It is really fun to see two ladies wearing similar shapes executed in such different ways. Again, where they dressed like this on purpose? Why? What is the story of this picture?

This is one of the best outfits I’ve seen in Anna dello Russo -so far, she looks great although there is something quite unusual in her smile. I love the friend’s hat and her eye expression.

Balenciaga docet in their style!

I love Anna's Balenciaga outfit (from Fall-Winter 2007/2008)! Usually, wearing head-to-toe designer would seem a bit tacky, but this works...I just hope she's not clad in the multicolored chunky sandal that was featured on the runway show.

i think the outfits are lovely and very reminiscent of 1920s English countryside. . . and a crucial part of the charm is the perfect coordination of the intense stonework behind the colors and textures they're wearing. Winter perfection- like a white puff of breath in the icy landscape. . .

Woman on right:
not very creative at all. All balenciaga in one outfit? it looks like a costume.

Wow, Winter style truly is sumptuous!

what a great pair, bundled up stylishly from head to toe. love the orange purse.

This outfit really suits Anna (and her friend) - and her age - even though the clothes probably come straight from the catwalk. I do not like the many miniskirt pictures I have seen of her previously, in those she looks like a victim of fashion rather than a person with a great personal style.

Great looks on both women. I love Burberry! My father-in-law just gave my husband a coat (a cast-off from a friend almost thirty years ago) that he had almost never worn. My husband showed it to me, and I immediately recognized that it was a classic Burberry tweed coat, in excellent condition. Fantastic! My father-in-law had never realized the significance of the Burberry label and was very glad the coat was in more appreciative hands!

Fantastic jackets on both of them!
I really enjoy seeing this kind of casual style on your blog.

Hooray! No oversized handbags.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:24 PM) :

anna's jacket and pants both look very balenciaga-esque, i love it!

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:52 PM) :

Dressing up in a full-on Balenciaga runway look is too gimmicky, in my opinion. But I might just be envious...

Blogger Unknown said ... (12:59 PM) :

Are those jodhpurs?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:06 PM) :

Speaking of Balenciaga, does any one else feel that the craftsmanship of their bags has diminished significantly?? I recently purchased a bag whose strap broke off the first day of use (a round of masking tape was holding it in place, rather than sewn!!) and the hardware of another bag purchased by a friend that same week came off! Had to vent, sorry! The jacket on the right reminded me of the situation as it is from the same season.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:53 PM) :

the left is great. i'm sure the fur on the right looked better on the animal it came from. why not a nice fluffy scarf in a color?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:12 PM) :

thoes balenciaga jodhpurs!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:07 AM) :

I know well the girl on the left. She is one of my icons in real life. She is totally cool and relaxed in her outfit. I love this style, I like a lot the way she holds the Prada bag, like she was born with it. You rule girl!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

Nice shot ! I prefer woman on the left cause she's smiling even if she looks shy... and I like her orange "pochette" too... I think it contains box cigarettes of the same color, maybe gauloises !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:19 PM) :

Check out that design, are those pants (on the right) leather?

Both women look gorgeous, full of style without the frou frou and bling thing going on.

Blogger londondog said ... (4:01 PM) :

Wow - Anna della Russo in trousers- that's a sight to behold.

The problem with that Balenciaga look she is sporting (jodhpurs plus fitted blazer-y type of coat/jacket) is that it has become a tad too common for me - it's just so distinct that it's hard to make it one's own. Anna is to me about a lot of leg and statement skirt and shoe - sassy, strong and instantly recognisable, that perfect mix of femininity with strong nearly masculine tinge to it. Somehow this, although immaculately put together, strips that striking individuality from her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:21 PM) :

love the Prada handbag

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:11 PM) :

Buying into the labels leaves one looking for more.

Balenciaga head-to-toe? It does not work. I agree with the previous post about it looking too costume-y.

Frankly, if these women weren't in such visibly identifiable designer labels, I would not conclude that the pieces were necessarily well-made (save the fur collar).
I do not find any of these looks as inspiring as the usual inspirations that dance around on this blog!

Blogger .......... said ... (12:07 AM) :

beanies!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:48 AM) :

Gawd, I crave color! But they both look great: they really do.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:56 PM) :

as far as i'm concerned that bright orange prada bag is what makes this photograph.

Blogger Philip St. Philip said ... (5:38 PM) :

Here again I see Miss Anna dello Russo going again for the easiest choiche: the total look. How very boring...
p.s. my love to Viviana

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:02 PM) :

I've been looking for pants like those on the right for ages... ralph lauren has some close versions but they're too fitting around the hips... please of please someone tell me where to get some!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:25 PM) :

My god, Anna della Russo ALMOST cracking a smile - I didn't recognise her at first... nice to see her looking less grumpy than usual. It's a really odd outfit on her though, doesn't see in keeping with her usual style, nor is it very inspired.

Blogger Layton said ... (1:29 PM) :

You have got to love Balenciaga. The FW07 collections was spectacular.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:28 AM) :
