly invisible purple stripes on the jacket and that perfect plum peeking out of the pocket. I just developed an instant crush on this man! His hair is pretty divine, too.
Oh, we should all look so sharp on casual Friday. Although, I would have like a pattern in the tie.
I like the grey and lavender and how well he has managed to bring the whole look together. In the hands of a novice this may not have been so successful.
I love the correct fit of each item of clothing...the shirt collar is very flattering...each piece seems tailored for this gentleman's physique.
The fact that he's so handsome doesn't hurt.
I love the soft shoulders of the jacket as well as the patch pockets and 3/2 lapel roll.
Almost a perfect jacket, just if the lapels were a bit thinner...
this young man is quite disheveled!
the marriage between his shirt collar and tie is just not up to par. his tie is tied a bit too tightly, as well as being askew ( the latter being excusable ) not to mention the grey tie melds into the light purple shirt do to the similar tonal values, losing the definition of the neck piece all together. if he had chosen a dark purple piece per-say, it would have created a much more centered, reassuring strength to his attire. his pocket square feels a bit too overbearing due to the bulging of the pocket ( is it actually a handkerchief? ). the jacket itself fits very well, but if you look at his right shoulder and bottom button... it leads me to believe "she's" seen better days. i personally enjoy a shorter sleeve, as long as the jacket is snug all around! the separation at the waistband of the sweater draws unwanted attention to his groin. this would have worked with a shorter sweater and nice belt to draw the eye to the buckle, not the beener! that leads me right into his pants! once again the fit is his saving grace...these slacks scream the gap to me, or in his case, benetton! and by no means am i strictly speaking of labels... more the quality of the material.
fret not!!
all is easily looked passed due to a few simple things! first and foremost being his glowing personality! confidence and happiness are two of the best accessories a person can wear! next would be those shoes, comfortably classy with a tad bit of wear- what a combo! finally, would be his hands. perfect specimens in my opinion, especially his right one. you can see the strength in his left and the elegance, through the nonchalant cradling of the phone, in his right. now thats a hand i would like to shake!
It's the suede shoes and the purple handkerchief, right? Jacket and trousers are bit to creasy in my opinion but otherwise great. love that smile!
Love much of this. Makes me nostalgic for days when men dressed so elegantly (days I never lived through unfortunatley). However the tightness of the trousers makes me wince...and I'm a girl!
I like the v and the lines of the shirt and the tie and the jacket- but they really draw the eye down (an arrow!) to the pants which seem to be a bit tight and I feel like my eye is directed to his...uh...you see what I mean.
grey
statuesque-
We shall have to call him David!!
This succeeds where LR failed below. Color, texture, attitude, tailoring - it's all there, and it come off very very well. Take care in dressing, dress well, then forget about it.
Great job of mixing:
Patch pocket tweed jacket. Very Trad.
Slim cut khakis with pegged leg.
Those shoes. A Chukka but what a last. Almost a paddock boot.
Why is it European men can wear longish hair so well? The barbers?
In the 18th Century, the fashion for the male was a distinct three portion approach.
The head, covered in a cocked or tri cornered hat (this guys hair).
The upper body covered in a great coat that flared out at the waist (this guys jacket). A waist coat of a contrasting color (this guys zipper sweater).
The legs covered in stockings with buckled shoes and a heel sometimes painted red as was the fashion in France( this guys sleek shoes).
Is this the 18th C in the 21st C? I think so.
I just love the double-zip vest. Functional and casual but looks so good!
I like his looks but not the fit of his pants. They look sloppy.
How dashing and debonair!
pants a bit too tight I think... but otherwise, a very good looking man in a nice purple shirt with a nice smile.
What a relief to see younger people for a change. The guy has a nice collection of clothes on him. Maybe the jacket is just a bit too tight and the sleeves a bit too short. Maybe it looks like that due to the knit under.
a triumph!
he managed to layer without making it look too bulky or too feminine. certainly impressive. plus that beige sweater sits well between the gray sport-coat and purple shirt.
I really like the fit of his jacket across the chest and shoulders. The width ( and esp. height) of the lapels...he looks great.
besides the very intriguing traditional-original outfit combination: the angel face, the happy/malicious smile, the strong hands and the viril posture... ah my god. martin?
Nice photo, Sart. I've seen this gentleman in previous photos. What I find interesting about this photo is that his jacket appears to be a 3/2 roll. In other words, the lapel rolls to the second (middle) button. To American 'trads,' this is significant. However, I have seen Italians exhibit this style too; in Italian circles the 3/2 roll is the mark of superior tailoring.
The sporty vest and earthy shoes are unexpected things to put with a jacket and tie--and it works beautifully! Wonderful that he is trying something that is not obvious.
Great look. So are all these guys at Pitti wearing white jeans or khakis? Grateful for any advice, so I don't go shopping and come back looking more Boss Hogg than Hugo Boss.
This makes me nostalgic for the days when more men wore their hair like this.
heavy sigh.
nothing looks better than a four-in-hand knot, in my opinion. also, i love that the button holes go all the way up the front of his jacket. i'm relatively young maybe, but i really love wearing a hooded, zip up sweater under jackets.
also, someone asked about chinos. i recommend jcrew.
he is perfection.
Love this guy every time I see a picture of him.
Parenthetically, I don't think the pants are tight in the groin area at all. Just wrinkly, as if he'd been sitting for a long time. Those aren't "too tight" wrinkles....
